Jon I have been watching your videos and I find them fascinating. You really have a knack for holding viewers attention. I am 60 years old and thanks to you I have found a new hobby. Life was losing its zest but now it is exciting for me again. Thank you Jon. Sincerely Phillip.
That's really cool because now you can glaze the inside with something like a white or celadon or anything since it's not covering any marbling. The marbling is just on the outside so there could be even more variety to the pieces with interior glazing
Very clever! And smart way of doing it! Thanks for sharing your brilliant idea.❤ OMG! Can't believe the 'baby' (not a baby anymore) is skiing! How cute he is!
Love it! I will have to try this. I have all this colored clay I don't know what to do with. Didn't really like what I originally bought it all for. Thanks for sharing!!
Love the ending of video, i was thinking along the same lines myself with white clay in the middle and marbled clay outter layer but you did it 1st you bet me too it, cuzzzz im still waiting on my potters wheel to arrive next week, keep loading up videos love them all
Hi, you are very inspiring! I watch your videos here in Brazil and I love it when you show new techniques, this is a stimulus for anyone who likes to work with clay. Thank you for your amazing posts and for showing your organization in your studio!
Interesting stuff indeed. Beautiful results ☺️ question; wedging the clay helps to remove air bubbles right? Do you think the pressure from working it on the wheel is doing the same job here? To help combinee the plane clay and the marbled together? A pleasure to watch you work. Thanks for sharing your time with us. Till the next one ☕
With all those colored clays have you ever considered giving nerikomi a try? I've been working with Continental's raku clay, the range and hardiness of it is ensuring for experimentation but it does have a lot of grog. Been meaning to give the B clay a try. Continental has been having a difficult time getting porcelain, don't know if that's changed recently.
Mixing different marbling looks so beautiful. I would love to get a quote dinner set made in similar colours. How much would that be (in Australia Dollar)?

I like where you’re going with this! Making it your own for sure and really getting creative with the color contrasts. Nice work!

These are stunning! Have you ever tried putting blobs of solid colors on the outside instead of marbling first?
Thank you for all your UA-cam’s great stuff

Coning on the wheel helps to get air bubbles out and will help mix the clays together.
@@dildo_baggins4419 nice, thanks : )

Sou do Brasil e amo seus vídeos 😍❤️❤️
I suppose you don’t cone it up too much cause that would’ve messed up the effect / blend the colors together ?
Can you color clay yourself
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
How do you color clay
Happy 2022 JTP! I've missed your posts. Love your videos, thanks for sharing your family!!!!

@Lydia Fraz yes, this stacked marbling is a neat effect. I think it's technically a form of swirlware. Or at least the throwing technique is similar.
👍👍👍
