as a Brazilian doctor who has had some of those electric eels (we call those poraques) on my line while fishing the Amazon, one suggestion: do not touch that fish. You can prob take the charge, as you can prob take a small car crash, do not test it

I don't like the hand feeding part, but I fully support adding female guppies to the moss tank
only if he does at least twice as many females and he has males though, otherwise he will end up with a bunch of stressed and dead female guppies.

Love the guppy tank! I have a 50 gallon acrylic guppy tank. So much fun adding new guppies. I would love to see them going up the tower. Thank you for sharing.

I was shocked by at least 1 eel half that size at the lfs I work at. We had 2 in the tank, felt like being zapped by my tig welder but my whole body not just my arm

I recommend bangaii cardinal fish for the Duncan tank. You could add some Acans to the substrate. Would look great. Mushroom coral would be great too in the Duncan tank. Some nice blue mushroom

A clownfish harem would be awesome im thinking of doing one myself at 1 time i had over 20 rainbow bubbletip anemones i started with 3 and learned quickly if u feed em good food like silversides and meaty foods they will split and ull have a tank full b4 u know it

About corals in SW tank: try waving hand xenia or pulsing xenia corals. They are not expensive and they will grove fast! They have a lot of movement! They are not so popular in reef hobby but they are just beautiful

Electric eel shock, can be like fork in a toaster. Or getting hit with a baseball bat, that is electrically charged. They can choose what to give you. A zap to through you away,or a charge that could be life threatening. But got him in mostly clear water. They have a tendency to be more dosile.

Use some type of electric meter to test his output. I see them on the sides of other aquariums showing the ells electrical output, I have seen on video's of the ells killing crocodiles. Not a good idea to test with your hand. The guppies won't have anyone to feed them,

you should get some blue moscow guppies for the guppy tank!! I used to breed them and they're amazing, very beautiful fish!

The average shock from an electric eel lasts about two-thousandths of a second. The pain isn't searing -like sticking your finger in a wall socket - but isn't pleasant: a brief muscle contraction, then numbness. Basically if you walk into an electric fence it's similar

The eel is not big enough to cause any significant harm (unless you had a really weak heart) that is a third of the size they attain ( if that ). It would be a good zap though.

i dont know much about salt water but that coral frag tank had no movement or wavemaker , i though corals needs that wavemaker movement . for the price coral cost i would hope they are taking care of them perfectly

In the tank that you plan to put anemones in it would be cool to have a clownfish harem in there too.
Put 3-6 Pajama Cardinals in with the Duncan corals
I think one thing I would of done differently is add some of the aquarium water to their water and let them acclimate to the water in your tank.
Do you have any videos of how you made the tower? I so want to do something but with a lego floored inside a smaller tank with a tower. But I'm not good at this, just the idea... awsome work

Go ahead and grab the eel just to join the club. It feels like a high tension spark plug wire. Lots of fun😅. Keep in mind he'll hit you four or five times before you get out of the tank. Don't forget the whiskey and beer afterwards.

For my personal taste I'm not too keen on the tower because it looks a bit bare. Maybe if it was open at the top and there was a big plant in it, I'd like it more. But it's most important that you like it! The tree parts are really neat and I love those, it's like a flooded forest! And I'm new, but I'd rather the eel be left alone for your health because you never know and it's not sounding worth the risk especially without medical crew near, and even then I wouldn't want to see that happen. Is there no simulation available for such a thing? It's surely not exactly the same, but..
Not that I want you to get shocked, but the eel to my knowledge only use the shock as aggression stance, if he’s use to you and your feeding him only he won’t shock you, he’s not plugged into the wall outlet

I find it strange you don't acclimatize the tank for a few weeks before you put fish into it? Is this how it's done now adays?
There are many different ways to keep fish, and when you need content for UA-cam you don't wait weeks to fill aquariums.
“He’s friendly, he eats when I want him too” I mean he doesn’t get go through the Burger King drive thru when he wants to. He has to wait for you to feed him not “he eats when I want him too”

Rams or apistogramma can be added to the tank.. It will add more interest to the tank and also Joey you know it.. A scaped apistogramma tank is long pending.. 😅

joey you dont need to touch the eel to get shocked , i seen documentary of one the had a light bulb rig up to its tank and the eel would light up the bulb without any agitation to make it react

I think the shock while dangerous is only lethal if you try to grab it and THEN it continues to shock you, which will lock you on to it and just keep shocking you. I could be wrong though.
