      Never had problems, always run it until fan kicks in and at that point thermostat will open, check level.

    Hi stumbled across your video looking for someone who had done this engine. I recently downloaded the Haynes manual where they talk about loosening the camshaft gear wheel bolt 90 degrees after slacking off the belt via the tensioner. It the says you need to slacken off the the small torx bolt on the camshaft gear wheel (just where your locking pin goes) 180 degrees. Next step is to Loosen the high-pressure pump gearwheel bolt (90°)….do these steps need to be taken ? If not how easy was it to fit the new belt as it wasn’t shown on your video

    • @owensautotips
      @owensautotips  6 днів тому

      You can slacken them as recommended but I’ve done some without doing that and had no issues

    Great and very informative video. I believe that belt would do another 5 years at least. German Audi recommends to chang ethe belt on 133k km with no age limit. However UK audi states otherwise.

    • @owensautotips

      Each person is to they’re own and all data is different. Haynes and auto data have different intervals so all down to personal preference. But yes keep an eye out on the belt every 6-12 months and hopefully this video helps you attempt a belt change on your own 👍🏻

    I just changed my cam belt at the Audi dealer without removing the bumper or radiators, for the same DETA engine A4 B9 2016. Maybe they have new methods and tools. I removed the top plastic cover to make sure they installed the new belt and it's legit. Even gave me back the old belt, tensioner and water pump that matches the production year of the car.

    Quick question. On Audi B8 the camshaft and fuel pump both have sets of 3 bolts on them which you have to loosen prior to tensioning the belt. On B9’s that’s non existent and I’m confused as to how to address this. My car is just sitting with front end stripped because I couldn’t find any info about this. Does this means you no longer loosen the camshaft and fuel pump on these?

    • @owensautotips
