did you keep stock esc??? what is the stock esc? i used to run electric boats many years ago and i agree it best to keep 3s and make all other mods first to get performance...main thing is keep electronics cool... i can't tell you how many boat parts i fried learning...

So this thing runs basically just over half of the 30mph advertised as stock? Also what's the adapter called for the prop? And I just got into rc and have traxxas xrt. I have 6 14.8 volt 4s 9500mah 120c batteries for it. Would they work on this?
whats the stock esc??? maybe a hobbywng 80 amp esc would be a good upgrade if you wanted a 40 mph arrow on 4s ... its been over 10years since i ran boats... this was an excellent video explaining and showing how to increase performance...
@@gen1power102 Doesn't overheat on a 2200mah 4S. Although I used a 3300mah 4S although that was a bit too heavy too and unbalanced the handling. Would like it to sit out of the water more, ordered some adjustable fins that can be raised up some, hope that helps.

C rating is supposed to represent voltage drop under load, high c rating means the battery can be discharged at a high current without dropping as much voltage. The problem with c rating is that manufacturers make it up and use it for marketing. Its best to go off of internal resistance or pay attention to the gauge of wire on the battery leads as an indicator of how much current they anticipate it putting out

Thank you for the arrow content … Upgraded my esc to a 90A dynamite to handle the 4s…(I was told the stock esc would not handle 4s) Sadly, the boat is much slower with the new esc… the box DID NOT come with instructions and many reviews on the dynamite esc said the same thing (no instructions) I need to email horizon to see if I can get a manual on the 90A esc.. I am guessing it needs to be programmed or something as the unit has a set button on it.. Any ideas? Guess back so the stock esc for now…

On 3s it would really be pushing that esc very hard but it may take it. I don’t find these tiny boats very practical unless they self right.

Even if you bend them all the way up they still protrude under the hull.

I’ve used a few different ones on this boat. I believe this one was stock.
Oh wow, the stick esc says it’s only meant for 11.1 volts so I imagine 14+ would blow after a few runs. How long did you run stock esc on 4s??
