Advent gilding day 12. Applying sand as a decoration to an angel mdf cut out, gilded in Caplain Leaf using both water and oil gilding. Christmas tree decoration. Gliding water, 4 parts water, 1 part isopropanol alcohol, a pinch of 12-1 rabbit skin glue.

That came out a treat... I often wondered what gave that coarse finish on some frame borders, against the burnished leaf the contrast is very effective. Maybe this is my favourite of this series - but there is tomorrow ?
