  • We got this 1954 International R120 pickup from a subscriber who said it "Ran when Parked" 27 years ago. It's got the inline 6 cylinder OHV engine and 4 speed manual transmission. Lets get it cleaned up and see if we can get it back to its former glory! If you're interested in purchasing the pickup I have bad news... It sold less than 12 hours after we posted this video to one of our subscribers! BUT, if you're interested in the 1953 Studebaker pickup, Jimmy would like $500 for it in the shown condition. Email us if you're interested in the Stude! Thanks for watching everyone!

    The reason the old internationals aren’t rusted out is the thickness of the sheet metal on the body. It’s hard to knock a dent in one with a framing hammer. They are like a tank. Brake drums are larger, clutches and flywheels are larger. They were built to last like a tractor. I’ve had 2 of them when I was younger. 71 now. They are good trucks. 👍😀👉🇺🇸

    I learned to drive in one of these. I think it was 265 ci. It had a main bearing between each cylinder. It was so tough you could pull tree stumps in low gear. Once I bounced over railroad tracks and it started running rough. It would idle but missed when you step on the gas. Turned out the coil wire fell off and was arcing about 4 inches to make contact. Great memories.

      Yeah it broke my heart. I had a 55 R-110 with the same engine. Got it with 85k on it and it was the 2nd one that had been placed in it. After putting about 75k more on it , I had it rebuilt for $1100. A big price for a Senior in college. I came home for Christmas and due to heavy snow took my 48 Willy's Pickup 4x4 with a snow plow on it and 500lb of rocks in it from College Spring to Abilene, Tx. Boy it was a great choice. Had a rear winch a front winch ( blocked by plow ) and a couple of yellow strobe lights. When came back my dad HIGHLY suggested I let my brother use it. A couple of years later he blew the rear end. BOOOOO 😭😭😭😭😭

    Mortske: "So whattya think Duff...Do you think we should keep this one?
    Duff(Tail Wagging) : Yup.., I yike it!
    Mortske: yeah...I gotta say....,"She's got that funky mold patina
    Duff: " This truck would give Puddin' a Wooden."
    Now we're talkin'.....
    Bro, this one is definitely a keeper.. You won't find anything nicer for the year and shape, it's much more than yard art. She's got good bones, nice interior, its all there and its a fine looking truck.
    If you got the title go for it. LS swap, a game changer for sure. It's even Duff approved, what more do you need? A small investment of time, some used parts, this could be a money maker/ game changer for you down the road.

      If I would have found that I would go with the overhaul or the 302 Ford 6 cylinder . Those engines have 7 main bearings and I don’t think you can break them with an AK 47. Paint the floors and cab corners with Por-15 and drive it.

    • @IR-nq4qv
      @IR-nq4qv 3 роки тому +1

      @@farmguys1 sorry to correct my friend, there's no such animal as a 302 six cylinder in a Ford, a 302 is a small block V8, the closet to that in a six cylinder is a 300ci it has 7 mains, this is the one you are referring to. The 300 is essentially a truck motor, same size as a 240 ci in a car but with a longer compression stroke.
      Many of those Ford 300 engines are still being used today in courier vans and yes I agree, they are very stout when it comes to power, torque and taking punishment.

    I had two of these back in the late 70's, both were 6 cyl., 4speed, blew the engine in both of them. One was beat up quite bad so I just used it for parts. Finely due to the lack of available parts, I changed the engine from the better of the two. I put a 1967 Barracuda slant six in it. A week or so later I drove it loaded with everything I owned in it 350 miles to Connecticut for a new job, two months later I sold it to get the money I needed to file for a divorce ( the smartest thing I ever did, still single today :-) ).
    I wish you luck with this one, I enjoyed driving mine, Wish I still had it today.
