I have structural damage from a few factors. It took me a while to figure out why I had high porosity hair but I think I figured out where that damage came from: 1. My mom putting a perm in my hair as a kid which made it break off, and just lack of knowledge on how to care for kinkier hair 2. Breakage from constant ponytails and high tension styles growing up and breakage around the perimeter of my hair from wearing cotton headbands 3. Not getting trims often enough and having split ends and knots run throughout my hair It's been 3 years since I started learning how to take care of my hair and the damage is still there (my hair is more frizzy around the face framing pieces of my hair) but watching your videos has helped a lot. That elasticity treatment has already made a huge difference
This video is sooo timely. I ordered my wash-n-go bundle on 09/04. I can't wait to try it. I don't want to keep cutting my hair. I want to try to nurture it back to health and then cut it slowly over time. Thank you, Mo!
You really dropped a few gems in this tutorial and I love how you gave a comprehensive plan to tackle the issue while ensuring to mention that she has to be consistent if she wants to see improvement. We need more real stylists like you that care about our hair and scalp.
oooh I love this video!!! so much GREAT info!!!! One the only UA-camrs I trust to know what they’re talking about! ❤ you take us to school every 👏🏽time👏🏽 !!!!
Hi, Mo!! I'm ready! I need this. I was just about to go to a salon to get a cut because I feel that my ends are dry and damaged. Thank you for this upcoming video. Love from Queens, NY.
Hi No. So glad you're back. Tried the Curl PrimDr on my partially relaxed pixie cut - hydration, shine and softness on relaxed and natural hair with a pleasant scent. Thank you!
New sub here! I just got the whole collection and cannot wait to use! UPDATE: I’m actually blown away by this collection! Mo really changed the game with this one. I big chopped my hair due to heat damage a few months ago and since then my hair has still felt very lackluster. This collection might be a staple for my routine, especially the elasticity restore treatment! 12/10 highly recommended ♥️ Thank you for this amazing collection Mo!
Very well done, as usual MO. Once again, thank you for an AMAZING presentation. I appreciate you taking the time to share the process and helping us achieve our hair retention goals.
I just literally ordered the clarifier and the elasticity restoring treatment 10 minutes ago. I'm hoping the restoring treatment will help my hair to grow.
So happy I came across your videos. I am a cosmetologist and this was a great refresher. I do have a question: is it okay to use a hair mister/steamer with the conditioner instead of a hooded dryer? Thank you
Another amazing lesson, Mo! My hair changed when I overmanipulated my hair in 2019 so I have a damaged cuticle. I deal with excessive frizz, increased porosity, breakage, and dullness. Is there anything I can do to help my hair?
The elasticity restoring treatment in my collection is made to help with what you are describing! Weekly use will reduce the frizz, help retain more moisture, fill in the holes in the cuticle so you can continue to grow it out gracefully! moknowshair.com/products/elasticitytreatment
Mo, I absolutely love the ultimate hydration shampoo and elasticity restoring treatment. I also really love the curl primer but I get flaking when I use the gel. I’m usually heavy handed but tried to be cognizant of using as little as possible. What do you recommend I do to prevent flaking? The primer makes my hair so soft but should I go straight to the gel without the primer? I also don’t get longevity and my hair frizzes and loses its shine by day 3. I love the smell of the products too by the way..! Really well done. So, please give me pointers, I would like to use the whole line if I can get rid of the flaking.
Try the gel alone and see if that helps attach more smoothly. Also use more water, less product and sit under a hooded dryer. Gels are more temperamental than other stylers and don’t like to be piled on!
How can I reverse my high porosity hair? It was low porosity before then I started my microloc journey a year ago. I have recently combed my hair out and now it’s high porosity. I have not used heating tools and have not colored my hair
Structural damage can also cause porosity changes due to holes in the cuticle layer. Weekly use of the Elasticity Restoring Treatment will help repair the cuticle and protect your hair as it grows out!
*Please can you shed more light on people with mixed textures?* *I have undefined almost straight, corkscrew, zigzag and pen spring shapes on my head and I live in a highly hot and humid industrial city.* *I always have to use something to hold my almost rubber-like hair in place but some of my hair never gets defined.* *Its coarse and can even break a nail or create a wound on ones finger*
You may benefit from a shower filter to make sure mineral deposits aren’t building up in your hair, but without knowing more about your current regimen and things you’ve done over the years, I can’t speak to the mixed textures.
@@MoKnowsHair thanks, ma'am. I really appreciate you. I think it's genetic because it has been like that from childhood and throughout all my pregnancies, and after postpartum.

@@MoKnowsHair ok I will try that! Thank you and I’ll let you know how it turns out!
What edge gel did you use, please?
It’s one I’m working on… but in the meantime you could try design essentials!
@@MoKnowsHairthank you. Definitely waiting for yours but will use design essentials in the meantime.
Could the elasticity treatment be used on virgin low porosity natural hair weekly? I’m worried that the protein will be too much for my hair.
It will not be too much. It’s not a protein treatment, it’s a treatment with protein in it making it great for weekly use! 💗
Hi Mo for tight curls hair thats is prone to dryness.
Do you recommend washing every 7 days with shampoo or co wash?
You should shampoo if you have styling products in your hair for a full week, but the co-wash is ok if you need the detangling help during.

Sighhsss I cut mine. Wish I had seen this sooner. So what should I do 😮
Just focus on consistency forward from here! I’m sure the haircut helped and will give you a nice fresh start.

@@MoKnowsHair, thank you very much for responding!
Doing everybody’s hair but mines, what about me Mo?❤🎉😢
LOL! I know, I know!
I feel the same way. I mean, I can come home anytime (to GA 🍑)
Every week wash the hair. Oh no I can’t do that lol. Every two weeks is reasonable I think 🤔. Your the stylist though lol geezy
If two weeks isn’t giving you trouble, of course you can do that… but most people are not going to have good results with that type of cycle 💜
@@MoKnowsHair no my hair gets really frizzy in the right side. I thought I may just need a good trim/cut lol
Can someone please tell me how to be a model for MO Knows Hair. hair. LOL!! But seriously if anybody knows. Please tell me😂
