He may be blind, but Nick Parker (Rutger Hauer) has a way with a sword. The Vietnam vet pays a visit to an old war buddy, Frank Deveraux (Terrance O'Quinn), only to discover that his friend is in deep trouble. Gangsters have killed Frank's wife (Meg Foster) and are holding him hostage in Reno, Nev. Making a narrow escape with Frank's young son (Brandon Call), Nick heads across the country to even the score. Needless to say, his opponents underestimate him -- and his sword skills.

I miss Rutger Hauer. One of those actors that made everything he was in a lot better. RIP
yeah i will always remember that tears in rain scene from blade runner
Truly.
All Miss Rutger! Best actor, best films...
He died? He was amazing in Blade Runner. Rip.
Yeah, Anthony Hopkins is great in this role.
Rutger Hauer’s death was and still is a huge huge loss to the silver screen.
I miss him.
I feel in love with Rutger in Lady Hawk.
One of the nicest gentleman I ever worked with. Couldn't get through a serious scene without him making me laugh. Miss you Rutger.
_"Are you blind?!"_
_"Yeah. What's your excuse?"_
Awesome.
Goes along great with, well well Mr blind man you positively incredible human being give a new meaning to the word handicapped
'Wise man has enough sense getting outta the rain' lol
i crack up every time he says thats
.🤔😑.
"Blind Fury" is an underrated film. Rutger Hauer was superb in convincingly portraying a blind swordfighter with a delightful comic edge. RIP, sir.
1:12 "I suggest aspirin for that headache. What headache? WHACK!" One of my favorite scenes.
John NY -Agreed! Lord rest his soul.
Frankly Frank ugh, bore off, dude, just bore off.
The only non Shintaro Katsu Zatoichi film to get the character's personality right.
Absolutely agree.
Absolutely agree
I remember this film from my youth!! what a great homage to the Japanese blind swordsmen tale, and one of Rutger Hauer's most memorable roles!! R.I.P. good SIR!!
I have never seen that movie :( - old blind Japanese man
Good movie from the 80s
@@michgingras they're called Zatoichi
@@stephenfurlong4230 so the other one, with Takeshi Kitano...is again another take...on the same 'blind samurai' theme?
@@dannieanonymous8083 yep. Zatoichi is a series (kinda like how james bond has been going on) about a blind swordsman and Zatoichi from 2003 was Beat Takeshis take on the chatacter. Blind Fury was Americas take.
RIP Rutger. This is one of my favorite movies.
Jorrie Wimmer never saw this but loved Hauer..RIP...and Terry O’Quinn!

Crazy his character in blade runner died in the same year in real life... creepy
Dutchman Rutger Hauer should have had an Oscar at least fot this brilliant movie. He was one of the best actors ever!!! May he rest in Peace.
He was brilliant in Bladerunner.
This has to be one of THEE most underrated action movies of all time! Rutger Hauer was amazing in this movie.
Well, one of the others must be Ladyhawke then.
@@lockwoan01 I’d agree with you on that one 👍🏼
Hes basically blind deadpool
Salute of the Jugger is his best work. ''' 100 stones. Three times.''
@@lockwoan01 And The Hitcher, though that was more thriller than straight up action.
Rutger Hauer. A guy who was really good at playing rogues and bad guys. RIP
_Hobo With A Shotgun_ is one of my favorites.
@@ruthlessdraculigula1051 He was also good in that fairytale-like Ladyhawke movie (1985).
The Hitcher was his best role. He’s mesmerising..
Roy always.
@@vasiliynkudryavtsev Flesh and Blood man, some of the best sword fights.
I'm from Florida so my favorite of is the Gator scene "LOL Nice Doggy" RIP Rutger Hauer
Great movie sooo underrated rest in peace rutger you made some great films but blind fury was my all time fav
"That has more holes then daddy's rubber"
"I didn't know daddy used rubbers"
The 80's were legendary.
Agreed, so many low profile superman even like Hulk, kind a sad todays movie is so overpowered
Rutger Hauer Was great in this films (if not all of them) but is so surprising is how well some of the bad guy were thought out and given depth and personally the brothers a good example.
You missed one of the best lines when he’s about to fight a roomful of dudes and the lights go out. One of the dudes is like “it’s dark in here” to which he coldly responds “welcome to my world”
He might be blind, "But he's seen things you wouldn't believe" 😉
I "see" what you did there 😎
hahaha this comment is great.
Tannhauser Gate flashbacks Roy?
@@x0rZ15t Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of orion?
Lol " all those moments, will be lost. Like tears in rain"
Rutger Hauer was a total legend, only in the 80s can you call a kid a little prick.
Pretty sure you can still say that today. You little prick.
Before political correctness...................yes.
Lol. Not true. My dad calls me a c**t all the time. 🤣🤣
No, you can still to it now a days. Trust me, it works just fine. Not all countries are oversensetive and about to die if you say something they dislike hearing. And even those that are, you can still call a kid a prick. Afterwards you might lose your job, and have to say sorry on country wide televison . But you can still do it ! :P

He was a good one. You don't get them like that now. May He R.I.P.
Cutie 😍
I have to admit when he says "Nice doggie", that made me chuckle a bit.
Only in Florida.
I was thinking maybe that’s Elvis, Sonny Crockett’s gator, gone walkabout!
It's been so long since I last saw this movie! I'd actually forgotten how hilarious it could be. I need to find this gem again.
"A little water never hurt anyone."
Roy Batty: *smiles in Tears in the Rain*
So many great Rutger Hauer scenes in movies; it's hard to pick a favorite.
Blade Runner, Hitcher, Wanted Dead or Alive, Ladyhawke...
I had forgotten how good this movie is. Thanks for posting!
“I want you to meet someone.”
“Hope he’s nice. Lately everyone has been trying to kill me.”
Rutger Hauer - In the 80s, you didn't need any other excuse to see a film if he was in it. - So great - I wish he'd had more class roles - he was greater than the parts he was given.
"are you blind or what" "yea i im whats your excuse" had be cracking up
Rutgers best movie ever RIP Rutger hauer 1944-2019
One of the best movies in general.
@@wojtekczemas9668 thank you man for responding great cast Rutger hauer Terry O'Quinn jt from step by step Meg foster CD Parker TeX Cobb Packard Walsh and an appearance from super ninja sho kosugi great movie period.........
Oh, I'd say Nighthawks was his best
Oh I loved him in nighthawks especially when she used and abused Sally Field look alike then blade runner the hitcher 86 blind side 93 scoring with future Olivia Benson surviving the game with ice t and of course blind fury I miss you Rutger you were the man
Cory Bernstein loved the Hitcher John Ryder ..he was so hot as Ryder ...
I loved this movie. He was also awesome in Bladerunner. RIP Rutger.
LOL. All the C-listers in this movie..... I love it.
I can't believe that an 80's movie had 70's gunfire sounds, but heck, they were on a budget.
"A strong man is never afraid of crying" ,that made me cry.
"I've seen things you people...oops, never mind."
Classic.
Decent reference, little f***** up but still funny😂
THAT'S FUNNY!
I was wondering where I recognized him from thanks
he would laugh lol
A very good and highly underrated actor of his day and his film blind fury might be a cult classic but it's one of my absolute favorite action films of all time he was very very believable as a blind sword fighter and I really loved the scene where he split the old boxer Intuit the waist with the sword when he fell out the window and two pieces. Rest in peace Rucker you were one of my favorites and I think a favorite of many.
I've been a Fan of Rutger Hauer every since I saw him in Blade Runner and this action flick from the 80s has some of the funniest lines ever. RIP Nick Fury and Roy Batty we miss you.
I've this pearl of a movie three times. Its magic is in combining humor and action so that it's not a comedy. Take heed, Johnny Wick!
I miss this guy. He was a very good actor.
The best line was the elevator scene. Shit! Fuck! Shit fuck! Hahahaha. LOVE this movie.
how only Rutger Hauer can, ,..he always brings that something extra to a movie. R.I.P.
"Shit!" "Fuck!" "SHIT FUCK!" LOL I love this movie sooooo much.
His fight against Sho Kosugi is up there as one of the best sword fights I've seen!
I loved this movie. Never took itself seriously, funny with plenty of action.
Rutger Hauer was also excellent as Captain Navarre in Ladyhawke with Michelle Pfeiffer
'Hahaha, nice doggie' 🤣👌
This dude was underrated and under utilised, RIP Boss 🤝 🍻
At an old second run theater, I had a choice between Always and Blind Fury. One of the best times I had for a dollar.
with a title as bonkers as "Blind Fury," why would you ever not picking it?
That man was utterly gorgeous..like an angel had created his face...those sharp cheekbones and beautiful eyes and mane of lovely blond hair...Rutger Hauer to me truly was the single most handsome movie star the world had ever seen. Rutger was a little before my time, but I'd take him and his movies over many I've seen today. I'm very upset that he's gone now....💔
The Rockall Times I see what you mean, ha ha..being blond haired and blue eyed ..the Aryan thing. I'm blonde and blue eyed myself and was subject to "Hitler" comments all the time while @ school!
There's clips of his father he certainly didnt inherit his looks from him.
The Rockall Times Yes, he was a beautiful looking man. And they hated that.
@@irishguy13 who's they? Your parents?
john smith his mother looked like him facially but she was brunette...I think. I've only seen one picture of Teunke Mellema (his mom)
In these days they made good movies, this is one bests about Rutger Hauer's movies
Never seen this movie but the bit where he says good doggy to the crocodile was funny.
Rip Rutger❤
Note to self. Find Blind Fury at my nearest DVD store.
Wait they still have DVD stores? only places that still sell DVD's are Target, BIG-W and JB HI-FI but they onlysell a few DVD's but i haven't seen a dedicated DVD store in years.
it was released on blu-ray
Nearest FYE store.
You could try blockbusters.
@@saul.newman I thought they were extinct except for one in Oregon.
I always pictured Hauer portraying the protagonist's hero's role in the Dean Koontz book, Lightning (if anyone should ever dare make that into a movie).
That book made me fall in love with reading back in the early 90's.
Of all the movies I could have rented, I specifically chose Blind Fury on my 23rd birthday. RIP Mr. Hauer
I remember seeing this in the theater. Laughed the whole time, fun movie.
RIP Rutger Hauer! Legendary actor!
" Nice Doggy" said to an alligator, love this movie 😎
RIP Rutger and thank you for sharing your talents with us!
Now I remember why I wanted a sword cane when I was younger.
Always
I have one...I'm literally living the dream.
Also Zatoichi.

"God damn! That thing's got more holes than my daddy's rubber! Whooo!!"
"Didn't know daddy wore a rubber!"
Слепая ярость с замечательным актёром Рутгер Хауер, моя молодость в конце 89...
I love these ancient movies!!
This movie feels strangely modern.
We’ll always remember you on some of your memorable films Rutger Hauer. 1944/2019 (RIP)
It's amazing how the same acror played Nick Parker here, a upbeat, smiling, wise cracking blond Zatoichi, and John Ryder, a ruthless, no-nonsense, pcychopath! That without mention his iconic Blade Runner role! One of the finest actors I've seen in my life! If not the finest! Aside from Eddie Van Halen and waffles, the best thing that the Netherlands gave to the world!
Use to watch this on video tape back in the late 90s as a child awesome film!
Missed out the restaurant scene. "Give me the purse, gringo." "Are you sure it matches your dress?"
gimmie the purse \\ oh whats going on ..whoops
It's a little mild for me got anything more Macho!
Yes thanks for reminding me,that was a great scene. I liked the hot sauce.🤗😮🤐😮🤗
I heard a rumor a while ago. I heard that the lady that wrote the "Interview with a Vampire" book, she had Rutger Hauer in her mind as Lestat. Can you imagine if he was Lestat rather than Tom Cruise??
That would have worked if the movie had been made around when the book was written. He would have been 50 when he made the film based on when the movie came out. Not saying it wouldn't have worked but....hey, we did see him as a vampire in Buffy! :)
I'd have watched it had Rutger been Lestat...as I cannot stand Titchy Tom Thumb, I never bothered watching IWAV.
Christopher Walken, always played and absolutely superb bad guy.
Rutger was under consideration for the part of Lestat, but since he was pushing 50, they went the wrong route. I remember hearing this back in '93
@@JnEricsonx Peewee Herman also.
I work at a blind school and Rutger does a good imitation if you're not too nit-picky.
You left out the best line out of the entire movie. When they have him surrounded and his buddy turns the lights off. "I can't see a thing" ---- RH --"That's where i live"
"A strong man is never afraid to die." Back when movies could write strength and compassion in the same character.
@Alexander Smith you heard correct.
He said is not afraid to cry
Loved this movie when it came out! One of my favorites from such a great character actor in Rutger Hauer. While it's a little cheesy, it's a great watch just because of Mr. Hauer. This is the man that made villains likeable while you still wanted them to lose to the hero. He did this as Roy Batty in "Blade Runner", as well as the villain in the Stallone movie "Night Hawks". He and the late, great Alan Rickman (Hans from "Die Hard") brought the cool to villain roles - peace and blessings to both of these great actors. But "Blind Fury" was a joy to watch.
To be honest.. I hated Deckard and loved Batty..although I kinda hate it when Tyrell gets his eyes gouged..
RIP RUTGAR HAUER, ONE OF MY CHILDHOOD FAVORITES
This movie was awesome!...and don't forget Split Second....another underrated gem!
"Now, we're gonna get...bigger guns."
this movie was in my usual rotation of films as a kid, fond memories
I recently got to watch Blind Fury again and it is still a lot of fun. Not all movies age well. This and Bloodsport are my two favourite action movies from my youth.
I remember watching this movie during a 2 hour break when I was in college. They don't make films this good anymore.
The Best Movie of Rutger Hauer.
Watched this again today, wow still good as ever, I can relate to this as my dad was totally blind from 1977 till he died in 2006,,,,,,it’s so true they may lose sight but develop other senses,,,,my dad knew people by footsteps coming,,,,,amazing, still miss him today xx

suzu.....the gift of "Situational Awareness" seems to be what your father possessed, sad but today people Totally Depend on their phones to tell them what to do, where they are, they have lost their desire/ ability to connect with their surroundings.
I suggest aspirin for that headache!! 😂😂😂
What headache?
Love that scene.
This scene is priceless. LOL.
I love the part with the Alligator Nice doggy!
1:11 My personal favorite.
This movie was made when movie makers didn't feel the need to spoon feed the audience. Today, Rutger Hauer would say, "THIS headache." before knocking out the bad guy, or stand over him afterward and say, "THAT headache." I mostly don't watch new movies. I keep going back to the classics. And I have LOTS of time for movies with the late and great Rutger Hauer in them.
This movie is epic! R.I.P. Dutchman
This movie is great! Rutger left us to soon,Even though i never knew him,i still feel the loss as if i did.Mr Hauers movies have given me great pleasure in my life.
He was incredible in Ladyhawk.
Love this movie, must’ve watched it 50 times growing up. Love Rutgers Hauer. Even when a movie sucked, he made it good. But this wasn’t a sucky movie at all. One of the best Zatoichi movies ever made. And in English at boot!
I've seen this movie 100 times in my youth and its definitely a comedy more than anything else. Like Big Trouble in Little China.
I love how it plays a lot of scenes from the trailer, then it plays the trailer after
I loved this movie! Back when VHS was still a thing and you had to drive to a store to rent movies, I happened across this and grabbed it because Rutger Hauer was on the cover. What a great adventure story!
RIP my old hero. 2019
Just watched this movie for the first time I've always seen clips and previews even when I was a kid I never watched it thought it was gonna be stupid I was wrong great movie I'm glad I waited till I was 42 yrs old to finally watch it
Love this movie, but even if it gave us nothing else, the invention of the word "SHITFUCK" makes it legendary.
This is one of the best movies ever made.
RIP Rutger Hauer! Great and underrated movie.
Greatest movie a 9 year old could watch on summer vacation
Anyone here from the UK? And old enough to remember "the video man"?
Ours drove a blue Sierra Estate with the boot full of VHS tapes.. Door 2 Door rental before Blockbuster... This film was one of the gems you'd discover... RIP Rutger, you were a big part of my childhood...
I loved this movie growing up. STILL do. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Hauer would have made as great a Hannibal Lector as Anthony Hopkins. I’ve been a fan since I was 13. The Hitcher is my favorite Rutger Hauer movie.
He got to play Van Helsing in Dario Argento’s Dracula movie. Nice switch from him in Buffy.
I really love this movie
I remember catching this on TV as a kid, never knew the name of it, and didn't rediscover it until the Internet.
You should check out Zatoichi which this film is based on.
Hauer was sadly underappreciated
I need to watch this movie again.
Классный фильм! Рутгер лучший!
Yeah this movie and wanted was one of his best movies I think now he's had great movies so he's been a good guy he's been a bad guy before but I sure like his movies
This flick advocated the fact that the blind/visually challenged weren't helpless
and just as important that you were not a perpetual victim because of a disability.
It was clearly inspired by the classic Zatoichi.
I love this movie. Great action and great humor as well.
Rutger Hauer good in so many movies then there is "SPLIT SECOND"
