    Great video quick and concise and i appreciate you sharing all the torque settings.
    Im thinking of doing the timing belt my self. Would you recommend for against doing it yourself for someone who has never done one before 😅?
    As the timing belt for this engine seems relatively straight forward or am i just being naive lol

    I've only ever done a subaru timing belt for a sti. That was easy. This I find difficult. What do u mean by 15nm with 90degrees? Like once reach 15nm then turn a further 90degrees?
    Thanks

    Very quick guide. Thanks.
    Q1: is it necessary to turn engine to TDC?
    Q2: Is the direction of the poly-v belt as sensitive as the direction of the cam-belt?
    (I need only to replace the coolant pump seal because it is leaking due to contaminant in the cooling system.)

      100% necessary to time the engine up to spec.. mark the aux belt in the direction you take it off, or change it while you have it stripped off

    Hi bud, got one of these engines in my 2.0 tdi 2011 a3 sline. Any idea what is causing the car to smoke quite bad for about 20 mins then clear. Changed the turbo, the injectors, egr cooler and glow plugs but still no joy. Any insight would be appreciated.

      It might be your dpf is cracked,,,,,put your finger into the end of the exhaust ,If it comes out with any soot on it at all,,,even a tiny bit,,your dpf is spanked,,

    I know this was a while ago but notice the original water pump has no freeze plug on it and the new one does ? I'm in the same situation now and I can't seem to push the waterpump flat into the block??? Wtf

    Why does the fuel pump have to be locked,,,Is this a common rail engine,,

    • @bazmeredith
      @bazmeredith  3 місяці тому

      Yes it's common rail but the pumps are timed

      If this is not timed it can lead to premature breakage of the timing belt
