They know where your attention is focused and how to get that attention on them. A great thing about cats is how much less attention they need, or want, for that matter, than dogs. Since it really is such little time, I try to never ignore there requests. By the way I do love dogs too, And I would absolutely have a couple, if I had the real time they need. Looking forward to dogs when( if I can afford to) retire.👍
My little girl was found all by herself in a parking lot at midnight all dirty, malnourished, and crying. She was roughly 3-5 weeks old when she came into my care and on the verge of death but I worked hard to nurse her back to health. For two weeks, I'd wake up to her in a heap at my feet, barely able to move and some days she seemd to be giving up but she pulled through with much support and after two weeks, she started to get her strength and pretty soon, she was eating and drinking on her own. She turned out to be a sweetheart with a feisty side and boy does she get zoomies like spit n' vinegar. She loves life and she displays 100% of these attributes which means I'm a proud mama. She's a little over a year old now and her vet said she's one healthy gal at our most recent visit. ❤
I was never a cat person, always a dog person. But I found a stray kitten probably only a few weeks old and I kept him. He acts like a dog but he does ALL those signs. There are times when we're sleeping and he'll basically lay on my face or BREATHE into my ear. It's so annoying but I know he loves me. He always chooses me over everyone else.
My Tabby does all these things especially following me and chattering/meowing. Some days we have full on conversations, and most of the time she starts them.
i lowkey hate how my cat follows me around bc then i feel guilty for laying in bed for too long or sleeping in kfjdjd she literally doesnt leave my room until i do
Yeah it's weird sometimes, that we can actually understand what our little furry companions want when they talk but it does happen. They do understand us better than we think they do I'm willing to bet. Try having a dog that can literally spell certain words, I seriously had a dog that could understand the meaning of certain letters put together, that is pretty rare, even for a smart dog. She could talk a little as well, you could hear her frustration in trying to enunciate certain words, she did try so hard. As close to a human as a dog could possibly be, we even had a spot at the dinner table for her. She would just sit very polite and wait for her dinner plate, we just gave her whatever we were having. Not a good diet for a dog I know but we wanted her to enjoy her life in whatever way she wanted and she was very keen on making her own decisions. She hated leashes and didn't need one so no leashes for her except at the pet store or veterinarian. My cat might be exactly like her except for being a cat.
I am so blessed. I adopted a young cat that was found in below zero weather. He picked me out at the no kill shelter. It was love at first sight. 4 months later I got him a friend from the same shelter. She is a young black cat and was found with 5 kittens. She had a terrible cold. With lots of love and attention we nursed her back to health. With patience she overcame her many fears. They both have very different personalities and somehow they make it work. I love watching them play and love each other. I know that they both love me. My favorite moment each day is bedtime. I play their favorite Karen Carpenter song, Close To You. We all go to bed and I lay on my back. He lays on my chest and she lays on my tummy and we purr. Thank you so much for loving cats. I am glad I found you and will subscribe. Bless you.
They saved me! I got them during the pandemic. I was so bored and lonely. Adopting them is one of the smartest things I've done. Joey and Bella bring me such joy. I love them with all my heart. Your efforts to save cats makes you a hero in my mind. Bless you! @@Crystalitaly
@@jamesclouse9947 yeah man. That’s creepy af. I had just taken mine from her birth mother (my friends cat). So I understood the behavior. She stopped after a few nights of trying.
A few years ago the cats I'd known since I was born passed away (two of them reached 22 years old and the third was only around 15 but got cancer). Sometimes I like to watch videos like this and reminisce about how much those girls must have trusted and loved me and my family.
I have had three cats make it to 15. A respectable age since they were outdoor cats. One could rival any dog in terms of affection. Another was a former stray that took up with my family, with him passing just last month. The third one was a beautiful calico from my childhood who I think rubbed off on the friendly cat.
@@Apollo1989V had a calico too. She was born when I was 14. She was awesome. Sweet and loving yet absolutely bad ass. Some heartless, human error message purposely killed her. My mom is such a chill person but I thought she was going to end a life that night. I've always hoped that Karma bit her where it hurt hardest. The kitty was so loved. Not just from our family but the neighbors too. For DAYS the children would come ask what happened. That was heartbreaking. RIP Lucy. You are still loved and missed.
My soon to be ex wife got a cat. I'm the one that spent time with her everyday, played with her, talked to her and meowed and chattered with her, pets and biscuits, and fed her. She stayed with me every day when I was home. When the wife started fights with me Belled would follow me to my room even though the wife would call her. The wife was constantly trying to keep Bell from staying with me by locking her in her room. The wife moved out and took her away and left HER dogs. Now I miss belle being here with me. I used to say "I love you belle" and she would honestly try to say it back to me. She was my furry best friend.
My Miss Monica did this but only with me &/or my daughter. Not ever with male humans. She passed away @ the ripe old age of 23 or 24. It’s been well over 10 years since she passed away.
This makes me very happy. I've been feeding an outside cat for a few years now and he does a lot of these things. Shows his belly, gives love bites, very talkative and even taking short naps on my sidewalk next to me
@@kayganley7848 Trust me I tried but he just can't handle how small my house is. We already have three inside cats and the girl is mean to cats she doesn't know. He stayed inside for a few days after we took him to the vet once and he has not dared come near the front door since
Outside cats have much shorter lifespans than domestic, indoor cats. Get that cat indoors, trained to use a litterbox, and in due course get your cat to a vet, for shots and neutering. You are missing the true love of a cat "buddy" and your cat will reward you with years of extended life for both of you.
@@blueeyeswhitedragon9839 I know and it breaks my heart to know I might not have as long as I wish with him but it has been made very clear by my family that our house is too small for another cat. I've thought about asking my mom to take him to a shelter so he can have a nice warm home but he doesn't do well with new people or places. He has all his shots and is neutered, he's gone to the vet a few times recently too and they say he's healthy and I make sure to check on him and his sister at least every other day
I just adopted a 2 month old and a 3 month kittens from my local animal shelter. I have a huge German Shepherd with the sweetest and most calm disposition I’ve ever witnessed in any dog over the years. I think it will be a week tomorrow and already the older cat is lying on my lap purring away with her truly big brother lol laying within inches! The 2 month old little girl will just need a little more time acclimating. Love your channel! ❣️
I rescued my last cat from a shed at a woodshop I worked at, had him for nearly nine years. He definitely saw me as his parent. Been missing him every day since 15/11/2019. RIP, Buddy. We'll meet again one day.
Thank you for such a heartwarming comment! It's true, our feline friends bring so much joy and love into our lives, and it's wonderful to be able to share that experience with others. I'm glad to hear you'll be trying the recommendations. . Best wishes to you and your kitty! 🐱❤️🐾
oh wow lol i just realized I posted my comment on the wrong video lmao. I meant to post this on another youtuber who used her real face and voice talking about the best cat foods.....hahahaha@@jdemuro1
You should take him in if you can. I did so with one of my 2 cats, one of the best decisions of my life. The love she gives is unmatched, despite being a stray for most of her life (Probably), she has such a kind and great personality.
Ideally, would you be able to get him in a carrier and take to a vet or shelter to be scanned for a microchip? In case he would be chipped and may be missing, and have someone searching for him. Most cats aren't chipped, but I would be devastated if mine somehow escaped my place and I never found them. Mine are chipped, and it is the right thing to do to potentially find the owner. Some people abandon their cats that are chipped and registered, someone finds and scans, vet or shelter calls to inform of finding their kitty, and owner wants nothing to do with them. Other scenarios as well, but it is a step that should be taken if possible. Or to ask a rescue org if someone can help you by coming to you and kitty with a scanner. Can you tell if he/she is spayed or neutered? Regardless of anything else, it is vital for spay neuter. Some vets or rescues may help with that, offer low cost, or be able to refer to to options. I know it's a lot, but I have networked with so many people who do this to prevent unwanted litters, spreading of illnesses, etc. You can always search online for rescue organizations near you, no-kill shelters and individuals who also may help. It's awesome he trusts you! It's a sincere compliment!
My little boy, Lucca, says “mum” and “I love you.” It’s so cute. My cat is my baby, and he’s the boss. However he’s the one who I cry with, laugh with and tell all my secrets.
When I rescued my Claire '-Grace she always said NO! So happy I was able to rescue her and never another NO! She is my baby, best friend and I love her so much, she's 17 now and I have done my best to take impeccable care of her!
Watching this with my furbaby sleeping next to me in bed. Sounds like she sees me as a parent 😊. She’s a indoor cat. She loves it when I tickle her pads on her paws. She’s always around me. She has a certain meow she only does for me I call it her mumma meow. She’s not very playful with the expensive toys but loves to chase a piece of string. She only takes her food when I tell her to, (I never keep her waiting more than 15 seconds) she comes when she’s called, she’s very obedient. If she’s doing something she shouldn’t be and I tell her no, she stops. She meets me at the door when I come home and does her mumma meow. I love her to pieces. She makes me heart melt 😻
It's so heartwarming to read about the special bond you share with your furbaby. The unique "mumma meow" and the way she waits for your signal to eat truly shows the deep connection and mutual respect between you two. Cats have their own ways of expressing love, and it's evident she sees you as her safe haven and guiding figure. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful glimpse into your life with her. May you both continue to cherish and enjoy each other's company! 🐾❤️😊

This video is very good and all quite correct in all its details, and subtleties, as it is true that cats give cues, whether they are experiencing comfort or discomfort, and cats give cues to their cat parent companions... We, however, must be acutely attentive and observant and take action to help our cats ... or disease processes may continue and worsen if issues are present. Always note that all cats hate loud noises, sudden noises, and all cats dislike aggressive petting or to be ignored... acknowledge cats with eyes, words, and genuine praise. Never play favorites, with the cats in one's home, so make efforts to give equal attention and love; pets and kisses to all the homecats, at the same time. Accept and respect that cats need private time, private rest spots, very clean water and litterboxes, as cats dislike smells of pee/poo and certain trash odors in kitchens. Yes, all cats are particular about subtle things and it's best to maintain a clean, safe, nurturing home for yourselves with your cats. As every cat is unique, the efforts are ours, as their parent guardians, to promote their health, happiness, and longevity... Enable them to appreciate being indoor cats, to not feel the need to hunt to bring "presents"; rather, gently, calmly, and with sensitive, sensible steps, reassuring them. Cats are best supervised outdoors and to prevent roaming, which endangers them, keep them if needed on harness and free to walk about the fenced yard. Take them for vet examination and blood tests to determine issues and abnormal enzymes that need correction through vet diets and meds. Love the unique sensitive sentient intelligence of cats; they reciprocate affection with attention and nurturing.
@@alanbraganza7020 Absolutely! Every point you mentioned is crucial for understanding and caring for our feline companions. The more we tune in to their needs and behaviors, the stronger our bond becomes with them. Prioritizing their health and well-being not only ensures a happier life for them but also enriches our lives in return. Thank you for sharing such thoughtful insights on cat care and highlighting the importance of regular vet checks. 🐱❤🙌
I always leave my pjs on the bed for Penny (14) to curl up on. Cody (12) gives me a _thorough_ -- ow! -- face washing every few days. Little Hope (9 mos) brought _me_ a toy to play fetch the very first time. And now that the temps are cooler, they all pile on top of me at night. They're stuck like glue in the morning. I wouldn't have it any other way! 😻💕🥰
I have 2 stray cats I take care of, they actually show these signs like having their tails up and playful bites and all the other stuff that you mentioned. But it’s also good to learn more facts!
Great video, few months ago I had a strange dream , I saw my ginger cat 🐈 trying to talk to me but it was like watching a sci-fi movie because his “ human “ voice like a synthetic Voice that was lagging behind his mouth moving and it was extremely surreal and otherworldly, I thought he never moved his mouth like that in the real life but I was wrong because almost every time I come out of the bathroom, I now can see that he is moving his mouth as though he’s trying to talk to me! He also rubbed his head against the toilet door frame as he moved his mouth ! I really can’t see any difference between cats and a lot of other animals and humans. They’re capable of very deep feelings and probably more psychic than any human beings.
My 3 yr old shy female talks to her older brother cat all the time. He's always been like a mommy to her since we took her in as a feral @ 5 weeks old. She will go through the house yelling for him and when she gets to our bed where he usually is she does several little high baby like meows as she walks up to him and he pulls her in and starts cleaning her. Most loving male I've ever had
That's absolutely adorable! Every cat is unique and it sounds like yours has quite the adventurous spirit. It's always heartwarming to see felines breaking the typical cat behavior mold. Enjoy those special moments with your furry co-pilot! 🐱🚗💨
1:05 My Trixie is big into love bites. Unfortunately, she doesn't know how to moderate biting power between "love bite" and "kill bite" very well... She also loves to use my wrist as a pillow when taking a nap.
That's so sweet! It sounds like your kitten has truly found her safe haven with both of you. Sleeping between you two signifies her trust and affection towards both of you, as well as her desire to be close to her favorite humans. Those nighttime cuddles under the blankets are special moments of bonding and trust-building.
Hats off to a perfect explanation of play biting. I just want to enphasize the difference for new cat owners and those less familiar with cats. Nbbling/play bites are a gentle gnawing without putting much pressure. However, it isn't unusual for a cat to declare play over with a bite that has a bit more pressure. There isn't enough pressure to draw blood, but enough pressure to let you know that is the next step if play doesn't stop. The video is correct. This slight pressure increase should indicate "stop play" and you are the cause of your own suffering if you don't. There is nothing wrong with this and just how cats communicate. The video is also correct there are different reasons a cat will choose to "stop play".
My cat eats near me cuz he's constantly trying to steal food from me. I'll never forget the time he swiped my steak off my plate and we did 3 rounds in the living room until he finally dropped it. Cats...
Kneading, or making biscuit, with a bit of claw. It usually shows the white of their eyes. Snoring, after they purr to deep sleep on top of your left side, near your heart. Cats love is the best.
My flame point goes into the catio we have for our cats and always brings me bugs and meows to let me know I got a gift. It's so funny seeing what he brings to me. When it rains I sometimes get a worm.
Fuuny, I never realized it before but my cats follow me around 24/7. If I am working, they are right next to me on the couch, when I sleep they sleep on me.
my two rescue kittens do all these things. born in september. i have had them the whole time when i found them I think they really do see me as their parent. its good to know theyre happy and that they trust me
Gotta love cats. They're the only animals that can get away with the sentiment "here's the corpse of a rat - I love you." 😂 *[Edit]* Upon further reflection, I realized that there are two errors in my comment. Not only does it not have to be a rat, it also doesn't necessarily have to be a corpse *yet.* Maybe it's a dead lizard, maybe it's a wounded bird that they caught and brought to you still breathing, so you could share in their sociopathic glee by killing it yourself. Then again, sometimes it's just a leaf they thought you would think smelled interesting, or the decorations off your neighbor's porch that they saw you looking at one time a year ago and got the idea that you wanted them. Hell, it might even be your own sock that has been missing for so long that you've already thrown away the mate to it, and they're just bringing it back. 🤦♂️🤣 All that *really* matters is that it means "I love you," and whatever they have to trap, catch, wound, maim, murder or steal, they're *going to get their point across,* the adorable, fluffy little psychos. 🤣❤️😾
@@YezminYaseen I live in the country, so it's not uncommon for mice to get into my basement. One of my cats used to sit outside the basement door and meow at me until I opened the door to let her down there, because she considered it *her* territory, and she had to *patrol.* She would bring me dead mice and drop them at my feet or next to my bed, but if she saw me try to throw it away, she would get so mad at me. Once I realized how much it was hurting her feelings that she was sharing her kills with me and I wasn't eating them, I had absolutely no choice in the matter. ...obviously, I spent the next three years pretending to eat dead mice once or twice a week. ❤️
An orphaned kitten ended up on my farmhouse doorstep this summer. Barely 10 weeks old, she was frightened and hungry and seemed to have had no prior contact with humans. My two 17 y.o. old neutered toms guarded her while she slept in a cardboard box I'd tossed out there until she got used to me. Within a week she took over! She adopted the toms and me as her family and is the most loving and fun cat I've ever known. She does all the traits described in this video and more. On cold winter nights, I find her curled up between the two old guys snuggled together in sleep at the foot of my couch or bed. Feral kittens are the smartest and most agile! She spent so much time on top of the 10 ft. high china cabinet that I put a little pillow up there so she can survey her domain between naps!
Thank you for the i information. My Pet Son - Cat Muthumani shows all these signs. So iam very happy. We can pray to god for the well-being of all the Cats in this world. Praise the Lord.
My cats are all rescues. My only male sucks on the tip of his tail (which is permanently dark and spiked from this habit) because he was taken from his mother too soon. But he’s the most trusting, loving cat
we have 4 cats, an older lady, her son and daughter, and in between in age we got a rescue male who was found as a wild kitten/teen. he has become the most loving cuddly cat of them all, always follows us around, though he seems to have picked me as his #1. he likes nothing more than belly rubs. we are so happy he turned out so trusting and loving, though sometimes he is a massive slimeball to the point where its almost annoying:P he is also a massive blanket hog, so between my GF and him, im often left with just a sliver of the bed. wev had to get a decoy blanket he can hog, n then i have a backup for myself... edit: our younger female also gives love bites. she gets really into it sometimes so stray fingers are not safe
I had a male cat that I helped birth into the world. He would climb under my covers and lay next to my belly every night. If I cry he would run to me and sit on my feet looking out and around like what was making me cry. I lived him so much. After him I didn't get another cat till this year. I was house sitting to watch the animals while my daughter and family went on vacation. The first night their young 8 months old cat, climbed into my bed and went right under the covers and slept next to my belly, just like my old cat. Well they were training this cat to be inside and outside cat, so no inside cat box. Well when they got back, I never let her outside because she was in heat. When I told them she was in heat. I got no way she is too young. Then I informed them your cat is spray the walls, oh the didn't go over very well. They didn't want to spend $300. to get her fixed. I told most likely she was already pregnant well that go well. This cat the first night behavior I was already in love her very much. Well she came home with me and 68 days later she gave birth to 5 kittens and has been the best mommy ever. Anybody have any ideas to how best to send the kittens to forever homes, that won't cause mom separation anxiety? She is so living and everyone who sees her say oh she loves you so much. She is the mist loving cat I have ever seen thanks
It's truly heartwarming to hear about the special bond you've formed with not just one, but two incredible feline companions. Regarding your current cat and her kittens, gradually introducing the kittens to their new potential homes while still at your place might help both the kittens and their mother adjust. Have potential adopters visit and spend time with the kittens at your home, so mom gets familiar with the scent and energy of their future guardians. When it's time for the kittens to leave, ensuring they have a blanket or toy with their mother's scent can also provide comfort. Meanwhile, give the mother extra attention and introduce new toys or treats to distract and comfort her. The goal is to make the transition as smooth as possible for everyone involved.
It took awhile, but I do believe my feral cat loves me. I still get attacked, not much of a purring cat but she displays several of these behaviors. 😊 She was sick and from a wild litter when I got her.

One of my cats demands belly rubs. He will push my keyboard aside and push his body against me while lying on his back. He only settles down once I start gently rubbing his belly.
I love this. I just found your channel. I instantly subscribed after watching this. I'm a big time cat admirer. My rescued stray void Snow, has 11 out of 14 signs. I call him my cat-dog. He follows me around and I can call him to me at anytime. The only thing he doesn't do is that he has never chittered for anything, doesn't bring me gifts and has only given me a few licks for the 6+ years we've known each other. I've known dozens of cats in my life and he is the most amazing of all of them!
My older cat ignores this bright red dice. But when I’m in another room I hear the clatter of a dice rolling on the floor. He just bats it around a couple of times but ignores it in my presence.
Cats are adorable ❤️ I once had a cat. She used to purr deeply as I carried her in my arms. Loved it ❤ Once I mistakenly dropped her on the floor. Shocked and bewildered, she just stared at me with heartbroken eyes. The next day, she was gone. She never returned back home. Cats are adorable, but so unpredictable and unforgiving too.
Speaking of chattering, my female cat was just doing just that, chattering to me to let me know that a fly got into the house. She hates flies as much as I do and I hate them just as much as she does. 🤔😂🤣😂
I got a cat way back when I was 15 or 16 and she was probably the best cat I've ever had and I've had 2 and she was my second one and I got her from a pet store in Florida and I had her for almost 17 years. Sadly she I had to put her down due to a cancer growth back I think in 2006 I think. She loved sitting on my chest when she was a kitten and I would make a meow sound she would do it back. she was pretty much always by my side and always slept with me at night. She was the best mouse and bird catcher I've ever seen. I miss her so much. I don't know how but she never gained weight she stayed her normal weight even as she got older like some cats do when they age. I remember when I was 18 and I was driving to Minnesota from Florida she actually slept in the hood of my hoodie pretty much the whole way. I have so many great memories of her that I will never forget.
Regarding chattering and meowing, my girlfriends cat is by far the loudest and most talkative cat I have ever seen. I swear it’s like she not only understands English, but also speaks it. She has different types of meows for different contexts. If she’s not feeling well or is about to get sick she’ll meow once in a very deep tone. My girlfriend will also talk to her cat a lot and her cat (xena) will meow back at her, even mimicking her volume and inflection. My girlfriend will purposely say things in a high or low pitch and her cat will actually change its meow accordingly. When my girlfriend is at work, xena will often wonder around the apartment and “cry”. I’ll get up and go over to her and ask “what’s wrong” and I swear to god it sounds like she says mama. It’s like she has a distinct meow just to refer to “her mother”. If we scold her for something she’ll meow back at us at high volume. It literally sounds like she’s yelling back at us. I’ve known many cats throughout my life but never have I met one that was so talkative and seemed to actually respond in a way that makes it seem like she understands everything you say. Meanwhile my cat looks at me like I’m an idiot any time I talk to her. Lol she also bites me incredibly hard, not because she doesn’t like me but because that’s how I trained her to play. She never cared for toys so instead I just wrestle with her and she seems to enjoy it but she will bite and scratch the shit out of me with zero regard for how much it hurts. She’s very friendly most of the time but when she wants to play then it’s pretty certain that she’s gonna draw blood. Lol
When my cat plays too hard in my hand, I say no or I pull my hand away for a few moments and give it a minute before we start playing again. She got the idea over time that if she bites too hard, playtime is over. And if she ever swipes at my feet I ignore her completely, that curbes that behavior real quick
My rescue does all of this for me. She even simulates the words me and my hubby use and recognizes many important words. Also she comes to me when I call her. She looks a lot like a black cat on your video.

Wow, my Kitten does everything but bring a gift to me. Every time she walks into my room, her tails straight up & she makes a little meow. She’s currently 5months old & has been waking me up lately by rubbing her head against mine while she’s all purry. She’s been grooming our oldest cat lately & it’s funny, because he’s the one we where concerned wouldn’t take to her & now they’re best buds! She grooms me at times, play fights with me, follows me literally everywhere I go ( including the bathroom ). Every time I scoop the box, she’ll pee right after as if she’s more comfortable going while I’m there or she’s a neat freak. She sleeps with me anytime I’m in my bed & she’ll lay on her back with her legs stretched out 😂 Anything I’m eating, she has to try it & when she couldn’t get too it, she climbed up our cat tree & started jumping onto my Back/Shoulder lol. Once she knew she could do that, she does it constantly like she’s a Parrot on someone’s Shoulder. While I’m on my IPad, she’ll swipe at anything that catches her attention. We named her Precious, but I call her Freshy. I seriously think she thinks I’m her parent. I saw someone in the comments say there Cat goes for rides & another saying they walk there’s. Always wanted to take her for a walk since she loves our bay window
My pets know when I'm heading to sleep, they run to the door and look back just to be sure. I say " Okay, sleepy time" , they run up and get into my bed. Its so sweet.
After owning six cats, that were all individually wonderful pets, I FINALLY have a cat that thinks I'm the bees knees! He does lots of every single thing you show in your video. His "Love Bites" and letting me caress his tummy is my favorite. Also, when he sits next to me, he MUST be touching me with one of his paws! He was from a cat rescue project. We picked him up when he was about 5-6 months old. The second he saw me, he reached out to me with both his paws. A week later, we got to take him home. I'm the one that cuddled him on the 20 mile scary trip home. Perhaps THAT was the original bonding moment? What ever it was, he is glued to me, night and day and cries like a baby every morning for 5 minutes, when I have to go to work. He is quite a gentle loving 1 year old cat now. His name is Gilmour.
My cat only meows when she wants something or when I first get home, especially if I'm gone exceptionally long. She only chatters at birds, but everything else she does, including following me EVERYWHERE. If I get up to get some water she jumps off the couch shortly after I get up and is in the kitchen with me. Then regardless of what room I'm in, she follows me to it and lays down somewhere in the room. And if she comes up to with her tail in the air, it's playtime. And her favorite place to sleep is exactly where I lay or a paper bag I gave her to play with. And her favorite toy is a mouse we play fetch with or a puppy teething rope that she frequently drops in front of me. She's also the sassiest cat I've ever seen and will nip if I talk to her for more than 5 seconds. Had her since she was 3 weeks and I never thought I'd like cats.
When I moved in with my girlfriend she already had two cats, one was born in a loving home and never knew the danger of the streets and the other appeared in her doorstep during the night, the cat that was born indoors HATED me, was very jealous of me when my girlfriend showed me afection while the cat that came from the street opened up to me quickly, I thought for a long time that she would always be like that towards me wich made me very sad, I love cats and really wanted her to like me, one day by some kind of miracle she climbed onto my lap and started to groom me today she sleeps next to my pillow every night and comes running towards me when I call by her name! Never give up on cats, it's difficult to earn they trust but when you do it's one of the best feelings in the whole world!
I'm so sorry for your loss. Losing a beloved companion, especially one as loyal and close as Scratch, is heart-wrenching. It's truly a testament to your love for feline friends that you've opened your heart to two more cats. While they can never replace Scratch, they can bring new joy and memories. Grieving takes time, but with each day, the pain will soften, replaced by cherished memories of your time with her. 🌹💔
My lovely Lady was born an alley cat (tldr: Mom was taken before she was weaned so we took her in.) sos he never really meows, she chirps. Right now shes sleeping on my desk right next to me, belly out and knocked out cold. We have her food dish inour kitchen, and theres always someone in there so she 's almost never alone unless we're in bed. I took care of her when she was little, so she finds my room as her safest spot to sleep and relax, her love language is bumping her head against out chins, asking for kisses. I hope Lady knows how lucky we are to have her ;; and her us.
My 9 month old kitten comes to me around 8.30pm ... she jumps up on the arm of the sofa, miaows at me until I stroke her, sticks her bum in the air, that's my cue to give her a good scratch ... then she rolls over, exposes her belly for me to rub, then as she's falling asleep I do the toe beans on all four paws, a good massage of all her tootsies and she's well away ... she absolutely loves it. It's also very relaxing for me. She's now completely stretched out beside me with her arms right above her head and he legs stretch out straight. She looks like a ballet dancer!
My old cat picked me out at the shelter. He followed me out of his cage and yelled at me for stopping letting him. Staff there said he had neve done that with anyone
That's truly heartwarming! 😻 Sometimes, our furry friends choose us in the most unexpected and magical ways. It sounds like your cat knew right away that you were meant to be together. 🐾❤️ It's incredible how animals can sense such deep connections. The shelter staff must've been amazed! 🌟🐈
I've had a lot of cats in my life until now and have only been blessed with love from all of them. I adored their unique personalities and different ways in which they display their affection. The cat I have now is quite verbal and has this sweet and adorable coo, which sounds a lot like a Guinea pig. This is how she lets me know she is comfortable and happy. She also displays her love for me with cuddles. She doesn't just plop down beside me on the bed. She makes sure to be able to rest her head on my foot or hand. Warms my heart when she does it. She's also very well behaved. Not once since I adopted her has she tossed things off or go where she's not allowed. She does scratch my couch, but that's because I allow it and don't really care. She also doesn't bite or scratch me. She plays mindful, making sure not to hurt me. Fun fact about the grooming, it's not just a way they show their love. It has two other reasons. For one, they don't like the smell of your products and groom you to get rid of that smell. That's why, if your cat grooms you, it's important to make sure that you don't use products that can be harmful to them. I use natural skincare products to avoid this. Secondly, it's their way of making you too, as they have claimed you as their human and want to make sure that other cats (or dogs) are aware of this. My mom has cats and a dog, so when I come back home from a visit, my cat immediately goes to rub herself against me and then starts to groom me, as I have the scent of those other animals on me. Your scent is also very meaningful to them. If you're worried about leaving your cat for a few days, make sure too keep some dirty laundry of yours available before leaving and put them where your cat tends to sleep. This will comfort them.
Shadow definitely sees me as her parent, you've described a lot of her behavior. Of course I encourage that by nuzzling her head with my chin, as if I'm grooming her. (She reciprocates by licking my beard for minutes on end.) I also love play fighting with her, using my hand to imitate her moves, scratching her belly the same way she uses her hind legs to kick at my wrist, (but with her claws undrawn to not scratch me. She also clamps her jaws around my finger, but doesn't bite.) She'll stop dead and begins licking me to let me know she's just playing, and I switch to petting her to let her know "me(ow) too."
Cute, the behaviour you describe is exactly like my cat too. Including the clamping my finger and then licking me. Mine is named Stink, I pick him up and carry him around sometimes and I will "mess up his hair" (basically ruffle the hair on his head and his ears), this will often trigger play mode in him where he'll start biting me then licking me. Sometimes when i pick him and he's feeling really ornery he'll bite me and lick me to get me playing with him. He's the most social/people person cat I have ever had. The rest were loners who only tolerated people lol
I have a rescue cat from a local shelter, i got him like almost 2 months ago. They warned me at the shelter that hes going to be stand-off ish and to not write him off because of that. I never was going to, but after like 3 weeks he would carefully play with me, at week 5 or so i would wake up because i softly kicked him by accident 'cause he would sneak in to my bed when i was sleeping and now he gets really playful when i give him some attention. I can only guess what the next big change is going to be. Cats are amazing creatures.
I cat speak all the time. Not only to my cats but my friends cats too. They are always like wtf are you doing with my cats. The kitties love it tho. Many arent used to it and have awesome reactions. One time a cat jumped on my shoulders from the floor and they have never been seen doing that before from their owners. *Wasnt an attack* lol but meowing def could provoke one from the wrong cat
Every cat I’ve ever raised has always turned out to be OVER THE TOP loving. They always want to be held, get kisses, HAVE to sleep on me as long as I’m sitting or laying down, follow me in every room, and just making eye contact is enough for them to come over. I always thought I just got lucky with good cats until I had to foster a male cat for my friend who moved to a different state until she was ready to come get him and he was always the most shy and unloving cat. Here we are 2 months later and he acts just like mine do so now I’ve got a constant train of 4 cats following me wherever I go and I always have a minimum of 3 with me weather I’m sleeping, pooping, cooking, etc 😂 I’m not quite sure what I’m doing right besides treating them like spoiled rotten kids but I guess maybe that’s the key? 😅❤
You guys should probably work on that. Sometimes as humans we try to hard to befriend our cats when really they just want their person to sit in silence with them. I have a couple that want love, but for one reason or another can’t/don’t communicate it but they appreciate my silent presence none the less. After a little while they open up. It’s a process!
Mine still attacks me when he s bored or when i tell him that he s bad. Then he puts his teeth in my leg or arm ..Dont now how to cure this behaviour 😢
@@jennyabete7469 does he have any forms of enrichment other than you? Treat toys, lots of scratching posts, etc. They could just have a lot of pent up energy that is resulting in outbursts!
It sounds like Loki is more than just a pet; she's a true companion and a source of joy for you. 😊 There's something special about the bond between a human and their feline friend that can genuinely lift your spirits. 🐾💖 It's clear that both of you are lucky to have each other. May your life together continue to be filled with love, cuddles, and lots of cheerful moments! 🌟😻💋 xxxx
I adopted my first cat a couple months ago. She displays every single trait on this list, so i guess im doing a good job :] Now if only shed stop biting through cardboard to get at her treats... im gonna have to get a steel can...
My cat will sometimes bring me one of his fabric mouse toys and we play fetch together. He brings it over, I throw it away, he brings it back. The lengths of time we play it vary depending on his mood. We all know how cats are. If he is done, he is done, lol!
It started out strangely here mine walks with a toy in his mouth and meows he started doing that on his own till realized hey hes trying to get me to throw it for him he doesn't bring it back right away mind you he bats it around a moment before he brings it back when he feels like it
I really need to put out a video series of my story. Long story short (well, I tried): When I was a teen, I taught my old man cat how to say "hello", "num-num", and "wadah". Why? Because I read that cats can make over 100 different sounds. I thought, "Why couldn't they learn a few words, then?" I looked at my old man cat and thought, "Who said you can't teach an old cat new tricks?" Thus, I taught him three words. But that wasn't all. A few cats and many years later, my current old lady cat has blown me away with all that she's learned. She has surpassed all other cats I've ever had, partly because she's so smart and human-oriented, mostly because I generally underestimated the tiny brains of cats. She's taught me that cats can be smarter than you realize, but it depends on the cat, how old they are when you start teaching them, and how observant they are. She even gave a nickname to our newest feline addition to the family, and calls her over and tells her when she wants to play. Most recently, I witnessed her walk into the room just to tell her she was going to use the bathroom! She walked in, looked at her, said "Vel? ...Ba-hrmm", left the room, and I heard her in the litter box a moment later. I had to hold myself so bad from laughing or exclaiming, "What did I just watch!?" She blows me away. She's learned an overflowing handful of words, many of which she stopped using in her old age, but she's always eager to learn another thing. Earlier this year, in January 2023, I accidentally taught her how to nod for "yeah" and in acknowledgement. I was tired and she asked me to prep her favorite soft food. Mom was planning to prep it after making dinner, and I was too tired to talk much. So, instead of saying a sentence she understands, I simply hoped she would understand when I nodded and said "yeah". I really just wanted to nod, but she had to at least know what the action meant. She looked at me with bright eyes keen interest. I knew that look. I could see her absorbing it with her big stare. I repeated it. Maybe she wouldn't need me to promise her food would come and explain what Mom was doing and when, then? (She didn't used to be insisting, but I guess impatience comes with age.) A day or more later, I said something, and she nodded. She freaking still nods! Like when she sits between the cupboard and the fridge and points at the cupboard with her ear and says "caaa'nih" (catnip), and I ask, "Oh. Sweetie catnip?" She. nods. her. head. I need to capture it on camera. But how...? Maybe I need to start recording and then ask her something...? Otherwise, I may never get the chance. She's 12 years old now, and you never know what will happen.
My cat definitely sees me as her employee, and I get the feeling I'm permanently one mistake away from getting fired.
Lol
Let me guess you are one of those hoemans they always talk about on cat videos
😂😂😂that's hilarious
😂😂😂😂😂😂 that means your one can away from being fired by your cat
Lol
My cats have an incredible knack for sitting on the object I need at that exact moment.
It's a well known fact cats are mind readers... 😊
This made me lol. Right before I’m about to sit down it’s like my cat knows. Or I’ll stand up to get a drink and he will take my chair and stare at me
They know where your attention is focused and how to get that attention on them.
That literally helps my husband find his wallet.
They know what we are thinking🤔
I hope she'll stay with you for a long long time.🥰
Aww.. Blessings to you & your kitty! ❤❤❤😊😊😊
That's the Baby ❤🎉😂
Wonderful how you cared for her and she got well. They are so funny when they get the zoomies.
I feel like you would make a good human mama also just by the way you speak of your cat
We recently adopted a 5 year old female from the pound almost 2 weeks ago and she already displays theses traits to us. 💚 Vera is just too precious
Love from a rescue furbaby is so rewarding! When they feel safe and loved, their joy is a delight to share.
You’ll never pee alone.
Always
She can be asleep under a blanket on the other side of the house while I tip-toe to the bathroom, and before I can sit down, she's right at my feet.
Said Liverpool 😂
Yep.. mine too.. middle of night visits… 😂😂😂
Truth!
I woke up an our kitten kept wanting to sleep on my daughter's eyes lol like an eye sleep patch kept me up all night
My Tabby does all these things especially following me and chattering/meowing. Some days we have full on conversations, and most of the time she starts them.
My cat Eliah likes to talk to me at night when he is in the Mood to play, and how could I not comply with his wishes?
Mine does them too except for gifts, I don't know why he doesn't give us gifts but I love him anyways
i lowkey hate how my cat follows me around bc then i feel guilty for laying in bed for too long or sleeping in kfjdjd she literally doesnt leave my room until i do
Yeah it's weird sometimes, that we can actually understand what our little furry companions want when they talk but it does happen.

I never thought I'd love cats this much
I have never experienced love bites until I got my current cat. It is so sweet.
Sometimes it’s tiny bites followed by licks or “kisses”, ❤
My kitten was licking my nose last night, followed by a surprise "chomp" back to licking
My cat bites me all the time... so hard that it breaks my skin, it growls while doing so
@@biggestpoufan1727 I recommend you consult the vet to talk about this behavior and what to do to stop it. It's not normal.
@@biggestpoufan1727 did you get your cat as a very small kitten? being very rough is kittenish behavior, sometimes they don't grow out of it
I'm definitely my Cats Mom. She follows me everywhere...and looks straight into my eyes when she wants me to caress her.
Oh gosh samee
If you look at her and blink, does she blink back?
Cats love us more than we think
Bless you.
that is so cute!! i can tell your cats are very happy with you as their caretaker :)

A few years ago the cats I'd known since I was born passed away (two of them reached 22 years old and the third was only around 15 but got cancer). Sometimes I like to watch videos like this and reminisce about how much those girls must have trusted and loved me and my family.
I'm so sorry! Lost my 18 year old boy last year. It's so hard.
You should swing by a shelter! Pick up a new friend

Cats are the best pets to keep by a country mile. They are so cute and beautiful and require very little work I simply adore them
My soon to be ex wife got a cat.
You can always adopt another kitty. The shelters are over full. Save a life.
Evil to take away Belle cuz she liked you better 😑
Sorry to hear that.

My Miss Monica did this but only with me &/or my daughter. Not ever with male humans. She passed away @ the ripe old age of 23 or 24. It’s been well over 10 years since she passed away.

I do this with my cat a lot. He seems to like when I spread his fingers and rub the little webs 😊❤
This makes me very happy. I've been feeding an outside cat for a few years now and he does a lot of these things. Shows his belly, gives love bites, very talkative and even taking short naps on my sidewalk next to me
You need to make that outside cat into an inside cat. He loves you and deserves it.
He has all his shots and is neutered, he's gone to the vet a few times recently too and they say he's healthy and I make sure to check on him and his sister at least every other day

Very important information for cat lovers, thanks for taking the time to post.
Thank you so much for the appreciation! 🐾❤

I have 2 stray cats I take care of, they actually show these signs like having their tails up and playful bites and all the other stuff that you mentioned. But it’s also good to learn more facts!
Great video, few months ago I had a strange dream , I saw my ginger cat 🐈 trying to talk to me but it was like watching a sci-fi movie because his “ human “ voice like a synthetic
Voice that was lagging behind his mouth moving and it was extremely surreal and otherworldly, I thought he never moved his mouth like that in the real life but I was wrong because almost every time I come out of the bathroom, I now can see that he is moving his mouth as though he’s trying to talk to me!
I just got my first kitten a week ago and she’s perfect I have 4 dogs and a cat is so life changing
hope it's going well
I miss those happy, upright tails. It’s such a sweet sight.
Kittens are growing cuter every day ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
One of my cats waits for me outside gets in my car sits in the middle like she’s a dog to take for a ride actually takes walks with me .
Awww, you are a lucky owner 😻
My cat does the same thing!
That's absolutely adorable! Every cat is unique and it sounds like yours has quite the adventurous spirit. It's always heartwarming to see felines breaking the typical cat behavior mold. Enjoy those special moments with your furry co-pilot! 🐱🚗💨
❤❤❤ how cute!!
Thank you I’m grateful she makes my day all the bad been going thru she actually keeps me going
1:05 My Trixie is big into love bites. Unfortunately, she doesn't know how to moderate biting power between "love bite" and "kill bite" very well... She also loves to use my wrist as a pillow when taking a nap.
Reading this while my kitten is using my wrist as a pillow
Sit on your stuff
Love bite
Expose belly
Upright tail
Follow you around
Great video! Very complete, I love it!
You say they don't want belly rubs but my cat turns into melted butter when getting belly rubs.
Our kitten does all these things to both me and my wife. At night she jumps into bed and hides under our blankets or sleep directly between us.
That's so sweet! It sounds like your kitten has truly found her safe haven with both of you. Sleeping between you two signifies her trust and affection towards both of you, as well as her desire to be close to her favorite humans. Those nighttime cuddles under the blankets are special moments of bonding and trust-building.
@@Feline_Fanatics Thank you! I completely agree. I'm just so happy that she is happy and feels safe.
This makes me miss my best buddy, even more, because he did all of these, daily, and a lot more 😢
❤️
My cat literally thanks me when I tell him it's time to eat. He gives me headbutts and nose kisses.
Awww.
Awe, great to know. My baby boy does ALL of the above with me 💜💜💜🩵💙🩵
Hats off to a perfect explanation of play biting.
I am well familiar with all the behaviors you described in the video.. all my cats show these instincts, and I love them unconditionally...
They're the only animals that can get away with the sentiment "here's the corpse of a rat - I love you." 😂
*[Edit]*
Upon further reflection, I realized that there are two errors in my comment. 🤦♂️🤣
All that *really* matters is that it means "I love you," and whatever they have to trap, catch, wound, maim, murder or steal, they're *going to get their point across,* the adorable, fluffy little psychos. 🤣❤️😾
@Seven...
🤣🤣🤣🤣 so true...😂😂

I live in the country, so it's not uncommon for mice to get into my basement. One of my cats used to sit outside the basement door and meow at me until I opened the door to let her down there, because she considered it *her* territory, and she had to *patrol.*
She would bring me dead mice and drop them at my feet or next to my bed, but if she saw me try to throw it away, she would get so mad at me.
When you find good, loving homes, and the kitties are old enough, you'll know. May you can keep one and find homes for two pairs
The goal is to make the transition as smooth as possible for everyone involved.
my cat slept next to me one night on her back, and when I felt her and woke up, she was purring, and let me rub her belly.
My cat grooms me lol its so cute. It calms my cat down so much and she gets sleepy from licking me.
Amazing animals, awesome love & a gift from nature..Cats are fabulous
It took awhile, but I do believe my feral cat loves me. I still get attacked, not much of a purring cat but she displays several of these behaviors. 😊 She was sick and from a wild litter when I got her.

One of my cats demands belly rubs. He will push my keyboard aside and push his body against me while lying on his back. He only settles down once I start gently rubbing his belly.
My fuzzy boy lays down in the hallway and rolls back and forth when he wants belly rubs... it's so freakin' cute 🥰
It's surprising that my cat shows all these signs everyday and I never seemed to notice 😂😅, Thank you for that information❤.
My cat shows so much of these signs, i love it 😊
My Cat definitely loves me he does all of these things literally everyone.
My older cat ignores this bright red dice. But when I’m in another room I hear the clatter of a dice rolling on the floor. He just bats it around a couple of times but ignores it in my presence.
Cats are adorable ❤️
I once had a cat.
She used to purr deeply as I carried her in my arms.
Loved it ❤
Once I mistakenly dropped her on the floor.
Shocked and bewildered, she just stared at me with heartbroken eyes.
The next day, she was gone.
She never returned back home.
Cats are adorable, but so unpredictable and unforgiving too.
My Maine Coon Cat, shows his belly and definitely wants me to rub it. Never claws me or tries to bite, he just stretches out for more rub area!
You’ll need a broom for that when their done growing 😂
@@loopylou6841😂
Lol
Mine too. But as a kitten. Once older he learned to be gentle.
When my cat plays too hard in my hand, I say no or I pull my hand away for a few moments and give it a minute before we start playing again. She got the idea over time that if she bites too hard, playtime is over.
And if she ever swipes at my feet I ignore her completely, that curbes that behavior real quick
If something unusual outside scares my cat, she comes running wanting picked up, then she wants to be carried back to see what scared her
My rescue does all of this for me. She even simulates the words me and my hubby use and recognizes many important words. Also she comes to me when I call her. She looks a lot like a black cat on your video.
Cats are adorable ❤️

She sleeps with me anytime I’m in my bed & she’ll lay on her back with her legs stretched out 😂
Anything I’m eating, she has to try it & when she couldn’t get too it, she climbed up our cat tree & started jumping onto my Back/Shoulder lol.
That's precious!
My cat makes a cawing sound when she wants breakfast. She doesn't do it for dinner.
I just lost my cat she was sweet sixteen. I’m still grieving. Scratch.she never left my side. I got 2?others now, it helps and we are bonding.💔
My condolences so sorry
Same, lost my marbles for a while when it happened, so sorry ❤
My lovely Lady was born an alley cat (tldr: Mom was taken before she was weaned so we took her in.) sos he never really meows, she chirps.
Right now shes sleeping on my desk right next to me, belly out and knocked out cold. We have her food dish inour kitchen, and theres always someone in there so she 's almost never alone unless we're in bed.
I took care of her when she was little, so she finds my room as her safest spot to sleep and relax, her love language is bumping her head against out chins, asking for kisses.
I hope Lady knows how lucky we are to have her ;; and her us.
I’ve always assumed the paws thing was cause cats don’t like it when we play with the toe beans, but the toe beans are just so irresistible!
@@GraceKirk-k8ythat’s massaging them, not playing with them. There’s a difference.
My cats see me as their mom! Yes! ❤ They are my babies for sure ❤️ I adore my cats. This thing I feel for them is bigger than life.
You have a very grateful cat, thanks for the rescue. I wish everyone would rescue and not buy from cruel breeders!
You've got yourself a Mama's boy lol
My cat definitely sees me as her employee, and I get the feeling I'm permanently one mistake away from getting fired.
2:06 bro is done
No lie on number one. Always knew he brought a gift home when my mom gave me the middle name holler from the back door lol.
Am I the only one that meows back at their cat 😂?
I cat speak all the time.
Not only to my cats but my friends cats too. They are always like wtf are you doing with my cats. The kitties love it tho. Many arent used to it and have awesome reactions. One time a cat jumped on my shoulders from the floor and they have never been seen doing that before from their owners. *Wasnt an attack* lol but meowing def could provoke one from the wrong cat
No! 😊
From the thumbnail I thought it was like, if your cat disembowels you it's showing the utmost respect.
My cats LOVE belly rubs.
My cat doesn't like me.
@mr.iforgot3062 It's cause you're Putin.
Mine either 😢
If a cat repeatedly tries to claw your eyes out, it’s because your gaze fills it with so much love that they lose control.
My cat always eats more when I am standing near him. He definitely trusts me.
The strays I feed leaves me gifts at my doorstep😮
I absolutely adore my cat Loki she is my little buddy 😍 she really cheats me up I'm happy she is in my life 💋 xxxx
She displays every single trait on this list, so i guess im doing a good job :]
Now if only shed stop biting through cardboard to get at her treats... im gonna have to get a steel can...
My cat will sometimes bring me one of his fabric mouse toys and we play fetch together. He brings it over, I throw it away, he brings it back. The lengths of time we play it vary depending on his mood. We all know how cats are. If he is done, he is done, lol!
@Hello there, how are you doing this blessed day?
