Origami king might've been considered bad for most people (imo i really loved the game) but ome think everyone needs to admit is that diversification of the main battle theme is something that in consequence to nailing it in origami king they're nailing it here aswell!!!
Origami King was a pleasant game, I just think people were bitter that it didn't reach the highs that they came to expect from playing the older games. I like that Nintendo is trying to innovate with new battle and upgrade systems, but the fans also have a point with "if it isn't broke, don't fix it." Also, most of Mario's recent adventures (starting with Sticker Star) have been confined to the Mushroom Kingdom. Hopefully, the next game will broaden the scope of Mario's world.
@@MinerMario true, i hope that with the remake of ttyd they realise that they can keep this formula going and maybe just innovate in the world mechanic department like the paint in color splash, using their innovative ideas on the world but keeping the same battle system as ttyd with some tweaks would be awesome (instead of crystal stars it could be tools used on crafts and such or even elemental powers) but always with the turn based & partner RPG type of game where mario mainly uses his hammer and boots with badges!!!
Origami King is the second best selling game in the series. Despite a vocal minority claiming it bad (that better be putting their money where their mouth is with TTYD), the overall opinion of the game is good.

Now this sounds like a variation. The instrumentation and direction here is wonderful. Unlike with the normal theme this gives a sense of seriousness, urgency like you'd get in a place like Hooktail Castle/Pit of 100 Trials due to the danger. One of the few new tracks i like.
I guess this is like Origami King's Unsettling Battle theme where it just plays whenever it feels like it fit, I can imagine it playing it Pirates Grotto too but I guess we'll see if I'm right or wrong about that Update: so I was wrong about Pirates grotto that still uses the ch5 battle theme which honestly suits it more, but it's used in the Pit of 100 Trials. It's also used in Poshley Sanctum and the outside of the Shadow Palace (which has no designated battle theme inside) so I guess this is kinda is just used for "unsettling areas" past Hooktails Castle
It is primarily for Hooktail's Castle, I mean it's literally in the Chapter 1 soundtest as "Battle - Hooktail Castle" and everything, but there's at least two other areas it turns up in too The first being the Pit of 100 Trials, which I guess is fitting considering a certain superboss waiting at the bottom the first time But then the other time I'm aware of is in Poshley Sanctum...for some reason I get that they might not have wanted to compose another battle theme variation just for one singular room in Poshley Heights but I feel like something like the Creepy Steeple version of the battle theme would've been more fitting
