- Come on a tour through the mighty MV Steve Irwin. We look at the bridge, engine room, galley, helideck, water cannons and more. Thanks to the new owner, Kerrie Goodall from www.ship4good.com.au , we got to check out the warrior of the ocean which is currently based in Carrington ship yards, Newcastle, Australia. It's part of the Greenpeace & Sea Shepard activity in the ocean that saved 1000's of whales in the oceans all around the world. We hope you enjoy the video. so cool of you to visit awsome job on the interview. We love your passion for sharing stories. Come back aboard soon when we open the theme rooms.
Thanks Kerrie for showing us around The Steve. You have put so much effort into this project, and I hope everyone who sees this video comes to visit you. It’s an amazing boat with a rich history, saving 1000’s of whales. We look forward to seeing the finished product.
Is the ship still operational/sea worthy? I don't understand what is happening to it now? Is it turning into a pizza restaurant in the harbour?
It’s no longer operational Bill. It’s being converted into a museum and function centre. I couldn’t show that on camera because it’s almost complete, but it’ll be amazing to visit once finished. Lots of rooms underneath and each will have its own story to tell (museum style and interactive). Their website will have the details. Thanks for watching my video.
Japan paid big to shut that down
other way around. In 2018 the IWC shut Japan down from whaling in the Australian Antarctic Marine Sanctuary BUT.. looks like they will have another go next year in the AUSTRALIAN marine sanctuary reserved to protect whales
Well done thank you You have grown up a lot
Thanks Martin. Glad you enjoyed it. Maybe it was long pants that aged me :)
