Absolutely love your channel. Your videos are well informative. You have a lovely calming present. You’ve inspire me a lot! I love wild foods, tea, cooking and growing plants 🌱 definitely learn a few new things from you recently. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and taking time to make these videos! ❤️
Love your channel and great videos for anyone who is interested in foraging! I love linden flower tea, we always used to have this in winter. It's great for when you have a cold.
One of the most difficult things, is remembering the names. A little annotation in a corner of the scientific name, or even both common and scientific, I personally would find that really, really helpful to kindof, lock it in my head. I'm sure as I get to know the families better I will find it far easier but I'm just at a stage I'm really struggling to keep up. A good frined of mine learns far better from books, so he's going out now and able to identify every plant his wife points at in their area ... to the point it's starting to freak her out! So I have competition!!! XD
Good to teach people the art of foraging so much abundance on people’s door steps yet they bag sad jet lagged salad from supermarkets..I’ve been foraging for Elderflowers here in the UK
Hey, I’m working my way through your videos and love your stuff! Thank you for the help and it’s really encouraging me. Question about Mallow please, I’ve found tree mallow on our beach, could I use this instead of common mallow? thank you 😊
I dont mean to be offtopic but does anybody know a way to log back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly forgot my login password. I would love any tricks you can give me!
@Zane Reyansh Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site on google and Im in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Well timed video. I went out the house with my son today intent on going to make pine needle tea but he had other plans and where he wanted to go didn't have pine trees. This video will more than likely be watched again tomorrow before I head out for our walk.
@@UKWILDCRAFTS had no joy on finding anything because I got distracted when I seen a field almost filled completely with ash so I went in to search for cramp balls with my little minion on my shoulders. I was being eaten alive by midges and decided to call it a day when my little poop monster decided to put enough in 1 nappie to fill 5 nappies. However today was a different story I have seen chicken of the woods a few times but always gave it a tap and thought that's too tough for eating. Well today I think I found a pretty soft one just waiting for an id on Facebook to see if I've got the right one.
Part 2 please :) It would be great if you did a video on each tea. I mean like start with a shop bought product. Zoom in on the ingredients then give it a Lets Go, then star swip to forage then star swipe to the tea being dried for storage and made. i particularity interested in the red teas. witch i believe are a mix of plants.
How'd you come to know all this stuff? I find myself getting more and more interested in plants and botany. I'm a massive tea drinker too, I'm very interested to know how these plants taste. Very interesting video, to know that I myself can find and make use of these plants with just a little knowledge, amazing!
Basically from years of reading books and putting it into practice. I’m basically always foraging when I’m out, always looking in the bushes haha. Also I’ve been on a fair few organised foraging walks as it’s nice to be able to ask a pro questions when you’re new to it
I’ve been looking out for the pineapple weed an after a few day I found it on the path only 10 doors away from my home I carefully pulled 2 up an I’m hopeful it will take and I can grow it on. Still haven’t tasted it. You say use it fresh or dried but can you freeze it. ❤️your channel
thank you for this video! i'm a budding forager very interested in learning more. would be extremely interested in opening a dialogue with you to learn more about where to forage, what to avoid, and tools i should carry :) i leave it to you if you are willing to share your personal wisdom!
I love watching your videos. Could I ask, which are the best books for beginners (UK). I'm always a bit frightened of making a mistake and picking something harmful. It would be nice to keep.a pocket guide book with me
I see pineapple weed everywhere on the pavement, in fact I see all the plants growing near the roadside in the best prime condition. It's like they know us foragers want to pick them so they deliberately grow near places we won't want to pick them 😫
I'm 99% sure that I found water mint. I say 99% because it doesn't smell like how I'd expected - it was actually quite odd, but not unpleasant, weirdly. It was like a strong toothpastey smell. Would you say this is how you'd describe it, or have I picked the wrong plant? xD Saying that, I have already imbibed 4 mugs of this as a tea over the past two days, and I'm still alive and well.
I was just thinking perhaps you might have found some Spearmint... Just as it's mentioned,Lol!! The Vast Majority of the Mint family are Edible and often Medicinal!! I'm pretty sure that the vast majority of the Mint family ~ have no toxic members... But, I could be wrong So it's best to check as there's always an exception to prove the Rule! Hi Amy thanks 😊. Yes, tree mallow is edible too in the same way, though the leaves tend to go rough quicker
Found some pineapple weed today after watching and learning from a lot of your videos. Thankyou for the great content!
What did you think of it? Cheers 😊

Thank you for the video, good description on vitamins and the plant itself. I only wish a description of taste was included as well.

Thanks 😊. I've never tried freezing it, I can imagine it would go mushy when thawed. Maybe just give a few flowers tops a go to test
Brilliant 🌞

Have you got a really good book with great photos and methods on how to use, that you could recommend.
Fantastic video. Really informative and fascinating thank you
Thanks 😊
Enjoy your videos always leaning something new. Would of liked a bit more info on making the teas. How many of each flower do you need per cup?
Thanks 😊. It depends on your own tastes really. But I'd say about a heaped tablespoon of the leaves/ flowers for all of the teas
Thanks for the feedback though. When I do part 2 I'll include more info on making the teas

A good pocket guide is the Collins Gem food for free. Quite detailed for a little field guide
