      I have one more question I hope you don't mine. Could we use this G1on or G3 or G3n for pro? Thanks a lot.

      Pro as in, use the pedal professionally? Just want to make sure i understand the questions.

      Yes, use the pedal for professional gigs, or this is just practice pedal?. Thanks.

      I guess it is possible but I would think in a live venue a guitar might like a pedal that has more functionality. I think this is where the Zoom G3Xn shine. While play you can perform many functions with just your feet, like turning up to 3 effects on or off while playing a patch. This is also similar to the Digitech RP360XP. Back the G1on, as far as sound goes, I think it is possible but the G1on is plastic and probably not consider road worth.

    Are you able to set the delay to a BPM rather than ms?
    And also, are you able to finetune the ms so it’s exactly at the number you want rather than the options ony going in increments?
    And thank you for all of your videos on this pedal!

    • @Tone-Quest
      @Tone-Quest  6 років тому

      Thanks, much appreciated. I just looked over all the different delays in the Zoom G1on and I only see the options to set it based on Time (ms) but not BPM. I have seen some web sites that have a BPM Delay Time Calculator which might be handy if you need to make that conversion. In regards to fine tuning the Time (ms), the lowest increment is 1.

    Chris. I wonder whether you can help. I recently got a G1Xon on the strength of your demo videos which are excellent. However, the sound quality is terrible when I run it through my amp or my DAW. It seems to be better through headphones. The guitar is a Yamaha Pacifica J (ceramic pickups which are not great and rather brittle sounding). However, I have never had a problem when running a DI from my Roland Cube amp to my DAW so it seems to be down to the Zoom. Where am I going wrong?

    • @Tone-Quest
      @Tone-Quest  7 років тому

      Bummer, we want tones that inspire not frustrate. Are you using the Zoom G1Xon with default patch settings for now? I know the amp models have options in regards to their output, such as line out, combo amp, stack...etc. Wonder if one of those would make it better suited for your amp? BTW, what kind of amp are you using?

    • @MartinJG100
      @MartinJG100 7 років тому

      Hi Chris. Thanks for getting back so quickly. I am using a Roland Cube 30X for practice on the clean setting. However, I really want to be able to use the Zoom on my DAW. I have been using the default patches but I have been editing them as I go along and have deleted a lot of the amp models because they don't seem to work well through my practice amp. That said, I realise the amp models work better on headphones and PA systems for some reason and I would expect that to be the case on the DAW where there is just a signal with effects without the complication of going into an amp. If you have any ideas, let me know. Thanks.

    • @Tone-Quest

      MartinJG100 Can you explain your DAW setup? What components make up your DAW system?

    • @MartinJG100
      @MartinJG100 7 років тому

      Normal sequence with Guitar/Zoom G1Xon/Interface/DAW. I normally set the guitar signal in at @ 30 on the interface which is about right when I record DI from my amp.The first thing I noticed with the Zoom was that the signal in was very hot so I reduced the master level on the menu down to 25 to avoid sound distortion while keeping the interface level in at 30. Even at this low level there is a hint of sound distortion with slightly heavier playing and I am playing very gentle ambient style picking! However, there is no indication of actual clipping on the levels which is a bit odd. In a nutshell, I seem to have difficulty getting a decent balanced signal.

    • @Tone-Quest
      @Tone-Quest  7 років тому +1

      How are you connecting the Zoom to the computer? Do you have a USB Audio Interface? I agree, sound like you having issues getting the right line level or a balanced signal.

  • @TheMusicIsMyParadise

    How did you go about recording in stereo for the stereo delay? I’m tried and failed to record in stereo through my Zoom, using a 1/4 TRS to an XLR cable.
    Would a 1/4 TRS to a dual 1/4 TS cable inputted into two separate channels into my audio interface record in stereo? I’m trying to see if it’s possible to record in stereo without two amps.
    Also this is the same person who asked the question about the delay a while ago, thanks for your vids on this pedal again, it definitely helped with my decision to buy it.

    • @Tone-Quest
      @Tone-Quest  6 років тому

      Hey Buddy, yes you should be able to record in stereo by using a cable like the "Hosa STP-203 1/4 inch TRS to Dual 1/4 inch TS Insert Cable". You could come directly out of the Zoom G1on with the Hosa cable and then into your audio interfaces (provided you have two interfaces on your audio interface). I've also done this but ran the output from the cable into two different amps, so I could play in stereo...very cool effect. The sound can get nice and fat or every ethereal. #goodLuck

    Y do u need to use joyo amp simulation pedal? Doesnt zoom G1on have amp simulation built-in?

    • @Tone-Quest
      @Tone-Quest  4 роки тому +1

      No, you are correct you don't have to use the Joyo amp sim. At the time, I was just trying to demonstrate how it would sound through an amp. This was also when I first purchased the Zoom G1 and hadn't learned the best way to use the pedal.

    Hi Chris,,,just wanna ask how can i save any of my demos with this pedal? thanks

    • @Tone-Quest
      @Tone-Quest  7 років тому

      Not sure understand the question fully. Do you mean how can you save the patch settings or the audio from the demo?

    • @micolidarlin
      @micolidarlin 7 років тому

      i mean can i save the drum first and then put an acoustic after that a solo, save the drum first then the acoustic and then solo?

    • @Tone-Quest
      @Tone-Quest  7 років тому

      Save it within the pedal, like in a loop? You can layer guitar sounds but not the rhythm or drum tracks. You can play a drum track and layer the loop while the drum track is running but the looper will only save what is coming into the pedal, which is normally the guitar.
      You could do everything you mentioned if you recorded into an external multi-track recorder or your PC.

    How would you make a Roland Space Echo patch on this? Tape Echo - Filter delay - reverse delay and some reverb?

    • @squishmusic
      @squishmusic 4 роки тому +1

      ok, I set it as a challenge to you :D I have the B1on pedal. I was looking to get another pedal for shimmer/tape delays then wondered if its possible with this unit (B1 or G1). I have only used presets a bit as I am no effects-engineer...so appreciate your inputs/ideas for this. =)

    • @Tone-Quest
      @Tone-Quest  4 роки тому

      @@squishmusic Since the Roland RE-201 Space Echo is an audio effects unit that produces delay and reverb effects, I would probably lean toward using the Zoom G1on's TapeEcho + HD Hall Reverb or possibly the Hall or Room Reverb depending on the amount of reverb I wanted.

    • @Tone-Quest
      @Tone-Quest  7 років тому

      Normally if you go to the end of the "Time" range on a Delay, at the very end you will see the different note options. Not all Delay support this but that is usually where you find those options. For example, on the Zoom G1on those options exist on Delay, Tape Echo, Reverse Delay, Multi Tap delay, FilterDly & Stereo Delay.

    Does this unit have a pitch shifter in?

    • @Tone-Quest
      @Tone-Quest  8 років тому +1

      Yes sir, the G1on has four different ones:
      Detune - By mixing an effect sound that is slightly pitch-shifted with the original sound, this effect
      type has a chorus effect without much sense of modulation.
      PitchSHFT - This effect shifts the pitch up or down
      MonoPitch - This is a pitch shifter with little sound variance for monophonic (single note) playing.
      HPS - This intelligent pitch shifter outputs the effect sound with the pitch shifted according to scale and key settings.
