The Peterson Farm Bros are made up of Greg (33), Nathan (30), and Kendal (27) Peterson. We are 5th generation family farmers who farm together in Kansas with our parents David and Marla and our wives BrookeAnna (Greg's), Riley (Nathan's) and Caelan (Kendal's). We’ve had only 3” rain last 100 days here and have been missing rains all around us last month. Our wheat burning for 3rd year in a row and hoping for rain to plant our main crop of cotton. God is good and has blessed us with wonderful grandchildren. Enjoy you children as being moms and dads is your most important role.

I live west of your farm in kanopolis ks and we're hurting for rain around here. There's a continued saying that we are in a dome that's keeping the rain 🌧 from us! Keep praying.. .

Absolutely nothing good about the dry weather, other than the cattle sure look clean and great. Sure hope you folks get some much needed rain.
We have a plenty in most of Michigan, northern Ohio and northern Indiana.

We are located in SEK. Went from drought to 15 plus inches in a few days. Not complaining but funny how fast things can change.
Looked like you got the rain you needed last night . The whole area was covered in storms.
Yep, we got anywhere from a half inch to an inch. Still need a lot more! We're about 10 inches behind our calendar year average rainfall! 20 inches behind for the last 3 years!

We will be chopping and baling some closer to home. We aren't short on feed but do want to make sure we stay ahead

Any reason you can’t run poly pipe and have troughs from a well to secure water supply every year to the pastures? Wouldnt have to rely on the ponds and can then graze each year?
No underground water in that part of KS. So no wells. All of the houses have water district water that's pumped in, but too expensive to run that to all the pastures. And it's rare our pastures are dry like this.
How can I get into a farming

Neighbor has a new tractor and planter sitting in the field that is probably close to a million. Going to need more than a couple million.
