  • Trying a few stock 0-60 runs on my base GT. These 235 P Zeros are crap (no surprise)! However, at least we now have a base line.

    Hey bro. Ignore the idiots who criticize and they don't make videos of their own. (I'm getting a few on my video of my '18 Mustang tranny getting blown this weekend and they have no idea what they're talking about). You actually did awesome. My best time is only 4.8 seconds and I have Magneride and PP1. So kudos for some good launches. Keep up the awesome vids. Subbed.

    I have a 18 GT with an MT82 and the 3.55 non torsen rear end. My times are the same. The advertised 3.9 zero to 60 is on a 10R80 PP1 with the 3.73 torsen rear end. So being I full second behind to me is not bad at all.

    Recommendation is get the Steeda stop the hop package to control the tire hop. That Ford power is a killer.
    255(s) sound good. Have a blessed one. Peace

      Yep. “Stop the hop” kit and sticky 255s (bigger if I get a larger rim soon). Should be pretty good at that point.

    I can't help but think I may get a set of SVE R350's in 19x10, then square up a set of 265/40/19's for daily driving and some decent 0-60 times. The other option is to go 285/35/19, but that may be a bit wide for more comfortable daily driving on the highway.

    There is a reason the track pkg has 275 rear and 255 front. I consider your car dangerous with the tires it comes with. If you drive normal you are fine but if you push it it gets hairy fast. I highly recommend the Michelin pilot super sports or other equivalent tires in their category

    • @OffroadNow
      @OffroadNow  6 років тому +3

      I agree that they’re dangerous. I’ve had a GT350, so I know exactly what to put on this GT next. 235 all-season Pirelli’s are a joke. However, as I said to one other person that commented, I had to try these out and once I did I knew I had to put this video up as basically a warning. These tires, with all the nannies off, are a disaster. No car that puts almost 400 ft/lbs of torque to the wheels off the showroom floor (and comes with a burnout/line-lock feature and launch control) should have these tires on them.

    • @JCTiggs1
      @JCTiggs1 5 років тому

      Just another reason why I paid for the performance pack. The Brembo brakes, awesome Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, 3.55 gears (vs stock 3:15 for auto) and Torsen diff are all well worth the price, especially if you get it at the a-plan or x-plan price which brings it down to $3500-ish. You get a lot of that back at resale too since the PP is listed in Kelly Blue Book for around $2500 extra (wholesale price). I'm not a huge fan of the PP wheels but many people love them and are willing to pay a high price since they are Ford oem. They can easily be sold which covers the cost for a set of new aftermarket wheels. :)

    Hey man those P zeros are garbage I agree with you, I guess the track package came with the Michelin upgrade. By the way I have Mickey Thompson Street comp all the way around and I always drive with traction control and advance track turned off completely I believe that’s the only way you get to know your car but hey it’s not for everyone...

    Just did 4.6 (drag mode) in a 2018 gt premium convertible from Avis, it has the crappy 235...when i first got it (filled with 87 octane im sure smh) I did 5.5 in sport mode without even trying...now I have 93 oct in there in 4.9 & 5.1's easy... was about 77 degrees at nigh when i did the 4.6.

    235 on 460 hp car is just too small. I have a GTI that came with 225 tire. It only has 210 hp and I still thought 225 was too small.

    What’s the biggest size tie you can fit on the stock rims of the 18?

    • @OffroadNow
      @OffroadNow  6 років тому

      255 width, safely. It’s only an 8-inch wide rim. Any more than that you’re going to make the sidewalls bulge. Even some tire manufacturers produce a wider wheel than others and 255 could be an issue. So basically 245-255, depending on the manufacturer.

      Luckily an aftermarket set of wheels fixes the problem pretty inexpensively, but yeah, the PP is a solid buy. Luckily, I have a buddy that’s basically giving me his PP wheels to replace these crap rims/tires on my base, stock GT.

      Dude, they are actually WORSE than I expected. I had heard the stories, but they may be the worst tires on any V8 that is currently sold. It’s kind of the point of the video. I hesitated to put it up, but I felt I had to make a point about the tires and turning AdanceTrac all the way off.

  • @mederic999

    235s are too skinny for a 460hp car. How about the standard four piston brakes, are they any good?

    • @OffroadNow
      @OffroadNow  6 років тому +2

      They are surprisingly solid. No complaints. I had 6-pistons on my GT350 and have driven a 2018 with a Performance Package, and while I definitely feel a noticeable difference in the braking power, the 4-piston base brakes are plenty for the street.

    • @mederic999
      @mederic999 6 років тому

      Since those are EcoBoost PP brakes, they should perform better with the 19' 255 front/275 rear tires I ordered with my GT convertible. Unfortunately, they will still be P Zeros.

    • @alphazoomii9408
      @alphazoomii9408 6 років тому

      I was actually looking at getting an Ecoboost but it didn't have those tires on it, it had some Goodyear All Seasons but surprisingly they had better reviews than even those Pzeros. I didn't end up getting it, someone bought it before me so I bought a WRX instead. No regrets. I enjoy having AWD grip instead of speed I honestly can't even use here in Florida where I live. Even my car is too fast to drive hard near the palm beach gardens area. There simply is no were to really go unless I drive far away into the swamp.

    You obviously do not know how to drive and warm tires up. You'd be surprised how grippy the all seasons are. There are more than a few guys running 11's in their 2018-19 GT on all seasons.

  • @MrRaitzi
    @MrRaitzi 6 років тому

    What? 235 is stock tire width now? I have that size as winter but normal tires are 255 bridgestone potenzas all round with 2013 GT. But they are a bit old and will burn from 2nd gear on 70% acceleration from stop. I don't want grip limits to be too high but might try new tire next time. Like continental(what ever they have in that 19/255).

    • @OffroadNow
      @OffroadNow  6 років тому +1

      Yep. 235. It’s ridiculous.

    • @MasterCarguy44-pk2dq
      @MasterCarguy44-pk2dq 6 років тому +1

      Raitzi 235/50/18' (8"x18") has been stock size of mustang gt since 2011. The black appearance pack has 255/40/19's as does the brembo brake pack of 2011 to 14 and the track pack, being 8.5"x19 on blk appearance and 9"x19" on track pack, called performance pack from 2015 to current. And of course the performance pack got the 2013-14 GT500 19x9 & 19x9.5 wheels and it's 15" 6 piston frt brakes.

      My old car had 235s.....in front only. Cayman R and car had only 330 hp. Rears were 265. And pilot sports. Feels a bit silly even have 255 at back when there is 100 more hp but I like it ok. Car(13 GT) is bit wild but same time balanced. Limits are not overly high for normal driving which makes playing around bit safer.

  • @gtmike916
    @gtmike916 6 років тому +1

    Why you would buy a 400+ car and only have the 235s if you plan to run that throttle down? I would have at LEAST got the 265s or Opt'd for the Black Accent's 255s if you aren't gonna get the PP.

    • @OffroadNow
      @OffroadNow  6 років тому

      I, personally, knew these tires would be crap (and the rim width) and just had to try these out... “for science!” Haha. Meanwhile, I had wider tires and rims on the back burner until I got to try these out. Wheels/tires are always the first thing I upgrade, performance-wise... so it wasn’t a big deal to me to buy the car with these wheels, but man... what a hazard they are for people that are stuck with them for a while.

    • @JCTiggs1
      @JCTiggs1 5 років тому

      You're right about the crappy 235 tires but the 2018+ GT's are making closer to 485+ hp and 450+ ft lb at the crank with 93 octane. Ford probably under-rated the numbers to protect the GT350 and ensure there's a big enough power gap between the two engines (at least on paper anyway).

  • @abdulrahmanaljohani5123
    @abdulrahmanaljohani5123 6 років тому +1

    I am sure you can do better than that with better tires because 2011 to 2014 v6 can do 0 to 60 in 5 second 🎊🤓

      Those are some great times in comparison. I have not truly made a proper attempt at getting a valid 0-60 time but I can't seem to get in the 5s when i'm '"playing around". This video just made getting a valid 0-60 time my next goal.
