I see Jerk Face becoming a new fan favorite. I've never met a snake so filled with spite and pettiness that she developed eggs just so you can't immediately breed her.
She makes it an art form lol
Yup, I now am a fan of Jerk Face. She's on her way to be the new Omnomlette- famous for being awful. 😂
She is super pretty. Love emily and Ed but I thought that comment has a hint of main character syndrome lol. Of course I know they're kidding. Not saying it as an insult. Just a kinda funny observation.
I already love her 😂
So funny it was her who had developed slugs.

Hi there! 🙌
I think I speak for all of us when I say that we really want to see egg hatchings from the non-hognose and bullsnake clutches! It's so cool to see the different kinds of eggs and baby snakes
Agreed!
Yes!! They need to find a mate for Justin Timbersnake.
And the big turtles. I forget their names, but the snapper and the big tortoise
I hope we see some blue beauties baby waggling their tails.
Yes! Would love to see all the other species they breed. The hogs and bulls are just the same every year to me so would like to see the different species in more detail.
@@steveshermer7595 Sharron (the big tortoise) is a sulcata which are extremely over-bred and they flood reptile rescue places(roughly 500-600 torts per rescue)so I really hope they don’t breed any of the turtles or torts.
I remember when mitosis first hatched 🥺 and now she may be a mom herself! Crazy how the time flies
Same
It’s a type it’s really nice type type what’s the first time you’re gonna pick let’s bake everything you can is that OK
Seeing this comment after mitosis's winter clutch made me chuckle!
For the wild type bull snake without a name: George Clooney! Love that grey fox energy
Who else is ready to hear Emily say 'Babies!' with infectious excitement?
or Ed's peep talks to the the males saying " you have to breed with her"
✋✋✋✋😊
I am
I have never seen a breeding tail waggle! This channel continues to educate me, 4+ years later! 💚💚💚💚💚💚
I'm glad Jester got himself a chance with a lady this year. Ed was so sad for him last year that Jester was the lone unpaired male. Here's hoping a surprise morph pops so he gets intentional lady encounters in the future. ❤
I was thinking the same thing
Same here, I am hoping the best for Jester and him possibly being a dad.
Jester is gonna give amazing clutches of babys!!
Yeah Brad! I’m so excited to see what sassy babies come out! So happy to see her breeding😊
I was so sad when Tiffany’s clutch went bad last year because she’s easily the prettiest lavender hognose I’ve ever seen. For some reason she’s one of the few lavenders whose colors show up onscreen. I hope her babies with a het lavender do better this year!
I've always been confused by that. The lavenders always show up to me, just harder to tell that you're seeing it at times.
We are on the waitlist for one of your 2023 baby Hognoses and we can't wait! My 12 year old gets super excited every time a new video comes out that gets her one step closer to her first Snake child!
I hope you guys get your snake this year and have an awesome time with it. Is there a specific morph you are hoping for?
My mom's afraid of snakes 😢 and all reptiles
That’s adorable
Cool I wish I can have a snake but I have a dog and I can't have more than one pet
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
@@ninaleeross18 I can't get a snake cause my mom is afraid. I have two dogs and three cats 😅
So nice to see Mr Wilson and Brad again. I’m so glad they’re around. Long live and prosper, OG Snake Discovery breeders!
I still miss the old famous "Brad and Janet" phrase 😔
@@Proteus_Ridley And Peanut.
@@jedimasters1462 yeah I really miss Peanut, he was my favorite bullsnake
@@annetheelf8174they still have peanut i pretty sure
@@lyn_373peanut has sadly passed I believe. Brad is also now with Janet iirc
Another good point about the lavender pairings is the if you breed your two lavenders together, that's all your good chances for lavender babies riding on one clutch! But to do het pairings means you get to get better odds over two clutches, so it's a net positive change all around!
Curious about your green tree pythons. Haven't seen an update on them in awhile. Do you guys ever breed them?
I always love breeding plans! And baby season! Circus and Monroe are one of my favorite pairings ever🥺
Right?? I think that's the clutch I'm most excited for in terms of bullsnakes. I don't keep nor ever plan to keep the species, but those two are stunning!!
This is probably my favorite breeding plans video. Jerkface, the surprises, the shenanigans, lavenders, axanthics... "Give me the H" killed me. I think I'm most excited for false water cobras because they're one of my favorites though! Will the lavender FWC be paired this year?
I know I’m gonna sound goofy for asking, but for snakes, what do they mean by the “H”? Is that just “hole”, like the cloacae?
(Also my favorite bit was when they talked about Jester being accidentally paired with Mitosis, after Ed last year was trying to play wingman and have Jester as a back-up breeder XD)
@TheChildofAuraReborn so a male snake's, um, "appendage" is called a hemipene! H for hemipene!
@@tbc_cosplay OHH that’s what it means! I’m sorry, I don’t own snakes (but I love this channel) so I didn’t know what it meant, lol. Thanks for answering my awkward question!
Thank you for asking as I had the same question
Snake and lizard males have a forked reproductive organ. They only use one branch at a time, therefore the "hemi" meaning half. It is speculated this could allow them to breed with more females, as one can recuperate while the other is in use.
I’m always so excited for baby season! It seems like just a while ago you posted last years breeding plans but I’m so excited!
Yes Omnomlette was in this video so agian Rip Omnomlette you are awesome and forever will be we love you ❤😔
It doesn’t even feel like last year’s breeding has ended since you were so successful this year!
Words can't describe how much I love this channel. 💚🐍
Me too. Emily and Ed are like the sweetest and funniest people I see on UA-cam. There are a ton of great people on YT but the energy these 2 have is contagious!!
same!! i have NEVER watched a channel so much
Me to🐍🥇❤
1:03 1:08 😊
I would watch a hour long video of you showing all the extra snakes your breeding!
I agree. They should include the others. If someone thinks it's too long a video, they always have the option of watching just the parts they're interested in. That's what FF and RW are for.😊
Tsundere Kate twich-hissing was the best part of the video! 😆
Also it's cool to see how much Mitosis has grown.
6:25 the nameless bull snake with the grey should be named Greyskull. It’s a She-Ra reference, “for the power of Greyskull!”
Dang i was gonna say if y’all could name the new hognose (eyeballs) with the name Ed. Then Ed can hold him and it would be Ed, Ed, & Emily!! which is a fun costume idea for a show haha
No matter how many clutches you produce, I’ll _always_ be excited for lavender hogs!
(The more that are produced, the cheaper they’ll be and maybe, one day, I might be able to afford one. 😂)
I can't believe that I've been watching snake discovery for so long that now my hognose that I got as a tiny baby is expecting her own babies! Their channel is the reason why I got into snakes in the first place!
You're breeding the argentine boas?! That is so cool! I can't wait to see what their babies look like.
(Check the facebook)
I’m excited for the potential lavenders they’re my favorite morph and when I live somewhere where I can have a snake I plan to get one.
1:44 I don’t know why “diarrhea Jane” got me 😭😭
It makes me feel old seeing Mitosis breed, I remember the video where she hatched and you pointed out her pattern.
Breeding season at Snake Discovery and the videos that comes with it is a actual highlight of the year. I always look forward to them.
I clicked on this video so fast lol
Excited to see this year’s babies! ❤

Thank you Ed and Emily for everything that you do for everyone! You inspire so many people! 😊😊
I always love learning about snake genetics! It's so neat! I have a double merle sheltie and see what bad breeding can do to a dog when trying to just have pretty dogs and ignoring "rules" of genes. It's nice to see someone care about the wellbeing of the animals and not just throwing them together to get the most sellable snakes.
I am fascinated by genetics but don't know too much about it. All really remember is father to daughter and mother to son. And then not to many other crosses. I have noticed that if a breed (specifically dogs) becomes very popular, they are often bred badly. A friend of mine had Dalmatians, and she would drive her girls out to a rural area where there were unrelated males to pair them with.
Brad is Back! Can't keep a great gal down!!!!! And Mr Wilson! Gets better with age, like a fine wine....Im so very stoked, thanks for posting this!
Raise your hand, if you’ve been watching snake discovery for seven years🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🖐🏻🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🖐🏼🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🤚🖐🏼🤚🤚🤚🤚✋✋✋✋✋✋✋✋
I’m late to this but ✋✋✋✋✋✋
Does anyone else just want a stream of snakes just doing snake things?
I don't know why but I look forward to the breeding plan videos every year!! Also Snake Discovery is the reason I am no longer scared of snakes. Thank you :) :).
I think for the two bull snakes that don't have names you should name the male Chicago and the female Grace idk I just randomly got those names 😅 BUT ANYWAYS great video! can't wait to figure out the experiment couples and how cool the babies could be!
🤚I would love to see another reptile questions/ identification video like what you did a few years ago. It was fun to see and some of the answers were so funny. I am just here for the babies too. My granddaughter used to watch hatching with me in the past but she is a teenager now and not as interested .
it's the most wonderful time of the year~ (almost! baby snake season!)
there are going to be so many babies this year even if only half the pairings pan out and i am excited for all of them. reminder not to skip baby garters this year
So excited to see the babies coming this year!
I am 6 years old and I have been watching your videos for over3 years and just love your show I wish to come visit you one day you are my biggest role model thank you so much for making your shows 😊 ❤
The hognose twitch is everything its so cute.
I’m excited to see more Vietnamese Blue Beauty babies! They are so beautiful.
Vietnamese*
Mitosis is so big! I am pretty sure I remember her as a hatchling. Her spots are hard to forget. ❤
I've been a SD fan for a few years and recently got one of my kids into the channel too! We're big fans of the baby snake videos.
How DO you answer your emails?
Azura and Busty are my favorites. Love their colors
I'm a little sad they're not breeding Stripey this year. I'm sure there's a reason, but I was excited to see them keep testing him with his other siblings to see if anything came of it. That said, I'm still super excited about all the pairings this year! I can't wait to see what comes out of it.
I think they've given up on Stripeys genetics... which is too bad because I swear half his offspring had the stripe! Not as complete as he has, but with only a few breaks in it.
@@IISheireenII Yeah it's sad because if it is genetic maybe it's recessive. Maybe the female they bred him to didn't have the gene (I think it was Hannah? I don't remember 100%) but one of his other sisters could have it. Then again, he could have passed it on to his offspring. In which case they'd have to wait until they grew up to try Stripey with one of them. So maybe we'll see them try again in a few years.
Emily said stripey passed away last year
@@kevapuyan2541 Oh my gosh, I had no idea! She must have said it in a video I missed watching or on Patreon or something because I never saw that. That sucks. :(
Wait what? I just posted a comment about him. 😢 rip stripey
there's something really funny about Emily saying "Diarrhea Jane!" with the most optimistic enthusiasm
I’m most excited for Tiffany and Mirage!❤❤❤
I've been watching ur videos for 5 years!!!
Me too
Shanco is by far my favorite snake at snake discovery
I'm excited for False Water Cobras. Roger is the name of one of my characters so I'm always happy to see Roger the Snake be a dad.
So much exciting stuff! Very cool that you're at a point where you're starting to pair your holdbacks. (I really appreciate that you're so serious about letting them all get up to robust breeding size!)
Here's to lots of healthy baby snakes and a great 2023 season!
I love how you guys care about your animals so much. It’s not just about money it’s about there health❤
Good luck with the babies this year! I always love seeing the baby snakes, they’re so sweet
I’ve been watching them for 4 years now
I really think you guys should make sure you pair SpiderPig with Rhonda or any female that could result in some visual axanthics, because it seems like the really dark black spotted/high contrast axanthics are pretty rare. The darkness of spots also could increase with line breeding in the future as well.
Super excited for Sideways Jeff's clutches! Would really like to see what you guys are testing out!
I really love the long videos hope you do more 😊 love you guys ❤
Knowing you have Snakes named after Elderscrolls characters warms my heart.
I love how some of the snakes have awesome, normal-sounding names like Enzo, Priscilla and Monroe. Then we have Diarrhoea Jane, Jerk Face and Orange Creamsicle 😅
Your channel helped me get over a snake phobia❤ (bad experiences in childhood with venomous snakes)... Excited to see all the babies from these matches!

Name suggestions (if anyone has more, feel free to add them in the comments):
Arizona
Copper
Comet
Falcon
Gibby
Rust/rusty
"Silver fox" (gray by the face reminded me of gray hair) suggestions:
(Mark) Ruffalo
(Kurt) Russell
(Morgan) Freeman
Not sure if they'll even see it, but I've always loved coming up with name lists so it was fun either way lol
I LOVE this series of Snake Discovery making these videos about breeding! It just seems so interesting on what the outcome for babies could be!
I’ve been watching snake discovery for three years
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
i love Charlotte idk why, but a few years ago i decided, "yep, i like her" and i love seeing her every so often!! :)
I'm so stoked to see what the secret thing is
Also I wish we could see some of the other species be paired eventually, just so we can see what it's like pairing those species
Thank u, because of u and a couple others, my cat was playing with a baby rat snake by my back door. I didn’t scream and kill. I calmly picked him up by the tail (no injuries), and moved him to the woods. Quite a chill little baby too. Ty for your inspiration and education. I loved snakes as a kid until I was bit by a basic black snake.
Can't believe that you started all of this from your basement a few years ago , you two are living the dream.
Yay!! FINALLY A WOMA PAIRING!! Fingers crossed that it takes! Would LOVE to see a Woma hatching vid!!! Wah-hoo!!!! 🤩🥳😍🥰🤩🥳👏👏👏🎉🎉🎉
Yayyyy I'm excited to see those babies and eggs coming this year with those interesting pairs❤
I am exited for Monroe and Cirkus since last year her babies were such a wild ride (possibly because of multiple dads and unknown morphs in such dads) so it would be fun to get some clarity when she is just paired with Cirkus.
Excited for more angry bullsnake babies! They're my favourite
Happy breeding season!! 😆😆 My crested and gargoyle geckos just got paired and I’m super excited to see what turns up!
Here comes the love! ❤🐍❤🐍❤🐍❤

I don't, and never have had any reptiles but I think they are so cool besides the fact the snakes scare me 😅 I watch this channel because I love learning more about them and their morfs, maybe one day I will get over my snake fear 😂
I’m excited for Audrey and Bueller. I hope they pair up and take and give a healthy clutch this year. She maybe my favorite Hognose.
I really would love to see an update on some of the older snakes we don’t usually see.
6:22 A name recommendation for the no-name male: Mr. Grey
12:20 Another name option could be Googly Eyes/ Mr.Googly Eyes
I have been watching y’all for like 6 to 7 years AND NOW I HAVE A SNAKE y’all have inspired me to get one his name is bubba he is a corn snake I think he might be albino because he has red eyes and he is a light pink with some red and orange spots be is a baby he sooooooo sweet but he sometimes hides like a lot but thank you soooooooooooooooo much
You should name the half and half faced male bull snake masquerade 🎭 I think it’s fitting! Or even Neapolitan like the icecream 😂
Phantom
Can not wait for the lavender snakes to hatch
I was having a panic attack and I rushed to watch you and calmed down
I think it's going to be an exciting year!
Just thought of ya'll. We're driving through TX and we are about to go to Buc-ees for the first time!
Show us more pairings with other breeds! It would be interesting.
So excited to see this year's babies!!
❤❤❤❤❤
Hey Emily y’all have made me happy even in the darkest times. Since I love reptiles my mom for Christmas gave me a gecko 🦎 and 2 months later me and my sis combined our money 😂 and got a baby gecko! And both lepard geckos are fancy morphs, the gene gives the gecko more yellow/orange colors, they get prettier EVERY shed! tysm for being you god bless!
A hognose name : soy sauce

out of all the bull snakes. three spicy ones being bred this year, that means extra spicy babies for 2023
So Brad gets a new man, that means Peanut must have crossed the Rainbow Bridge or is retired from breeding.
I'm super excited for the possibility of axanthic patternless bull snake babies!
I can't even picture what that would look like - would they be grey?
I wish I could meet you one day😀
I recently went to the Henry Doorly zoo and noticed that Taipans and Western Diamondback Rattlesnakes twitch as well. It was so interesting to see! Never knew about the tail waggle!
I’ve been watching you since I was 7 and now I’m 10 your an amazing memory in my childhood
Snake Discovery: *is a family friendly channel*
Also Snake Discovery: "give me the H" 😂
Yep, this made me laugh. 😂
That cracked me up omg
Sad to see omnom go
I promise none of us mind an extra long video just to see all the snakes!
