That road is becoming a masterpiece of Andrews enduring persistence to excellence. I would hate to estimate the cost per metre to get it to this stage, cost of machinery, fuel, spare parts etc and yet it has turned out awesomely compared to how it was originally. There’s no substitute for the right machinery and Andrew is never short of that.

Andrew, I think that is one of your best buys and worth whatever you paid for it. All the work of cutting down trees and having to clean up after them and having the mulch left behind to rot and then spreading seed to grow grass is fantastic. WORK SMARTER NOT HARDER. Amen

Also, if you keep that flap/door on the mulcher, you can kinda hold/trap small trees on the right side while you lower the mulcher down on them. The rotation of the mulcher will hold them and eat em up quickly.

Ha! Monday afternoon, 9 million degrees and 6000% humidity. I was going to do some scratching up the yard and new seed with hay, etc. Then I see that Andrew has posted a new video 2 hours ago. Yay! I have been rescued from a terrible job today. I will drop anything at any time for a new Andrew video, especially with this particular weather that my body can no longer tolerate. So - Thanks for the perfect excuse not to do landscape type work. And, Andrew, thanks for continuing to provide (in my humble opinion) the best that You Tube has to offer.

Andrew, you should add a hydraulic oil tank, and grease tank to your fuel truck. So when you do fuel, you can also grease and add hydraulic fluids. I would add an air hose also so that you can do tires from the same truck.

I've been waiting for you to clear out some more trees and brush by your long driveway. That will make it drier without all that shade on it. You'll be surprised. I have only 10 acers about 60 miles away. In two years. The trees have sprouted so much new growth. I have to trim up everything again. But that new mulcher will clear out all that overgrowth on the sides. Nice that you can sit in heat or air-conditioning and wack that brush, without worrying about ticks, posion ivy etc, the old fashion way. Cool satisfying video!

Cool! But for your greater convenience, you need to install a continuous flow function, I think you can install an additional solenoid and button. Ideally, the excavator should be equipped with a combined hydraulic system = 2 pump - 2 way flow with the ability to combine flows. In this way, the flows from the two pumps will be combined and the wear of the pumps will be uniform, and the base machine will not lose in the speed of operations. Greetings from Russia!

Take this advice from someone who does this professionally under power lines all day. Manufacturer quality is important for these mulcher heads, a cheap head is going to take a lot less abuse deadheading and is overall going to wear out a lot faster the more expensive higher-end heads such as shearx are actually really tough heads and have been through a lot of abuse I've seen them out in the field lifting tire machines with just those heads and they have a lot of really neat features. As for the teeth keep them sharp maintain them otherwise they will begin to get a curve in them and you will end up losing a lot of teeth life when you try to sharpen them the next time. Change teeth regularly as well depending on your terrain either use pounders which are meant for Rocky terrain and used to go to dirt or use knives if you need high production but only in very good ground where you're not going to be geeting a lot of rocks. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask me

@@AndrewCamarata yea, if it was cedar trees the mulch would take 15 years to decompose. ripping trees out of the ground and throwing into the fire leaves the cleanest look by far

@@AndrewCamarata so it depends on the machine and location. Here in Oregon it's currently level 3 fire danger, so no burning and we cannot burn brush or trees under power lines. Heads designed for smaller excavators (less than 250hp) are not great for trees much over 10" to a foot. Many heads also have a certain working angle that they perform better at and of course hydraulics are always a factor. If you want to get more power to a cutting head so that you could take whole trees you would need a power pack to replace your counter weight. We have a CAT 538 kited with a 4' head, it's mainly used for the worse terrain we see but is a beast. However cat reprogrammed it to divert more power to the hydraulics when the head is on so the travel speed and swing power is terrible. The best way to operate a head in that situation is to only turn it on when working with the head and turn it off for movements. I really wish I could show you how we use them and what for because we actually do very little tree removal with the head and focus mainly on woody brush. You could check out the recent shorts for the channel DirtDustMud and that would give you a small view but there is a lot more.

If your new 235 has an extra aux hydraulic circuit available. Id reattach the hydraulic door flap thingy. It'll help with the chip debris flying everywhere and It should give you a place to feed the trees like if you were putting it in a wood chipper, without it wiggling everywhere and making 3 to 4ft "splinters".

@@AndrewCamarata That's a shame...I run flailmowers/mulchers often at work and its usually way faster to mulch the trees then drive them back and forth and burn them, unless you got a second hand to transport them...then again if you got a second hand, you can run a second cutter lol. I was going to suggest when cutting to cut opposite of the flail mower, i.e. swing to the right when cutting instead of the left, usually cuts way better and faster, also doesn't nearly drag the mulcher into the tree/stump like cutting to the left does, such as at 31:50 . And rocks + mulcher = instant dull/chipped blades. Not worth trying to mulch stumps all the way down to the dirt in your area as a single rock can ruin your teeth if you aren't careful, so it might be better anyways for you to rip them up and back fill the holes I guess. I would say ripping the stumps up might cause erosion issues on those slopes, but you got plenty of rock to go around so it probably won't be an issue for you. Been watching your videos since the "replacing the mounts on a bulldozer blade" video, love your videos and hope to see many more in the future!

That mulcher surely works as nice as the small one. I'm sure it will helpful that that driveway now has a few less trees that are extremely close to it or leaning into it.
But now i wonder if the new Hyundai can run that mulcher and use the thumb at the same time since the mulcher clearly has the option to "grab" stuff with the thumb.
