      100% ONLY motorcraft or OEM on these. Aftermarket does not last long or sometimes doesn't act right altogether on these. Just do it right & use quality parts the 1st time!!

    You have the clearest instructions of any video I've ever seen. I appreciate you're honesty about the difficulty level ex. having to do things blind & the tools you've laid out before hand. You are the only one that has been actually been helpful by just sticking to the task at hand & not muddying it up with a bunch of unnecessary bullshit. P.S. be sure to video the next time you do a repair from start to finish so we can see the actual process in it's entirety. Thanks

    I just replaced all 8 plugs on my 2013 E350 and this video was a huge help! I was able to remove and replace all 8 plugs from inside the vehicle with little trouble. I will say that taking the extra 15 minutes to remove both front seats was a huge time saver as it made it much easier to reach all of the coils and plugs. I did remove the PCV valve hose as it was routed over plugs 2,3 & 4 as well as removing a bracket that held some other vacuum switch on the back of the intake plenum. I was careful to hand tighten all 8 plugs (about 8 turns) before putting a torque wrench on each one to get the torque set consistently at 11-14 ft.lbs. Overall it wasn't as difficult as I had suspected, about 3 hours of works at a leisurely pace.

A tree fell on my Lincoln last summer, crushed trunk,blew out back window. I went to junk yard got trunk,rear window did all but paint it. Even body shop F**** UP letters. Great video, thank you. Your camera work was good and left a clear field of view. I would add to make sure you blow out the area of the spark plugs after you pull the coil boot. Then blow it out again after you start turning the plugs out. You don't want anything falling down into the cylinder. I even go so far as to stick the compressor wand down into the spark plug hole and blow out the cylinder just before I install the new spark plug. You really don't want any junk going into the cylinders.

I did change out the plugs and coils .. all of them at about 230,000 miles and I had to change out a couple sensors a while back... I had to replace ball joints and tie rod ends..and that’s about it.. nothing else except brakes and calipers ..... do your maintenance and drive responsibly and you’ll get a lot of life out of those vans

    Thank you handsome. I have a miss so I'm gonna go replace them all since I don't have a scan tool. I bought the 2004 e250 about 3 months ago for $2,800 has way alot miles 273, 000. I know I should have waited but I was so tired of looking. It ran great. Air works, and i drive it everyday to work. I changed its oil & filter & air filter myself It doesn't like hills very much but apparently it's common with this year. But for some reason the battery was dead and I think it was the terminal hopefully. I cleaned it but it still messed up cause I haven't drove far enough to charge. The idle is rough big time., but it idles better when I turn on A/C. I work alittle on vehicles so Im gonna ck vacume hoses and replace sparkplugs. I plan on taking good care of this old van cause it's soon to be my home. I tore out all the metal shelving which was a pain for me I even had to cut some parts out with my grinder. I now have hardwood floor, frig/freezer, fake but looks real wood stove heater. My bed a fold down desk and some other things. Its cozy. I will do a video eventually. I just hope I can get to know my motor well so i can take care of her. I hope the plugs work and there's no more miss in the idle.I just decided I'm gonna put semi expensive sparkplug wires. Anyone have a van like mine?Which boots and wire set do you think is the best for this old van???

    Lots of good info here. My plugs took a bit of force to break free but once I got movement they all came out easily. New plugs in and misfire gone. Cheers mate!

    After watching this it's makes me think my engine may not be that bad off. Repair shop is saying I need an engine replacement but it could be bad coils.

    • @ozzstars_cars

      Better get a proper diagnosis. Engines aren't cheap.

    • @jacobsmithjr
      @jacobsmithjr 2 роки тому +1

      I did but I'm not sure I trust the shop. I have a friend who is a mechanic he's coming by next week. The engine has over 200,000 miles. Wires and plugs were charged a few years ago but not the coils.

    I have to say I "liked" your video, but I can't say I "enjoyed" it. I got a 2000 E-150 van with the "service engine soon" light on and it's apparently had these coil on plug problems before. My dad took it to a garage, but I see this job coming in my future, I'm predicting a LOT of cussing. Thanx for the video.

    This is my first time to do this on my 2005 E350 van. It seems there are different techniques. I've changed 3 and 4 so far working from inside. It seems like it would be easier ,as one guy shows , to release the fuel rail. I am hesitant to do that.

    • @ozzstars_cars
      @ozzstars_cars  Рік тому

      Why waste time on that? If you do install new orings on the injectors.

    You also need compressed air to blow dirt and debris out before removing plugs. Otherwise, there will be engine problem

    • @ozzstars_cars
      @ozzstars_cars  2 роки тому

      That's good practice but not necessary on a clean engine.

    5 and 6 from the front are very do-able. 7 and 8 from the rear, very do-able. 4 from the rear, do-able. 1,2 and 3 I'm not sure. I gave up by then. Lots of crap in the way of these three. Make sure you have a quarter inch swivel joint for your little ratchet. You will need it. Prepare for having your hands scratched and beat up working these tight confined component crowded spaces. If you can do all eight, I applaud you. I only got five. About two hours per plug. This is why I wouldn't trust a mechanic; He might give up like I did and not say anything. But I'll bet he gave up on plugs 1, 2, or 3! I personally feel proud that I went 5 out of 8 rounds! Wish I could have gone the distance, but we are not all Rocky Balboa and love to take a good beating. Happy wrenching my fellow Nutz and Boltzers!

      1,2 and 3 plugs from the front. Remove 3 coil from the back. I can do all 8 plugs in 1.25 hours easily. Gravy job

    Now that I think of it, I've never worked on a van in my life! Never really thought about it, but that's the truth. Looks like I should be thankful! 🤣 My arms, shoulders, & knees would be in agony - same reason I hate interior work so much.
    Great tips here, Glen - I'll remember this if I ever get one in here (fingers crossed that I don't 😂).

    A nother thing I recommend is anti seize on them threads will dry as dirt then drop in the sparkplug hole and possibly risk a valve to burn😮😢

    I did plugs on old Chevy Astro Van for my brother in law once. Had to get some plugs from the bottom and some from the dog house on top. I did one from the bottom and went to the and pulled the next and looked at it and it was brand new. It was the same one I from the bottom. Hands all scraped and cut up. Boy was I pissed.
