I picked one up a few weeks ago and it's pretty cool I guess. Not the most user friendly though and I wonder how the design team forgot to add and 'ON/OFF' switch. Also, would it have killed ya' to include a power source?
Is there one on the Zoom G1X Four?
I've been using a Roland GR 30 synth, so I needed a small portable, inexpensive muti-effects box. I'm very pleased with this little Zoom G1 Xon !
Take your time and program a good CLEAN patch first. Because there is NO bypass, you'll need to scroll into your CLEAN (bypassed) patch. Distortions aren't too bad and the reverbs and delays are impressive. When I need more, I'll use the Zoom G3X (I like).
So, if you carry many things in your rig, but need to be light, portable and flexible, these Zoom units are great value for the buck!

Hi! I bought my g1on last Friday. A few suggestions for firmware 1.22.
1. Press and hold ENTER for 2 seconds to turn the pedal on.
2. Press menu and looper button to toggle speaker simulations on and off.
3. Allow display inversion. Orange stands out better than black. Maybe even if you could add some setting to adjust the hue of the display. That would be awesome.
4. I'm almost blind. I would really love to see added an editor for the PC to alter patches there. Easier to read black text on white, rather then black text on orange.

WHOOT! now I know how to turn it on!!! Not in the manual, not in the demos... I'm nearly done with it already.

When i want to add an effect i press add, but how do i scroll through the effect categories? I hold down the blue triangle but cant get it to scroll through the effects? What am i missing?
I saw in another youtube video there is a way to toggle the wah on and off inside of a single patch. Anyone have any insight into this ?

Hi! Just got my G1Xon, and am starting to get acquainted with it.
Quick question - how can I use it to turn a specific effect on and off? like a "regular" pedal, I want to select an effect (e.g. - overdrive) and then turn it on, and then turn it off, returning to a clean sound, and not switching to another effect instead. How do I achieve this?

I don't know for a fact the answer, but I think your best option is to switch to a preset with no effects. I don't think this pedal gives the option of turning on and off single effects within a chain, but with some preplanning you should be able to effectively do this by switching to different presets. If you want to have something closer to a real pedalboard with switches for individual effects, invest in the G3n instead.
If you're just wanting to alter overdrive, you can set the pedal to be an on/off switch and still keep the other effects running continuously
i havent seem one of them in nearly 20 years!, great pedals!, A4 i think it was, that was the setting and effect i loved, good sustain and waa-waa, mild square wave
is there any way to stomp individual FX on and off in the chain like you can with the G3/B3?

I'd buy this jst for reverb FX. A single low end reverb FX pedal cost minimally 50, and this thing cost 50. The amp models sound terrible tho. But for 50, u get a tuner, reverb, and many other FX that sound half way decent, looper with nice drum tracks. Can't beat it for the price.

Very happy with the unit, only one thing -- I can't figure out for the life of me how to add a reverb. All I want to do is add a heavy reverb to patch D6 and every time I go to the Dly/Rvb selection, it only offers me the variety of delays. Do I need to manipulate one of the delays to turn it into a reverb? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Remember only 5 fx per patch.You probably need to delete 1 effect from the patch so you can add the reverb.
hello !do the delays go to 100% wet so you can not hear the initial note you play on the guitar but only the repeats ?

This model contains various sims of signature tube amps right? so my dumb question is: can I run this one (or the G1N) through simple cheap desktop speakers? and of course I'm not talking about studio monitors or active speaker witch I can't afford. I was just wondering if the output line signal is principally quite low, so why it's powerful enough for headphones but not for regular loudspeakers? Is it necessary to have some sort of amplification?

Enjoying! I'd love to be able to stop both the looping AND the drums somehow with a single pedal input. Like if i'm playing with people it's a little awkward that the drum keeps going and you gotta switch back from LOOP into RHYTHM then push stop.

The G1Xon & B1Xon do not have an audio interface feature.
How to u plug this to an amplifier for stage use, since it's got only stereo out? Where's the mono output? Or do u guy designed this to use with only a Bluetooth speaker which has stereo aux?
If you connect a TS cable to the stereo out, it will be mono.

I bought mine today (G1ON) and I wanted to know if there is an option or something to use a metronome (I'm talking about the looper section) instead of having to play some drum pattern first and then stop it, thanks in advance.
There's a metronome that counts you in that mimics the beat of whatever drum pattern you have ready for looping, it also has just a regular metronome to play along with as well, so no matter what you're always on time when starting a looper track, i like it a whole lot, it's a nice little pedal

You can perform a factory reset to restore to default patches.

Yes, this can be done using the PDL Pitch effect.

How do you make specific patches be next to each other? I want to put the "crystal vibe" effect RIGHT next to the "Filters" effect so I can switch back and forth between them, but they are not together originally on the pedal and are far apart.

Technically, that is correct. You can turn effects on/off within a patch, but only when editing the patch (check pg. 10 in the manual). If you want to bypass and effect (or a clean bypass), you'd have to set up a separate patch.
I've got this MFX process and it's amazing, given the price point, even with its minor limitations.

If they're powered desktop speakers, yes you can, but you'll need a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter to step it down to the speaker connector size (or headphones if you wish). When I travel I take this thing with me and just plug my headphones in. (There is a master volume in the G1 that helps out when using headphones.)

Yes, the G1Xon can be used with acoustic guitar. You should check out our Zoom A3, which is an effect pedal specifically designed for acoustic!

Just firmware updates right now, and it's unlikely to ever get an update which will allow for recording. If you're looking for recording to PC, I'd recommend the G3 range (G3/B3, G3ex G5n), they also allow you to edit patches with software.

If you are using batteries, you will need to unplug the input cable. If you are using a power adapter, you will need to unplug it.

Ohh, too bad. I was hoping that this unit can be connected to a PC like G2.1Nu to be used as an audio interface, but the latter model is already discontinued.
This pedal has no bypass feature.......unless you set a patch to have nothing but bypass....but then you have to go back to that patch anytime you want to bypass the pedal.
I think that's why it's named the G1on......because it's ALWAYS on.
Tuner mode is your bypass
