How We Built the Ultimate Cammed / Supercharged NBS Silverado Street Truck

- We take a boring '99 GMC Sierra, and turn it into a tire shredding, corner carving machine. We used the best products in the industry from QA1, Magnuson, Texas Speed, Speed Engineering and so on.
We only title as a Silverado for search reason on UA-cam. We are fully aware the difference of a Sierra and Silverado, as this isn't our first truck we have done.

That truck is perfect for everyone. Not overdone not under. No stupid high gloss paint with horses airbrushed into the tailgate. Just a manly truck. Good job.
Thank you!
Where can I look at info for my 2002 Silverado
This guys is talking about 20 years ago with those airbrushed horses 😂
Bro jst wanted to be racist
@@hondaservicecenter nothing to do with race lmao
Excellent! All you need now is a chrome delete and a satin clear coat to lock in the patina. What a great performing truck
Easiest way to get the bolt out instead of dropping the gas tank is to cut the bolt and then install a new one facing outwards. Saved me a lot of time
Weight reduction😎
Which bolt?

@@Chase.bachler ahh true. Thanks
Takuaches in the comment section: “take notes cuh” 😂
🤣🤣
He needs them traction bars so he don’t wheel hop
Exactly what I’m doing cuz I got an NBS 2004 with the 4.8 😂
Love those rims and shes perfectly lowered!!
I've been debating on redoing the lowering kit on my truck and this just sold me
What a great truck. i had a crew cab version a few years back and this was the end goal before i went stupid and bought a jeep. i still miss that truck.
Love the set up! love the truck overall awesome work and video. 👌👍👍
I own 2 of these short beds 04 sierra and 00 Silverado both with the 4.8s beautiful rigs. Always fun to wrench on!
That’s nice I see some future mods for my turbo daily single cab build!
Sweet Truck Build guys! I just bought a 03 sierra on saturday and cant wait to get some parts from you guys. Im in cali so the go fast will be a bit tough but everything else will be great!
Just bought a Silverado recently too. Good luck with your build! I hear it’s getting rough in Cali
Very cool. Can't wait to get some things done on my C10 Squarebody
Truck came out pretty clean Travis! Might go this route myself one of these days!
Truck is fire 🔥. I’m doing my step dad old GMC Sierra 1500. Right now just put Flow masters on this week
This is perfect and almost exactly what I want to do with my RCSB.
Awesome NBS daily 💪🏼
Awesome wish you guys could work on my obs love the work you guys do
He's right that really is the truck sweet spot.
I love it! I just picked up a 04 yesterday will be doing something similar but probably a turbski. Cool little pickup!
Thanks!
Badass little truck I want one now 😂
2wd is great for a daily. Handles well, good mpg, and hauls ass!
Pure performance 👏 🙌 👌
Coilovers are my now my next project on my NBS..... Also, get you an HD hood (will need a little work around the headlights, but easy and worth it).
I’m definitely putting coil overs on my single cab turbo nbs build now once I get it running which is soon
Killin it!
Great Look!
Beautifully done! I recently LQ9 swapped my 05 with 222k and have already been getting bad ideas floating around my head of...um...let's call it an intake manifold Vacuum elimination kit 🤣
Man I'm jealous lolll. Wish I had the money to drop in my 1999 shortbed silverado. One day though. Thanks for the inspiration bro.
I did almost the same setup in my 05 a few years ago but 4.8L with a 2300 magnuson made just over 500 to the tire was my favorite daily wish I kept it that way
I am hoping to get closer to 500 when we get up to 9.5 pounds of boost.
@@AZProPerformance I have a new RDS spacer for that blower when you turn the boost up it helps a lot. I was going to set it up for meth injection under the supercharger lid so it doesn’t hurt the rotors but I never did before I sold the setup and went turbo. If you want it shoot me a DM you can have it
@@1320sbc Awesome man and really appreciate that! Message sent.
I wish you did too
Y’all seem super knowledgeable I just bought a 4.3 I plan on doing a swap to the vortec 5.3 how well do these motors hold a charger? Y’all get any longevity out of yours or were y’all just racing it?
They make it seem so easy. Or maybe it was because I did mine in my drive way and turbo it.
wow , that is amazing and so awesome that you did NOT have to butcher and cut the frame to get a Lower stance , very nice ,and you have all the strength of the frame too , can you post the model of that drop kit you did on the rear please , thanks man , love the look , great job ! i want 1 of those super chargers uggg
Great video
Wheels look awesome. Great Job on the build. I have an 02 Tahoe and I fell in love with the way those wheels look. Are those wheels Dubs S205 LUXE? Thanks 💯
Exacly my truck same year same cab same everything I love this truck
update I sold it 2 weeks ago
This thing is supa sweet😎
So glad to see the NBSs getting some love. I've been wondering what to do to wake up the 4.8 in my RCSB 01 Sliverado!
@@jason3211 R.C.S.B.- Regular Cab Short Bed/Box
Find a 6.0 and swap it in. Ask me how I know lol
Boost it the 4.8 has some of the best rods for boost you’ll love it man
Cam it, bigger injectors, throttle body spacer, long tube headers, some new heads, let that thing breathe

I would have added a new set of roller rockers and matching springs to eliminate the excessive wear to the valve guides (and entire valve train) that high-lift cams cause on the Gen 3/4 motors.
Good tip! Gonna try to remember this for my build as well.
I always go to Cordes good guys!
It doesnt have everything you need... It has everything you want 💪🏻

I’ve been drivin a 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 single cab for 7 years

How do the lowering leaf springs handle corners and dips?
Love this truck ... Make an update video on this plz !!
Thanks! A good customer actually ended up buying the truck and is enjoying it!
tryna do sumn like this in the summer
Perfect stance, I'm gonna have to copy tire size and drop. I need tires, and have the same truck, other than a 408 stroker, I've thought about a blower, but already a handful. Big thanks, it's just the way I want mine to look
Could you do a complete parts list on this?
Love this built, did one like this but more motor 😂
I have a 4.8 rwd ext cab that I’m trying to convert into a ss clone 6.0-6.2 haven’t decided ? What should I expect in a complete build ? Could it be done for 10k??
How many days did it take for you to get this truck built? And how much was in?
What does it take to install a 4l80 in place of a 4l60 do you have to program the ecm?
Immediately a new truck once it was lowered 🔥
Nice!
That black Silverado ss in the back
Do you guys remember what texas speed camshaft and valvesprings were put in the truck?
Clean
Awesome build , love it !!! Total cost in parts , ? …13k
I want to say the rotors are directional and I thought I seen one on the wrong side. I'm not certain tho. Sweet build I want to get a street truck project started
Thanks! Rotors are directional and do have them on correctly. Most guys think the pattern goes the other way, but indeed it is correct here.
At 11:18, buddy definitely had the driver's side rotor on the passenger rear, lol. You can see the "L" on it, and after the cut-away shot, you can see the pattern is reversed. Good catch though, I've seen guys run them backwards and not even realize it
@Joe R thanks man I didn't even notice it switched after it cut away haha
Truck looks awesome. How wide was the rim you used.
Nice i have an 03 cateye with an LS3 at 480whp
If money wasn't a problem, I'd love to do that to my 02 gmc sierra stepside w/ that 4.8.
I originally felt like those HP guesses were low. I mean cam, exhaust, Cold air intake, etc should net a 4.8 north of 300 whp. I would expect more after a blower. But, I guess they didn't increase injector size or pump size and also depends on what fuel they are running.
Yes, but remember, we are only at 5.5 pounds of boost which is light. It will go to a smaller pulley next week, to get 9.5 pounds of boost. Injectors are bigger and have more to give when we up the boost, without changing them. Just pump gas here.
Great video!!! So it was five g's for the truck... And how much for labor and parts? Asking for a friend.
Is there a part number for those leaf springs?
I didn’t see any mention of a c-notch, did it ever bottom out? Looking to do the same but was wondering if I should order the c-notch at the same time.
i was wondering can u do a 87 chevy short wide. i really want to see that build
Why not look into the 2019+ Silverado 4 piston calipers, or the C6 ZR1 calipers on the front and C7 Corvette calipers on the back? I've got a Brembo BBK on my Yukon and am going to do the C7 rear calipers. I got the Brembo kit before I knew about the C6 ZR1/2019+ Silverado calipers.
Could have left it the way it was and it's still PERFECTION. Every man would agree.
What fuel pump did you use? What size injectors? Did you have to go returnless with the fuel rail on that blower set up? I’m building a 2000 Silverado very similar to what you did. I’m thinking about using the whipplecharger though. Awesome build man!
Thanks man! It is a Aeromotive 450 we adapted to the stock basket. The Magnuson comes with injectors and a regulator that makes it a returnless basically. You'll like it a lot.
How do those leafs effect towing
I have a clean 2001 silverado, i dont want a turbo on it, but i do want a super charger preferebly a twin screw, which one would work with my 5.3?
Great stance! What about wheel backspacing? How much offset ?
They are off the shelf DUB wheels and believe its a +30. Its a 20x9.5 wheel.
@@AZProPerformance are these 20x9 or 9.5? i can only find them in a 9.5 wide for 22”
@@wilmillah They are 20x9's. Give us a call, we are a dealer and can get them. 480-420-8175.
Nice
Y'all should be qualified to be part of powernation.
What throttle cable bracket did you use? I need one for mine
Would’ve liked to seen how you ran the exhaust
I have an 02 NBS, the 4.3L just took a sht, educating myself on options. I be damned putting another 4.slow liter in it
Lol mine is probably about to die on me it misses so much it sounds like rolling 2 step . But I have a gmc with a 5.3 as a donor for my Chevy
I have a 4.3 in mine as well but its running 👍🏽
I’m looking to do something very similar on a ‘01 Silverado with a 5.3. What’s the turnkey cost for this total upgrade?
Love this build, couldn’t have done it any better!
cheaper and better than 2021 models :)
Those wheels look perfect. Where did you get them?
Thanks! We sell them.
hello when you removed the overload spring how did it ride
Did you guys rebuild the internal of the motor at all, I noticed the odometer had like 250k. Solid truck tho I love it
It was a 1-owner truck, so very clean. However, it already had a Jasper rebuilt 4.8 in it, with 10k on the odometer.
Would this brake kit work with bigger wheels? Looking at putting 22s if possible
Yep, sure would.

I actually think it's a good number 390 to the wheels is no slouch. I have a 03 silverado rcsb 4.8 I want to cam and supercharge if I can get 39 off 5.5 lbs I'll be happy great video
*390
If you build the 4l60 to a stage 4 would it hold up ?
How much would something like this run to have done? I’ve got an 01 5.3L & would like to get something similar.
Do you guys make a whole kit for the 2/4 drop that’s on this truck?
We sure do! Ours was double adjustables, but offer in a single adjustable too.

I have a restored 1997 4x4 suburban with a 5.7 vortec crate. I wish to install a cam and supercharger. What transmission and rear end changes would you recommend?
I would do a 4L80E and a good Posi unit in the stock rear end. You can build the 4L60 to handle the power increase, but our opinion is to just skip that, and go right to the stronger 4L80.
I NEED THE REAR END DIFFERENTIAL DONE TO MY 2011 AVALANCHE
Bro this truck is so beautiful let me have it
I like it man but dang I would have been disappointed with that power level I did 450hp/435ish trq with a cam only 6.2 swap on my silverado it’s on my channel
how's the 5.3 with the same setup
I was under the impression you had to pull the heads to replace lifters on this engine?
Needs something for that damn wheel hop.
Yep! Our next UA-cam shows the install of traction bars from Speed Engineering.
@@AZProPerformance Yes!
What mpg does it average?
Love the truck have me some ideas for mine and most these people done realize how reliable that set up is also your a pulley swap away from 450-500 easy lol everyone thinks their a genius turbocharged applications are cool but definitely not my choice for a “daily” lol “ o shit bro I think my random line is leaking “
how much does a NBS weight VS an OBS?
Kinda late with my reply, but I have the exact same 1.9L magnuson supercharger with a BTR stage 3 truck cam, and TCI 2800 stall converter and I made 573 at the rear wheels. I recommend you check the duty on your injectors and the fuel pressure at your blower. You dont seem to be getting the power out of that blower that you should. Granted I have a 5.3 in my Silverado, but that's to much of a gap in power. You're basically getting crank horsepower at the wheels and that means only a 8-15% power increase from the blower. Also, PULLEY UPGRADES!!! Seriously. But if you're pleased with your results, by all means ride out. I'm not bashing your truck or build by any means, I just think you can get much more power than you are getting from this build. One last thing, what heads are you running on the 4.8? If I remember correctly, there was 2 or 3 castings that were horribly restrictive and that is the best way of unleashing extra ponies with forced induction. Oh! And 1 7/8 long tubes! Forgot about that one. Have fun. Nice build and like I said before, just some suggestions to maybe help you get a little more power.
Appreciate it! In the video we do make mention up downsizing the pulley, which we did later and got more power. This was only about 5.5 pounds in it, which is light. We down-sized the pulley, more boost and re-tuned before the new owner got it. It has been doing well now.
Chevy you fix it with a hammer 🔨😏
Any tire rubbing with that combo. Love the stance 😍
Thanks! No rubbing at all and fit very well.
@@AZProPerformance cool, thanks. Just subscribed 👊
What’s the driveshaft situation with the 4L 80 swap? I am assuming the 4L 60 driveshaft can’t be used.
Correct, we had it shortened.
Do you have a link to the lowering leaf springs?
We don't as we dont recommend the drop leafs. They ride very stiff. We later switched to a drop shackle and hanger, and although more work, it is worth it.
azproperformance.com/collections/99-06-silverado-coilover-complete-kits/products/pro-performance-2-4-drop-w-coilovers-99-06-gm-truck-suv
First time I’ve seen someone on UA-cam put coils in correctly. Everyone just tried to compress it to put it in
When you start to compress things when working on your car tensions get real high😬
