When professional hair stylists debunk natural hair myths while simultaneously providing knowledge backed by science 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 we love to see it!!
This!!!!
Agreed!
Absolutely ☝ 💯
"If you have highly textured hair, it's going to feel like highly textured hair" - Mo Knows 🤷🏾♀️
I don't understand why people are comparing MoKnowsHair to influencers. They are not professionals. They are just offering their opinion. If you watch them, just know they are giving you their opinion, no matter how much they act like they know what they are talking about. MoKnowsHair is a professional, completely different situation
Sis gave a hair, body and mental session all in one!
4real 4real
😂😂😂😂literally laughed out loud because a majority of what the natural hair community teaches goes against what mo is teaching. I’m here for it but it just goes to show how vast & deep natural hair knowledge is. I have been natural 6/7 years and every year there is new information I never heard of 🤣
I’m licensed and care for other people’s hair 🙂
Absolutely!!! Never heard of those concepts either. Thanks Mo
“Or…You may need to re-evaluate your feelings towards the subconscious biases you’ve adopted around what your hair should look like.”
Good God Almighty, that’s a word right there, Mo!
I stopped prepooping after watching your ‘wash and condition’ routine. I notice now that I’m not aggravating my dirty strands so much prior to washing, I am shedding way less! I also follow the recommended time on products for deep conditioning and my hair is super moisturizer after. Now my wash days isn’t a daunting task. I am so happy you are providing us these videos. Following some UA-camrs recommendations for curly hair did not work well for me.
When I say I be out here looking "crazy" with my two strand twists after wash day, but my hair grows bc I leave👏it👏alone👏👏?! We need to leave our hair aloooooooone
What about it looks crazy ?
'Truth be told, a lot of y'all don't have low porosity hair, you just have perpetual build-up... water isn't getting through to your strands.' PREACH! Mo, I have thought the same thing for so long. I use to search high and low for high porosity youtubers for help with my high porosity hair. It's some better now but still 95% (in my opinion) of naturals say they're low porosity and I find it hard to believe after watching them pile lots of product on their hair. So glad to hear a popular influencer speak this truth. I would love to see a 'how to' video about defining high porosity hair.
Yes I'd love a video on that too!
Seriously, I can barely find people with high porosity hair on here! Her statement really made me think WHY that is.
Excacly , if the hair is healthy just need it shampoo and cream styler.....and food
This is facts because for the longest I thought my daughter (3a/b) hair had low porosity like me (4b) only to find out that she absolutely does not! It was all the products I was using, especially a lot of silicone back then. 🤦🏾♀️ When you know better, you do better.
I’m at the point now with your videos, i have realized i know NOTHING about my hair lol. Everything i thought can now be explained away
Sometimes I feel lost too. I'm newly natural (6m)...since I'm uncomfortable going to my salon because of covid, I have no guidance 😔.
You too lol
Who else had to rewatch this video cuz you want to make sure you heard every thing? Lol. Since that last video I've been really focusing on my cleansing and conditioning process and I have to say. I am a lot less stressed on wash day and my hair is healthy. @moknowshair can you please do a video specially for the girls with the teenie weenie afros? Thanks.
🙋♀️
Mo, I’m sooo grateful for the knowledge that you give us natural girls for free! I can’t afford to go to the salon; besides, I don’t have one anywhere near me. You’ve help turn my hair around almost instantly. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ♥️
💜💜
Thankful for Mo Knows Hair. All my questions are getting answered thanks to you. Not knocking the other people videos on UA-cam but, Mo.... I just love hearing the truth.
I’m sooooo glad your posting more ...needs alll your knowledge 🤩🤩🤩🤩😍😍😍😍😍
So remoisturizing my daughter’s hair gives the look of moisture/grooming, but is not actually moisturizing the hair shaft from the inside out 🤯🤯
Mo is giving us this level of education for free, imagine what you would get if you were to pay to study at MoKnowsHair Academy! God bless you abundantly Mo. These next generation of girls and boys are gonna be loving their hair different
I feel like the media and influencers on youtube got a lot of people feeling like they have dry hair that needs to be moisturized all the time. When people see influencers with shiny, juicy, smooth looking curls they automatically think that if their hair doesn't look that way it's dry. Sometimes the products these influencers advertise sitting on top of their hair is what gives this "moisturized" look.
Some hair types can be healthy, actually moisturized and still "look" dry it's just how some hair types naturally look.
I think this is helpful because a lot of naturals, including myself, have this "ideal" of what we want/expect our texture to look like and behave. This video is a reality check that we will never have permanently moisturized hair. Moisture is fleeting like happiness, better enjoy it while it's there!
Yo, Sis gotta break it all the way down! I hope y’all listening! Please don’t make her say it for the people in the back! Just pass on the info please! Better yet Like and Share this video! ❤️💯🙏🏾
After binge watching some of her videos, and applying her knowledge to my hair routine, my hair has completely transformed in about a three week period. My hair is now more manageable, moisturized, and more defined. Her product line also worked for my older sister as well whom has a completely different texture than me. Her wash and go was stunning. Her hair advice saved my hair. 🙂
@@5pctLowBattery yes I do, and my hair has improved significantly, especially if you use them as the instructions say. The only product of hers that I have not tried yet was the gel. My hair is left manageable, soft, fluffy, and beautiful.
Thank you SO much for this information! People ask me over and over how I grew my hair long but honestly I think it’s because I stopped messing with it and trying to “fix” or change my texture with products. When I accepted the frizz and the fact that I have highly textured hair (and I worked WITH that and not against it) my hair started to thrive.
I use to drench my hair with water everyday and use the oils along with daily moisturizer and my hair follicles became dry which resulted in hair loss. Thank you for this information!!
Same thing happened to me! When I finally went to the salon, my stylist informed me that I had severe build up. She did a deep clarifying treatment and now It’s acting like normal!
When she said "Moknowshair," she meant it. I have learned soo much!
As my grandma used to say: "Speak the truth and shame the devil". Mo is always putting me on blast. Thank you for the science and common sense truth!
I really hope everyone is appreciating this. I have learned quite a lot. Thanks Mo. You're the best.
Very knowledgeable and articulate. Refreshing! No “so this is what my hair is looking like” or “if that makes sense”. No bashing or hyping products. Just knowledge.
I'm guilty of thinking my hair is dry based on how it feels and if it's frizzy. I'm still trying to learn my natural hair and what it needs you're vlogs are very informative and have learned I was doing everything wrong and using way to many products. I love what you said about accepting our hair for what it is definitely have to get to the root of the problem.
I realized something was terribly wrong when my hair frizzed out immediately after washing and styling. I started using a steamer with my deep conditioner. I realized I don’t do my hair often enough. I have got to get on that weekly wash schedule. It’s so hard😫
You can do it! It’ll get faster/easier as you go!
Tip: set a side a day or a weekend to wash and deep condition your hair. Take your time with your hair. My hair the same length as Mo hair and texture.
Mo is really out here preaching! I had to let go of how i thought my hair should look everyday. And it took time.
Thanks for debunking alot of myths. All of the "influencer" opinions out there can make folks lose their minds! And on the porosity tip, thank you for saying that! I've noticed that i have to make sure my hands are properly moisturized and neutralized when I touch my hair. The dryness I feel is often my hands not my hair. I can say so much more. I'm just glad that I'm finally hearing advice that makes sense. I've side-eyed so many of these UA-camrs!
“The dryness I feel is often my hands not my hair” I never thought of that before! I will definitely start moisturizing my hands before I touch my hair, thank you so much for that!
Omg you just dropped a real gem 💎. I’ve never thought that the dryness could be my hands either! Which by the way are almost always dry. Wow what a concept lol Thank you!
Subconscious biases 👏🏾👏🏾 this is the truth. I have personally had to go back and deal with those
This is the first time in a long time that i learned new about my hair
I remember when I first came across your channel many years ago. Can you do another video of different hairstyles when you are trying to get a few more days out of your wash in go? I remember you did one years ago and the styles were so cute and easy. Many thanks Mo!
Mo is here giving us all these precious advices and the scientific explanations to back it up, for free while my hairdresser that I pay doesn't. Well... Thank you so much Mo! You do really know hair!
Ok, I know nothing about my hair apparently .... Idk how my hair hasn’t all fallen off by now 😂. I have to rewatch with a pen and paper and take notes. I’m still blown away by the notion of not needing to apply conditioner before deep treatment.... so much to learn and UNlearn.
I feel you on this!! 😄.... especially that “UNlearn” part! 😑.
@@ayoolascott cringe thinking about those times I’d leave my treatments in for hours, and worse OVERNIGHT 😫😖😂. Thank god I found Mo!
@@Babs33 same!! 😑😳🤣
Wow...just wow. I have been binge watching her since last night and have realized how much I have been doing wrong and I'm so glad my hair is still in one piece🤦🏽♀️
Same lol
You are the girl!! When you said accept your hair for what it is really got me, you are so right. Thank you for educating us🥰
I tell people this all the time. You don't have to define your hair to fit some else's narrative or mimic them. Just be happy you have hair on your head.
Im 4a and rarely ever define my super frizzy hair. It defines on it's own enough without product and I don't care about the extreme frizz because that's what I was born to have.
So happy to hear this. I am forever defending my only after wash day moisturizing process. The nightly moisturizing and sealing process was just not going to work for me.
Same with daily nightly moisture...my scalp was a mess, and my hair was so build up with product at the end of the week I had to clarify twice!
Yessss! Love the point you made about refresher sprays and daily moisturizers. The only time i use them is when I’m styling an updo on hair that’s almost ready to be washed. I remember your point about washing more frequently and reevaluating what products you use a few years ago and it’s stuck with me ever since. When my hair is dry, i wash it.
Girl I feel like I just went to school.thank you 🙏🏼
Love your content Mo! That last video about conditioning and washing really changed it up for me. I used to feel like a lazy natural because this past year, i havent been layering my products and dont have a hair a schedule. I switched to silk pillow cases, getting professional curly cuts, and now I have an Ionic hair blow dryer. I now use just TWO products (detangler and oil mist serum) for my wash n go and my hair is light and airy and minimal frizz. Washing has been a breeze since skipping pre detangling (esp after my trim) and using your cleanser and deep treatment. It’s only been a month since all these changes and its a WOLRD of a difference💖
Great talk. So true and very scientific. I say wash properly, wash out condition or deep condition deepening on what's needed. Style and leave alone. Repeat and let it grow.
This was one of the most revealing and educational videos I’ve seen on this topic - all while debunking myths with facts. Thank you! I fall into that category of needing to “relax” because my curls are fine. 😉 THANK YOU!
💜🥂
Everytime I get overwhelmed with natural hair health I watch your videos. No nonsense facts.
This was so informational and educational. Thank you so much, I, for one, appreciate you taking the time to teach hair education.

This video is AMAZING!! I have been so stressed with my hair as I have been growing it out. I feel like I have a much better understanding over my curls and I have been overmanipulating. Thank you so much for your knowledge!
So professional and articulate.
Your hair is absolutely beautiful!! ❤️😍
I was a regular client of hers when she was in New York and she explained this very thing to me. Mo knows her stuff and she's absolutely wonderful!
🙏🏾💜thank you
Thanks for the education. I’ve learned so much with your past three videos. I’ve been trying to make my hair into something it is not. I will no longer do that and love what I have and take care of it.
Excellent haircare tips!!!! We need more of this in our community, FACTS, SCIENCE and Licensed Professionals!!!! Thank you!!!!
Mo knows hair, thank you. Love your videos. I always learn so much from you.
I’m glad you did this video because I know my hair is moisturized but the shine was not staying now I know why. My hair is very dark and my curls are so popping tight. Thank you so much for that explanation.
Ah! You know I live for your content. Another great video, Mo!!!
Thank you boo 😘💜
Can I like this three times? I’ve been in a real funk about my hair and this entire video has been so informative!!! Thank you Mo!!💜💜💜
The presentation of incredible information seen here in this video is TOP NOTCH. I do as little as possible with my hair and use less products (quality over quantity) but I still managed to learn something while watching this video Mo. I also have to make date to give my hair a steam as it loves water and it's been awhile. Thanks for all you do in this space.
GREAT one again Mo!!Sooo informative!you've nailed it again...appreciate your help and love for our textured hair!THANXXX
Best video for hair by far!! This is why I don't pre-poo, I don't seal my hair amongst other things. Never understood these methods. Thank you so much Mo!
I appreciate the information and the TRUTH about natural hair.
Ok! I’m getting ready to binge watch her videos!
Wow! Mo gave us a word on today. I needed to hear this.
I love your most recent content :) I think I've finally settled on a good hair care routine 🙏 thank you so much for your help
Cmon mental health analysis. Here for it! 🙌🏾
I have learned so much just from this one video. Thank you Mo, you definitely know your stuff.
I was literally just thinking all the products I was layering on my hair was making my hair dry and I was so right. Thanks for real confirmation in this video 🥰
Okay so this is more than educational hair information. Nice video and well explained ma'am! The background music is awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Such a very important video. So educational. It answered every question that was in my mind---without having to ask it. Thank you for your contributions to the natural hair community. Your information is extremely invaluable!
💜🙏🏾
Dropping all the knowledge today Mo!
Thank you for taking the time out to educate 💕
Oooo, girl how did you know I needed this?!?!
this was a really great video. thanks for the effort and time you put into putting this together.
I just love how you explained things omg very helpful ❤️
Thank you for your videos! ✨✨✨
I’d enjoy seeing a weekly vlog-style video where you show the progression of your hair from wash day and the days following. Mainly, showing when you know it’s time to wrap your hair into a bun after the product has faded?
Love this info! THANK YOU, you are a gifted & an excellent teacher! A blessing.
Your videos are amazingly awesome. I've been bing watching and enjoy watching your educated and knowledgeable approach to hair care.
So informative I am loving these vidoesssss Mo!!
Thank you Mo.. I always enjoy your videos!!!
I like all videos 2 seconds in, 😂❤️ I already know the knowledge is about to be on point!
Thank you so much, in one of your videos you did say sometimes you can use too much product. I was slathering my hair with moisture as it was so bleh. I just a smaller amount and it’s made so much difference and way softer and bouncier
Mo loving all the education, keep it coming please an thank you.
🗣YOU BETTER TEACH US🗣
