Tinbum kits and springs are the best value and best behaved of the commercially available tune kits. I prefer them over V-Mach, Vortek, Maccari and anything else I’ve tried. They’re unpretentious, well made and make a rifle work as it ought to. Simple to fit and excellent quality, the instructions are clear and the kits are well packed. As they say ‘does what it says on the tin’ (bum).
Thanks Nick. You're right about removing the burrs from the compression tube. They can give you a nasty cut (ask me how I know). If you want to polish the piston to within an inch of its life, Abranet cloth is good stuff. A cheap 1/2 inch paintbrush is handy for painting grease onto the spring
Great guides Nick. I had Shauny of the AGF fettle my 99s about 4 years ago and it has not been apart since. Although it still shoots amazingly it is probably time to strip, degrease and re lube and may as well pop one of your kits in at the same time.
Nick, I’m in Wisconsin USA. I plan to strip my HW50s down in a couple of months when the weather gets too cold to shoot outside. Assuming you ship to the US, how long does it take to get a kit here?
Question- I use a Hawke Vantage 2-7x32 AO IR scope on my 2022 manufactured 99s. It has the etched glass reticle and don't hear any ping at all as you stated. Is this just a problem with the wire reticle models. I have enjoyed the series and found it useful especially the trigger section, as I already have given my rifle a home tune ,polish and re-lube. This gave great results and I have no gawling present after thousands of pellets. May in the future try one of your kits if I experience any issues.
@@tbtairrifletuning1520 No worries and thanks for the reply. Smaller scopes really suit the 99s, too many owners over scope these great little guns imo.

We post worldwide tracked, they usually take 7-10 working days

It isn’t all of them, but I think the larger ones are louder

I've got some headlight restoration stuff, will this do for polishing the piston?
As long as it makes it shiny and leaves no residue it’ll be fine👍

I used Atuosol metal polish. Available at all car accessory shops. Great stuff
hi nick my 99s piston seal has a chunk out of the side would this be broken
Possibly, if it is on the lip of the seal
No piston sleeve? This is a rifle that needs one for sure, 95 and 98 have twang with a sleeve
Once you have fitted a TbT kit a sleeve is hardly every needed
@@memememe2674 The fit of the top hat and guide mean that the spring is centralised so no need for a sleeve.
