  • INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 9-16-20 11:00 am
LOCATION: Bay Marina (Goodies Restaurant Parking Lot)
    CITY: National City
    DETAILS:
The female driver of the Jeep drove through the intersection of Bay Marina and Cleveland Ave. She entered the parking lot and drove straight into a parked KIA. Good Samaritans went to her aid and realized there was something wrong with her, so they left her in the Jeep.
An NCPD officer arrived and tried to help her from the car to the sidewalk, and she could hardly stand or sit. Paramedics arrived and deemed that she had no injuries.
She was given a breathalyzer and she blew a .37. The legal limit is .08. When asked if she had ever done the breathalyzer before, her answer was "Yes".

My wife was like that 30 years ago right after we got married. Her last DUI, I left her in jail for a week, and told her I was leaving her and taking the kids with me. She hasn't touched a drop of alcohol since that day and life has been good for us both. She quit with willpower, not with rehab or AA. Strongest person I've ever known.

I dated a woman who was gorgeous, but had a terrible alcohol issue. She got two DUIs in a month. She was scheduled for a flight to Dallas and her mother told me she never made it. Finally called around and she was found on the floor at the airport and taken to the hospital with a .36 BAL. The Nurse told me he had never seen a female that high, but a few male chronic alcoholics he had seen in the .4s before. So, she was over 4 times the legal limit. It was terrible and she spent the night in the hospital. She was a closet drunk and didn't want people to see her drinking. I would go to the bathroom and come out 10 minutes later and notice half a bottle of booze had been drunk. It's a terrible disease and I feel bad for people who have chronic alcoholism. However, they are being stupid for driving or even being out in public when they are on a bender. BTW, you are at risk of death at that level of intoxication.
