  • "Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you."
"Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man! Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for so their fathers did to the prophets."
"Woe to you, when all people speak well of you, for so their fathers did to the false prophets."
Welcome to the fourth and final video where we discuss being persecuted. There are so many beautiful Scripture verses on this topic, so I plan to do more videos on this topic. Thank you for joining me in this mini series on The Beatitudes. Follow along with me today in Matthew Chapter 5 and Luke Chapter 6.

I just found your channel. I love that you are teaching others God’s word and that you are a proud homemaker. I stayed at home with my kids and homeschooled them. I was looked down on for not going out and working to make more money. My oldest just started college and my friends are starting to comment on the benefits of me staying home with my kids. We eat meals together, my kids are best friends, and we volunteer at church or community events as a family. I pray more people put their children first instead of money.

What fantastic work you have done / still do! Your kids will benefit so much from all that time with you, and all of the memories they have. What a blessing you are for your family! You are an encouragement to keep going. It's always nice to hear these words when you're in the thick of it! I have definitely been through the cycle of focusing on the money, but I know caring for God's children is the most important. Praying like you, that others see that too! 🙏

I'm a people pleaser too. Didn't realize it until I was about 40. I have learned that I can't make everyone happy and that not everyone will like me. That's a good thing! I shouldn't want to make everyone happy, because if I am, I'm compromising my walk with Christ. If we are for Christ we can't be for the world. We need to seek truth. The longer we avoid it, the harder things get. God Bless you and your beautiful family 🥰

Thank you for having the humility and bravery to be “real” in sharing the motherhood struggles of having sick children, no sleep, and a smelly couch !
You are helping young homemaking Christian wives and mothers to know that they are not alone. Asking Jesus for help ,breathing deeply , and continuing to serve with His love makes this marathon possible.
I just finished raising, homeschooling and discipling my 4 children. I remember the frequent exhaustion as well as the joy of those days. Embrace this season and keep loving on those precious gifts from God.This season with them in your home and in your arms pass all too quickly.

I just found your channel. I am 68 years old but I do remember those days with young kids. Your video touched me because my husband had 3 major strokes in 2021 so I take care of him 24/7. Sometimes I don’t get allot of sleep due to him not really being in his right mind. Some days can be hard and I had turned inward instead of turning to God and the Word. A little over a week ago I found Susan Hack Bible teachings which totally convicted me of my behavior. Love watching you living out the Christ life ❤️

    Dear Kelsey,
Thank you for the encouragement and highlighting, the fact, that sometimes, it's ok to start late but we need to start at one point of time. And about the warning of making this as an excuse everytime, such that it shouldn't become our habit and to pray to God by relying upon the Holy Spirit God in our sufferings and weaknesses.
And, thank you for the message on persecution, got really connected to it. 🙏

YUP! I have pointed this out to some other women in my life & most don't even know. I didn't know-know until I really started reading the Bible regularly, but I knew-knew in my soul what a woman's role is, I think (if that statement makes any bit of sense LOL). Some have given me blank stares & some have outright told me they 'don't like to do it', & some have said that they know what the right/scriptural thing to do is right & when they are doing it, life goes much more joyful - but.....they fall back into old habits, & some make excuses about why it can't be done. 🤷 And I have been to different kinds of church & I have never heard a sermon, homily, group discussion on the how & why of scriptural womanhood - so it no wonder that no one knows what they are supposed to be doing. And I don't have a good example. My mother is a contentious & vexatious woman, who does 'womanly' things (baking, cooking, stayed home with us) but, she does it with a dead spirit & nothing turns out joyful. I KNOW when I am following these things laid out in the Bible - with an ALIVE spirit - all goes well with my soul (& household)

YES, Girl! Fruits of the Holy Spirit. Would LOVE To see a video on THAT. Been studying on that all week! Gotta get down with the Virtues first (prudence, justice, fortitude, temperance, faith, hope, charity) Those lead to the 7 GIFTS of the Holy Spirit (wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, Fear of God) and once you have received the gifts, you have the Fruits of the Holy Spirit (charity, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, longanimity, mildness, faith, modest, self control, chastity). It is like a garden...First you have to do all the HARD work (virtues) ..digging, weeding, etc...then the little sprouts grow (gifts) and then you can harvest (fruits), if you have tended your 'garden'. What many don't realize (even me, but I've been studying & praying on this all week) is that these are ACTIONS, not FEELINGS. What you are expressing in your video is having/behaving in the manner of Fortitude (doing what you know is right in the face of obstacles, being steadfast) & Charity (acting in a loving manner towards your children, even though you are frazzled) - You don't feel prudence or temperance...you have to act on them when you feel like you can't. the Gifts are actions, too, that you are exercising. And even the Fruits are actions. You don't feel self control or chastity - you act upon it or force yourself to do it. It is HARD WORK.

Hi Kelsey, thank you for sharing your life with us❤. I love love your transparency🎉.
I'm a Christian & do appreciate your knowledge of scripture. I agree with you anything can be an idol or become an idol. I often wonder why do citholics pray to Mary & other dead people who were part of Jesus's life. Some of my family members kneel & make alters & worship pictures believing that's how they looked like & is their idol to go when they have a need. That is so sad😢. The bible says to go to God for our needs directly & He doesn't want us to go to anyone with our petitions. In your other video you said your worship Mary... so why praying to her. She was a human being chooses by God to give birth to our Saviour Jesus Christ❤. Mary is nothing else but that. Please read a bible that doesn't encourage to worship another human being. I love your transparency & I hope be with you as well. On the other hand I'm very bless by the way you shared the beatitudes. Hugs❤

Hi. I feel as though you are coming at Catholicism based off of your beliefs and understanding and not what the Church teaches. Which if one isn't taught, how would they know? We don't pray to Mary as you probably think, we talk to her, yes, asking for her intercession. The definition of prayer is to talk to and ask, which yes we talk to her and saints, yet we don't pray in the way you and I pray to Jesus. We only pray to and believe in Jesus, that He is our salvation. Everyone has a picture of Jesus, Mary, the disciples, etc. in their head, based off of a statue, painting, etc. No, Catholics don't worship pictures, relics, etc. And if someone you know does, that's their own wrong belief, not that of the Catholic faith. What about other Christian denominations who have a nativity out at Christmas? Because it is the same thing. It is the remembrance of a person, story, or event, not something to worship or pray to. We are all one body of Christ, and we don't believe that death separates that. In Hebs. 12:1 there are "a great cloud of witnesses." Therefore, we acknowledge that those in heaven do surround us. No. They don't have the ability to do what God can, and their role is to intercede for us as you would for me or I would for you if we asked to pray for one another. We also know in Rev. 12:1 Mary was crowned Queen, so she isn't just some human that has no importance. It's interesting that many people call the land that Jesus walked on holy, but not the womb that bore Him. Hopefully this makes sense. 🙃

    • @pattyhansen7563
      @pattyhansen7563 4 місяці тому +1

I am Catholic. I do not 'pray to Mary' to fix things for me. I do not 'worship' Mary. I give her her due honor for delivering the Christ Child & for suffering the sacrifice of watching her beloved son be slain in front of her! I ask her to pray FOR me. It would be no different than if I was having a hard time & asked YOU to say a prayer FOR me. Mary is not a 'nothing'. She was very, very special... the only one who was worthy of giving birth to the Son of Man. We use these pictures, statues, etc...as symbols to keep in mind the very real struggles & sacrifices that these people (Mary, Joseph, apostles, saints) made for their faith. I have never once asked Mary to DO anything for me, to solve any problem, or to perform some 'miracle' for me. "Holy Mary, Mother of God, PRAY for us sinners now and at the hour of our death." nothing more than asking her to pray FOR us. "our" Bible does not encourage us to worship any other human being - its the same Bible with a few 'extra' books in it, of which none tell us to worship anyone other than God. I am not sure where you are getting that from - who is teaching this ????

    Hi, Kelsey!🥰
I'm so sorry to hear that your babies are feeling under the weather. Praying for them and for you, for God to give you strenght and energy.🙏
Ah... pity parties... I throw some of those myself, from time to time 🙈 and I'm not proud of it, but as you said, we sometimes use whatever motive we are feeling sad about as an excuse to just "relax" and do nothing.
And have you noticed that when we are feeling sorry for ourselves, the time we use to supposedly rest and reset is almost always used to go over what started it all in the first place and we end up feeling even more angry/tired/sorry for ourselves?
Of course, there are times when we do NEED to rest and relax, but we confuse God's nudge to us to get a break and rest, with our own voice. Does that happen to you? It happens to me many times.
I'm glad that you heard God's voice and followed what the Holy Spirit put in your heart!🥰
About making someone or something an idol... it is so true, that we even make people we follow online an idol. Or the people we love, or things that make us happy or even angry. "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Mathew 6:21
Like you, I am a people pleaser and I dread to make other people mad or sad. But as much as we love to make other people happy, first of all we have to think if we make our Father in Heaven happy with our choices/thoughts/actions, right? We have to think like that brand that existed in the 90's: WWJD (I don't know if it still exists).
"What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?" Mark 8:36
And it shouldn't be difficult to choose between making God happy and others happy, but it is sometimes...☹ And we end up offending our sweet Father, because we don't want to offend those that many times, practice those things that as you said, are contradictory to what the Word says, but are accepted as normal by the world.
Finally (I'm SOOOO sorry for the long comment) that cinnamon wreath looks delicious! I lived in the States for a while, due to my husband's work and I discovered cinnamon rolls then. I was in love!🤤
So, a friend gave a recipe and I've made them here in Portugal, but never in a wreath. And I didn't know about the heavy whipping cream trick. Will have to give it a try!😁 I bet that with some ristalized cheeries and green icing on top, it would make a beautiful Christmas cinnamon wreath!
God bless and may we be more like Paul!☺🙏
    And Happy Thanksgiving!🦃🍂🙏

Happy Thanksgiving! Don't ever apologize for a long comment. Everything you said was beautiful ❤️ and spot on. The verse in Mark about, "What good is it to gain the world..." is sooooo convicting! In the end, it gets us nothing and nowhere. It is so hard at times, but this is a great verse to memorize. This has been a struggle on mine for years, but I'm hoping with continued prayer and practice, I will stop offending our Father and speak boldly every time. That is such an interesting yet great point of view. It's pretty much a trade off, you are either offending a person / group of people or our Heavenly Father. Thank you for sharing Scripture. The Holy Spirit is definitely speaking through you and your words. I'm glad you brought the cinnamon roll back to Portugal! I am not crafty, so I couldn't think of many ways to make it a "wreath," but your idea with the cheerios is genius! I'm so glad you shared what was on your heart! God bless you 🥰

Thank you, Kelsey!🥰And I just noticed I wrote cheeries instead of cherries.🙈🙈🙈 Sorry! I meant cherries, because they are red and would give the wreath a Christmas look!😁
About what you said "This has been a struggle on mine for years, but I'm hoping with continued prayer and practice, I will stop offending our Father and speak boldly every time", I struggle with the same and I know that many women have the same struggle.
So, let us pray for each other and fast and God will make us grow spiritually in Jesus Name!
      Have a blessed weekend, friend!🙏❤

@@faithfulacresfarmhouseit was never religion. Remember religion leaders killed Jesus Christ. Catholic is not the truth. The devil comes as a angel of light. It’s says clearly in the Bible. The only way to God is through Jesus Christ. He is the way, the truth, and the life! Not Mary! Not rosary! Only through Lord Jesus Christ, God of Israel!

@marciejones6873 You are totally right. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life! Our only way to heaven is through Him. We don't earn it, and most certainly don't deserve it. I'm sorry you have misconceptions about Catholics beliefs. The Hail Mary is made up of Scripture. "Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee." These are the words the angel Gabriel said to her. Some translations use hello, or greeting, rather than hail. Hail means hello, not worship. I believe that the Catholic Church was the first church created by Jesus, when he told Peter, "upon this rock I will build my church." Jesus said, "not even the gates of hell will prevail it." I believe Him when He says that. I don't believe personally that Jesus said that, and then HIS Church became "lost" or after 1500 years was all of the sudden wrong. I'm sure we believe very similar things, more than you think, you have probably just learned or have been told false teachings. ❤️ But we fully believe Christ is the ONLY way.

When cooking over food. Pull back hair so it is not dangling over food prep….I am so surprised mothers don’t teach something so basic of kitchen hygiene….

    • @pattyhansen7563
      @pattyhansen7563 4 місяці тому

TBH, most of 'our' mothers did NOT teach us about kitchen hygiene. Most of us 20-40 age group women did NOT have mothers that did any of this stuff & we have had to figure it out on our own. By the time we came along, ''Home Economics had become 'Home & CAREERS', with the emphasis put on CAREERS. I learned how to make toast with butter, cinnamon & sugar for cooking class.... not helpful. I had a mother that chased us out of her kitchen & never had the time or patience to show us anything. And if you are not eating in her household, why care? If YOU know that hair should be pulled back, you probably always do so. I'm not trying to say this to be mean. It is just that we are at a point in society where mothers did not teach these things because they were at work, & the bigger picture is that this woman is trying with ALL her HEART to do good by her family, & to help other younger women see that they, too, can do these things. did you know that (where I live anyway) 'Home & Careers' has now switched to a focus on drug & alcohol abuse prevention. So how would a young woman know these little things? Our mothers were lied about their role & our generations have suffered greatly for it. your comment is a valid one, but perhaps could be phrased more kindly (in this video & the other one where you said yuck, yuck, yuck).

So you can’t take a moment for yourself and rest? That’s sad. I think if you’re overwhelmed to take some time to recharge is not a bad thing. One day of your home being a mess is not a sin. We aren’t perfect beings. You are putting me to shame. I get overwhelmed easily and sometimes just need some time to myself to calm my nerves even if it’s just 10 minutes in my bed room to just breathe. I love your channel but this one actually discourages me because I feel less than.
