You must sleep good at night knowing you're an exceptional and honest mechanic and the fact that this man and many others will bring work to you out of trust. I am very impressed.
People like you make me proud of the mechanic community here on UA-cam. It’s a shame that the so-called experts at the dealer didn’t even diagnose it correctly.
Give the highest estimate you can does one of two things, it will make you rich or it will scare the customer away, primarily customers just don't know so the tech can get rich quick and still give some type of a discount, once you sign the work order, you promised to pay the high price, no discounts required from there.
Great job on diagnostics. I’m a municipal fleet technician and this manifold runner control noise has affected a few of our vehicles. One was sent to the dealership (not by me) for a noise that I was told sounded exactly like valve train noise or possibly a rod knock. They ultimately said it needed a new engine. They even claimed that they cut open the oil filter and metal was found. I don’t believe that this was actually done. After replacement I was the person that picked it up from the dealer and immediately heard the noise and notified the service writer that got the tech to come out to look at it. He said that it was probably a lifter that needed to break in. I said that that’s not correct but called my boss who wanted me to bring it back to our facility anyway. I asked to take a look at it and found that the noise disappeared when I unplugged one of the runner control solenoids. I drove the vehicle back to the dealer and showed the service writer and tech and they acted like they’d never seen that before. They ended up keeping it for a while. It’s getting bad that dealerships seem to be increasingly bad at diagnostics, at least on certain things.
Great video, thank you! My 2020 F150 has the same issue, truck is still under warranty and ford says there is nothing wrong, it’s just a noisy engine and just accept or deal with the noise. Can’t wait to go back and watch the service manager view this diagnosis ….spot on 👍
@@Meowface.I just went through this. They replaced my intake manifold but it makes the same noise. Ford refers to it as a mechanical typewriter sound. They said there is no type of damage that will occur and I should just deal with it. I'm going to install a boss 302 manifold and buy a tuner for it. I can't deal with the embarrassing noise.
@@Drockvr4 Yup exactly what they told me. Its embarrassing that everyone always stops me and says I have a bad lifter and I have to tell them no its just a 5.0 tick and they look at me like I'm dumb lol

Hey brother, I have to do all my work myself, because the Toyota dealership from my tundra, I wouldn’t trust them for all the tea in China. If I had a mechanic around my area that was like you, I would trust them 100%, and have faith and their ability to properly diagnose, or repair any issues I had. Thank God above I don’t really have a lot of issues. I did catch the Toyota dealership not changing my oil filter. Isn’t that sad. You are a true inspiration that rejuvenates my faith in mechanics. Word-of-mouth will make or break you. If you were in my area, I would let you advertise on the back of my truck. Keep up the good work buddy.
Thanks for the kind words Freddy. I'd like to send you one of my YTube channel stickers. It's only 3 inches big but might look cool on your truck. 😎 Email me your info if you like at ozzstar@aol.com. 👍 Take care -Glen
I want to thank you for this video. I just bought a 2018 5.0 f150 from Manheim for $8500 4x4 SuperCrew with 150K miles. They sold it as-is due to a nasty "ticking" noise. No check engine light, fresh oil change, sounds just like this one. I have a Autel Maxisys Elite I'll try this on mine. Mine makes the noise at all RPMs but to me it doesn't sound like the "engine". I appreciate the video man!
Thanks OC that was very educational. I have the same problem with my 2019 F150 with 30k on it. It seems like it's getting worse buy the day. Right at 1500 RPM it rattles like a metal on metal. Been getting the run around for a while, need new engine, need new bell housing, need a new trans, need a new front shock, and so on. Heck, by then I'll just get a new truck. Ford should have fixed this problem under warrantee. Great work on finding the mystery rattle.
Thanks Paul. More than several viewers have shown this video to their mechanic and helped them get the problem fixed. Hope your diagnosis goes well. Let us know how it goes if you can. -Glen
My actuators failed at 40k on my 19 with the 5.0. Ford replaced the manifold but the mechanical typewriter sound is still there... And they said to deal with it.
Ford needs to put a recall in that manifold .. It's a bad engineering design for that manifold. People are told that they need a new engine when it's a manifold problem. Ford should see this video. Thanks Man .. Great Video 👍
Write Ford an email and share the link.😁 Actually recalls are only for safety issues. Unfortunately in this case a noisey intake manifold doesn't count.
@@ozzstars_cars I agree and have a similar F150 at my shop now. I was currently a Ford dealer tech. But it should be a TSB ( Technical Service Bulletin )or even a GSB ( General Service Bulletin ) For safety recalls to happen PEOPLE/OWNERS have to make complaints to NHSA ( National Highway Safety Association ) then they will investigate issues and announce their results. For TSB and GSB we need more Tech like Ozz calling the engineers with their findings.
Looks like this could be fixed by putting some sound insulation under the hood. I think the manifold still functions even if it rattles. Anyway, it is information that can be used to get a good buy sometimes on a Ford pickup. 😁
Thanks for the in depth diagnosis & With that proper diagnosis, u gained a customer for life... & definitely a great word of mouth recommendation for future customers...
Had a friend who had his engine replaced last summer for same noise...thank goodness he had warranty...nobody left at dealerships with any knowledge and or honesty!
Plastic is ruining the auto industry look at all that plastic on the outside. They all use plastic now, but look how much Ford uses its crazy! As soon as I read the video title I knew it was probably not a bad engine those engines are well known for rattles and noises. Good catch earned a subscriber:P
Awesome video, great information for someone who does not know. I have a 2016 F150 FX4, Five ohhh. It was easier for me to diagnose because one of those rods for the runner was broken, and it just threw a code. No scary sounds in my case. I would have been scared shitless, if I heard those noises coming from my engine.
Seen a similar issue with a Mercedes engine involving moving plastic part's in its plastic intake system. The difference was, that engine was producing fault codes. None the less. Great diagnostics. Another win win for the customer.
Why can't I find people like this guy in the Denver area! I have a 2014 5.0 , 4 different shops and 4 different solutions for a #4 cold start misfires.
Hi Glenn! Thanks for the very informative video and teaching. Now this is how a smart Tech troubleshoots! Isolate the noise/problem and narrow it down. But shop Techs don't care nor do they have the time, get em in and get em out (the shop foreman/boss says) and if you can't find the problem, tell the customer they need a new engine, lol) So many corrupt scammers out there. Great Job!!! Cheers from Motown.
Make sure your not wearing a tie when you do the screw driver trick . I had to have my 👃 nose worked on. Just like Michael Jackson I opted for the clip-on .Joking of coarse.
I love my LS engines. None of these things happen to them. Chevy all the way. I’ve tried fords, and just can’t get past their high dollar parts, lack of reliability. But am grateful for mechanics like you. Good work man.
Great information. I’m one of the ones that bought an 18 F-150 5.0 in 2020 with 19,000 miles. It now has 37,000 miles. Noticed in burning about 1 quart of oil every 2500-3000 miles, noticed it smoking white smoke on startup and a rattle noise when letting off the throttle at around 2,000 RPMS or lower, you especially hear when in a parking garage or up near a Jersey barrier. Went thru 10,000 miles worth of consumptions test to tell Ford this isn’t right. As of last visit they just came back with right side spark plugs oil soaked, needs new short block and right side cylinder head.
Ford completely butchered the F150 5.0L in 2018 when it was redesigned with GDI. A real shame. Good to know your truck is under warranty, that's no cheap fix!
Great video! You have a new subscriber here. What angers me most is that this went to a Ford engine specialist. There is no way they didn’t know this and still recommended a new engine. They collect their $9k, put a $300 part on the old engine, and put it in inventory waiting for the next sucker to come in. You are a hell of a tech and an honest man. I enjoy the well-paced, methodical way you covered this. Keep up the great work! PS: Rainman Ray just did one of these on a RAM, so not unique to Ford V8. In that case the runners were bound up and causing performance problems.
Thanks for the comment and compliment Frank. One thing we can all agree on, manufacturer's don't mind using cheap parts! Even though a mechanic has an ASE patch on his arm doesn't mean he knows exactly what he's doing. Take it easy. -Glen
89k miles mine is starting to do this..I had a warranty trans and torque converter replacement done 1mo ago, now this...love my 5.0l 17 f150 truck thou..thanks!
My friend has 2018 F150 with 5.0. Had similar noises and what sounded like piston pin knock. They Ford Made repairs under warranty. Several months later noises came back , started using oil. Engine died He brought it back to dealership waiting for engine which is on back order. The 10 speed trans also has issues Nice video
Lookin good in 4K my friend! This was a good topic. My solution to rattles in the Savana is to have enough of them that I can't hear any specific one :) Merry Christmas to you and yours.
I'm a 20 year mechanic up in Canada, just started a new job with a fleet of ford 6.2s, 5.0s and 6.7s (60+ vehicles). Mostly worked on Cummins before here, so Ford isn't my specialty. This video will definitely help. Currently dealing with a 5.0 coyote with cylinder 8 misfire, narrowed it down to worn out valves. I suspect one of my other trucks has this intake runner issue.
Awesome video - I’m dealing with ford mechanics right now and they said I need a new engine because of the ticking sound.. I asked them where was the ticking sound coming from and what was causing it? They said without a complete engine teardown they could not tell me that only that it was at the bottom of the engine somewhere. I said you guys order brand new engines before you actually know what’s broken. He told me the noise was metallic sounding and I’d surely have tons of engine damage due to components grinding sending pieces of metal all through my engine leading to catastrophic failure …, I asked him where is all this metal going because there’s none on my oil drain plug or in my filter … end rant Thx for the awesome video, you have a new subscriber …..
Make sure to show the video to the shop foreman and the service manager. Getting your vehicle diagnosed by someone competent these days is difficult. What year,.make, model, engine size and mileage is your vehicle? -Glen (Ozz)

@@ozzstars_cars you bet ozz. going to try and get to the dealer and do a diagnostic. No engine light warnings from the dash. Drove it all day, ran smooth. It's just annoying. You can bet I'm not going to fall for a "new engine." Dealerships are like hospitals.
Thank you for the diagnosis you definitely know more than the Ford dealer because I just had my Ford F-150 in for the same noise and they told me everything was normal even though it sounds like one of the lifters is coming through the valve cover now I'm pretty sure about telling them about the runners in the intake manifold I believe Ford knows about this problem they just don't want to put manifolds on all these coyote engines thanks for the great work
You are an awsome mechanic! Had a 2011 f150 i bought like 6 years ago it was a beautiful truck 95,000 miles. Noticed a noise coming from passenger side fender area shop said i needed new engine. I had extended warranty so i said whatever put it in didnt cost me anything. Put new engine in and after awhile it did same thing and ive noticed all of them do it. So to say the least the shop was wrong. Truck ran fine and was a great truck. These engines can just be a little noisy sometimes.
I'm a Ford truck guy. Currently I own three. If I had the space (land and shop) you have my collection would be out of hand! Keep picking up that camera and share your passion! Take care -Glen
My 2004 E350 Super Duty 5.4 2 valve engine with 180K is super quiet and can sit in the Florida 100 degree heat for hours idling if need be and not over heat. A really great engine and all I ever had to change was the oil and filter and plugs and coils. That's IT. These newer Ford engines scare me, I'm keeping my work van and will put another engine it if when it fails before I buy a new one.
I have this same issue on my 2019 s550. Dealership told me it was normal and don’t worry about it. They actually took me for a test drive in a different mustang it also made the noise. Rattle is right 2200 rpm and only with no engine load. It’s super annoying for sure
You bought a Ford… 2 seconds of research on repairing F150 you get thousands of videos… coincidence. Owning a Ford is for folks who love to work on cars and have $ to burn for this “hobby”
You sir are an exceptional mechanic! I own a 2017 with a 5.0 and I’ve been worried about this sound since I purchased it. I just could not figure it out even with my stethoscope. Sometimes I also swear there’s a rod knock but not coming from the bottom end. I think the knock must be a cam phaser. It’s a spectacular engine but I suppose I’m just used to a traditional pushrod v8 that idles real quiet. The 5.0 has about 6 billion more moving parts so I suppose a little engine noise can be expected. Or maybe it’s a ticking time bomb? Guess we’ll find out down the road.
Fantastic and informative video! Very same issue I have noticed on my 2017 F150 5.0 since 85k miles. Seemed to hear the noise more when cold outside and clearly something would "open" and click would disappear. Now with 169k one or both IMRC stuck closed with P2005/P2007 failure codes. This is the best diagnostic I have seen. With Ford now backordered with no delivery date on over 4800 pcs, this manifold is far from available, so considering a lockout option. If you sold a lockout kit with lockout tune, would be a great product link to this. I am manually searching options at the current time.
It's a shame that there are so many units failing and Ford can't keep up with production. A manifold runner delete would be the only alternative at this point. I would not trust the aftermarket on this one. If you find a kit that is a quality part please let me know. Email is ozzstar@aol.com Thanks! -Glen
The dealership are saying it’s the cam solenoid and that the noise is normal. They are willing to replace it but are saying it will not change anything. They said the problem in this video was corrected in newer models I have a 22 5.0
Ive had my first 5.0 coyote f150 for a year or so now. It makes all kinds of noises that in the past motors I wouldve been very worried about but people say its normal. Throttle plate clicking, high pressure fuel system ticking, and a lower end kinda tapping at idle.. all while running completely fine..
Similar thing happened to me with the noises coming from my 2018 F150 xlt 5.0 with 90k miles on it. I was told by the dealership that the engine had compression issues and that 2 of the valves were completely burnt up. Smh
Just to add. Those flappers change the intake air path between short and long runners. The long runners are to give the incoming air extra velocity for torque at lower rpms. The short runners are used at higher rpm because the air is already moving fast and can go straighter into the combustion chambers. The shorter path is used to eliminate some of the air path and thereby reduce restrictions.
Maybe 20 yrs back a young bloke bought a big Kawasaki inline 4 to a shop a friend worked at, the kid had been quoted $AU2500 by a major dealer to replace the crankshaft, Bill removed the alternator cover and found the starter clutch loose. Four HT screws, some loctite and a gasket saw the problem fixed.
It's the VCT syllanoid on the driver's side. It sounds like a ratchet. Going off and on when it hits 2000 RP m's and then when it warms up, some of them seem to go away. But if you're going to underground when it's warm you'll hair a little ratchet noise again
Would it possibly get better as the vehicle warms up? My 2017 f150 5.0 makes a clicking sound when cold and I can hear a whirling sound under acceleration that seems to clear up after driving for a while.
Intake runner will rattle at any temperature when it's defective. Cold start rattle tends to be cam phasers, timing chain slap, lifters, lack of lubrication, things like that.
@@ozzstars_cars I really appreciate the response! As others have pointed out, it’s tough to find a real mechanic and not just a parts swapper. Great video BTW!
Big discovery here .. Many of the first gen gt350s had that exact noise from about 1500 to 3,000 rpm The Ford dealer did nothing and said it was normal bc they all do it .. All the gen 1 5.2l motors vibrate so harshly that if anything is loose it will make the noise resonate to an obnoxious level.. My gen 1 motor ended up drinking 4 quarts of oil every 1,000 mi at it's worst before it was replaced.. I checked my oil every time I wanted to drive the car so I was smart enough not to blow it up .. If it blows up bc your not checking your oil Ford says That is bad maintenance and that is the customer fault. No warranty.. Well I finally gave up at the dealer that I bought my GT350 from and brought it 2 hours away from me to another dealership where my uncle worked.. They didn't drag their feet and try to perform oil consumption tests or dying the oil to see if it's leaking or anything like that.. They were told what was wrong and they immediately took my word for it and called Ford saying I needed a replacement motor.. My uncle was head mechanic so I know without him Ford would not have done a thing for me . The engine was shipped and arrived in just 1 day .. So it took 1day to get the $27k motor , then 1 day to pull the old motor out and 1 day to put the new one in .. I love my uncle with all my heart bc if it weren't for him , I would have likely waited months for them to finish the job .. He put 4 people on the project to get it done ASAP and also help not to scratch or dent anything bc they worked together to make it easy .. So I got a new gen 2 voodoo in just 3 days .. Most people on the net would be lucky to get their car back in 3 months. I seen a vid where a young man had a 5.0 coyote making a huge amount of noise .. He found a power plug or vacume line to the manifold and every time he took the power or vacume away the noise instantly stopped . I knew the prob with oil consumption b4 I bought it new but never thought it would get that bad .. The dealer still insisted 4 quarts within 1,000mi was within Ford spec which it wasn't .. Ford spec is burning 2 quarts every 1,000 mi .. That is insanity but I was consuming double that and I pressed hard for a gen 2 voodoo replacement 27,000$ The big point in my story is that the ticking went away bc Ford re-engineered the intake manifold for the gen 2 GT350.. And the young man with the new 5.0 had his manifold replaced and it purred like a kitten .. So if you have this noise pull the power or vacume from the manifold and if it instantly stops then you know for sure you need a new one . There are thousands of f150s and mustangs with this issue the dealer says is normal .. So go to the dealership and show them in person what's wrong by pulling power or vacume from the manifold . Only then will they warrenty it .. I hate stealerships .. If you're still under warranty they want to make you go away because they don't get paid a lot for want to work. They only want the cars that have fallen outside of warranty so that they can make the big bucks fixing them.. So if you have a problem with your Ford, you can't be polite in order to get them to help you have to shove their face into the problem. Nowadays, all of the factory warranties that come with new cars don't mean anything to me because the dealer will almost always find a way to get out of paying for the warranty work.. Oh you have a cold air intake ,, denied Oh I see Uber or Lyft stickers on your windows, denied. Oh , you ran it completely out of oil and blew it up? Warrenty denied.. The car isn't 100 percent stock warranty denied. Ford corporate requests pictures of the entire car from the dealership before they make a decision on whether or not to warranty any work needed.. So if they see something that they can use to deny your warranty, they absolutely will.
@@ozzstars_cars You can attempt to accelerate air up to the point where it will not even move into the cylinder = the piston will go down and up without any air moving into the system - water is uncompressible but it boils under vacuum - you can be moving while not accelerating

2014 f150 5.0 have cat issues below efficency, air fuel ratio is 14.6 ish at idle, fuel trims are off by 3 numbers both short and long term. Sometimes runs rough at idle, lower rpm power feels down but strong over 3500. Had an exhaust valve spring break but replaced it on cylinder 3 but it was sending hot exhaust gasses into the intake enough the runner for 3 would get hot hot after 30 sec of idling. Got all new plugs, coils and injectors(motocraft) and a new intake manifold. Had a misfire code on 8 but a new coil and injector smartened it up a bit. Trying to replace anything that may have been damaged with the exhaust feeding into the intake. Should be getting my cats replaced soon as well. Based on process of elimination if this doesnt fix the rough idle and low power at low rpms i believe the fix to be either a valve job of reman engine. Based on this do you feel im barking up the correct tree. Ive got limited diagnosis equipment other than a basic bluetooth scanner and forscan light. Im too cheap and dont trust sending it to a ford dealer after my last experience paying 600 for them to tell me my valve control body in my tranny was fine trying to downshift at highway speeds to 1st or 2nd gear. Im decent at the process of elimination but usually because i try 50 things first starting at the easiest fix. Truck has 160,000km or 100,000 miles usually running 0-40w delvac, but tried 0-40 euro car this last change and it seems to be too thin at startup as i started getting some smoke out the exhaust yesterday before the truck is fully warm but cant really tell if its oil or a leaking injector loading up a cylinder. The bank with the slightly differnt fuel trims also runs a very incosistant afr and bounces between high 13.8ish: 1 range to sometime touching 15:1 just cant remember if it was bank 1 or 2. One had the issue on cylinder 8 misfiring and 2 had the issue with the broken exhaust valve spring. 90% of what i know comes from self teaching and two strokes so im a little lost and looking for some guidance as id like to be able to fix whatever doesnt need a special $1000 tool or lift myself.
Nice one. I have a rattle in my mustang's coyote. It sounds very similar to this F150. I believe the intakes are similar if not the same. Its getting checked out on Monday, but maybe it is this! Nothing like some ill informed armchair mechanicing right! Thanks for your informed video though!
The intakes are designed different. The intake runners on your Mustang is lower profile engineererd for horsepower over the F150 design for torque. Thanks for the comment John and let us know how your cars diagnosis goes. Maybe show them this video? 😉
I have a rattle situation going on that I’ve been chasing and curious if this might be a culprit, haven’t taken it in for diagnosis yet, but trying to self diagnosis beforehand to help a tech’s search. Somewhere around 1500-2000 RPM I will get a slight rattle/clatter, the noise won’t duplicate in park, only when driving, and it seems to do it at/after shift points when the rpm’s drop. It’s not every time either, but does it somewhat regularly. Once I get above 2000 rpm’s it goes away, or if I am heavy on the gas I don’t notice it at all (not sure from engine noise or it’s just blowing past it.) It does it regardless of engine temp. My initial concern was a timing chain or cam issue, but not entirely sure on that. Yesterday I towed a trailer for a bit and it was much more consistent and prominent. I watched some videos on potential issues with exhaust VCt solenoid as well as IWE check valve. But with what I am experiencing, does that seem consistent with what this video is addressing? Appreciate any direction or response!

I can't even imagine how many perfectly good engines have been replaced due to misdiagnosis the problem. Thanks for sharing that story!
Dealers are being carried by their service departments. Service departments are trying to make the most money possible.

Great video, thank you! My 2020 F150 has the same issue, truck is still under warranty and ford says there is nothing wrong, it’s just a noisy engine and just accept or deal with the noise. Can’t wait to go back and watch the service manager view this diagnosis ….spot on 👍

What happened with ford ? We’d love an update here !
@@Meowface.I just went through this. They replaced my intake manifold but it makes the same noise. Ford refers to it as a mechanical typewriter sound.
Good luck!
Standard sound for an injector nozzles on an 18!

-Glen

He told me the noise was metallic sounding and I’d surely have tons of engine damage due to components grinding sending pieces of metal all through my engine leading to catastrophic failure …, I asked him where is all this metal going because there’s none on my oil drain plug or in my filter … end rant
Thx for the awesome video, you have a new subscriber …..

Hey Nicholas, how many miles does your truck have on it?
@@ozzstars_cars just rolled over 135,000 km so I think that’s roughly 85,000 miles?
-Glen

Similar thing happened to me with the noises coming from my 2018 F150 xlt 5.0 with 90k miles on it. I was told by the dealership that the engine had compression issues and that 2 of the valves were completely burnt up. Smh
Did you get the truck properly diagnosed? Tell us the story.
That's good info! Thanks for sharing.

Wish I could find mechanics as thorough out here in Southern California (Long Beach area).
Big discovery here .. Many of the first gen gt350s had that exact noise from about 1500 to 3,000 rpm
The Ford dealer did nothing and said it was normal bc they all do it ..
That is insanity but I was consuming double that and I pressed hard for a gen 2 voodoo replacement 27,000$
The big point in my story is that the ticking went away bc Ford re-engineered the intake manifold for the gen 2 GT350..
Oh you have a cold air intake ,, denied
Oh I see Uber or Lyft stickers on your windows, denied.
Awesome video, thanks for putting some knowledge out on the interwebs!!!
You got it!
this system extends the affect of cam timing allows you to pull a larger vacuum at slower engine speeds 19:14
Explain that one some more.
@@ozzstars_cars You can attempt to accelerate air up to the point where it will not even move into the cylinder = the piston will go down and up without any air moving into the system - water is uncompressible but it boils under vacuum - you can be moving while not accelerating

Sometimes you need a special tool.
Ive watching a few of your vids already your a mechanic man your the mechanic id want to work on my stuff 👍
Thanks slab, just trying my best. Thanks for the comment.
I just can't imagine at the dealers they haven't seen many of the same issues after a few production years. So whats really going on ????
Exactly!
Good job Ozz!!
Thanks and happy holidays
Follow the detailed instructions in the video to find out if the intake manifold runners is defective or not.
Will do!
Appreciate the response
Master class 101.. Proof when you find a good mechanic.. He is your guy. Until he retires. He gets all your buisness. Always 1st in the speed dial. When you find your guy, thats your guy. This guy, would be my guy.
I tell my customers that all the time, including my home remodeling business. Get and keep him until the party is over. 👍 Great comment, thanks! -Glen
I haven't finished the video yet, but this sounds exactly like the problem I have in my 2023 GT. I just got it back from the dealer and they said it was the "Coyote Tick" and chose not to fix it. It's a very embarrassing noise for a car guy to have on a new car especially.
It's disappointing to pay so much for a new car under warranty and be told by incompetent mechanics that nothing is wrong. My suggestion is go elsewhere and find a technician who is qualified. Smh.
@@ozzstars_carsI see that some people buy lockouts for the arms that move the runners. I'm assuming this would stop the noise as well. It just locks them open.
Great video 👍🏼 thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Glad it was helpful!
I think you just saved my tuck I’m having the same problem! And also my truck is shutting off when I come to a stop and rough idols
Replace your cam phasers my son in laws 2018 5.0 f 150 was dying occasionally. Fixed his problem. But I think his motor is still noisy. It may have this issue on this video with the noise.
