I feel so sorry for Zane. He lives just a few miles from me. If not for Newbury Park he'd be a national sports hero. As is, he's forever coming in 3rd or 4th place, just another also-ran.
Finish line carnage! It's nice Lex got 2nd this time as usually he's marginally behind. Hope his brothers injury clears up and look forward to seeing the BTS video
The boy in the gold and green is from Catawba ridge in South Carolina, it’s a three a school and this guy is crazy, he’s going to notre dame for track and tracked all the way to California
Am I the only one who notices that in most track meets, the field starts a bit quickly? For example, here's the last guy to complete each lap: 1 1:06 (8:48) 2 2:14 (8:56) 3 3:22 (8:59) 4 Not on camera but it says
The summary. They didn't listen to their coach, so they didn't run as fast as they might have and broken the national record. But it didn't really matter, because they are Newbury Park, and completely crushed the competition anyway.
Imagine running the hardest race of your life and tryna rest with your team and having every camera in a mile jammed in your face… we love the content but that’s not necessary… they’re in HIGH SCHOOL.
Appreciate the feedback, and sorry you took the post race coverage in a negative light. Our intention is to show the amazing effort these elite high school athletes expend in achieving their times, and the support fellow competitors show one another post competition. It is part of the sport of distance running, and we're definitely not showing exhausted athletes to denigrate them. The whole purpose of our channel is to promote the sports of Track & Field and Cross Country, and lift up the athletes that choose to compete and give their best efforts.
Firstly, these are very talented young athletes and I wish them a good future. BUT... they are not "Men" or else they would be running in an adult recognised race distance instead of High School "Boys" races, essentially for children. These races are not recognised anywhere in the world except in the United States. (I'm talking 1600m and 3200m races). It's a real shame when it would be so easy to change to official race distances ie: 1500m or the old Imperial Mile distance of 1609m.
Jakob ingebrigsten is the same age as all these guys and he’s Olympic champion. These guys do not deserve any of the recognition they get they’re really not good at all
He may have mixed up Lex and Leo, but I still love this announcer. Great energy
Gets an 8:34,
"we were hoping for some faster times."
imagine running a 9:06 and still getting last
LOl.. thinking the same thing !
That would be state champ in all divisions in my state bruh
That announcer's gotta study those names...
For real, mixed up the brothers and kept confusing Zane Bergen and Jacob Laney.
Lol it’s not that hard. I don’t know why he struggled so bad 😂
8:33 that's me that fell. Got pushed by the guy behind me. Still a little mad about it, whatevs, we made up after the race.
You barely lost any time. Rolled over and popped right back up. Impressive.
Still mad cuz y’all had to kiss it out
No way, that is super crazy! You recovered very nicely!
I wonder if Lex heard the announcer calling him Leo most of the race.
Haha. I bet that happens all the time
I recall a scoreboard that listed 'L Young' as the second place finisher in a race, and 'L Young' as the 3rd place finisher, and it was correct.
I wonder if that’s why they wear different color socks
when you blow away the field and you're still disappointed, that's how you know you're great.
I feel bad for Leo, 100 degree fever
Newbury Parks 4th runner ran a 8:52 and their coach didn't even acknowledge him. Sheesh.
I’m pretty sure he was sick that day lol
that's leo young, his pr is like around 8:35, he was sick and still ran which is why his time was so bad comparably
@@tatewilker6323 nah leo was sick he ran 9:02

Same story here, I actually got the opportunity to train with him and the Niwot team last winter and he's a super nice guy
They actually made everyone better by being so good

That race announcer brought his "A" game! And a sub-60 last lap for Colin and Lex.
It is so weird when the camera is in front of them, it looks like they are jogging and then when it on the side view they are flying.
Not happy with an 8:34 3200? Wow!
Fantastic footage.
{"He may have mixed up the twins, but who doesn't?"}
Their mother.
I’m surprised to hear them say alternating laps was a bad idea

how did they not listen to their coach?
Great race video1
How are they all the same height?
Love to see it 👍
anyone know what happened to Isaiah givens from pasadena? i sware he just dissapeared from the race
He's running at Colorado in Boulder. Doing very well. Couple of sub-4:00 miles and a 3:41 1500 this past season.
@@hdRunners what happened to him in this 3200 meter race. It was like lap 4 I stopped seeing him. Did he get stepped out?
Sean Lacey unfortunately getting last.
lmao 💀(-bowie)
bro leo pookie😞
The fastest high schooler where I live would have a 16 min mile they have 8 mins

okay
ummmmm....what??
what is blud on?
Jakob ingebrigsten is the same age as all these guys and he’s Olympic champion. These guys do not deserve any of the recognition they get they’re really not good at all
Bruh, Jakob is 21 years old
I know you’re trolling but Lex, Leo, and Aaron are 16. Jakob is 21. Big difference.
Bruh I know for a fact you ain’t talk
Get your facts straight
Jakob is 21, not 16
bro how the announcer gonna announce lex at the beginning and then call him leo, like bruh
