- Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse was a huge surprise to moviegoers and comic book fans. Despite being an animated Marvel comic book movie the film won Best Animated Feature at the Oscars, put Miles Morales into the spotlight and grew a fanbase as over the next five years of its life.
Five long years later, we get a sequel. Enter Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse. Is the sequel as good or better than the first movie, or is it a shallow, uninspired version of its former counterpart? Only one way to find out.

I love the contrast between these 2 lines from into and across the spiderverse “you can’t think about saving the world, you have to think about saving one person” and “you have a choice between saving one person, or saving an entire world, every world”
for me they are relatively equal,

pacing - BOTH
conflict - ATSV
characters - ATSV
actions - ITSV
humor - ITSV

feels - ITSV
payoffs - ITSV
so ultimately it just boils down to personal preference and lets face it both movies are great and they compliment each other so lets just enjoy both.
I feel like Across The Spiderverse has the better world building, bigger threat, better side characters and has the much better plot and evolves the characters in ways that make sense, while Into The Spiderverse has better pacing and a proper ending which Across the Spiderverse kind of lacks, so overall both are great movies but I slightly prefer across the Spiderverse and I mean only slightly
I like Into the Spider-Verse better, but the credits song/scene for Across the Spider-Verse almost made me change my mind.
Spiderman 2099 isn't a vampire, it was just that when he got his powers he was mutated and got fangs and talons of a spider.
I love how in the first spider verse every other Spider man was glitching except miles and then in the sequel Miles is the only one to glitch.
Also when miles glitches in this movie you see the Spider-Man brand suit thing from the first movie for 1-2 seconds
Both movies are 10/10 to me.
These movies are both masterpieces to me and no one can change my mind no matter what and in my opinion they are both a 10 out of 10
Across The Spider-Verse was my most anticipated film of 2023 and it did NOT disappoint. I even loved it a little more than Into The Spider-Verse. Into The Spider-Verse is still an amazing film though.
Don’t forget that Into the Spiderverse really started this surge of media using the Multiverse but it actually handles it expertly unlike so much of the other media

I was honestly surprised that this movie actually had higher rating than the dark knight. Even though it was for a little bit, it was pretty impressive
The Dark Knight was overrated. I remember people saying it was the best batman film ever made due to clips with Heath Ledger as the Joker before the film was even released. I even saw it the day it was released.

@@mrt445definitely agree while the film isn’t bad at all. Heath is really the best part and the only great part. The rest of the film is just decent. I never been a fan of Nolan’s Batman either.
@@brazyfilmo3121 To me Heath was never as good as Jack Nicholson's Joker. His performance was also overrated in this film.

I guess you can say jack was more accurate to the comics but as far as performance I was more impressed with heath then the other jokers and I think without heath performance the movie wouldn’t be so hyped. However nun of the Batman movies ever really got it 100% right for me. The 90s Batman animated show did it the best in my opinion.

We still get a pretty big payoff in Gwen’s arc when she fixes her relationship with her father
In "ITSV" I didn't expect to feel the way I felt when Peter died, it was jarring and surreal for me. And thought the music selection for the scene was natural for today's time. Also this movie was just as much Gwen's as it was Miles story. And she had a beginning, middle and end to her story leaving miles story to be concluded which I was fine with. Overall I have to say that, "ATSV" is the better movie it is the empire of the trilogy
I was late to watching ITSV and saw it around the time Chadwick Boseman had passed. Seeing everyone mourning for the their Spider-Man was relatable because it made me think about how it hurt the world when Chadwick died.

It feels like their setting up Beyond the spider verse for hella action fights the whole movie with spot and Miguel and prowler miles and possibly sinister 6. I’m so hyped but we probably won’t get it next year or maybe even the year after.

Across the Spider-Verse did one thing that I thought was going to be impossible going in. It got me to take the Spot seriously and I remember his interpretation from the 90s show being a bit ridiculous to me. I cannot wait for the blu-ray and will patiently wait for Beyond the Spider-Verse

Just wondering are you going to watch Oppenheimer and if you are/did will you make a video about it?
Both movies are equally amazing, spectacular, sensational, etc.
However, i still kinda prefer the first one just a little bit for it’s 3 act story structure and the pacing.
But the sequel is just a great expansion to the story and i couldn’t ask for something better than what we got. It’s one of the best sequels of all time imo.
I’m extremely faithful that the third one will be a EPIC conclusion at the levels of LOTR: The Return of the King.

@Eric carter, I was going to watch Across the Spider-verse with my brother once our final semester exams were over, but it got banned from being released in the region I'm living in, because of a certain controversial scene that could have been edited out for international releases, but NOPE!!!

Like you I didn’t love into the spider verse I liked it alot especially it’s sound track and animation but it could be for me cause of the endgame hype as time goes by I appreciate it more and more to a point across the spider verse become my most anticipated movie and is so far my number 1 for this year.
I feel the art and animation style should have been mentioned. Across whoops into in that department. We thought it could not get better and it did. So that in my opinion should have been mentioned.
Both of these movies are downright masterpieces, and I am SO excited to see how this ends when we go Beyond The Spiderverse.

6:04 Actually, there’s a reason to why he has fangs, in his origin story. It’s explain that he was a scientist, who mixed his DNA with a spider that gave him abilities, such as fangs and claws, all of the spire aspects except spider sense. So he’s half human half spider.
I have a feeling him injecting the juice on his shoulder seems like a way to calm his animalistic side or lessen his senses since he has such great senses that he needs glasses to protect them from the daylight

I don't think everyone else at Netflix is a hack.
But I do think that the Duffer Brothers have definitely dropped the ball with the writing in Season 4.
I don't like the characters as much as I did before, Will got on my nerves, so did Max and Mike.
And the show just felt like a mess and had WAY TOO MANY characters.

the reason why spiderman 2099 is sort of vampire like is because he got the equivalent of the toby maguire bite. he has more spider like abilities then the rest. he could actully preduse his own webs but they changed that, he has sharp claws instead of tiny hairs on his pomes, and he has fangs to drain the blood out of people. just some context behind miguel
no spiderman 2099 wasnt bitten by a spider. he uses a serum for his powers

I’ve never seen smile, but I hear the ending people think undermines the message of the movie, and gives no hope and is a downer. There’s nothing wrong with dark endings for horror movies, but Smile people say had a theme of trying to never give nor lose hope. But yes, the ending I hear was very controversial.

Spiderman 2099 won’t be a villian just an antagonist and I think he will realize he’s wrong and work with Miles to stop Spot since he realizes Miles is the key to stopping him(Spots obsession w Miles)

Both are really damn good movies. However until the third movie comes out and makes it worth sitting. I hate cliffhangers so Into the Spider-Verse has a slight edge here. To me personally which one was the better movie.

Here’s a fun question: how would you rank the three big comic book movies of 2018 (those being Infinity War, Into the Spiderverse and Aquaman)?
That's a very good question. I would say Infinity War, Aquaman and then Into the Spider-Verse.
I really did enjoy the world building of Aquaman so much, and that was an experience I didn't get since the first Avatar.
How would you rank them?
@@EricCarter12 from best to worst (or least best) I would honestly rank it Aquaman, Into the Spiderverse, Infinity War. As a film itself I really don’t think Aquaman is as well written (or honestly as well acted) as the other two movies. However, Aquaman is my favorite comic book character after Hal Jordan so to see him done justice on the big screen was such a rewarding sight. The movie is probably my favorite DC movie for giving me such an emotional reaction to it. That’s why I love it more than the other two films (and I already love Spiderverse and Infinity War).
Into the Spiderverse is already a visually stunning movie and I love the world building and characters but it did something not many comic book movies have done to me. It made me actually go and read the comics that some of the characters are from like Spider-Gwen and Noir. I already love the movie but the characters are honestly so much fun and it’s still the best Spider-Man movie in my opinion.
I still love Infinity War so much but I honestly just prefer the other two films at the end of the day.

7:18 can we all agree that the parents Spider-Man Across the Spider Verse are probably better any of the Disney parents like for example I don't know how to explain the parenting element of movies like Coco or The Little Mermaid or Luca but I think Sony, Chris Miller and Phil Lord did a way better job with the parenting elements than Disney did with the parents of any Disney movie.

As for the season I enjoyed it. I felt it was more adventurous than the others, going to more bizarre locations and not just focusing on the kids and instead on other characters like Kit Snicket.
Something that confused me in the final episode is that when Lemony meets his niece Beatrice, the first question he asks isn't, "Where's Kit?"
I meant, she was his sister!
Also please explain to me why characters like Kit, Olivia (the librarian), Jacques Snicket, Larry and even Doctor Montgomery had to die, but MR POE MIGHT HAVE LIVED!?
Also, I agreed with you on the ending. I felt the whole hippy thing came out of nowhere. If they wanted to make it special they should have made it two hours long. I know it is based off a book series but S3 honestly departed so much from it it felt like a different thing entirely (for example, in the books the Freaks actually survived until the fire at the hotel). So I wrote my own ending written as though by Lemony Snicket (it would obviously be visual in the show), which is probably still rubbish:
It's been years since the fire at the Hotel Denouement. Years since I stopped looking for the Baudelaire orphans after a long search that ending in vain. Today I seem to be the only active member of V.F.D left. Rumours pop up every once and a while. One person says they spotted a familiar Carmelita Spats sneaking around. Another claims they say the body of Jerome Squalor carried away. All silly rumours with no substance to them...
But maybe, just maybe, when you look at the post, it won't be someone sending a letter swearing vengeance...instead a letter, offering the chance to visit some long lost friends.

I’m excited, at least for right now, for Sony’s R rated Kraven movie. I’m going to lower my expectations when I go see it in theaters October 5. But I guess the R rating is a bonus! 🤞it’ll be decent! Sony’s unpredictable with quality. Hopefully, Morbius bombing two times in a row has taught them lessons.
