Yumiko and I talked a lot over breakfast today. We discussed next steps, past steps (and missteps) and our many as yet unrealized wishsteps. Overall, we’re ready to say sayonara to America, which has been very good to us these last ten years. This is not a goodbye of dissatisfaction, but one of “enough”-of simply having our lifetimes fill of one of the most dynamic and interesting places on Earth. We’re ready now to withdraw from the mosh pit that is Southern California, to the more measured, disciplined and familiar life venues of Japan.
