Ringwood to Lilydale Shuttles By Drone

On the 5th of October 2024 Steanrail Victoria ran shuttle trips between Ringwood and Lilydale using steam loco K 153 and the preserved electric suburban Tait set , this time I filmed these trips using a drone until the weather put a stop to that .

Great video. The footage was amazing. I saw the train today at lilydale and could hear it from my house in Croydon. I loved the shot of the train crossing the bridge. Hopefully you didn’t get too wet

Thanks , no I filmed that bridge shot from my car , kept reasonably dry .

Nice one John. First half of the day was excellent weather. Turned pretty bad at one stage and didn't improve. Nice and warm (and dry) in the business end of 381M. 53 ran faultlessly

Thanks Matt , yes it was good weather at the start but Saturday morning traffic was a bitch , just missed a couple of shots because of it then the heavens opened up .

Awesome John! Were they using E-Power as well as steam on that ? I see the pants up. And as far as the rain goes, wow, that was a good dump there. Reminds me of here in BC. Cheers AC

Thanks mate , yes the Tait was powering , you can hear the K start to speed up coming out of Lilydale when the Tait notches up to give a helping hand .and yes I was lucky to get the shots I did , it was very heavy rain .
