You have the best approach I've seen so far. I did this model in the 60's but don't know what happened to it. Now I'm going to approach it with some adult skills.
Turned out amazing! Another thing from my childhood back in the early 70s. Used to love this guy, still do I guess. Had a big black light poster of him. Lol. Those were the days. Thanks so much for sharing!
What a great build and not an air brush in sight. Just goes to show what you can achieve with a spray can. I remember seeing those kits in my local hobby store in the late 60's but I never bought any. I'd love to have a go at one now.
Yet another great build review Chris! I hope they do continue to dig deep in the archives to bring out the older stuff. Keep doing what you do sir! Your videos are appreciated! 😎👍🏾
I built another one of Ed Roths monster hot rod. Monster looked great. Only thing i was not happy with was the driver sat way to high. Tires on box were huge but when I looked inside they weren't the size that were on box cover. I looked thru spare parts and found the Meister brau tractor pull model. I grounded the treads away, did a little axle adjustments and it looked killer. Also changed legs to sitting position and it looked like the box drawing. That orange color you used is pretty cool looking. Thanks!
Fun to watch. Did this type of stuff as a kid. Shelf space is at a premium & my interests are quite vast. I like checking out kits I have no intention of doing but, still curious. Plus to thrill over the stellar work you do. I've seen some sweet stuff done on this subscription. Seams are no big issue with me either. I try to do them, but, now we have plastic putty. Good stuff.
That's pretty cool!👍 I watched your review and build of the Peterbilt tow truck and it gave me an idea for the paint scheme for the Mack r685st semi tractor I'm building. I'm gonna paint it yellow and dark blue just like the Peterbilt tow truck. I'll be posting pics of it on the Scale Auto Magazine website. Keep up the good work and God bless!👍😁
YES!!!! Was hoping you'd get around to this one! If I'm not mistaken I think there's a few more kits in the Big Daddy monster series. Hope you get 'em all and show us!
Not my type of subject, but yeah, it's a pretty cool kit. As you said, these weren't released often, which is most-likely why the molds are in such good shape.
Still have mine around somewhere I built from original issue. Painted it Testors spray can yellow car and Mr. Gasser Testors brush paints same colors as you.
Man I was hoping you'd do an Ed Big Daddy Roth kit ! He was always someone I looked up to in the Hot Rod/art work world since I love Hot Rods and I do artwork myself. I hope one day they do a kit of the Sidewalk Surfer. He was a character creation of Ed Big Daddy Roth who rode around on a Hot Rod skateboard ! I was a skateboarder for many years until I got old. Lol. I'm currently working on a Lindberg 34 Ford Pickup truck kit I picked up at a bargain store for 10 bucks. I have the paint work almost completed on it. Still have to do a little more painting. I work 5 days a week so it's hard for me to find time to do continuous work on my models. I usually have to wait until I get a day off and have no other plans. And I am just getting over a bad sinus infection so I haven't felt well. Sorry I haven't been commenting on your channel Chris. Not only have I been sick but I have been having issues with my internet. And yes, Mr. Gasser's mouth probably DOES smell the same way ass his butt ! Lol.
Chris, I delight in these looks at what is available on the market. You seem to me the most know- ledgeable about cars. I am trying to understand: what is the point of chrome trim and parts on vehicles, please? If you need to pass my query to another, feel free.
Can you tell me if you use the Simple Green at full strength to get the 'mold release' off the parts, and what kind of primer (the black you used on the whole model) do you use on these plastic models? Thanks. I'm just getting back to model building, doing a compos-kit build with Drag Hag and a '32 Ford hot rod kit custom build.
I list what paints I use in the video during the painting section. As for the body prep you can check out my video on painting models with cheap spray cans, just search the home page for those key words. Thanks!
I used the same paint you did and both colors on the figure and car splattered really bad. Ruined both. What am I doing wrong? They were both brand new cans.
Hi Chris, another blast from the past. I had a T shirt with him on the front. I have a question about the molotov pen you speak of. It is possible to get that at a craft store, and what colors.
Really enjoy your videos. They're very informational and have inspired me to try several of the kits you've built on your channel. Can you say how you get all the cool colors from rustoleum? I have some trouble finding some of the colors you recommend. Thanks, and keep the videos coming.
I can't wait till you do a full build review of the 1/600 scale R.M.S. Titanic by Revell Germany!.I have built the 1/570 scale version of the kit by Revell USA,and it is a pain in the ass;to fill in the big seam that is visible where the stern section of the hull halves, gets glued together;as it requires a lot of milliput two part epoxy putty, and sculpting with sculpting tools;to get the hull plate texture,to scale!.You should do full build reviews on Revell Germany's Kenworth K100 Aerodyne COE in 1/32 scale, and Revell Germany's 1:600 scale SS United States.
@@hpiguy Thanks man.Hopefully this new 1/600 scale of the R.M.S. Titanic will have the hull molded as one piece like the 1/600 scale S.S. United States.I have built Revell Germany's 1/600 scale S.S. United States;and it is an easy kit to build. It was a really fun kit to paint, and cement/super glue;together.I used the boxart;to fully rig it using 00 sized thread, and a .80 sized drill bit in my pen vise, and super glue;accelerator & baking soda for when I have run out of accelerator;or if I have spilled it by accident, and it turned out beautifully.
Thanks, me too! Modeling should be a hobby and fun. The demand of perfection and that other's should meet that demand as well has really pulled the hobby down. I'm trying to lift it back up and show that it can be fun again!
Cool kit and great job, Chris. Mr. Gasser creeps me out, I don't think I would like him on my shelf. I think a his full name should be Herbert G. Gasser!
Rat-Fink takes me back to better times.
You have the best approach I've seen so far. I did this model in the 60's but don't know what happened to it. Now I'm going to approach it with some adult skills.
Talk about a blast from the past !and then sum ...... wow.memories!
What a fun build - you always stress modeling should be fun, and you sure seem to enjoy doing them. Thanks again.
Thanks Mary!
Never had the chance to get one of these when I was a kid, very happy to know they've been re-released!
Enjoy!
"It is imperfect, and I don't care." Probably my favorite youtube quote. Great job! Hilarious commentary. 69/10. 🖤😂
Glad you enjoyed!
Turned out amazing! Another thing from my childhood back in the early 70s. Used to love this guy, still do I guess. Had a big black light poster of him. Lol. Those were the days. Thanks so much for sharing!

I had this when I was 10 in the early 70"s cool!

Man you're pumping out the models and the videos. Which is great I really enjoy watching these. looking forward to the next one great job.
Thanks Steve!
Love it! I went and got this kit because of your video. It's a super fun kit! I like your more carefree approach to building.
Thanks, Enjoy!

Thanks a lot Daniel, I love building anything at all.
Cool little kit... I love these comic kits that allow you to go wild with your imagination. Needless to say.. nice job as usual :)
Thanks again Hisham!
Very cool, fun build and presentation Chris!! I love it!!
Thanks Ron!
Such a cool looking and very crazy kit. What fun.
Thanks Rich!

WOW, I have one of these still in the box but its an original one. sweet build !
Build it up man!
That turned out really boss (showing my age). Keep 'em coming.
Thanks Mark!
Great choice. I remember back in the 1700s, I had one of these.
I remember my old an building all of these when I was a child
Brings back memories of all those "Ed Roth" kits and "Wierdos" kits of the 60s.
Lol. Cool build looks like a fun one to build. Great job Chris.
Thanks Charlie!
Not my type of subject, but yeah, it's a pretty cool kit. As you said, these weren't released often, which is most-likely why the molds are in such good shape.
I remember the ads for Big Daddy's T shirts in the back of hot rod mags when I was a kid.
Nice!
That is awesome what a great detail job. Keep up the great work and Rust in Peace.
Thanks a lot Chopper!
I saw Big Daddy at a roadster show
back in the day ... bought one of his
Rat Fink tee shirts and wore it til
it disintegrated
That was a fun build. Great work dude!
Thanks Tim!
Looks so much easier then when I was 11 years old. Where's that Testors cement and paint with the brushes?
Still have mine around somewhere I built from original issue. Painted it Testors spray can yellow car and Mr. Gasser Testors brush paints same colors as you.
Also didn't have floorboard in original kit
Love to see his Emily Post....👍
Great job.👍
Emily Post? Fill me in.
3 Stooges....Moe says to Curley before he starts eating..."Where's your Emily Post"? Curley puts his 2 pinky fingers up....Moe says that's better....
Nice!
Man, a Stooges reference and Ed Big Daddy Roth all in one day.
I am truly among friends.

Thanks Chris ! I'm starting to feel much better. Your videos and models are awesome !
Do you scratch off the paint to paint glued surfaces before gluing, or?
Nope, super glue holds very well, paint or not paint.
Cool Build ... Thanks for sharing

This looks awesome my friend!!
Thanks Todd!
Love him brother , Thanks for posting!

I built a Revel model kit just like that back in the ‘60’s.
For the final painting did u use craft paints
I used the same paint you did and both colors on the figure and car splattered really bad. Ruined both. What am I doing wrong? They were both brand new cans.
Hi Chris, another blast from the past. I had a T shirt with him on the front. I have a question about the molotov pen you speak of. It is possible to get that at a craft store, and what colors.
It's called molotow chrome pen and comes in chrome 1mm 2mm 4mm and replacement ink. Can get on eBay and other online stores.

Between Walmart, Menards and Home Depot, Lowe's etc I end up with a lot of color choices.
kool build keep them coming
Thanks Gilbert!
You never told in the video but it where you able to attach the 1/350 K'tinga Photo-etch after painting?
There is no photoetch in this kit.
@@hpiguy sorry I totally forgot to type 1/350 K'tinga
I would like to see you build the Paul Reveres Raider Hot Rod . “ Totally Like WOW “
If they reissue it, for sure.
@@hpiguy I bought a repop a few years ago on ebay
You can also add Tamiya flat base to future if a more dull protective finish is desirable.
Thanks!

Cool! If only I could use my same spray booth with spray cans. It's right next to my bed.

Please forgive me for this question what do you mean that you clean the parts?
Here's a video I did on model cleaning, prep and painting to explain.

Never could understand what attracted modelers to the Rat Fink series... I do not like them.
