Don't forget the politics. There is a reason why the Orange Jesus always goes there when he's in Northern Nevada, that's where all the Righty Tighties live. Not sure how it affects daily living but all the same, take note.

What about the historical legacy of the "Sundown Siren" that once told Native Americnas to leave the town of Minden at sunset or face trouble, arrest or worse ? They still sound the racist Siren twice a day, but legally pretend it is for something else to avoid Nevada State Law that forebids racist, Sundown Sirens in Nevada. Seems like a majority of Minden voters don't care about that terrible history, as the elected City Council refuses to end the Sundown Siren.
Do they really still? If so, what is the new reason?
The siren has been silenced per the governor as of June 2023.
Yeah, yeah, racist this, racist that, all in the distant past. Let it go. no one practices any racisms in Minden, much less the rest of the country. Relax. There is a whole wonderful world out there if you just let go of the past and embrace the now. I've lived in Minden for 18 years. It's nice when we don't get big city liberals coming in to make us like the big city.
