Hey, so before I talk about anything else I want to say that I was interviewed on my friend Coca’s podcast, if you’d like a little insight into my creative process and shit I think you’ll really enjoy it: ua-cam.com/video/DR8V2fLps6U/v-deo.html I’ve also started selling merch, for anyone who wanted to support my channel financially without using my Patreon. Hiring artists to do the designs for me since I want them to actually be decent looking, gonna make a video once I’ve got a couple more: www.designbyhumans.com/shop/ShammyTV/ OKAY now that that’s out of the way, I should explain what made this video take so long, aside from the obvious fact that it’s roughly 4 times as long as the reviews I used to make when I was posting monthly: TL;DR - While working on this review I was dealing with some personal mental health problems, partially brought on by stress and partially brought on by the fact that I had to put down two childhood dogs during the writing process. Throw in the fact that I was talking about a game that I’m really not passionate about at this point and you get a recipe for a 4 month creation timeline, and that’s not even mentioning my steadily rising stupid level of detail that I put into these reviews in both the editing and writing process, as far as I can remember there are more hidden jokes in this review than normal ones. Which leads me to another point - I’m not going to be making any more long form reviews like this one in the near future, and if I ever make one again it’s going to be for a game I *really* care about so that i don’t run out of steam halfway through working on it. I know these reviews are a bit contentious with my audience, I’ve heard an equal number of people saying they prefer either the shorter and longer reviews, but for my own sake I’m going to be moving back to around 15-20 minute videos. My goal for this year is to upload at least 1 high quality video per month, and I’m very excited about the three I’ve got lined up after this one. FILTHY ACTS AT A REASONABLE PRICE: ROMANCE RAILROAD wow he came up with more content playing this game than Hello Games did while making the fucking game
Sun Tzu He's recognizing the fact that not everything's black and white, that there are redeemable aspects to this game. It's commendable for someone as fed up with the game as him.
The amount of effort he puts into these is frankly amazing. Like, when he takes a Polaroid, you can watch the picture slowly develop, and it's such a small detail that I bet most people didn't even notice it, and I don't doubt that it took a bunch of effort to do. So he put a bunch of effort into a tiny joke in a little square that most people won't even see just because of consistency and being funny. Damn, Shammy, you really ARE the man. Owl. Whatever.
Noah Boddie I think you mean Senpai noticed Writing on Games you reprehensible troglydite. I can't believe the nerve of this generation, how dare you... (Please don't lynch me)
The number 16 is actually a result of the No Man's Sky universe being a result of Samantha Baker's wish at the end of 16 candles where she secretly wishes to become God.
Okay I sure as fuck wasn't expecting you to go into the thematic analysis of this game. Like, dude, you put way more effort into analyzing the script than it deserved. I mean ngl I'm glad you did it, it was super interesting, thoughtful, and considered. And holy shit I'm glad someone finally explicated (in video) why symbolism can just become meaningless if you pile enough vague shit on top of it. It's the kind of thing that makes your videos just real fun and nice to watch. That and in spite of the tone you're still clearly giving them a chance. I mean I sure as fuck never bought No Guy Buy, but a dev that clearly cares about their product should be commended at least to some degree, even if what they've created is deeply flawed. At the same time, I really enjoy the fact that you don't like make any bones about the fact that, no, this doesn't excuse the launch or the quality of the game itself. ... wait i mean fuk u ur gaey for lieking helo gams unsubscribble btw i haet owls
@@Joey099 hah, I happened to stumble upon it again too, since a new Shammy upload always initiates a binge of all his videos. Did you happen to remember why you originally commented that? I also remember seeing it so I know why.
@@Mixu. i think because after the video came out people kept saying that he needs to make a new video about the game because it is good now He said on twitter after the video released yes i know and i won't That's what I remember at least but honestly when I stumbled upon the comment i didn't remember why i wrote it
Your review has offended me on a deep level! I have rebuttals for every single point you made! But rather then do that, here's a recipe for cake. 2 cups sugar 2 cups King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour 2 tablespoons Instant ClearJel® or cornstarch 3/4 cup Double-Dutch Dark Cocoa or Dutch-process cocoa 2 teaspoons baking powder 2 teaspoons espresso powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 4 large eggs 3/4 cup vegetable oil 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 1/4 cups water FILLING 2 cups chopped semisweet chocolate or chocolate chips 3/4 cup cream (light, whipping, or heavy) or milk, or a combination* Flavors of your choice (see filling directions below) *Hint: Since you need 4 ounces of cream for the icing, and you'll most likely buy an 8-ounce container, use 4 ounces cream in the filling supplemented with 2 ounces of milk. ICING 1 1/3 cups chopped semisweet chocolate or chocolate chips 1/2 cup cream (light, whipping, or heavy) Instructions Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly grease and flour (or grease, then line with parchment, then grease again) two 8" x 2" round cake pans. Note: These pans need to be at least 2" tall; if you have non-standard, shorter 8" pans, substitute 9" round pans. To make the cake: Whisk together the dry ingredients. Add the eggs, oil, vanilla, and water, beating until smooth. Pour the batter into the prepared pans. Bake the cakes for 35 to 38 minutes (a bit less if you use a 9" pan), or until a cake tester inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool the cakes in the pan for 15 minutes, then turn them out of the pans to cool completely on a rack. To make the filling: Combine the chocolate and cream in a microwave-safe bowl, and heat until the cream is very hot, and the chocolate very soft. Stir to melt the chocolate completely, reheating very briefly if necessary. Now you have a choice. You may either flavor the filling all one flavor, or use a different flavor for each layer of filling. For all one flavor, use 3 tablespoons of your favorite liqueur - Frangelico (hazelnut), Kahlua (coffee), or Framboise (raspberry) are all good choices. Or try 2 tablespoons rum. Alternatively, add 1 tablespoon espresso powder; or flavor to taste with a bottled extract (coconut, peppermint, cherry, almond...) To mix and match flavors, divide the filling into three parts, and flavor each differently to taste, with an extract; or with about 1 tablespoon liqueur for each flavor. Divide the cooled layers in half horizontally, to make four layers. Place one layer on a serving plate, and spread with filling. Repeat with the next two layers. Top with the final cake layer. To make the icing: Combine the chocolate and cream in a microwave-safe bowl, and heat until the cream is very hot, and the chocolate very soft. Stir to melt the chocolate completely, reheating very briefly if necessary. Pour and spread the icing over the top of the cake, letting it drip over the edges and down the sides. Once it's done dripping, you may smooth the sides with an icing spatula, if desired. Allow the cake to rest, covered with a cake cover (or a big turned-over bowl) until the chocolate is set; overnight is good, though several hours are sufficient.
The amount of time and effort shows just how much you've improved your game. While I do love these long videos (They keep my autistic attention long enough), It's completely understandable to go back to the shorter format. Good luck, and keep on improving.
As I was watching this, my dad walked in to return the book I lent him ages ago. It was Maus, by art spiegelman and it happened like 2 minutes before you brought it up out of nowhere. Now if I know RNG, this pretty much means that this coincidence has effectively erased any chances i've ever had of winning the lottery so damn you Shammy for stealing my riches.
I have no idea who you are and I never cared about No Man's Sky as it is a type of game I'm not interested in. Yet, I've just watched 40 uninterrupted minutes of content from you, and was left in awe. Brilliant writing and delivery, fantastic analysis, tasteful and funny editing, hilarious interaction with your viewers. I loved every bit of it and I'm going to share this with all my friends who like me don't know who you are and don't care about this game. Thank you for the entertainment, Shammy, you have a new fan.
How can someone hate you? You represent yourself with OWLS. OWLS. Who in their right mind would hate OWLS? On a more serious note, thank you mate, you made me happy I fell for YT's algorithms for related videos and just clicked that thumbnail while not knowing what I was getting into. EDIT: I've just read your pinned comment, and I'm really sorry you had to go through IRL shit. I had to put down my cats in the past and it was so, so hard. I loved them like family and I got allergic to cats after that, which might be a coincidence, but I like to think it's not. Either way, keep it up, keep it at your pace, and try to enjoy what you do as much as possible, it usually goes through and reaches the audience :) Best of luck for future endeavors!
Don't worry Shammy some of your current/old subs like myself don't hate you either, though I'm sure hate subscribing is a thing because people are stupid and need reasons to wake up angry.
"For the 16% of a person that hasn't worked out what they were going for here yet: It's Jesus, the Penitent Thief, and Ya Boi." The delivery made my day.
You popped up in my Recommended tab, and I thank the almighty UA-cam algorithm for it. Subbed, and binge watched most of your Actual Reviews. You's a funny guy Mr. Owl, you helped me get through the flu while I was shivering/sweating simultaneously.
Bonfire Keeper James I’ve literally just found his channel tonight. He reminded me of Schmolty which is a given because I’m pretty sure they’re friends. But I really enjoy the comedy and I hope he reviews the dark souls games, if he already has I haven’t seen them yet.
Shit just happened to me. I don't even play games like this anymore, but I was entertained all the way through just by listening to his analysis on it.
I just found this video in my recommended as well, and i absolutly love this channel. Liked and subbed. Also, i wonder why alot people are getting this recommened to them?
Instead of complaining about how long it takes you to post each new video, I want to commend you for the absolutely insane level of work that goes into each of these gems. The density of sharp wit, both in writing and in spot-on and blink-and-you'll-miss-it visual gags you put into each video, is just astounding. You're a persistent joy to watch, the likes of which feel impossible on a platform like UA-cam. Keep up the stellar work, and I can't wait to hear from you again in another 20 years.
Ey, this is really good. You managed to rebuke: 1. Bad games 2. Intellectual hodge-podge 3. Outrage culture All while wrapping it in a nice, halarious, self-aware package. Oh look, there's even a JoJo's reference. 10/10, would go down the rabbit hole again. Subscribed.
Dear Shammy, I want to thank you for this video. It is clear that you put a lot of hard work into it. Not only from the actual information that you present, but also from all the little references to statements and topics in the video. From the misspelling of the word received in the Google Translate image when talking about the troll living in the head statement, to the number of notifications you have on youtube (ofcourse: 16). From my own experience working on projects i know how much time and effort goes into adding these finishing touches. I just wanted you to know that they mean something to me and probably others. It fills me with joy to see someone put in so much effort just for a smile on their fans their faces. I wish you all the best, for you truly deserve it. Yours truly, JaMaVo
So I played the NEXT update a few months back and ended up rewatching this video through yet another Shammy binge rewatch. You know all those possible interpretations linked to the Bible and Tarot cards? What half the video spends trying to make smart, not shitty relations and commentary between the game and real life themes? Yeah it turns out that 16 is just repeated ad nauseum because the simulation had 16 seconds left of run time in its own reality before it was shut down. Even though he hates this game, Shammy managed to actually overestimate this game. What a testament to this game's bullshit.
Man, the amount of work that he put into, analyzing and theorizing all the religious meaning behind it, only for the mystery to be “duh the simulation had 16 seconds left to live and not it’s just etched into everywhere cuz it’s a glitch like that.” I would break down in tears if I were him in this case.
References in a narrative like Spec Ops add to its core, whereas the ones made in No Man's Sky build around it. Your review takes full advantage of this and used it to make an overwhelming amount of hilarious spoken and visual gags that unlike the game, do build to a singular conclusion... the game is not very good. P.S. Subscribe to Downcevick.
most outlets and sources who talk about nms-Next seem to forget that it was a literal scam, and now the poor hello games are the good guys because they are >fixing and expanding< half way to what they promised,.... after 2 years,.... i don't get it, the help forums are still full of problems and the core game play is STILL the same grind. but it seems the narrativ has shifted again and now we hear talk about evil "entitled" gamer again, . . . .
Radvaldur lol people act like creating a universe in a box is as easy as making a pizza. The shit requires time and refinement which they have been given and have done. With more time there will be more refinement. Will you still be butthurt when the next update releases?
And today I'm reminded that there are creators on UA-cam who seriously give a fuck about the subject matter of their content, along with the content itself, outside of the tech-tuber sphere. Nicely done Shammy, very nicely done. Looking forward to the next upload, however long it'll take, I know it'll be worth it as always.
Well normally I am not a fan of long form. I need to enjoy the personality of the reviewer or no form will be enjoyable. I love Shammy's style and sense of humor, so I enjoy his content. Just because Joseph Anderson does long form doesn't mean his style will mesh with me.
Is Shammy still around? Damn these reviews are good and we haven’t heard anything for 8 months. I hope he’s alright. Maybe Hello Games hired the mafia on him
What are you talking about? Protestors left willingly after minor persuasion by the Chinese government. There were no tanks, police brutality, or even outrage!
I can't believe I just watched a 40 minute video about a game I've never played or really cared about, that had a 10 minute diversion into the themes of a chapter of the bible. I also can't believe that I actually really enjoyed it.
The amount of effort put into this video is unfathomable. Good lord. I think I could watch this video 3 times and not catch everything. Jesus. Great video. Not a fan of the cynical personality type, but I'm subscribing none the less.
Subbed. You've given the best review of this game I could hope for. I actually am enjoying the game, but then I skipped the hype, bought it two years after launch for $15, and missed every single ounce of controversy. I understand why people would feel hurt, disappointed, betrayed, etc. by HG. I also appreciate that as much as you dislike the game, you're not maligning the company. They're not EA or Ubisoft or Konami, their mistakes weren't born of malice or unabated greed, just hype and its backlash. I hope they can recover, take these lessons to heart, and use them make a legitimately good game from the outset.
Straight up, you got me to sit through a video about No Man's Sky longer than the actual game got me to play. That in itself is impressive. What's even more impressive is the quality of this video. From the script to the editing it was just legitimately a joy to watch and I can see why it took so long. Great work. Hopefully the next video doesn't give you an existential crisis.
"Take one step forward, off the stool." Subscribed. For real, though. From the witty remarks, to the in-depth analysis of the gameplay, story, and themes, you've hit every point and was able to get the impression of your experiences of the game as a whole directly into my brain. I don't know why I have not already subscribed. When it came to the end of the video, I went to give it a like only to see that I had already done so during my time watching it.
I believe there are only very few Channel on UA-cam that can keep people listening for 40 min straight and also be fair and entertaining doing a review. You deserve a far bigger audience, great video.
Man Spore has alot of fundamental problems, but at least it did something truly interesting. Maxis could still be seen in that game, if only just a little bit. NMS is just a culimination of all these crafting survival games and the problems they all have in 1 overpriced package.
-And then you go see Shammy's other channel. -And then you start gearing Please Stop Talking Podcast. -Then you meet Brendaniel. -Then you go see Brendaniel's channel. -Then you notice that BRENDANIEL IS CHAZZ! -THEN YOU HAVE A MINDBLOW! I'm a little late on that one.
Dude Shammy, you sure you're alright? After all that shit storm I do think you deserve a break, I don't have any problems waiting 5 months for a video since they're full of content, well-written and clever moments that makes me laugh even when I revisit them, take care of yourself buddy, there are people who supports you!
This is the first time I've watched any of your vids. I'll be honest and say I thought it was gonna be just like any other review, but this is the first time I've come across someone seriously cynical but perfectly logical at the same time, which I seriously don't see a lot of. I l o v e d it. Subbed.
I...I'm actually kinda worried about about this story update. It sounds almost like a cry for help from whoever is in charge of writing the story of 'No Man's Sky.' The NPCs that you most regularly interact with seem to have storylines that boil down to all their hopes and dreams becoming nightmares, and as they basically go through the motions of continuing to help you in the pursuit of something resembling a purpose they're basically just one degree shy of flat-out asking you to kill them yourself. And since that isn't an option, all you can do is... ...oh. All you can do is stop playing the game. It's almost like whoever was responsible for all of their 'arcs' is basically begging players to stop playing the game so they can move on. Maybe they were with the game from back in the days when everyone was so hyped for it. Maybe they really tried to put some life into it. But now that it's...well, this, they just want people to stop expecting more. The world's biggest box of band-aids isn't going to help perform the kind of major surgery that this game really needs, and now the storyline reflects that. With each quest, you go to X planet. You gather Y resources. You read Z textboxes. And by the end, all the NPCs involved are miserable shells of their former selves, and you're left with no recourse for 'helping' them short of leaving the game and not returning. And the Overseer? Geez, just look at him: his storyline ends with him declaring 'Fuck you. You're going to hate me no matter what I do.' Is that the most disturbingly self-criticizing DMPC ever?
You've got an AMAZING sense of nonsequitor comedy and snappy jokes relating to idioms in ways I would barely expect, and even when I do expect them the delivery is A++. Good shit man. Barely finished the video before I thought you did something special but it shows you put a lot of work into your stuff and put on a performance.
Wow, how did I not find you sooner? That was an absolute blast for me to watch. The video was well organized, well scripted and overall just really well executed. You clearly put a lot of effort to make this, ans the fact that I, someone with the attention span of a fourth grader, was glued to my screen for the full 40 minutes has to mean something, right? You just earned a sub, Sir!
even though this video is 40 minutes I honestly enjoyed every minute of it because you don't seem to stretch it out, you genuinely have something to say about it
I thought the reference to 16 was Greek. Whilst I found reference to 12 Olympians, I did also find reference to 16 Greek gods: 1. Zeus God of Sky 2. Hera Goddess of Marriage 3. Poseidon God of the Sea & Earthquakes 4. Hades God of Death 5. Apollo God of sun, light, music, and prophecy 6. Artemis Goddess of hunt and the moon 7. Persephone Goddess of Spring 8. Aphrodite Goddess of love, beauty, and protector of sailors. 9. Eros God of love 10. Dionysus God of wine 11. Demeter Goddess of harvest 12. Athena Goddess of wisdom and war 13. Hestia Goddess of hearth 14. Hermes Messenger God 15. Hephaestus God of blacksmith and fire 16. Ares God of war Atlas was a Titan who was condemned to hold up the *sky*. Euclid was a Greek mathematician and founder of Geometry. I think the story is actually simple and not based on the bible, but Greek mythology instead.
this is like the fourth time I’ve watched this video holy fuck it’s like every time I come back there’s a little aside or a point I missed or the whole thing gets mildly recontextualized as time progresses and new industry fiascos rear their glitchy, misdirected heads. goddamnit owl boy, I love your content.
Easy fix to the narrative of the story mode. A partner. This kind of narrative doesn't work if the realization happens to the PC because we, the ones controlling the PC, are outside of the game. If you make a separate character go through that epiphany instead and make that character likeable, the player will feel empathy towards said character. What NMS did with this story was say to someone that's palying a game "you were playing a game all along!" like, no shit sherlock. Another fix would be to give the PC a strong personality, but that's harder to fit in this kind of plot and they're having enough problems as it is. (which is what MGS2 did btw)

An example of this done right is Warefreme Second dream quest.
Been going back through the old vids since you mentioned that you’ve been dropping hints from the very beginning, and I gotta say I kinda forgot how quality your vids have always been, looking forward to how your content evolves from here, Joy!
Thanks to this game, I now have 16 tumors all with 16 inch radius. They are located in 16 of my fingers and toes. This happened to 16 people in 16 random countries.
Never heard of you, never seen any of your vids, never played no mans sky, still hit you with a sub because I appreciate hard work and detailed analysis when it comes to games. An underappreciated art medium. Good job!
Good lord. I'll admit, I had exactly 0 expectations coming into this and clicked on this video on a whim. What I found was like the result of an orgy featuring HBomberGuy, MisterCaption, and Yahtzee Croshaw. This is good. Funny cartoon owl man get the happy subby thingy.
“For those who aren’t familiar, taroh cards are playing cards used by pagans and fine arts majors for deviation”. This is the sarcasm that I subbed for.
Great video. Just found your channel and this was the first video of your's that I watched. I love your writing and delivery. The visual gags were great as well. Please keep up the good work.
Lmao look at the tabs he has opened during the intro : "How to get a girl to like (...)" ; "ok but what if I'm ugly" ; "The art of Seduction". What a top lad.
More? Holy fuck i thought the best one was the "top 10 harem anime" stuff. At the end. Wow maybe some one will list all of them sometime. I do not have the time to be this guy, though. :D
In numerology you can relate the meaning of any multi-digit number to the meaning of any single digit number by adding the digits together in a recursive process until you're left with a one digit number. If you take the number 16 and put it through that process you add 1 to 6 and get 7 which is the number of days it took god to make the earth and then rest on his laurels. In sacred geometry 6 is considered incomplete because if you take 6 equally sized circles and arrange them together proportionately you're left with a hole roughly big enough to put another circle. Likewise the prominent symbol of the game is an octahedron with 6 vertices and something special and important inside. In fact the special and important thing looks vaguely like a shiny red stone which is what the philosopher's stone of the alchemists is supposed to look like, which is fitting because in sacred geometry the octahedron is symbolic of enlightenment.
Thomas I. The way I see it is that people use minecraft as a baseline for poor graphics is when they compare it to something that's supposed to have top-of-the-range graphics and run like a dream, opposed to minecraft's super simplistic look.
+Thomas I. While I do agree with you, I can still see why: Amount of pixels in a 1x1m Square in minecraft: 16^2 Probable amount in no man’s sky: 2096^2 Yes, I know that it varies by what model, terrain etc. Etc. But the point still stands.
What I meant mostly is that low graphics in Minecraft has a very low rendering distance. As in shit will pop up about 10 meters ahead of you Which is still better than here, but there, they had less technology, people, and money. So there's no excuse for this filth
Every time i watch shammy i cannot help but get a smile on my face. I always enjoy the content, and ho boy your wordplay i can genuinely laugh at, which sadly i dont have to opportunity to do too often. Keep up the great content whenever you can. God Speed on the Great work my man!!
The 16’s are also a reference to hexadecimal code which is how (with a shitton of math) you are supposed to reliably navigate No Mans Sky’s 160-something galaxies.

The fact that you had 40 minutes of coherent, non-repetitive thoughts about this game is absolutely astonishing.

Don't forget he has other reviews on this same game. And I don't recall a single thing being repeated.
*the fact that he could talk about the game in a coherent manner is absolutely astonishing.

Turtles all the way down
I thought it was turtles
@@dipzoid8596 it's a play on that
@@dipzoid8596 in his first review of this game he joked that the dev is fully staffed by giraffes, he adapted the expression as a reference to that
I've used the phrase "fuckin' microwaved" more times than I should have
"The game barely functions and when it does I wish it would stop."
Damn.
I didn't even notice he said that XD

The amount of effort he puts into these is frankly amazing. Like, when he takes a Polaroid, you can watch the picture slowly develop, and it's such a small detail that I bet most people didn't even notice it, and I don't doubt that it took a bunch of effort to do.
So he put a bunch of effort into a tiny joke in a little square that most people won't even see just because of consistency and being funny. Damn, Shammy, you really ARE the man. Owl. Whatever.

Your review has offended me on a deep level! I have rebuttals for every single point you made! But rather then do that, here's a recipe for cake.
2 cups sugar
2 cups King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
2 tablespoons Instant ClearJel® or cornstarch
3/4 cup Double-Dutch Dark Cocoa or Dutch-process cocoa
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons espresso powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
4 large eggs
3/4 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups water
FILLING
2 cups chopped semisweet chocolate or chocolate chips
3/4 cup cream (light, whipping, or heavy) or milk, or a combination*
Flavors of your choice (see filling directions below)
*Hint: Since you need 4 ounces of cream for the icing, and you'll most likely buy an 8-ounce container, use 4 ounces cream in the filling supplemented with 2 ounces of milk.
ICING
1 1/3 cups chopped semisweet chocolate or chocolate chips
1/2 cup cream (light, whipping, or heavy)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F.

It's our yearly Shammy video, better treasure it.
What a testament to this game's bullshit.
that is fucking infuriating
Man, the amount of work that he put into, analyzing and theorizing all the religious meaning behind it, only for the mystery to be “duh the simulation had 16 seconds left to live and not it’s just etched into everywhere cuz it’s a glitch like that.”

One final kick in the balls, not only can you not have fun with the game play now you can't have fun with theorizing about the story
References in a narrative like Spec Ops add to its core, whereas the ones made in No Man's Sky build around it.

Literally found your channel like 5 hours ago, I don't think I've come across anyone who puts so much effort into their scripts. Fantastic work.

3. Poseidon
God of the Sea & Earthquakes
4. Hades
God of Death
5. Apollo

10. Dionysus

11. Demeter

12. Athena
Goddess of wisdom and war
13. Hestia
Goddess of hearth
14. Hermes
Messenger God
15. Hephaestus
God of blacksmith and fire
16. Ares
God of war
Atlas was a Titan who was condemned to hold up the *sky*. Euclid was a Greek mathematician and founder of Geometry. I think the story is actually simple and not based on the bible, but Greek mythology instead.

That "one step forward, off the stool" joke made me choke on my drink
This might be where they wanted to go with this Artemis thing?

Been going back through the old vids since you mentioned that you’ve been dropping hints from the very beginning, and I gotta say I kinda forgot how quality your vids have always been, looking forward to how your content evolves from here, Joy!
It's over Shammy. It can't hurt you any more. Move on, review whatever you want. Burn it all down. Whatever helps with the pain.
Thanks to this game, I now have 16 tumors all with 16 inch radius. They are located in 16 of my fingers and toes. This happened to 16 people in 16 random countries.
Are you ok? Just asking.
Bazzy no, I had to type this with my nose
Never heard of you, never seen any of your vids, never played no mans sky, still hit you with a sub because I appreciate hard work and detailed analysis when it comes to games. An underappreciated art medium. Good job!
Well NEXT comes out Tuesday so I can't wait for the next annual review of No Man's Sky!
Just came here to check if he's getting harassed about it :)
"If Jackson Pollock had paint rollers for hands he wouldn't use strokes this fucking broad" Holy shit Shammy, you've done it again ❤️
Good shit my dude
Indeimaus hell yeah indeimous, where dark souls vids? Ill call leafman to hack you if you wont put any on soon
Top 10 waifus of No Man's Sky?
Lmao look at the tabs he has opened during the intro : "How to get a girl to like (...)" ; "ok but what if I'm ugly" ; "The art of Seduction".
What a top lad.
More? Holy fuck i thought the best one was the "top 10 harem anime" stuff. At the end. Wow maybe some one will list all of them sometime.
I do not have the time to be this guy, though. :D
Oh of course, the game's set in a computer simulation I guess that justifies all those 'simulation errors' in the game.
They're features not bugs!
I should mention the octahedron also corresponds to the element of air which is appropriate for a flying thing in a game called "no man's sky".

Are...are thosr rocks...spawning...only after he gets within 5 meters of distance of them?
Holy shit, not even low graphics minecraft is that bad
You know you did something wrong when Minecraft has better graphics than you
Low graphics Minecraft was never bad in any way relating to visuals. Not sure why people keep using Minecraft as a baseline for shit graphics.
Thomas I. The way I see it is that people use minecraft as a baseline for poor graphics is when they compare it to something that's supposed to have top-of-the-range graphics and run like a dream, opposed to minecraft's super simplistic look.
+Thomas I. While I do agree with you, I can still see why:
Amount of pixels in a 1x1m Square in minecraft: 16^2
Probable amount in no man’s sky: 2096^2
Yes, I know that it varies by what model, terrain etc. Etc. But the point still stands.
What I meant mostly is that low graphics in Minecraft has a very low rendering distance. As in shit will pop up about 10 meters ahead of you
Which is still better than here, but there, they had less technology, people, and money.
Nice, when's the next No Man's Sky video?
The 16’s are also a reference to hexadecimal code which is how (with a shitton of math) you are supposed to reliably navigate No Mans Sky’s 160-something galaxies.
