So glad the eel is doing better! Was really hoping the King could convince it to eat :D Also, that face peeking out of the pipe!! So cute in a prehistoric kind of way! Need an acrylic LED sign with that face etched in to light up when Eelon puts off energy

I kept an electric eel almost 20 years ago. Hands down the hardiest fish I ever kept. Survived ph crash, heater failure in summer and winter. Ate anything, including algae wafers
What was the size of the tank and how many gallons do you recommend?

@@tucker8364 I've been wondering this myself as info on how to care for these creatures is fairly hard to come by, yet finding videos of them being fed certainly isn't.
I've heard 700 gallons is too small yet other sources say 2040 Litres (bit over 500 gallons) is about the bare minimum with room for upgrades.
That's because it shouldn't be in a tank!

I'd like to see you do a curious tap on the side of the fish. Brave wilderness did that. He felt a little shocked, but he wasn't hurt. He also touched him where they don't give us much shock.

Some floating plants like water Lilly’s would look amazing in the eel tank. With the long roots for cover

You know, it's simple little tips like this that can save fish. Such a great idea to get it to eat. This is why I watch videos like these. I wouldn't probably of thought of that, but because of your video I am armed with more information that may be useful for the future. Love the new look of the 2000g. It's nice and clean looking. Can't wait to see the next video. 🤘
Personally, I would still leave the pipes, unless you hate them. But yeah. Definitely more taller plants. He'd like them and they're pretty. 😊 He's got a cute face
I suggest use the cocktail shrimp. They use the minerals & nutrients from the shell

I actually saw them at the Seattle Aquarium years ago, feeding there electric eel Giant Nightcrawlers . It was a massive old Eel, and he was slurping those worms down.

Gallery looks dope, I think you should ditch those DIY lights and throw some of those black box lights on top. It would make them pop more and match them aquarium theme.

Cool. That size will Nail you big time if he feels threatened or you try to touch him. He will light you up before your finger touches him. He pretty big and very cool. I think in a couple weeks you'll be able to pet him.😅❤

yup back when i used to have some tanks the first thing i always tried to do was see what kind of care/maintenance they needed and food before i got anything, btw, its always far better to own your own place if you don't do not get serious.

I think the electric eel is one of the best additions you've made to the gallery. there's so much potential with him on a research level, but also an artistic level to find out what scape he likes.

For what I remember, electric eels prefer logs to hide in. Also, for feeding, have you tried a couple of feeder goldfish; they are predators.

You do not need to touch him, in fact that exact eel once discharged a low-mid level shock from across the tank that I felt. Didn't hurt, but tensed the muscles in my arm for sure.

Good that he is eating. Would a hide/pipe made from a conductive plastic be for inviting over the non conductive ones u are using. There is conductive pla for 3d printers.
