Actually, I know what happened to the Interloper. The game still removes it a bit after the point where it normally crashes into the sun, even if the sun hasn't actually expanded to intersect the comets orbit. Obviously, this only happens when you skip the time loop. Or if you take a really long time with the start of the game.
You're wrong, if you use the map on Hornfels' observatory without having started the loop you wont see the interloper there either, that's because the interloper is modeled ingame into the solar system after the loop starts. The interloper's orbit is around 7 minutes, which gives him time to revolve around the sun only 3 times to later be consumed by the sun expanding its radius (which, again, only starts expanding after the loop starts). To put it simply, the interlopers orbit and the suns expansion must be synchronized so they start at the same time.
@@sanderscast Yeah, but that is like that for every planet too, they all restart they position when you interact with the mask, they are some weird bugs when you do the mask equip once you get the launch codes that show it

@hampus93, how would that save our friends? If you mean the Nomai, then it's already too late because the Interloper blew up at least thousands of years ago. We just don't know the exact time. The Owlk are just alive inside the simulation, and except the Prisoner, aren't our friends. The prisoner exits the simulator if you free him, so there is no way to save him either. With mask skip, the ToQT Island eventually comes out of the giant cyclone. Can you test if dozing for at least an hour (which is roughly when that happens) allows you to see that happen faster? Also it might be best to put an EotE spoiler tag in the title
Pretty common in speedruns. Needs mouse though I think or at least remap launch and retrieved in separate buttons. Never got it working when I tried it 😆
I'm assuming what's happening here is the same thing that happens in that mod which stops the sun from exploding and it just stays dormant the entire time, meaning all the orbits are left to run for way longer than they are allowed to, and therefore from my experience messing with that mod, I'm assuming that if you did this in a vanilla game and let it run for HOURS, you'd see really cool orbit skewing. Attlerock begins drifting far out from Timber Hearth enough that it phases directly through the sun and comes out the other side repeatedly, Giant's Deep's probe cannon pieces fall down into and back out of the ocean over and over again instead of staying above the planet, *Dark Bramble literally collides with Timber Hearth, killing you via physical impact if you're anywhere on the planet* some seriously cool stuff, if nobody has made a video on how Outer Wilds celestial bodies fail to maintain their orbits so interestingly if the loop is allowed to go on for many hours, could be a fun video for you to make!
@@crozmo25 When you do record it, may be worth noting that letting the orbit simulations of the solar system run via dozing off versus letting them run on your computer in real time seems to have drastically different outcomes. I'm talking dark bramble and timber hearth somehow literally swapping places, with timber hearth as the farthest-out celestial body and dark bramble and brittle hollow huddling up close near the sun. Truly bizarre stuff, but definitely worth noting it plays out definitely from real-time waiting vs dozing off fast-forward time waiting. Edit: Orbits seem to break much easier and faster by spending a few hours on The Stranger as it's sailing away from the solar system. Seems distance from the player to celestial bodies makes orbits break much much much faster, causing crazy, fascinating effects after only a few hours, as opposed to sitting on Timber Hearth and waiting maybe 10 or 20 for something slightly cool to happen.
@@crozmo25 Just left my outer wilds on with the necessary mods literally overnight and the orbits were totally unchanged for like the 16 hours they were running, and I was afk in the core of Giant's Deep.
