National City Blowing a .37 DUI Accident 09162020

- INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 9-16-20 11:00 am
LOCATION: Bay Marina (Goodies Restaurant Parking Lot)
CITY: National City
DETAILS:
The female driver of the Jeep drove through the intersection of Bay Marina and Cleveland Ave. She entered the parking lot and drove straight into a parked KIA. Good Samaritans went to her aid and realized there was something wrong with her, so they left her in the Jeep.
An NCPD officer arrived and tried to help her from the car to the sidewalk, and she could hardly stand or sit. Paramedics arrived and deemed that she had no injuries.
She was given a breathalyzer and she blew a .37. The legal limit is .08. When asked if she had ever done the breathalyzer before, her answer was "Yes".
Once you fail the "sit down here on the curb" portion of the field sobriety test, it's pretty much over.
LOL
Great comment!!!!!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
My wife was like that 30 years ago right after we got married. Her last DUI, I left her in jail for a week, and told her I was leaving her and taking the kids with me. She hasn't touched a drop of alcohol since that day and life has been good for us both. She quit with willpower, not with rehab or AA. Strongest person I've ever known.
Very happy for you and your family that all it took was some tough love and nobody was hurt. I'm so glad you were able to keep your nuclear family.
I would've left my husband if he left me in jail, totally fucked up

Yea not just her either
At .37 I can hardly believe she was as lucid as she was! Glad she didn't hurt anybody.

Absolutely! My highest was .22, and at that was not as coherent as that woman was. Dumb move on my part, never again!
@@upsidedowndog1256 Same, I got busted with DUI of .21 and everyone in the alcohol treatment class was astonished.
Back in my drinking days. I fell and ambulance came and took me in. My bac was .32 they were so surprised because I could have a normal conversation...
@@Cookieboy70the highest bac i drove at was somewhere in the 0.30s and dude even late night with zero cars on the road there came a point where i literally could not process stuff in real time. Why
Been sober 31 years. There were times I was that wasted...or so they told me. Life is good, don’t miss all the “great times.”
I mean you can just drink in moderation. It doesn't have to be blackout or nothing.
@@nolanhull312 for an alcoholic it's all or nothing..I feel like this is common knowledge
@@nolanhull312 Sorry you are completely wrong on that point, the saying at AA is that one is too many and a hundred is never enough. 6 yrs sober this June.
@@The_Original_forresttrump That's awesome man, I'm truly happy for you. I guess I just don't understand and I mean that respectfully.
I've had some of the best times while drunk with friends, sometimes too drunk. Times I could never replace and stories I could never tell without alcohol.
But if I need to wake up early for work or have something planned, I just don't drink or even think about it.
Good for you. Been sober since 79, best and hardest decision I ever made.
I can’t even fathom how lucky she is that this happened in a parking lot. 🤯
And the rest of us😢
By the looks of her, she probably didn’t make it out of the parking lot.
That breathalyzer said "Thanks!!" and lit a Marlboro

Who cares about her life. She clearly doesn't care about anyone else on the road or sidewalk.
Asks thank God for that fire truck. Fhew! Close call there
I cannot believe the level of her intoxication.
@sik59rt Yeah. I get the frustration and anger and feel the same way. These people are selfish. But, the problem is that there are a lot of them, and maybe she can be helped. I don't know. That's all I got.
Nearly 5x the legal limit... I seriously doubt this young lady even knew where she was at.
When they gotta hold you up for the Breatho, there's probably no point....
It's evidence
gotta keep a paper trail

@@georgegerman9009 its the crash.
Damn thats a new level of drunk. Even her autopilot was too drunk.
That car stopped itself, she had nothing to do with it.
She’s what’s called a “ maintenance alcoholic “, she has to maintain a certain BAL just to be able to function and if she falls below that she risks going into shock, convolutions and followed by a coma and death.
@@wrzl1675 very true that why detoxing can be dangerous
@@wrzl1675 Yep, your correct, and that level of maintenance is increased everyday until her liver or kidney fail completely. That's exactly what happened to my Mother. R.I.P. Helen🙏😢
Onstar said " Damn girl you're fucked up ". LOL.
My kids mom was like this...and eventually killed herself with alcohol.
She was beautiful and smart and capable....over the years she lost it all even her life.
She was 43
I watched a guy I know get arrested and taken to detox for his own welfare. When I was there at about 11 PM he was taking his last drink before they took him away. They did a blood draw about 3 hours later, and the results came back at .39. He was probably at about .42 when he was arrested. He was talking clearly and he walked down a long, steep flight of stairs, hands cuffed behind his back and wearing flip flop sandals. Some people develop an incredible tolerance.

It seemed like she didn't know what planet she was on. I hope she gets the help she needs
Getting sober and facing up legal consequences would be a good start....like seriously you worry about her?...worry about homeless kids...how about that..??
@@garysmith7760 I dont think that she has the wherewithal to make sensible decisions. But you're absolutely correct in saying that homeless children are sorely neglected.
My sincerest wish is that this young lady used this instance as a motivating tool to get and stay sober.
I'm a retired firefighter and I never saw anyone blow that high, highest I ever heard of while I was on the job was a .29. .45 is considered to be fatal but not always true for alchoholics
Actually it's .50 that's fatal, but it can shut down your nervous system at lower levels. Keith Whitley died with his at .38.
Like I said I think it's fake I'm a grown man and I don't think I ever blew that high
I ended up at the clinic with .38 I was very very drunk not behind the wheel but my friend took me cuz he saw me in really bad shape….I was admitted over night and given Ativan for withdrawals for the night then started AA the following week I’ve got almost 3 years sober thank God for my friend.
@@GBCADENA1986 Keep going!
As a paramedic I actually had one of our frequent flyers do a .50. I swear.
Fairly petite female, I had responded to her at least ten times, I’m sure the other shifts did the same. She could actually walk with that BA. Finally got hit by a bus
She is lucky she hit that car, imagine her on the freeway.
There was no way in hell she could have made it to the freeway
No I don’t want to imagine that

That won't work with drunks. I've told my cousin all the embarrassing shit he did one night and he was getting shitfaced the next weekend lol
Just be happy she is still alive, not dying from alcohol poisoning or a major traffic collision.
I got a DUI on xanax when I was young someone filmed it I landed in the middle of a golf course it was humiliating case got dropped never got arrested again fuck that..,
Someone who drinks that much and drives obviously is a repeat offender. Like if you can't hardly walk how on earth would you get in a car to drive unless its something you regularly do. She probably has more than 1 doo-ee
@@MrTheWeedMan007 you never know, even the worst drug addict can get clean. Maybe legal punishment/help, public shaming and friendly support is enough to stop her behavior.
Whenever I see these, I always wonder how no one saw this about to happen. How many people turned a blind eye for this woman to actually make it to her car? That is an obscene level of intoxication man.
Everyone watching her in the bar was wasted too.

She drank so much that she needs a caution sticker that says flammable.
Saddest part is that she’s not even that old and she’s already getting blackout drunk at 9am.
She must have severe alcoholism to be able to be conscious with a .37 BAC
Yes and the judge will use that data in dealing with her. A normal person is unconscious at .3 bac.
Those whiskey swilling soccer moms will surprise ya!
Yeah. I tested at .112 once, thankfully i was never in my vehicle so i wasnt charged for anything. Instead i was passed tf out by a playground and thats why the cops and paramedics were called.

Sadly
This is utterly amazing that she didn't kill or hurt any others. Great job officers.
Does Bible really teach people to drink wine for healing and prying?
WHO DOESN'T LOVE HER ENOUGH TO HAVE TAKEN HER KEYS?! OMG!
I dated a woman who was gorgeous, but had a terrible alcohol issue. She got two DUIs in a month. She was scheduled for a flight to Dallas and her mother told me she never made it. Finally called around and she was found on the floor at the airport and taken to the hospital with a .36 BAL. The Nurse told me he had never seen a female that high, but a few male chronic alcoholics he had seen in the .4s before. So, she was over 4 times the legal limit. It was terrible and she spent the night in the hospital. She was a closet drunk and didn't want people to see her drinking. I would go to the bathroom and come out 10 minutes later and notice half a bottle of booze had been drunk. It's a terrible disease and I feel bad for people who have chronic alcoholism. However, they are being stupid for driving or even being out in public when they are on a bender. BTW, you are at risk of death at that level of intoxication.
Spoiler alert:….. It’s not actually a disease. It’s label that in order to receive certain federal funding. And, I was informed of this by a medical doctor.
My BA was .357 when the ER checked it. My parents took me to the ER when they suspected i had a problem. Those nurses were shocked because I was acting pretty functional. walking, conversing, consenting to treatment, etc. They told my parents it was the worst they had seen. I'm really surprised they didnt send her in the ambulance.
I was a .47 when my friends took me to the hospital. Got 11 months without alcohol.
What's a fella do in the bathroom for 10 minutes?! 😄
Thank god she didn’t kill no one is scary to watch someone drive this intoxicated !

People/family who know the woman can’t help her. She’s got to do it. Family and friends are probably unknowingly enabling her.

Totally disagree. A substance abuse professional cannot help an alcoholic UNLESS said substance abuse professional is an abstinent alcoholic and has been abstinent for many years. Only another alcoholic can help an alcoholic. Family and friends need to communicate with other family and friends of alcoholics to get the help they need.
@@conniewolf7300 Could not have said it any better Connie! Getting and staying sober is contingent upon two things...Number one, as Connie said, is SURRENDER. Number two, is being willing to live differently and engaging in a "Design for Living" that will facilitate long term sobriety.

There are people having big traumas in life and still do not choose to use their car and themselves as a weapon to kill others . Sorry if you choose to drink and go into a car, I do NOT feel sorry for you, Your choice to put the alcohol in your system .
It's called alcoholism.
@Erika Luleå That's true. Agreed 100%. Everyone knows how accessible and convenient rideshares are. Take a damn Uber or Lyft.
@@drcbeartooths It’s both. I do feel sorry for her AND she should be punished. Hopefully she’s doing better…..
At this point,, there is no fun in the drinking game.
