Don’t ever pick your tattoo . You risk taking the ink out and messing your tattoo! Please take my comment into consideration as I have multiple tattoos
After some experimenting I use Hustle Butter while being tattooed and afterwards. It is an all natural product and seems to let my skin breathe better. My tattoo artists used it instead of Vaseline while tattooing me on the last two tatts. After it healed I continue to use Hustle Butter on all my tattoos, which keeps them looking vibrant and the skin moisturized. My artist didn't origiinally recommend this, but after both of us researching it and and trying it out it sees t be working well for me.
Thomas my good friend. Agree with you all on it, I just started using it aswell and I really do like it as it's a vegan replacement for petroleum based products. Still testing it out but finding it does bring more vibrancy to my tattoos and keeps my skin mosturized. Plus you don't need alot to put on. Different from what I normally use on my tattoo for just day to day maintenance keeping my tattoos looking thier best. 👌🏽
I truly appreciate you!! Your information is clear and precise. Your open to comments and questions. I’m glad to know that I have a bumped into your page and now following you. Amazing advice and tips and I and back into the tattoo world and having a little issue but try is is EXTREMELY helpful

Thank you! I just got my first tattoo and my artist recommended I use aquaphor. She didn’t tell me anymore than that due to a language barrier, and I researched a lot before and heard using aquaphor too much can suffocate the tattoo. I’m currently on day 5 of my tattoo and noticed it’s a little flaky today and itchy and was considering switching over to lotion rather than the thick aquaphor!! Now I know tomorrow morning I’ll wash my tattoo and moisturize with cetaphil!

I was always told to never use antibacterial soap, neosporin and Vaseline on a tattoo by every artist I went to. I've always used A&D ointment and Aquaphor for mine
Just found your channel and wanted to say awesome video and awesome sleeve. I have a bunch of tattoos on both arms and just wanted to say the shop I go to use the tegaderm patch which heals the tattoo incredibly fast. I leave the patch on for four days and then after that I just wash it twice a day and use After Inked lotion. That seems to work the best for me for healing my tattoos. Just wanted to ask if you have ever heard of After Inked and what are your thoughts just comparing it to Lubriderm or Aveeno.. Thanks...
Hey what's up Pete! Thanks for the awesome words 👊🏼 and that's awesome. I've never used tegaderm or anything else related but have always wanted to try and see how it would perform. Also have never heard of the after inked but I'll definitely look it up and get it for myself to see how it works 👊🏼
I normally use dove Unscented everyday but when I got my tattoo I switched to dial which I think has made it real itchy. I’m switching to my normal dove I didn’t know dove was antibacterial!
Im an Electrician and im at construction sites all day if i get a hand tattoo and slap saniderm on it will i be fine and will it heal well if it stays on my hand for 2 weeks
Thanks for the tips. I am doing my whole shin and calf and requires different sessions. My question is, Every time I have a session I use aquaphor as ointment in the new work done. Then I switch to moisturizer (lubriderm). So, everytime I get new work done would you recommend to use ointment in the new work and keep moisturizer in the job was done previously? Thanks
Can I use Shea butter on my new tattoo??...it just finished peeling... I was told by my tattoo artist to use Vaseline, which I did. But I don't know if I can switch to Shea butter
I always like to be over cautious and wait two weeks but you can go after a week if you really want. I’d say the bigger the piece the longer you should wait
At the very least, make sure not to expose a new tattoo to direct sunlight for the first month of having it - especially the first two weeks. Not only will sun exposure during this time cause the tattoo's colors to fade, but it could actually burn your skin and scar it from sun damage.
I got my first tattoo today had a hard time finding unscented soap but it was antibacterial, but i didnt know it was a liquid n not a cream or foam based, so ima go get a block of dove soap instead n use the aveeno or whatever is is lotion, n you said coconut lotion is ok to use?
getting my lower half sleeve in 4 days, gotta go to work as a mechanic the next day, do I just wrap it and wear a loose long sleeve shirt all day ? Can I leave it all day wrapped until im off or should I bring everything and clean it at lunch ?
You’re a mechanic so a very dirty job. My advice is to either use Saniderm because it will be a great protective barrier but if not then make sure to wear some plastic wrap for the first couple days, wear a long sleeve, make sure you’re not sticking you hand down areas that can getscratched, and wash it every 3 hours or soo
What’s your opinion on the h20ocean aftercare? I am currently using that for my first tattoo in the inner bicep. It’s day 5, I have little peeling and some parts feel a little dry.
I have my first tattoo done and i used lubriderm moisturizer on my first day on the second wash. Is it okay to use moisturizer since day 1 i don’t know where i can find the ointment in my country? i’m currently on day 2
How long into your healing process? If it's already done peeling and Everything is flaked off then you can pretty much use whatever you want. Just use very little to make sure the skin isn't clogged and can breathe 😊
Unfortunately I'm currently living in a very humid and hot country with a very strong sun. It's been about 5 days since I got my first ever tattoo (on my forearm). It's hard to avoid the sun since I only packed short sleeves, and now I'm nervous I might've ruined my tattoo.
I got a tattoo long time ago but when I would cover it with ceramic wrap the skin around her turned super red and I’m not sure if I was only supposed to have the bandage on for 1 day since I had it for 5 and only took it off when I cleaned the tattoo?
it's supposed to stay on for 3 days straight and then you wash it every day. you probably irritated the area by cleaning it so soon and continuously removing & adding ceramic wrap
I used bepanthen for my first two tattoos, they all came out well however I am getting a new one in 2 days, and I am thinking about maybe only use palmers cocoa butter. Even if bepanthen helpers just fine before. I would love your input in this you seem quite experienced and your tattoos look fantastic, thanks for this very useful video! New sub here!
Cocoa butter is something you can definitely try out and see. Is recommended a lot and used in a lot of other products. Plus it’s Always good to try out new healing methods. I say try it out and see how your body heals
JustINKD Thanks!! I have two presentations, the very thick almost real butter looking one in a jar and the lotion. Not sure which one to use first. I got bepanthen just in case because I’m thy one 🤣 can’t wait, I will get Sauron from TLOR. Hopefully will turn out well 😅 thanks for your advice!!
I am currently in Mexico getting both sleeves done one is almost done and my tattoo recommend that as well it’s the best stick with bepathen it’s used for babies so stick with it 😀
@@justinkd i was also wondering this, is the sole reason for switching over because its easier to apply? The ointment im using (h2ocean aquatat) is easy to apply and ive still been using it a few days now into flaking, or am i doing it wrong and need to switch to a lotion asap?
You can use that if you want. It’s definitely a lot easier to apply aswell but usually a moisturizer offers different properties than healing ointments do
I got my tattoo Thursday and my artist told me to use baby lotion in the pink bottle. I used it until Saturday and got aquaphor. How long do I need to use it and should I get cetaphyl. Also it hasn't start peeling it's just a little scabby.
I don’t know what lotion that is but if you got aquaphor then you’re fine to use it up until about day 4. After that switch to any unscented moisturizer. Peeling should start very soon
Hi I got a hand tat and I’m peeling and it’s my 5 day should i stay using lubriderm or use a and d oniment still and when u do our more of the lotion since u have to keep it moisturize
Just got my first tattoo last week there’s a lot of peeling and the ink is coming off I only wrapped it first day I moisturize before going to work and before going to bed I sweat a lot at work so I don’t know if that makes it worse
Wow my aftercare routine is the exact same as yours lol except I use lubriderm only and start it after the first 48 hours. All my tattoos healed so well. I hate the sun so that helps 😂
@@justinkd That's correct. I do nothing besides wash it 3 times a day for the first 48 hours and then after that I continue to wash 3 times a day but apply ointment 3-5 times a day depending on how dry and sore it gets but after the first week I dont do much, maybe apply ointment 2-3 times a day until healed. Your piece are beyond sick by the way 👌👍
I'm coming to end of week 3. Slight drying and peeling but not itchy. Still washing once a day. Is it ok to apply hawaiian sunscreen/moisturizer now? Its uva/uvb 50 but I can smell fragrance so wasn't sure
⁉️🤷♂️ HELP QUESTION: So day 1-3 I know wash and soap but do I then put on coco butter on and then right after put on the Lubriderm right after or should I wait to put on the moisturize for a certain period of time after the healing lotion or just skip the lotion on the healing lotion days 🤷♂️⁉️
Hi I really hope you answer.. I just got my first tattoo literally like 3 hours ago and I’m confused on what to do. My tattoo artist said to leave the wrap she put on the tattoo for 24 hours.. but she gave me an aftercare sheet which said 1-2 hours and every other source has said keep it on for only a few hours. What do you recommend? Also is the ink smudging under the wrap normal ?
Depends on what you’re talking about. If it’s a second skin then leave it on for 24h if it’s just a Saran Wrap, then take it off after 2-4 hours and clean it

i use glysomed but i have a vasoline lotion that i found makes my skin not itchy
Can you use Nieva cream for your tattoo
Personally I have never used it but I’ve heard good things about it 👊🏼
I have my first tattoo done and i used lubriderm moisturizer on my first day on the second wash. Is it okay to use moisturizer since day 1 i don’t know where i can find the ointment in my country? i’m currently on day 2
Hi my tattoo is n its healing process. It already peeled . Can i use aqueous non cented cream or coco butter lotion with vitamin e?
How long into your healing process? If it's already done peeling and Everything is flaked off then you can pretty much use whatever you want. Just use very little to make sure the skin isn't clogged and can breathe 😊
I really like tour bed sheet were did you get it?. Thanks for the video
I have no clue bro, I’d bet they’re from winners or somewhere like that
Healing ointment like vitamin A and vitamin D thingy?
Unfortunately I'm currently living in a very humid and hot country with a very strong sun. It's been about 5 days since I got my first ever tattoo (on my forearm). It's hard to avoid the sun since I only packed short sleeves, and now I'm nervous I might've ruined my tattoo.
You’ll be fine as long as you try your best to take care of it. Sunscreen, shade and clothing is your tattoos best friend
What soap is it specifically is it?
I got a tattoo long time ago but when I would cover it with ceramic wrap the skin around her turned super red and I’m not sure if I was only supposed to have the bandage on for 1 day since I had it for 5 and only took it off when I cleaned the tattoo?
it's supposed to stay on for 3 days straight and then you wash it every day. you probably irritated the area by cleaning it so soon and continuously removing & adding ceramic wrap
I got a tattoo 13 days ago and got scabbing. Is it normal to still have crusts on the 13th day?
I am currently in Mexico getting both sleeves done one is almost done and my tattoo recommend that as well it’s the best stick with bepathen it’s used for babies so stick with it 😀
I’m on day six of my tatto and I didn’t use any cream except lotion on day 5 and it has some big scabs what should I do
For me when I got the scabbing I avoided putting anything on that certain spot. Continue to put mosturizer on once a day but everywhere else
At what point are we able to go from using non-scented antibacterial soap to normal body wash? I’m about 2 1/2 weeks in on a new tattoo
At 2 1/2 weeks you're probably healed depending on how big it is. 2-4 weeks to heal approximately
Great video man just one question...I’m confused at what point you stop using ointment and switch to moisturizer/lotion? When it starts peeling?
I usually switch over once the tattoo starts to flake
@@justinkd i was also wondering this, is the sole reason for switching over because its easier to apply? The ointment im using (h2ocean aquatat) is easy to apply and ive still been using it a few days now into flaking, or am i doing it wrong and need to switch to a lotion asap?
You can use that if you want. It’s definitely a lot easier to apply aswell but usually a moisturizer offers different properties than healing ointments do
how long should i clean my tattoo for? i’ve had it a week
Keep cleaning it for 2 weeks. Now that it’s been over a week you should be cleaning and applying moisturizer 1 maybe 2 times
You’re fine 👊🏼 don’t stesss. Totally normal
I’m in the moisturizing part of the healing. But it still looks dry & cloud on day 5-6, should I switch my lotion from Aveeno to Lubriderm?
Continue to moisturize. If it’s seriously dry put alittle more on. The cloudiness will fade away in about a month
Wow my aftercare routine is the exact same as yours lol except I use lubriderm only and start it after the first 48 hours. All my tattoos healed so well. I hate the sun so that helps 😂
That's awesome bro, but So you don't use any healing ointment after the tattoos done? And yeah I've learned to now hate the sun aswell ✌🏼
Your piece are beyond sick by the way 👌👍
@@justinkd Pieces* lol
My tattoo artist just put shrink wrap on my tattoo and told me to leave in on for 4 days, I’m on day 4 should I change anything?😂
I'm coming to end of week 3. Slight drying and peeling but not itchy. Still washing once a day. Is it ok to apply hawaiian sunscreen/moisturizer now? Its uva/uvb 50 but I can smell fragrance so wasn't sure
Yeah you’re fine to apply now, it’s 3 weeks after so it should be 100% healed 🙋🏼♀️
Hii. From India...nice video.. gd information...🙏🌹
You put only the healing ointment on first for the first 1-4 days. Then after that switch over to moisturizer. Don’t use both at the same time 👊🏼
Hi I really hope you answer..
If it’s a second skin then leave it on for 24h if it’s just a Saran Wrap, then take it off after 2-4 hours and clean it
Just wondering, do tattoo shops sell these aftercare products themselves or not?
From my experience most shops will sell a type of product, not these exact ones but have the same uses
Can you use lubriderm advanced therapy? Or it that too strong?
So I have a question I hope u reply ! I’m on my 4th day of saniderm so I want to take it off tonight but idk what moisture to use after I take it off
Use anything that’s fragrance free. My fav is lubriberm
