This 308rebuild project was really good from the begining. It was nice to see how your channel grew! Sadly I’ve watched through all 28 episodes in 3 days :( so it looks like I’ll have to jump on older videos :D keep up the good work man! Brilliant videos!
The bracket for the bumper that bolts to the bumper (r/h on your vid) you can make out of two "L" shaped brackets back to back. That gives you the "T" shape bracket that bolts to the bumper without welding. Make the part of the "T" that goes to the body a bit longer so you can mark on the body the level the bracket needs to be at to mount the bumper. Then make the funny shaped flat second bracket that bolts to the body but align the part that points forwards with the marks from the bumper bracket. Make the bracket, then drill the slotted holes so the body mounted and the bumper mounted brackets can be bolted together and the bumper adjusted forward/backwards. Trim the excess off the brackets and bolt together.
I suppose by drilling holes (and perhaps making some bends) you could bolt the bracket pieces together. Once lockdown ends in 2023, add some spot welds or replace with the preferred solution.
I love how you are dealing with all your builds. Can't wiat to see when you get a F40. I have a e39 M5 that is not perfect and I jsut keep taking stuff out of it. Removed about 400 lbs so far. The sunroof broke so I pulled it out and welded it up. Keep up the good work, Cheers.
Another ace video. For the bumper brackets why dont you cut 2 straight pieces and bolt them together as an interim. Use 2 bolts for strength. You'll be able to make sure the size is right then, and cut and weld when lockdown ends.
You should buy a welder. It's very handy, and these new inverter ones, don't push too much from the building electric system. With the amount of thin materials you work on, like body panels, better go with a MIG one, instead of a Stick welder. You can try some new fluxcore ones, without gas use. But buy one with more than 120A (Amps).
Seeing the front valence in place, painting the car black on the upper side and orange on the underside would look quite cool. Unlike many more modern designs, the separation line looks perfectly straight the entire way around the car.
Very much enjoying watching the 308 Transformation .. had no idea the wight savings on the bumpers alone represent so much :-( would have been interesting to see the car weighted on a 4 wheel scale before and after to exactly see how much total weight is saved per corned and as well see how the fore /aft weight balance shifts or remains the same :-)
There’s plenty of metal fabricators open atm Scott. I can get some made up for you if you know the dimensions. I’m going to Mcnealy Brown ltd tomorrow to get wheels refurbished, they do everything with metal. Just need measurements. Up to you bud 😊
I think the bumper brackets should be 3mm plate at least. I think you can cut and bend, then eliminate the welded nuts and just use through bolts. You can cut with angle grinder and bend in a vice with hammer. Great videos.
I can imagine that, in addition to Mike's front bumper brackets, it shouldn't be too difficult to fab up some intermediediary lightweight metalwork to act as a simple form of crumple-zone - just a few pieces at the right angles to be effectively disposable but also resistant to only light bumps. What do you think?
There must be a few Ratarossa followers within 100 miles of you that have yards of scrap pipe and flat steel and a welding rig that can fabricate some bumper mounts for you Scott. Come on Ratarossers!. Help out your favorite Ferrari UA-camr!.
You can cut out the bracket pieces to match the shape of the flat piece and cut out a long straight rectangle shape and bend it 3 times at the end to bolt onto bumper to look like a hook
What a crazy place for a blower right in front..wouldnt that rust up and blow dirt everywhere? Love the vids.. maintenance stuff is my fave..but all mods and stuff are great. I dont miss any of em!
I know its a different world away but I put yellow lenses fog lights on my E36 Bmw convertible, believe it or not couldn't get any in Europe and had to get them from California in the end, cant send you a picture of it on here but they look better than stock. 👍
George Bernard Shaw once wrote "Britain and The USA are two countries separated by the same language".......the dripping sarcasm regarding the "'orrible" American bumper extension is evidence of this! hahahaha! Greetings from Canada!
Cut the metal out you need and instead of the weld cut the horizontal a little longer overlap the 2 pieces then drill and pot rivet for a temp measure they should be strong enough for the bumper
I enjoy your clips! But I must say, why do so many put yellow (french) lamps on italian cars? You wont find any italian yellow light cars. What are your plans for the US sidemarker lamps? Delete & flush fill the surfaces? On another note - I just did the same job on my Alfa 75 America, the front shocks & brackets were 5.5kg alone! Bumper was 16kg so 21.5kg alone, I’m guessing the rear is similar weight...
You could cut the T piece as a single piece, then cut two strips that bolt to the bumper, bend them then use the bolts to hold it all together. If nothing else will let you mock it up.
Thanks for the cool and helpful videos you make. Im a big poor Ferrari fan, who hopefully soon buy my first Ferrari and therefore your videos are worth gold🇬🇧 A cool project would be if you bought a DeLorean😊😊🕺🕺😁 I have one now and it is really a cool and unique classic car. Ronnie from Denmark
Love rivets if you got em' center punch, hammer, drill of the right size. center punch your paterns on one side get the first couple started drill the rest so there all neat ( Got Clecko's ) make wood or plastic , card board template paterns since you'll get dual use outta them. the first design dos'nt have to be the last this ground hog day sh#t is suposed to make you try new things and maybe fail maybe you'll be one of the lucky one's and discover somthing new
twin turbo the 308 and let those turbsies hang out, and a diffuser with struts... no need for a rear bumper.... and would be amazing!!!... finding a good stand alone engine management and no more ferrari electrical problems?!
There seems to be an obsession with the weight differences in the conversion. Each heavy duty US piece you remove helps shed weight, but you are eliminating more robust protection from front and rear impact areas. Serious racers need to be concerned with shedding weight for speed, but when you're using vehicles as daily drivers, such as yourself, it might not be the worst thing to have some heavier safe guards.
When I saw Ratarossa removing an original Ferrari bumper with a paint scraper and a mallet, I realized I have another brother on a different continent.
He said the bracket is slotted for left-right adjustment. Double nut the threaded stud and you have up-down adjustment. The single point allows swivel aiming adjustment. Keep it simple.
Might be a reason why the US spec. cars have heavier bumpers. Here's an idea for a fun video: Put your car back together with those horrible US spec. bumpers. Get together with your friend Mike and his Euro spec. 308 and drive them both into a wall at 10 mph. Then compare the cost of putting them back together. Guaranteed more than 26k views, and perhaps an epiphany about US spec. Ferraris.
No bumpers, no DOT compliant bumpers, then the car is not street legal in the US. I'm guessing it is similar in the UK. Any copper having a bad day can see you and cite you for it. And here, they can tow it away and leave you standing on the ride of the road.
Make holes and use rivets in place of the welder - will look more OEM as well :)
CAV M thats a pretty good idea... I wonder if it would generate a vibration?
I was expecting Sooty & Sweep to appear when you started your magic tricks...
"Izzy-Wizzy, let's get busy!"
Mark Chippendale 😂😂😂👍🏻
Definitely looks much better with front and rear bumpers 👍🏼love the fog lights too
I think I've got a pair of those yellow fog lamps in my barn in France. You can have if you want them for the cost of postage. 👍
Love the magic wand Scotty Copperfield. Wish I had one. Seems to really save time on Italian cars!
love the 308 series! keep on going, it's great to see you working on your own ferraris
getting god to be cinematographer on your production, turning a lens flair into an angelic halo as you were cutting with that jigsaw ...impressive.

@15.15 the camera is perfectly aligned to look like you're cutting in to the 355 bumper! Brilliant lol
You need to tap out the dent below the drivers side headlight.
j'adore vos vidéos , je profite dans ce confinement de votre passion partagée , avec le chant des mesanges en fond , sympa .

Nice job working with what you’ve got! 🍻
Love this car! Your smashing it atm bro great content! Would love to come and hang for a day when the lockdown is over!
Use aluminum (aluminium) bar stock or thin wall tubing. Bend to position, or rivets. Tubing can be bent then hammered flat.
I'm sure that I'm not the 1st to say this; the orange front valance looks totally fantastic. I would keep it just like that
Very much enjoying watching the 308 Transformation .. had no idea the wight savings on the bumpers alone represent so much :-(

i am digging the orange and black colour combo. maybe consider making this a 2 tone ferrari 308.
I think the bumper brackets should be 3mm plate at least. I think you can cut and bend, then eliminate the welded nuts and just use through bolts. You can cut with angle grinder and bend in a vice with hammer.
Great videos.
Yeah, I think that as well. It'll stiffen up the whole structure.
Looking great. But please clean the cobwebs away😂 driving me nuts🤣🤣🤣
Take care. Forza 308
Like the Euro spec bumper & yellow fog lamps, but the original small chin spoiler valance is way cleaner looking.
13:45 ... BRO...is that a Keter work table? Sweet.
New to the channel and loving it, thankyou.🙏👍💯
Never knew those us bumpers weighed soo much. Your car is starting to look great.
Love the videos Scott. Cibie fog lights, that’s a blast from the past! Where did you get the Ray Ban lookalikes? 😎
I did not realize the British practiced the art of sarcasm.
We are the best
@@LOTPOR0402 Sarcasm is an art form in the UK.
It's not common knowledge, but sarcasm is accually the official language of the UK. 🇬🇧 🎶🤔
We bloody invented it, then perfected it...
Monty Python,....check them out. They can lay it on thick and heavy.

nice idea Mark
Can you bond the pieces together?
There must be a few Ratarossa followers within 100 miles of you that have yards of scrap pipe and flat steel and a welding rig that can fabricate some bumper mounts for you Scott.
Come on Ratarossers!. Help out your favorite Ferrari UA-camr!.
The front bumper is a must, but having no back bumper with some killer exhaust would be kickass.
The one dislike is from some one with a US spec car seeing how much is involved in the conversion
You could use your sheet of metal and use a nut and bolt instead of a weld for the t piece. 2 bolts would be secure enough I'd of said.
Use two L shaped strips of metal sheet back to back to make the T shaped bumper bracket only cutting, bending and drilling, no welding😉
Keep the exhaust placement stock. Love 2 x 2 style. Lovly car you got it will be epic! :D
Entertaining as always...keep it up!
When the wand came out I was hoping sooty would appear 😂👍
(You beat me to it!)
Incredible weighr saving! Hold on with This interesting matters thanks
Nope... not a coffee... a glass of red wine!! Having just polished my Aston... which I’m tempted to make into a Ratston Martin DB9
Love the content keep it up 👍
Can you just collapse those bumper shocks like they do on the Porsche 944, drill on hole in the back and push in, sets the bumper back nicely.
Cut the metal out you need and instead of the weld cut the horizontal a little longer overlap the 2 pieces then drill and pot rivet for a temp measure they should be strong enough for the bumper
I used to cut and grind metal at my housing estate home in the UK occasionally, it was so damn noisy though! Are you on good terms with the neighbors?
Go with a rear bumper.
I enjoy your clips! But I must say, why do so many put yellow (french) lamps on italian cars? You wont find any italian yellow light cars.
What are your plans for the US sidemarker lamps? Delete & flush fill the surfaces?

8:15 - Gordon Ramsey: *"It's rotteeen!"*
When measuring US federal bumper parts, please use SAE, haha. BTW we lovingly call those federal bumpers “park benches”.
Great stuff! Love it!
You could cut the T piece as a single piece, then cut two strips that bolt to the bumper, bend them then use the bolts to hold it all together. If nothing else will let you mock it up.
You need a welder. You should have had one four score and 7 years ago.
Thanks for the cool and helpful videos you make.
Im a big poor Ferrari fan, who hopefully soon buy my first Ferrari and therefore your videos are worth gold🇬🇧
A cool project would be if you bought a DeLorean😊😊🕺🕺😁
I have one now and it is really a cool and unique classic car.
Ronnie from Denmark
I believe you could make a 3D print of them if you wish - and BAM - no welding! :o)
No bumper look is awful
The car would look good in that orange color
You rock dude. my 360 leaks some fluid and will not go into gear when I first start it up but I’ll restart it and it works. . . .your thoughts
Would be fun to see the weight savings in percent of the stock car when it is all done.
Adding lightness
the mic makes such a huge difference !!!!!!!!!!!
What an improvement :)
Just for the record..... I only suggested forgoing the bumper on the front. Doing it on the rear.... 😬
Just cut the ‘T’ piece like a ‘H’ and bend the end. Will do for mock up at least?
I was going to say that :) and if you can't bend, use a bolt and two pieces.
I was going to suggest both! And great for template of final structural pieces.
Cut the brackets out of the sheet metal into a triangle as opposed to the welded T
you give me hope that I can one day own a Ferrari mate
Love rivets if you got em' center punch, hammer, drill of the right size. center punch your paterns on one side get the first couple started drill the rest so there all neat ( Got Clecko's ) make wood or plastic , card board template paterns since you'll get dual use outta them. the first design dos'nt have to be the last this ground hog day sh#t is suposed to make you try new things and maybe fail maybe you'll be one of the lucky one's and discover somthing new
Plug the back bumper mate , you know it makes sense
Bumpers!
Love to see a street mechanic doing Ferraris, thats the way boys.
Did the car take a lite bite to the front end to push everything up?
twin turbo the 308 and let those turbsies hang out, and a diffuser with struts... no need for a rear bumper.... and would be amazing!!!... finding a good stand alone engine management and no more ferrari electrical problems?!
10:28 too many burgers xDD
Auch ich liebe Snap-on Werkzeug, it´s lovely !!
Wanna say I appreciate the mic ;)

Mad Max Ferrari
Front no but backend you could go without rear bumper
How will you align the fog lights? By bending the brackets?
He said the bracket is slotted for left-right adjustment. Double nut the threaded stud and you have up-down adjustment. The single point allows swivel aiming adjustment. Keep it simple.
U plan on getting the immobiler updated like samcrac
The brackets are not strong enough. The fog light will shake and rattle.

Where did you get the work table??
I could possibly 3d print them

Lyfan Deth no cop in the US would not know the difference, my friend got pulled over in his testarossa and cop put f40
Snap-on? Overpriced jingle-jangle 😂😂
Halfords advanced just as good fraction of the cost
Mark cbay snap on lifetime guarantee and the van comes to you , I bet your Halfords guru won’t do that eh !!!!!
Don’t “bumper delete” front or rear - no need to spoil original lines and design
If you think the American Ferrari is overweight, you should see the drivers!
Thanks for posting, I was about to loose it and start attacking "those people". appreciate.
Just cut out two T shaped brackets per side and drill the appropriate holes.
Soo it’s the one and only CORONA STALION🤣
Got Rivets?
What about the color of the Grey car....
