I have a 2022 N1K SX, how did the tune change the performance of the bike specifically. The hp gain isn't very big. I'm interested to hear how the decel mod works on your bike, mine has a noticeable jerk on deceleration. All and all I really like the way my Ninja delivers power on the road, very manageable for how I use it (lots of commuting and weekend 2-300 mile rides). Anyways I was debating whether or not the tune was worth it for how I ride. Cheers

@@ehiggins7476 The tune completely changed the character of the revs and power. Power happens everywhere vs at high rpm the power fell off a cliff. No more, you get power all the way to redline. The bike just simply has better power delivery all through the rev range. Hard to describe but wonderful….

The type of exhaust systems has alot to do with the power curves and where their making their power. Both are great bikes and make plenty of street power. Most people want utilize power of either. The GSX-S1000 is quite a bit lighter (better power to weight ratio). It's really according to what your type riding you do as to which bike works better for you. I have ridden the GSX-S1000 in the mountains. It handled unbelievably well and can't imagine needing or using anymore power on the road. I was riding with my friends we all been riding Supersport for 20 plus years. Each of us took our turn on my buddies new 2022 GSX-S1000 and where quite impressed in the twisties. For me it be the GSX-S1000 for my aggressive riding style. I loved the straight up sitting position. After all day with it I got used to the looks. It actually looks awesome from the side view. I believe I'm going sale my gsxr 750. My aging body fell in love with the comfort losing very little in handling departments in the twisties.

Having ridden both the gsxs1000 and the ninja 1000sx (both tuned).. hands down the ninja is a better setup and better overall performer. Yeah the gsxs1000 has a little more peak power up top BUT you need to look at the over all picture. The ninja has more torque and horsepower from the start of its rev range to its peak power.
Having dragged both bikes the ninja takes off quicker and maintains a good position. At top end theres really not that much difference as they both perform well.
Also for the mountain riders out their, the ninja is far superior, better brake feel, torquier and much better suspension especially going over bumpy surface. Im not saying the gsxs1000 is rubbish but in comparison ninja is more refined.
Peak power isnt everything, its how its delivered

To answer your question, I rode the GSXS 1000 before buying the N1K, and the Kawasaki feels faster in everyday riding. The fatter torque curve makes shifting to pass optional, and ridden in isolation I do not feel like the N1K is lacking much on the top end, but I'm shifting at 10k during a hard pull. I did not take the GSXS to redline, but the relative weakness down low was enough that my test ride was over 5 minutes in. N1K all the way. Also, the N1K is seriously more comfortable for my 6'1" 230lb self.

The power curves on these bikes reflect the character of each when you ride them. The SX has more torque, but needs it as it's all around more doughy (214 wet vs 235 wet) and generally softer to ride. The power curve of the suzuki reflects a more focused, sharper bike, which the GSX is.

Outside of my current FJR, the N1K & GSX1000GT are two of my favorite currently available bikes. I'd love one or the other in my garage. Both great bikes, for sure.
I previously owned a modded '11 N1K and it was a fantastic bike for a solo rider, not so much 2 up, ergo the FJR in my garage now. The latter is also a fantastic bike, just 150 lbs too heavy. But for longer rides or two up? Hands down the winner.
Given my druthers, I prefer lower end power so the N1K for the win but I could easily 'settle' for the GSX too! Not the M4 muffler, tho- too loud. I prefer the quietude of the OE exhaust. The M4 is obnoxious.

You just answered all my questions on my 2021 Ninja 1000SX. I’m ready to send it in! Any promo code for us po folks in Louisiana? 😂 I got no mods on my bike. No real mods to get for it since it’s the SX. 😞

Kawasaki is 1043 cc vs 999 cc for the Zuk. ...not much difference but doesn't hurt when Kaw is tuning the engine for sport touring. Kaw also weighs about 50 lbs. more

Did you tune the ninja our just remove restrictions? Seems a bit down on power for a bike that is rated at 150hp.

I choose the gsx s1000 coming from 2x naked Rf900. Straight pipes, ex valve delete and ecu mod. Saving for the Woolwich kit for full ecu control. With standard tune, it wasn't pleasant on or off throttle. I prefer power top end and grunt low down. City riding is pleasant, it's 1000cc and light so the torque difference isn't really an issue until you start wide open pulls on dual carriageways which tends to be high revs. I need to ride a Saki again. Any offers in Yorkshire area, UK. And you can ride me Zuki

I’d go with the ninja….would feel quicker in the pants for what most people’s riding style but if you’re drag racing maybe that gsxs top end but I prefer the harder pull but I’m sure both are insane for the average person

I'd take the older version Ninja for the street, the newer is down on power and fatter. Bottom line for 2023 models the tuned Suzuki is probably better. I'll keep my 192 HP 2009 Busa though!
Good Job & like you comments
