That is an awesome looking coat. Love the sheer joy on your face opening that box. I looked it up and well my wife would literly kill me if she saw the credit card statement for that. I thought the packer was their most expensive.
I sure hope you kept it. Looks good on you and it will form with wear.
looks good my man!!!
Looks like a good fit to me. Nice jacket
Oooh boy! Beautiful!
That's a sharp looking coat.
Bro that fits you like a glove.
It really looks good on, so you could keep it, but a Large might be better for hoodies and such underneath. Curious if it's the same specs as last years in terms of thickness and everything. Looks really good and I'm sure it will age nicely with time and grime. Big splurge, but a lifetime jacket for sure! Looks great
It does look very good on you, but totally understand needing room to move in it. Also nice to have the ability to wear layers under.
That thing is slick!
Very nice jacket. Filsons sizing all ways seems to be a bit wonky. Big fan of the look of their jackets and wool products. I've also got those big Bill wool pants, they work great in the winter when I'm moving snow, or out in the bush hunting.
That is a awesome jacket.
Perfect fit!
Actually that seems like perfect fit to me. Also leather actually scratches but it doesn't have any type of action backs or shoulders that would allow you to move full range, in this case you should just stratch it with your body and ware as braking it in. But if it doesn't have that magic you hoped for it doesn't make sence to keep it
Отличная куртка!👍🏼
Mate, been watching your videos and I have the same issue: it's always pulling in the back when I straighten my arms forward. You should look into shooting jacket, because the feature you're looking for is "action back". I've stopped getting jackets without it.
love the hat
I think once you break it in, it will be a perfect fit. Probably stiff since it’s new
Great video, bummer it did not fit that good. Same size here, saved me some money though.
I where a cheaper black stallion pig skin welding jacket over the top of a wool jacket in the winter time and it keeps me warm in subzero temperatures and I work of the coast of Lake Michigan the combination keeps the wind off me and I’m out side for 12 to 16 hour straight sometimes.
I'm 5'10" tall and 180 lbs. I wear size medium in all Filson Mackinaw Wool Cruisers, Parker Coat, and the Jac Shirts. I also own several Filson Short Tin Cruiser Jackets, and the Roughout Leather Jacket in this video, but I wear a Large because they are sized smaller compared to the Filson wool garments like the cruisers and jac shirts.
Hey I'm curious. I"m also 5'10" and about 180....but a lean muscle build. I have a medium Cape coat, Packer Coat. Both are great fits. I bought the short denim cruiser used on Postmark, size M, and it's a smidge snug, but when I tried on a large at a store, it looked a little big on me. Same with the rough out leather. Medium is nice if in a t-shirt and never using your arms lol. But, the large seemed almost too big...given the jacket supposedly will stretch. How do the Larges fit for you?
Sounds like you are having some buyers remorse. If you are not totally happy with it send it back. That’s a lot of money to spend and not be totally satisfied
shut up money was made to be spent
Absolutely. Filson sucks.
How does the Filson Merino Wool shirt hold up?
I know exactly what you're saying about the way the fit feels, but it looks perfect on you. But you need to be able to reach up and down without feeling restricted.
Did you end up getting the Large?
Keep it mate, wear it as a all season jacket. Don’t sell it, like it’s made for you!
That leather should stretch over time right? 🤷🏻♂️
Those pants r lit my guy 😎👍
I bought one but 3 snaps didn't work and the pockets were coming unraveled. $1500 bones I sent it back. Ended up going with a Ship John wills.
Love the pants are they filson as well?
They are awesome pants! They are the big bill wool pants www.bigbill.com/ca_en/100-wool-pant-210
What size are you?
Maybe It could be a date night jacket
What pants are those you are wearing?
They are the big bill wool pants! www.bigbill.com/ca_en/100-wool-pant-210 I have a video on them I did awhile ago
Roughout leather tends to be more abrasion resistant than the smoothout leather. That said, given the fact they're asking $1500 USD for the jacket, there is no excuse for it not to be perfect out of the box.
I wish Filson sizing was more consistent. Heck, you can buy two of the exact same product in the same size and they'll be slightly different.
looks kinda like a welding jacket, tough i bet
Only snap buttons?
Yes
Couldn’t get a better fit for you
That's a nice fckn video.
Do you get paid by Filson to hawk their goods? Seems like you do a lot of Filson garments an d Filson is great but they got away from Woodsmen and Hunters with all the Price Hikes; compared to Johnson Woolen Mills or Bemidji at 20-35% cheaper for similar stuff they lost me. Let them cater to the urban crowd if they want too.
No I’m not paid by them. Yes I agree they’re stuff is definitely overpriced, most big brands are. With that said I still do see the value in buying a quality wool item once and having it for the rest of your life. Apart from their wool items I do think you can find everything else you need at a better price somewhere else. I do have the big bill and Johnson woollen mills wool pants as well and and I think they are just as good as the Filson ones as far as I’m concerned. And they are both way cheaper. If you have any suggestions for wool cheaper than Filson i would love to check it out.
@@wildforwool3821 Well I don't know about for the rest of your life if you are young but on my 30th Bday I bought a Filson cruiser and I'm 66 now ($89 on sale) and yeah it's worn out but I use it for the woodlot and the garden. In Canada Boreal Mountain Anoraks. In the States Johnson Woolen Mills. I bought their Adirondack plaid Bibs for $279 vs $495 for Filson and I like their bibs better. Same with their pants. My 1950s Woolrich hunting pants (cuffed ankles) are unsurpassed and Bemidji woolen mills still turn out some stellar items. My favorite Pattern is the old Malone Plaid from the Ballard Mill in Malone, NY. Woolrich copied it and called it the "Malone" and Johnson calls it "Adirondack Plaid". Bill at Bemidji calls it "990" after the cloth number. I have an old "990" coat Bill's dad made circa 1980. Not a true cruiser bc it has no map pocket but it's not a Jac Shirt either bc of the 29 oz wool. The Malone plaid goes back to at least the 1920s or earlier from Ballard. Bemidji started making wool for Minnesota winters in 1920 and Johnson in the early 1840s. There are others I am sure. Another pattern I think highly of and it's at least a 100 year old plus is the "shadow plaid". The LL Bean Malone plaid of today is a joke and is no longer the original. Back circa 1970 a pair of Malone pants from LL Bean with heavy Woolrich cloth was $29 I believe. The Duluth Woolen Mill made cloth in 32, 35 and 40 oz weights for those brutal northern winters. The earliest Mackinaws were often double breasted hunting coats for warmth as needed in Wisconsin, Ontario, Minn and the Dakotas. Sorry to be so wordy. Please do some videos on the stuff real outdoorsmen can use that isn't priced for Chicago and Seattle.
Fits perfect , not a cold weather jacket … I own the first generation jacket that’s slightly lighter in color . My jacket weighs a lot and is stiff as a board , it will require a tremendous amount of wear to break in. I agree that there’s no freedom of movement, and it’s no very functional. The jacket that I own would definitely pass the barbed wire test … Obviously , your not in love with it … if you plan on doing chores with it , it’s not going to work … send it back , for the record , I sold mine .. not functional … move on …
Dude just being honest you should have saved your money
Sorry, $1500 is totally absurd
You are 100% not a large in this lol.
This is one of the problems with Folsom. And why I’ve stopped buying their clothing and coats. The Alaska and the Seattle styles. I understand the disappointment in your face. You pay a lot for a such a “quality” brand and they deliver mediocre.
Overpriced
Looks like a Shipjohnwills jacket
