Haha, exactly! Paganini could probably shred through the hardest pieces ever written, but even he would struggle to dodge debt collectors. You can just picture him playing an intense solo, with Lethe’s epic violin music blaring in the background,he's like “I’ve made a deal with the devil, but these debt collectors? Way scarier.” Good one!

Mr Abbas will one day perfect the paddy-ba for a wee bit of ceilidh dancing, perhaps, and "Gardyloo!", watch out for those narrow alleys.
I hope that you guys get some relaxing time at the free museums and galleries, and the Botanic Gardens.
Maybe we'll get Alana and Abbas artisan cheesemakers in Malaysia one day. 😊

Oh, a wee note about marshmallows in hot choc. Since, you weren't aware about it, that's OK, but for next time, be wary coz it may contain non-halal gelatine.

Byk nama tempat di England & Scotland ni mmg tulis lain bunyi lain so bila jumpa perkataan spt ni mmg kena hafal. Byk lg contoh spt Leicester Lester, Tottenham Totnem, Norwich Norich & Worcestershire Wusteshe sekadar nak bagi beberapa contoh.

Edinburgh brings back so many memories for me personally and us as a family. It is also one of my favourite city in the world, so do my wife. The place where I spent 4 years did my PhD, proposed and met my wife, the rest is a history. Yes, it is a windy city and can be very chilly even during summer time due to North Sea. Apart from Edinburgh..I do love Scottish Highlands and Lochs, and we spent so many times driving up north to Scotland after we moved down South in England, camping and hiking. Scotland is such a bonnie (beautiful) country and Scottish people are one the most friendly people you could possibly meet.. Haste ye back!

Drove 🚗 to edinburgh twice from liverpool! Both times drove through the alternative scenic route when approaching the city. Enjoyed the morning farmer's market at the foot of the hill, where I was introduced to my favorite scottish tablet 😋
But I got a few whittard's in the beautiful tin cans to bring back to malaysia, from cheshire oaks designer outlet which is only half an hour's drive from liverpool! 👍❤️

Been to Edinburgh in December 1980 as part of our Scotland tour during our winter vacation. I was then a 20 years old student in England at Aston University Birmingham doing Civil Engineering. Those days we had plenty of Malaysian students in Edinburgh University doing mostly engineering related courses. Love the city and the friendly people of Edinburgh.

Had a chance to visit Edinburgh in 2014. Came to visit my sister's graduation at Strathlcyde Glasgow and also made a round trip for a day of Scotland, from Glasgow, to Loch Lomond, up north to Iverness, then to Aberdeen at the east side, the down south to Edinburgh. Scotland was simply a sight to behold !

In the silence that enveloped the house, its walls seemed to hold untold stories. Every corner carried the shadows of quiet, as if waiting for a fugitive to open the door to meanings buried within. Alina walked slowly, each step on the black marble floor reflecting the unease she had long kept hidden.
The house stood as a testament to meticulous design, a sanctuary of understated luxury. Its expansive glass walls, seamlessly merging the interior with the verdant exterior, invited natural light to flood the space, creating a luminous ambiance. The carefully curated furnishings, each a masterpiece of craftsmanship, exuded sophistication without ostentation. Light and shadow played across the space, adding depth and dimension.
The glass walls were not merely functional; they were art. Extending from floor to ceiling, they offered unobstructed views of lush gardens and a sparkling pool. Framed by sleek, minimalist metal, they provided a sense of both openness and enclosure. The reflections of the landscape on the glass made the house seem to dissolve into the natural environment.
Inside, a harmonious balance of light and dark was maintained, with neutral tones of walls and furnishings acting as a canvas for the vibrant exterior colors. The living area featured a sprawling, low-profile sofa in rich charcoal-gray, flanked by two sleek armchairs. A large black marble coffee table served as the focal point.
The dining area was marked by a minimalist table of white marble surrounded by elegant chairs with slender metal frames. A large, abstract painting hung above the dining table, not merely placed behind it, as if presiding over the space with quiet authority. The choice to hang it above rather than behind was deliberate, drawing the eye upward, elevating the room’s atmosphere. Its presence was more than just decorative; it framed the entire dining area, creating a sense of grandeur that made the table below seem like a centerpiece in an art gallery rather than a mere spot for meals.
The kitchen, a marvel of modern design, was equipped with sleek cabinetry and state-of-the-art appliances. The white marble island served as both a workspace and a casual dining counter, with a shimmering mosaic backsplash adding visual interest. Despite its impressive features, the kitchen was rarely used for cooking, a pristine expanse more often admired than utilized.
Curiously, the house bore no trace of personal photographs or mementos of Mikael and Alina. The walls, otherwise adorned with abstract art and minimalist décor, remained devoid of any images capturing their shared moments. This absence created a subtle, deliberate distance, hinting at the complexities of their relationship that were kept unspoken yet profoundly evident in the spaces they inhabited.
The house was an embodiment of Mikael’s penchant for minimalist yet intricate design, combined with Alina’s love for art. Perhaps, it was the only true concordance manifest in their relationship, a reflection of their separate yet intertwined worlds. In this carefully crafted setting, the absence of personal artifacts and the deliberate use of space spoke volumes about the delicate balance between their individual tastes and the silent, unspoken understanding that held them together.
More than just a structure, the house symbolized the restrictions forced upon her, reflecting rigid rules much like her frozen relationship. Each space revealed a chapter of her struggle: the silent kitchen portrayed conversations that never happened, and the empty bedroom served as a metaphor for intimacy that was never truly felt. Most haunting of all was the large window in the living room, where Alina often stood, gazing out towards the vast, open sea-the only place where she felt freedom was real, yet still far from reach.
The window seemed to mark the boundary between two worlds: one confined within the house, representing limitations, and the other outside, full of promises of freedom, yet still blocked by unseen barriers. Alina often wondered if freedom was merely a dream that would always remain beyond her grasp, like the restless sea, forever churning but never touched.
Yet, deep down, Alina knew the house was just part of herself that needed to be conquered. Every locked door, every sturdy wall, was a boundary to be torn down, not with force, but with courage and perseverance. This house, though full of restraints and darkness, was also a place to discover strength. In every corner, there was space for her to uncover the identity that had long been hidden.
As the night grew late and the sound of waves continued to echo outside, Alina stood in front of that large window once again. This time, she didn’t just gaze out at the unreachable sea, but also at her own reflection in the glass-a woman who had spent years searching for the space to be herself. In that house, with all its injustices and limitations, Alina found a place to begin her journey toward freedom

Gray Man's joke about preferring death over debt could definitely apply to Paganini. I mean, Paganini might have been a master of the violin, but I doubt even his devilish talents could outplay a pile of overdue bills. Imagine him saying, 'I can conquer any musical challenge, but these debt collectors? They’re the real virtuosos of annoyance.'

Mikael’s remark about "playing with fire" had plunged her into a sea of uncertainty and fear. The blood drained from Alina's face. How could he know? The phrase echoed in her mind, too close to the mantra she had been whispering to herself in the dark, too accurate to be a coincidence. Fear gripped her, cold and unrelenting. She could barely breathe as she met his gaze, struggling to keep her composure.
Alina stared at Mikael with her mouth tightly closed, while the clinking of forks and knives on the dining table sounded like the ticking of a clock in the suffocating silence. The atmosphere between them was suffocating, thick with unspoken tension that threatened to choke her. Alina dismissed it at first, telling herself that it was just her guilty conscience playing tricks on her. But she couldn’t ignore the nagging feeling that something was terribly wrong. Her brow furrowed, and her eyes were fixed on Mikael's piercing gaze. Her heart raced, and she felt a chill down her spine.
Each time Mikael looked at her with eyes that seemed to see deep into her soul, Alina felt like a puppet whose strings were being pulled by an invisible hand. She knew Mikael was a wise and perceptive man. Throughout their marriage, he had shown an uncanny ability to understand and judge others with a disconcerting clarity. But what had happened that night felt far beyond his usual skills. In the stifling silence after Mikael’s words, Alina tried to find answers in her mind.
Did Mikael really know about her dark affair? Did he sense another person in her life? Every time Alina recalled her secret meetings with her lover, the guilt and fear trembled within her heart. Every stolen glance and cherished touch now felt like betrayal. She remembered every detail that might reveal the extent of her secrecy. Had she been too cautious? Was she trapped in a game that was too dangerous? As she reflected on the risky encounters and suspicious moments, she began to realize how close she was to real danger.
Mikael rose slowly from his chair, the sound of it scraping against the floor echoing ominously in the quiet dining room. His movements were deliberate, almost graceful, as he approached Alina. The dim light cast long shadows across his face, making his expression seem inscrutable and menacing.
He stopped just inches from her, and for a moment, the intensity of his gaze was all that existed. Alina's breath caught in her throat as Mikael's hand reached out, his fingers brushing lightly against her cheek. The touch was strangely tender, a chilling contrast to the fear clawing at her insides. His fingertips lingered, tracing a path along her jawline, as though memorizing the contours of her face.
"You’ve been so careful, Alina," he murmured, his voice smooth and velvety, a dangerous whisper in the stillness. "But no matter how well you hide, the truth always finds its way out."
His touch, once gentle, suddenly tightened. The warmth of his hand turned cold and unyielding as he gripped her neck with an iron resolve. Alina’s eyes widened in horror, and she gasped for air, her hands instinctively clawing at his to break free. Her vision blurred as the pressure on her throat increased, squeezing the very life out of her.
Mikael’s face was close enough for her to see the cold determination in his eyes. There was no hint of hesitation, only a chilling calmness that made her skin crawl. His grip was merciless, his expression a mask of calculated resolve as he held her there, his words a low, menacing growl.
"You see, Alina," he said, his voice a dark promise, "playing with fire always has consequences. And you, my dear, have ignited a blaze that now consumes you."
As the room grew darker, the edges of her vision fading to black, Alina’s last coherent thought was a desperate plea for escape-a final cry lost in the suffocating silence of Mikael’s unrelenting grasp.
Alina jolted awake, her heart pounding in her chest like a drumbeat of panic. The remnants of the nightmare clung to her like a heavy fog, leaving her gasping for breath as if she had just surfaced from a suffocating abyss. She sat up in bed, her disheveled hair falling in chaotic waves around her face. The room, bathed in the pale, fragile light of dawn, felt eerily calm compared to the terror of her dream.
She looked around, her eyes darting across the familiar surroundings of her bedroom-the soft, muted colors of the walls, the neat stack of books on the nightstand, the gentle hum of the air conditioner. Everything was in its place, untroubled by the nightmare that had so violently disrupted her sleep.
Alina’s hand flew to her throat, fingers brushing against her skin where Mikael’s grip had seemed so real. The sensation was still there-a lingering pressure that defied the waking reality. She shivered, the echoes of the dream whispering through her mind like a ghostly refrain.
Sinking back into her pillows, she tried to steady her breathing, each inhale and exhale a deliberate attempt to rid herself of the oppressive fear that had gripped her. The dream had felt so vivid, so tangible, that for a moment, she had been convinced it was more than a mere figment of her imagination.
She squeezed her eyes shut, willing herself to forget the suffocating embrace of the nightmare. The warmth of the sun’s early light began to seep through the curtains, slowly dissolving the shadows of her fear. Alina reached for the bedside lamp, its soft glow providing a reassuring contrast to the darkness she had just escaped.
As her heartbeat began to slow, she focused on the reality of her surroundings. The room was safe, the dream had been just that-a dream. But the lingering unease made her wonder if there was a deeper meaning behind the unsettling vision.
With a deep breath, she pushed the covers aside and swung her legs over the edge of the bed, the coolness of the floor grounding her in the present. She needed to start her day, to shake off the remnants of the nightmare and find a way to make sense of it. The sun, now fully risen, promised a new beginning, even if the echoes of the night still lingered in her mind.
Alina stood, her movements deliberate and steady, as she prepared to face the day with a resolve born from the confrontation with her own fears. The nightmare might have been a shadow of her inner turmoil, but she would not let it define her. She would face whatever challenges lay ahead, with the strength to confront the fears that lingered in the darkest corners of her mind because the dangerous thrill and the temptation was like a drug, intoxicating and too strong to resist.
    "The Reckoning"
    Synopsis:
Mikael, enraged by Alina’s affair with a secret lover, devises a complex revenge plan. He recruits Keira, a professional actress, to create a false identity and seduce the lover, causing tension and confusion in their relationship. Through gaslighting, spreading false rumors, and social isolation, and Mikael's orchestrated murder case, Mikael manipulates the lover, making him doubt his own sanity.
As Alina and the lover's relationship starts to crumble under the strain created by Mikael, Mikael pretends to win Alina back by giving her the attention and affection she had always desired.
With the lover increasingly stressed and eventually committed to a mental health facility due to Mikael’s orchestrated murder case, Mikael’s plan reaches its goal. Although the lover claims he is not insane, the doubts sown by Mikael’s plan only reinforce the situation.
Having regained Alina’s trust, Mikael begins his final move. He starts to destroy Alina by creating conflicts and suspicions in their relationship. Mikael manipulates Alina by leaking her personal secrets and orchestrating situations that make her appear unstable and unreliable. Ultimately, Alina finds herself in a situation where she loses her reputation and valuable relationships, leaving her in despair and loneliness.
Mikael’s meticulously crafted revenge plan concludes with complete success, but with devastating consequences for everyone involved.

Mikael had entered the house calmly, his steps touching the smooth floor without any sound. The state of the house was as usual-an oasis of quiet tranquility. Yet, as he moved through the space, something shifted, something unseen but felt, as if his very presence had begun to disturb the delicate balance of silence. Mikael’s eyes scanned the room, he felt as if he were not just in the house but intruding into an invisible realm-invading the space of Alina’s mind, which was daydreaming about a freedom that was always obstructed. Her thoughts, often wrapped in layers of silence, were now exposed to him, like fragile pages of an unwritten story.
Her thoughts, often wrapped in layers of silence, were now exposed to him, like fragile pages of an unwritten story. He could sense the weight of her daydreams, the longing for a life beyond the confines of this house, and yet, the constant pull of unseen chains that kept her bound.
In her mind, Alina imagined a world far removed from this quiet prison. She saw herself walking along open fields, where the wind whispered songs of liberation, where her voice could rise and echo without restraint. She dreamed of breaking free from the invisible walls that surrounded her, daring to reach for the unknown. Yet, in every vision, there was always something-an unseen force-pulling her back, leaving her yearning and incomplete.
Mikael could almost feel the texture of her struggle, the way she sculpted her thoughts into dreams but never quite managed to release them. His presence, though silent, now stood as a stark reminder of the boundaries that kept her trapped. In her mind, he was part of the puzzle-an ever-present . that kept her tethered to the reality she sought to escape.
As he moved deeper into the house, Mikael knew he was not just crossing physical spaces but also delving into the inner landscapes of Alina’s thoughts, disrupting the fragile illusions she had created. Every step he took was like a ripple, disturbing the waters of her dreams, and yet, he remained silent, watching as her mind flickered between hope and despair.
He looked towards the sofa in the living room, where Alina had been sitting relaxed, absorbed in a comfort that almost defied her typical appearance. Alina appeared deeply immersed in her own world, her hair flowing softly behind the sofa and her eyes half-closed, as if blending with the soft light filtering through the window. Mikael observing, a subtle curve of a smile touching his lips. Gently, he had moved closer, only to embrace the atmosphere of calm that prevailed. Slowly, he straightened up, waiting a few moments before speaking, his voice soft yet full of meaning."Alina," he had said, his voice steady, as if resonating from afar. "Have you been thinking about any changes to our budget this month?"The question had been asked without any tone of urgency, just a form of concern that seemed no more than a light query. Mikael had stood casually, his gaze probing towards Alina, as if testing something unspoken, while his presence filled the space previously occupied only by silence. He had casually unbuttoned the cuff of his shirt, then folded it neatly, as if performing a routine he was accustomed to. This simple gesture, carried out with practiced precision, had seemed almost ritualistic, adding a layer of calm control to his already composed demeanor.
Alina, awakened from her reverie, had slowly opened her eyes. She had lifted her gaze to Mikael, looking at him with a mix of cynicism and humor. One corner of her lips had lifted in a smile full of meaning. She realized that Mikael’s question was not merely about money; it was about space and power, about boundaries and freedoms often hidden behind the facade of tranquility. Alina had raised her gaze to Mikael, her eyes glimmering with concern and courage."Ah, our budget," she had said, her voice gentle yet piercing with a tone of scrutiny. "Are you talking about numbers that measure more than just financial balance? Perhaps you’re referring to the ‘shares’ in unseen power-such as the right to pursue personal dreams often neglected for the sake of conventional stability."Alina had taken a sip of her drink, her eyes sparkling with light expressing her concern and courage. "Sometimes, I feel we need to rethink our definition of ‘budget,’ maybe not just in financial terms but also in terms of freedom and choice. Perhaps we should consider allocating a bit of ‘budget’ for my space in this world, or is that also violating some unspoken ‘rules’?" Alina had given a wider smile, expressing pleasure in the sharp and subtle, as if dancing along the line between desire and reality, questioning the planned and unspoken ways within their relationship.
Mikael had been silent for a moment, his eyes never leaving Alina, capturing every note of cynicism and humor woven into her reply. He had moved a little closer, letting the silence speak first before his words had emerged smoothly, as if chosen with careful consideration."You know," he had said, his tone calm and elegant, "freedom is not merely something that can be measured by the space or time we allocate. It is deeper than that. True freedom-beyond numbers, beyond budgets-is about how we define our lives, how we choose to navigate this reality without being burdened by expectations we have created ourselves."Mikael had paused, observing her reaction. "Sometimes, we forget that freedom is not just about having more space but about understanding who we are within the space we have. We choose to rely on stability not because we fear change, but because we know that, in stability, there is an invisible form of power-the power to determine our lives, without having to run from place to place, searching for something that might already be right in front of us." Mikael had then walked slowly towards the bedroom, his steps calm and unhurried. As he moved, he added, "I am surprised by you, Alina. What more freedom do you need when you have almost everything you want, without having to struggle?" His voice had been slightly cynical, yet full of deeper meaning, as if challenging the reality Alina had just revealed. "And I have offered you something that is a dream for many." Mikael had added, his voice slightly subdued.
Alina had still been able to hear him, struck as if touched by the ‘vagueness’ of Mikael’s words, interwoven with the subtlety of his intended meanings. His tone, though measured and calm, had an underlying edge that hinted at deeper, unspoken truths about their relationship. The conversation had revealed more than just financial matters; it had touched upon the fundamental issues of freedom, power, and personal space within their lives.
Mikael’s words, though seemingly simple and calm, had carried a profound implication about the nature of their relationship-how it balanced between stability and control, and the unspoken expectations that came with it. The delicate interplay of their dialogue had highlighted the invisible boundaries that confined Alina and the subtle control Mikael exerted over their lives. The conversation, though not loud or dramatic, had laid bare the underlying tensions and conflicts, reflecting the deeper struggles Alina faced within the confines of their seemingly serene life.

“It’s strange how this video triggered something in my mind, as if it touched a forgotten layer of my subconscious. For some reason, I now feel compelled to write a story rooted in psychological depths I’ve never explored before. It feels like I’m discovering a new part of myself-as if I’m beginning a journey as a true writer.”
She always repeated it like a mantra, 'playing with fire will get you burned.' But the mantra felt so distant, so abstract, it was almost meaningless. Until the moment when the fire started licking her fingertips, burning slowly but surely. Every time the shadow of another man crossed her mind, her heart pounded wildly. The dangerous thrill was like a drug, intoxicating.
She knew it was wrong, so very wrong. Yet, the temptation was too strong to resist. She was like a moth drawn to the flame, unaware of the danger lurking behind its beauty. The deeper she got trapped in this dangerous game, the more fear tightened its grip on her heart.
Every time she met with her secret lover, she felt like she was walking on a fragile tightrope. One small misstep, and everything could come crashing down. She began to see the shadow of fear in the mirror every time she looked into her own eyes. Eyes that once seemed to speak and shine now appeared dim, filled with anxiety and regret.
She tried to convince herself that everything would be alright, but the small voice inside her kept whispering, 'playing with fire will get you burned.' That’s what Alina felt right now.
Her husband, Mikael, was not a man easily deceived. His sharp eyes were always watching, like an eagle waiting for its prey. Alina often felt nervous in his presence, anxious that he might know the dark secret she had been hiding. Yet Mikael rarely showed any emotion. He was calm, almost too calm, as if he knew something Alina didn’t.
One night, as they were having dinner together in the quiet dining room, Mikael looked at her with an unreadable expression. Without raising his voice, he set down his fork and said with a chillingly sarcastic tone, "Be careful, Alina. Sometimes, the fire that dances at your fingertips can burn down the whole house. And you know, my dear, I don't like my house to burn."
Those words pierced Alina's heart like a sharp blade. She knew then that Mikael wasn’t just talking about their house. He was talking about something much bigger, something Alina was too afraid to confront. Mikael’s sinister remark was like a warning-a sign that this dangerous game wouldn’t end well, and that perhaps he knew far more than she realized.

Mikael stood by the window of his office, located on the top floor of a skyscraper in the heart of the city. From his vantage point, he could see the city lights shimmering as raindrops trickled down the glass. Outside, the rain fell slowly, as if keeping pace with the calm that enveloped his life. However, behind that calm lay a hidden power-one that had made Mikael one of the most influential men in the financial world.
His handsome and mysterious appearance captivated anyone who met him. His face was stern, with dark eyes that seemed to hold a thousand secrets. His black hair was neatly combed, but a few strands fell over his forehead, hinting at the imperfections he tried to hide. Mikael was not a man of many words, but when he spoke, each word seemed meticulously planned, full of meaning, and difficult to decipher.
His career began like any ordinary young man entering the financial world-as an analyst. However, Mikael's extraordinary talent for reading and predicting market trends quickly made him known among the major players. In a world full of uncertainty and risk, Mikael appeared to always be a few steps ahead. His ability to analyze global macroeconomics and forecast market shifts set him apart from other analysts.
Within a few years, Mikael started building his own financial empire. He established Aetheris Capital, a hedge fund that rapidly grew under his leadership. The name Aetheris Capital was chosen with great significance, reflecting Mikael's ability to "navigate the unseen" and "master the unpredictable." This hedge fund operated differently from others, using unconventional but highly effective strategies.
Aetheris Capital focused on a multilateration strategy, investing in various sectors and geographies while considering global economic movements. Mikael was also known for his daring use of targeted short selling, capitalizing on weaknesses in certain companies to make profits, even during market downturns. However, Mikael's greatest advantage was his meticulous risk management, using leverage wisely to maximize returns without taking excessive risks.
Mikael's influence in the financial world was not only based on his accurate investment decisions but also on his ability to manipulate market psychology. In boardrooms filled with corporate and investment professionals, Mikael was rarely the loudest voice, but whenever he spoke, everyone in the room fell silent and listened. His calm charisma and organized communication made people trust him completely. He controlled the room without needing to raise his voice.
Yet, Mikael's life was not just about numbers and charts. Behind the grandeur of his career, there was a darkness that constantly haunted his thoughts. In his hand, he clutched a small ring-the only heirloom still connecting him to a past he tried to forget. Despite his extraordinary success, there was something in his life that felt empty, as if a part of him had been lost with the passage of time.
To the outside world, Mikael was seen as a successful figure-a financial genius with significant power in shaping global market trends. But within himself, he was still searching for something deeper, something that could not be bought with money or power. Every day, he woke up feeling the need to do more than just generate wealth. There was an indescribable urge within him-something that made him feel disconnected from the life that was supposed to be his.
As Mikael stood before his office window, gazing out at the dark and wet city, he sighed deeply. The rain grew heavier, streaming down the glass like feelings and memories he tried to let go. His life in the financial world had made him powerful, but within him still existed a profound emptiness, as if something greater awaited him out there-something that could not be found in financial charts or market analysis.
In the world of Aetheris Capital, Mikael was a legend. But in his personal world, he was just a man still searching for the true meaning behind all the success and wealth he had achieved.
Mikhail sat in the spacious conference room, surrounded by a group of elite investors from around the world. In front of them, a large screen displayed complex market charts, fluctuating stock graphs, and lengthy financial reports. The discussion about strategic investments in a U.S. tech giant had just begun, and the atmosphere in the room was tense-all eyes focused on the data displayed on the screen. However, amidst the silence, Mikhail appeared calm. His face showed no signs of worry or concern; instead, his subtle smile added a touch of irony to the mood.
A prominent investor, Mr. Harrington, led the discussion. "This company is a rising star. Their stock value has increased by over 30% in the past six months. Based on our analysis, this is an opportunity not to be missed." He pressed the remote control, and the company's stock chart appeared. All eyes refocused on the data on the screen.
Mikhail observed carefully. He glanced at the chart before turning to the other investors, still wearing the same smile.
"Mr. Mikhail," Mr. Harrington said, his voice firm yet slightly cautious, "we're confident in this proposal, but I hear you might have a different opinion?"
Everyone in the room looked at Mikhail, waiting for his response. Mikhail crossed his legs and leaned slightly forward.
"What you're seeing here is a reflection of the surface," he said, pointing to the chart displaying the company's stock increase. "The 30% rise is indeed intriguing, but the issue is not with what you see. It's with what you don't see."
Harrington was taken aback. "What do you mean?"
Mikhail took the remote and pressed a button. The chart on the screen suddenly changed, displaying a deeper analysis of the company-figures that had never been touched by anyone before. A cash flow stream appeared on the screen, showing a massive capital outflow over the past two months, which contradicted the company's outward performance.
"This company may look healthy on the outside," Mikhail explained, his tone full of confidence. "But look at these numbers. The company's net cash flow shows a consistent outflow of capital. Large funds have started to exit, and that's not a coincidence. They know something we don't."
Everyone in the room started to look uneasy. Mikhail stood up and walked slowly to the screen. He looked at the investors one by one.
"If you examine their financial reports closely, you'll realize that this stock increase comes from financial manipulation. They're using leverage aggressively, buying back shares to boost the price-all to attract investors like you." He paused, letting his words sink in.
"And look here," Mikhail switched to a debt account report. "They are in significant debt. These debts are hidden in their overseas subsidiaries, not included in the main financial reports. In three months, when these debts need to be repaid, you’ll see this stock fall faster than you think."
Another investor, Mr. Lawson, interjected with a doubtful tone. "How do you know all this? We’ve done years of research on this company."
Mikhail smiled again, this time more clearly. "My knowledge doesn't just come from chart analysis or annual reports. I read all that, but I also see what others overlook. I spoke with former financial officers of this company, I examined their overseas transactions, and I dug as deep as I could. That’s our advantage-knowing more than what’s shown to us."
Mr. Harrington looked stunned but could not deny Mikhail’s insights. His face darkened as he realized they were on the verge of falling into a cunning market manipulation. "So, what do you suggest, Mikhail?"
Mikhail pressed another button, displaying another company on the screen. "This. We should shift our investment to this emerging company. They may not be the biggest now, but they have a solid financial foundation and a stable long-term strategy. They are not heavily indebted, and their market is growing rapidly in the automation technology sector."
He turned to them, his eyes gleaming with confidence. "This is the future. What we learned from the previous company is an illusion of success. We’re not here to play with unpredictable risks. We’re here to control the future."
The entire room fell silent. Slowly, the heads around the table began to nod, acknowledging Mikhail’s brilliance in reading the hidden game behind the numbers.
Mr. Lawson finally spoke up, “Alright, Mikhail. We’ll follow your recommendation.”
Mikhail returned to his seat, his face calm. He knew they would listen. He always knew.

Alina stood by the window, her gaze lost in the early morning light that filtered through the curtains. The remnants of her dream had faded, but a lingering, unsettling feeling clung to her. She tried to shake it off, but the allure of the thrill she had felt in the nightmare was undeniable. The dangerous excitement of that visceral fear was like a powerful drug-intoxicating, seductive, and impossible to ignore.Even now, she could almost taste the forbidden edge of that perilous excitement, the way it had gripped her with such an intense, almost primal force. The temptation was irresistible, a siren call to embrace the danger that had once seemed so remote and distant. In the cold light of day, it was clear that the thrill had woven itself into the fabric of her desires, and resisting it felt almost like a betrayal of her own cravings.
The darkness in Alina’s mind was a quiet, insidious thing, slowly spreading like ink bleeding into water, staining her thoughts with an undeniable hunger. It began innocently enough, a fleeting glance, a stolen touch, but soon it grew into something far more potent-a secret she nurtured in the dark, far away from Mikael’s watchful eyes. It was in those moments, alone with her thoughts, that the weight of her desires pressed in on her, suffocating yet exhilarating. The affair had become more than just an indulgence; it was a lifeline, a way to escape the suffocating predictability of her life with Mikael. With him, everything was measured, controlled-expected. But with the other man, there was chaos, unpredictability, and the dangerous rush of knowing she was dancing on the edge of something forbidden. It was intoxicating, the way her pulse quickened at the mere thought of him, how every encounter left her craving more. In the depths of her mind, Alina knew she was spiraling. The pleasure she felt in those stolen moments wasn’t just physical-it was a thrill that gripped her soul, shaking loose the dullness of her everyday life. She craved the secrecy, the lies, the danger of it all. Each time she met him, she told herself it would be the last, that she could walk away, but the temptation was too strong. The more she indulged, the deeper she sank into the darkness, drawn to it like a moth to a flame, knowing it would consume her eventually. There was a twisted satisfaction in the deception, in the way she could move between worlds-Mikael’s steady, controlled existence and the wild, intoxicating abandon she found in her lover’s arms. It was a dangerous game, and part of her knew that she was losing herself, but in that loss, she found a freedom she had never known before. The guilt was there, lurking in the shadows of her mind, but it was dulled by the sharp edge of desire, swallowed by the need that had grown too fierce to resist. In the quiet moments, when the thrill faded and the world returned to its usual rhythm, Alina could feel the weight of her choices pressing down on her, heavy and suffocating. But the darkness was there, too, whispering sweet promises of escape, and she couldn’t help but listen.
Alina found herself drifting further into that darkness, her mind caught in the intoxicating pull of the double life she now led. The thrill had become a constant hum beneath the surface, a sharp, tantalizing pulse that never quite left her, even when she was with Mikael. The mundanity of their shared life-the quiet dinners, the long silences-felt like a distant echo compared to the chaotic, raw energy of her time with the other man. It was as though a door had opened inside her, one she hadn’t known existed, and now, she couldn’t close it, even if she wanted to. She would lie in bed at night, Mikael’s steady breathing beside her, and her thoughts would wander to him-the one who had unlocked this side of her. The way his touch lingered on her skin long after they’d parted, the way his eyes bore into her as though he could see every dark, twisted desire she harbored. She knew she was playing with fire, that this game would eventually burn her to ash, but the danger was part of the allure. There was a deep, restless hunger in her now, one that only seemed to grow with every encounter. She had become addicted to the secrecy, to the stolen glances and hurried touches. The lies came easier now, rolling off her tongue like a practiced art. She had learned to smile through the guilt, to hide the tremor of excitement that surged through her when she thought of him. But in the quiet recesses of her mind, there was something else-a darker, more unsettling feeling. It was the creeping sense that she was losing herself, that the lines between who she was with Mikael and who she became with her lover were blurring beyond recognition. The thrill that had once been so sharp, so exhilarating, now carried a weight, a heaviness that pressed down on her in the still moments, when she was left alone with her thoughts. She would tell herself she could stop. That she had control. But deep down, Alina knew the truth: she was no longer in control of anything. The affair had taken on a life of its own, spiraling into something darker, more consuming than she had ever imagined. It was no longer about the man or the physical pleasure-it was about the escape, the freedom from the life she felt trapped in. And yet, with each secret meeting, the walls were closing in. The lies were starting to fray, the guilt beginning to claw at her with sharper talons. But even as the tension tightened around her, Alina couldn’t stop. The darkness had become a part of her, and the dangerous thrill was too deep in her veins to simply walk away.Every time she met him, every time they parted, she knew she was teetering closer to the edge. And in some twisted way, the idea of falling into that abyss, of letting the darkness consume her entirely, didn’t frighten her. It thrilled her.

Chapter Two: Alina's Feminist Awakening Amidst Luthfi's Influence
Man, with his fragile sensibilities, often finds himself more wounded by insults than by the deep-seated animosity of others. It is a curious truth that minor slights-those seemingly insignificant affronts-can ignite conflicts far more fervently than the gravest of disagreements. In the grand theatre of human emotions, it is not the force of profound hatred but the sting of belittlement that strikes with the greatest impact. These small disturbances in the tapestry of relationships provoke a depth of tension and discord that outstrips the more substantial quarrels. For it is the subtle degradation, the insult that gnaws at one's pride, that reaches into the very core of one's being, stirring a tempest of reaction far exceeding that which mere hatred might elicit-hatred that often remains fleeting, a mere ripple on the surface of the soul.
The relationship between Alina and Mikael was not a dramatic saga filled with confrontations or disputes; it existed in silence, flowing calmly without major upheavals, yet never reaching a peak higher than what they had anticipated. It was more of an interaction woven in quiet, developing with tenderness and simplicity, rendering it devoid of grand disturbances. Yet beneath that calm surface lay a mastermind functioning like a cancer-Ego!-a destructive threat in silence. Like the hedonistic Gatsby hidden behind the glitter of success and wealth with a devastating obsession, this mastermind acted as a corrupting agent in secrecy. It seeped into every crevice, infecting and eroding the foundation of the relationship in a nearly imperceptible way, as if only you were waiting for the time to reveal its true effects. Within that deep tranquility, the mastermind-through its unperceived cunning-created subtle fractures that undermined everything that appeared perfect.
Although initially appearing harmless, the mastermind's actions formed an invisible web of influence, permeating the structure of the relationship like a microorganism rotting from within. With a serene and almost mystical wisdom, this mastermind directed Alina and Mikael's every step, not through force but with subtlety and sharpness that played on their feelings. The impact of its role, though hidden behind a veil of calm, was a slow degradation-a catastrophe that arrived without warning, leaving scars that might never fully heal.Alina had always viewed Mikael differently-with Mikael, everything was measured and controlled meticulously, as if written in an unalterable script. Every step Mikael took seemed like a scheduled rhythm, precise and flawless, and Alina had been aware of this since their first introduction. She knew that if there was something to question, it was not Mikael, but herself. Mikael, in reality, had never changed. He was the same man as before-calm, orderly, never yielding to wild emotions. And therein lay the tormenting question for Alina. For her, the stability offered by the relationship came at a cost that her heart could not bear; it felt cold, like two bodies moving in the same orbit but never touching. When that orbit aligned, an eclipse occurred that obscured the light between them, symbolizing a temporary darkness in what was once a balanced relationship. The dispute was like a shadow blocking the light, while both were trapped in the same space, approaching each other but slipping from understanding.
There was an unreachable chasm between their emotional needs, and Alina had long accepted this reality. For her, such things had become routine-and she had never, even for a moment, imagined that Mikael would change or be able to transcend his perpetually calm and controlled role. In the silence of her mind, Alina knew there was no hope for something more, and perhaps that was what made everything feel lonely but not entirely painful. It was comfortable, in a strange sense, like the sound of waves hitting the shore repeatedly without ever changing, repeating in an eternal emptiness.Yet, within this silence, there was a deeper resonance-a subtle echo reflecting the power imbalance rooted in the broader social structure. Alina, in the quietude of her heart seeping into her soul, realized that the stability offered by Mikael was not merely balance but a subtle restraint that constrained her freedom and rights.
Beneath Mikael’s calm facade lay a power that denied her creative freedom, limiting her space to grow. Mikael, with his cold and calculating wisdom, indirectly restrained Alina’s dreams and aspirations. He associated traditional roles with values of stability, gently but firmly asserting that domestic roles were most suitable for her. Every suggestion to pursue a career or personal aspirations, arising from her deep desires, was met with a tone that sapped her enthusiasm-as if rain was gradually falling, eroding the earth without leaving a noticeable effect. Mikael’s controlled schedule encompassed time and energy, leaving Alina only with remnants to chase her ambitions. Decisions made without Alina’s consent, though appearing as minor steps, were manifestations of a greater restraint. Within this unshakable social convention lay a reflection of deeper gender injustice-a suppression that etched fine lines into daily life, isolating women from their full potential. With every unmade step, with every missed choice, Alina faced an invisible yet solid wall, limiting her rights to self-expression and freedom. In the prolonged silence of night, amidst the constant crashing waves, there were tones speaking of struggle, suppression, and hope that never truly dies. Their cold relationship, with all its order and restraint, was not merely a form of balance but also a mirror to a larger battle for rights and justice. It depicted Alina’s struggle to break through unjust boundaries, seeking space to carve out her identity in a world that often constrained and obstructed. Beneath that calm surface lay a world full of profound conflicts, presenting a larger story of power, suppression, and aspiration within a frame marked by beauty and the harshness etched into every moment of life.
