I’ve watched hundreds of Mikes videos and this is def on of the best I’ve seen, thank you Mike for all of your wisdom and than you Scott Adcock for recommending Mike, in my opinion Mike Malaska is hands down the most knowledgeable instructor alive today and one day I will visit him and hopefully get a lesson. Thank you Mike for all you do…Golf is better with you in it.
Best description! Now I see it as being the same as my tennis serve. Of course!! Why is it so difficult for the brain to accept when it’s on a tilted plane. I was swinging straight back and straight through. Duh! This ‘turn the corner’ is now so obvious. I almost feel a very slight pause as it happens plus it makes my body move sideways and out of the way as the butt comes down first, closer to my body. So much easier. Hoping now to reduce handicap from 16 to 12. Thanks Mike!
Mike. I am totally right handed and have played golf left handed for many years. Was told you should have the lead arm control the swing. This seemed to make sense considering I am right handed. I struggled with club face control; hit pulls, slices etc. The right forearm rotation in the downswing was a timing move which II could not consistently repeat. Six months ago, I watched your video regarding controlling the swing with the trail hand/arm. It has taken months to train my non-dominant left side to control the swing more naturally, like throwing a ball. Finally, with my left hand/arm controlling the swing and releasing naturally through impact, I can more consistently hit straighter more powerful golf shots. I've not seen any other golf instructor talk about this. I appreciate your expertise on this. Golf is more fun now. Thank you. Dan Harmon.
Hi Mike, Hello from the UK 🇬🇧🙂 Quick question... Strengthened my grip, feeling like an underarm throw with my right hand.. Have i got that right? if so can I let go after impact as if I was underarm throwing a ball to get used to the feeling? .. When I do this it feels like I can give it some oomph. wife literally just started playing (6 weeks ago) and hit her best shots yet after taking you're grip advice. You're killing it 👍🏌️♀️⛳🥇
Mike in the golf swing which hand do you feel is more powerful? Some say it’s all left hand Ben hogan said he wished he had more than one right hand or maybe my question should be which is more prevalent thank you
Hi mike, I am from good old germany and not used to write in english but I do my best. my question is, how do I breath during my golfswing and is there a difference between putting and full swing?
Shallowing the club aka getting the club shaft inline with the trail side forearm. I'd rather focus on the trail side forearm than the idea indiscriminate "shallowing"
A good question is would different clubs give you different curvature to the ball I draw my irons but my macgregor persimmon I driver fades naturally like 3 feet and as I go to my newer driver it curves more like 5 10 yards
Yes, for instance if you hit up on the ball with a driver it also changes your low point and therefore also the path, which will tend to go more to the left. It’s fairly common that guys on the tour who normally draw the ball with their irons, hit small little power fades with the driver
@@eltoncarlstrom2971 I can draw my driver still but it's very interesting I find I've never had any golf lessons in my life just bulit it up from the ground
@@BGM6474 well you can obviously draw it but that requires a swing which you don’t have with your irons (assuming you hit up on the ball with a driver) meaning you are moving your natural arch which tends to decrease your club head speed. But obviously the important is that you hit what shape suits you.
@@eltoncarlstrom2971 I feel like right now I. Not really fast anymore even at my age of 22 I can't sling it fast like I use to when I started mainly cause of my accident I had when I was 18
Take lessons this are just tips , I’m sure this system works if you take the lessons one on one The modern golf swing have evolved, because of research, no tour player just use the hands, they all use the body The body is the power source the arms are the speed. The pros are so good because they have learn, to sync both that takes endless golf balls and lessons This is great, but is a rabbit hole, for this round you use this and when it goes away you come back to you tube and find another tip from Someone else that makes sense to you. Just commit, find a qualified PGA teaching pro and stick with it.

Damn that is well said Mike. Such a simple thought to deliver the club to impact. Thanks for making the video.

Like how you put things in perspective. It sounds like this is the "transition"?

Damn! That loop at the top is what I do with my throw, but not my swing!🙀

Mind blown. Was trying to “shallow the club”.
