    The alternators are the first to go on these since they sit low and get hit with all the mud water, my 07 was the exact same way. Kind of the achilles heel with taking these engines off road.

    You should open your alternator, i normally try to repair them instead using a Chinese one. Can be it ate the brushes cause the mud and sand.

      I should. It probably could of been repaired but I'm leaving to go on a trip soon and didn't really have time to "try fixing it". I've never opened one before. Is it hard? I might look that up...🤔

    It was like 18 months to 2 years most auto parts stores would have have what you needed. In pulling the alternator did you figure a way for a mini skid shield like a mini bicycle fender

    • @4wdAdventurz
      @4wdAdventurz  3 дні тому

      It's definitely doable.. probably could use the same bolts that hold the alternator on as the mounts. Not sure if the alternator would get too hot? It's already pretty tight done there lol

    did you do the vvcs disable? [unplug or pink depin]? - this looks like the variable voltage system wreaking havoc

    • @4wdAdventurz
      @4wdAdventurz  4 дні тому +1

      yes, it does. I initially thought the same thing. However, since replacing the alternator, the voltage has been very steady and not all over the place like it used to be. I mean, it varies a little bit, but within normal range ...
      I still would like to remove that system or unplug it if possible.
