Hi Lewis, I'm trying to find the plant you highlighted which can be used to treat gut, stomach and intestine health, but I can't remember in which video it featured.
This randomly popped up in my garden and I used the PlantNet app to identify it (as I had no idea what it was and was just wondering how it ended up in my garden growing into a healthy Vine). Once I saw the common name meant heal all, I did a quick search on UA-cam and found this video. Absolutely fascinating! I didn't know that about the name Vulgaris either. Thank you for this!!
I have come down as has half of Ireland with flu. I grew from seeds...not flowering yet. l was so sick l cut the stem with leaves and made a large pot of tea and went to bed. 24 hours nasty cough subsided. I am hooked.
Hey Can you believe it. not long after viewing this, I found some of these beautiful plants just by the road in a small meadow like spot that the council usually cut. They were there just growing beside the plantain and dandelion greens and daisies. The colour is so deep and purple. Gorgeous. I don't take alchol so I'm just going to collect them as they grow and let them dry for winter to make tea whenever I feel a cold coming on. They get droopy very quickly once you bring them home. So easy to identify. Thanks very much. You were spot on xxx
A few days ago I was cycling and I cut my leg on some brambles. Nothing too bad but was bleeding a fair bit. I stopped to try and sort it out and there was a patch of self heal right there 😊. It definitely lives up to its name, I crushed up a few flower heads and pressed them against the wound for a few minutes. Worked a treat 😁
UK Wildcrafts Yes it’s unlikely to be confused with any other plant that I know of in the uk. My hope is that regular people realise the power these plants have. I’m not saying that they should be used instead of western medicine for one moment, but people need to remember our ancestors have used and trialled these plants for hundreds of years and they often have very apt names like Self Heal and Woundwort they don’t get common names like that for no reason. Self heal is definitely a must have for me!
Hi there! Another great video! I was hoping you could clear up an identification of hogweed Vs giant hogweed for me. I messaged your Facebook page with some photographs and descriptions! Thanks 😁😁
Great video thanks for posting. Ive become really interested in uk plants for foraging and medicinal use. Do you have any advice of what books to study or whats best to do to increase your knowledge? Thanks
@@UKWILDCRAFTS nice one thanks for that. I should have great guts as it grows abundant in garden since popped a pond in.. Maybe the seeds land in water or the birds are sowing them either way its good
I think I found some - it has more pointy tips of leaves though. Wow - Common folk termed as 'vulgar' eh?! It's what ((they)) really think of us. We scare them. They have a lot to lose you see.
Thanks for watching, subscribe for more plant and mushroom ID videos ua-cam.com/users/UKWILDCRAFTS

Thank you clear identification flowers look similar to dead nettle .. Are they similar medicinally?
They are both from the mint family, and yes flowers look very similar. They have similar properties but dead nettles are good for the gut
