I like the pen lid method of dealing with the shims, I’ve used a cheap pencil so far but the pen lid is better. Excellent sequence on breech bolt tensioning.
If your gun needs the anti gall mods you may find the cocking link develops an annoying rattle. This can be fixed with an M7 nylon grub screw cut to fit under front stock screw and sharpened to a point. This eliminates rattle but will make cocking feel a little stiffer until eventually the point wears in for a perfect fit. Costs practically nothing. Can be adjusted over time too.
Seems to be more 'fenangling' to remove the end block than on the HW80, but less 'Oomph' required...and less skin removed from knuckles when replacing under pre-tension. Cheers m'dears!
I am waiting for the trigger adjustment video for this rifle. I have seen a couple of other folks’ videos on the trigger, but they left me with more questions than answers. I want to know if the rifle has to be disassembled to adjust the trigger, and how do you deal with that metal tab they bash at the factory to lock the trigger in place? Do you bend it to loosen it and bash it back when you’re done? Eager to see your take on the process.
questions, I've got a 99, and absolutely love it. This week I'm going to be getting your drop in kit for it and doing the work suggested in your videos. 1- Are the 99 kits you're selling now made with the black F1 components? 2- What size punch are you using? 3- What grade of abrasive paper comes in the kit?
Just bought my first air rifle in 30 years and gone for the hw99s after hours of youtube. Naive question.. If I send it to be tuned would a gun guy prefer it fresh out the box or after a couple of tins of pellets have been through it? Side note: fenangling, wotsits, thingymajigs and doohickeys are standard in our house 😊
Hi Andy. As soon as possible before the poor lubrication causes damage is the answer. But I would urge you to try this yourself first, it is not difficult and needs doing on a fairly regular basis to keep the gun in tip-top condition!👍
@@tbtairrifletuning1520 That's great thankyou. Unfortunately a stroke has left three fingers useless so I think it's a bit beyond me. I didn't pick up on the galling issue either until after I bought it so think a professional would be my best bet. Thanks again
Quick question regarding the shims, are they "side sensitive" or can they be fitted either side, just wondering if they may be different thickness's, hope this isn't an "id10t" question, great video's too
@@lumleytc as far as I know, they are identical. I have had guns with two on one side and one on the other, but that may have been a mistake at the factory👍
Hi nick, I have one of your kits in my 95 I need a new spring basically cut it to short😢 what size spring do I need from your site? will I need 31 coils?

Great idea!
Great job Nick. Nice to see more spring airgun work coming from you.

Tomorrow at 7pm all your questions will be answered!
How do you do it the same way with removing the blocks, but I use two quarters behind the wrench. It makes a big difference! 🤠👍
I love these videos.

The HW99 spring kits direct from us now all have the F1 plastic in them, I use a 3.5mm punch, and I,think the abrasive is 120 grit👍
outstanding, just ordered mine, need to get hold of some tools now👍🏻
Looking forward to the anti gauling video these buggers need it.
Thanks great video
👍Great informative video buddy! Cheers!

Hi,
Could I ask ...how long is the uncompressed mainspring for this in sub 12 ftlb?
Regards
We use our 31 coil spring for the TbT Maxi kit. This is usually sub 12👍

Yes, the 31 coil for uk power👍
Would a barrel from a hw80 fit on a hw99 ?
Not without work
Fenangaling........ How do you spell it properly 😂😂 and you talk about Americans🤪
