Also be sure to check out Spiff and Kevin's runs of this (see the end) - realized they had made them in the middle of this lol. Each one's neat in its own different way
Imagine being this guy's neighbor, never seeing him leave, but everyday somehow the house gets bigger and you're not sure how and then one day the house just fucking lights ablaze
I had a friend relate living in NYC to that episode of Adventure Time where their treehouse gets stolen and split into like 30 separate rentals and they got shafted into having single a ladder as an apartment. Now that's all I can think when people mention NYC rent lol
The Sims 1 is a perfect game to match AA's personality. It's surprisingly literate in classical references, sometimes philosophical, but also deeply silly and surreal.
The three 1 tile runs all have a differen energy. We have your inevitable descent into madness, the horrors of human rights violations from Kevin, an the horrors of human rights violations but wit tea from Spiff. I enjoy all three channels.
When you put it like that, the sound a lot more similar. After all, theres plenty of sims descending into madness in Kevins video, and one could say that Spiffs sim had decended into madness at the moment of their birth. Hence why they found themselves in such a situation to begin with. No sane person would even consider the one tile life.
Well, in Sims 2 you can dig for treasure and earn like that, in Sims 1 you could use a weasel and earn painting, so yeah, it's perfectly possible even without the genie lamps in my opinion
I remember one funny thing about genies: If you used moveobjects on them you can put them out in the middle of the road, etc. and they'll float there in perpetuity, constantly trying to prevent themselves from falling to the ground. Not sure if a second one pops out of the lamp though if the original genie is still there...
I'm so addicted to the Sims that I use the soundtrack as study music 🤣. I used to accomplish great things for 16 hours a day as a teen to that amazing soundtrack! My co workers laughed at me at work when I'd use it as background music lolol
I remember the summer of 2002 when the island we used to frequent every summer had one of its cottages occupied by a new family. One of their kids had brought along a laptop with some games. In my eight years, I hadn't seen one of those before. _A computer - in the archipelago?_ He then showed my siblings and me this game. I remember being awe-struck by the character creation and how we couldn't stop laughing (and marveling) at absolutely everything. Up to that point - all we knew was Macintosh point-and-click games. We begged our parents for a copy, and they blessed us with the Deluxe Edition that Christmas. 😢 Such good memories. Your Sims 1 videos are always brilliant. Thank you for making these.
I'm so glad you and Kevin are aware of one another! I actually found your channel, thanks to his Sims 4 starting with $0 challenge when he credited you for the idea. I've watched a lot of your content since then and I really enjoy it! Would love to see you and Kevin collab on a video one day, though the chaotic energy might be too much 😂
The best thing in the Sims 1 are those beautiful piano tunes. Those beautiful piano tunes that none of us wanted to listen when we were kids, because it was "boring" and couldn't appreciate. But listen now and say "damn, one of the simplest soundtracks, even with improvised parts, yet one of the best soundtracks for a "retro" game you can find. Every song is made in a way that resembles something in construction, starts simple and ends being a complex song. Brilliant"
I am slightly uncomfortable with A) How much Timothy looks like me, and B) How much him sleeping on garbage in a 3x3 cell reminds me of my college experience.
I had been meaning to watch your channel for ages but it was a reminder from Kevin in a Project Zomboid video that brought me here, I've been binging ever since. The Sims is a favorite of mine as the play styles can vary so much and each is enjoyable. Your narration always mesmerizes me, it's unique and currently my go-to videos to rewatch and play in the background as I work. The Sims 1 is so unforgiving, I can't believe you made it as far as you did. I enjoy all the content but the early Sims gameplay is exciting to see.
the sims series you've been doing are really fantastic-- please keep doing them!! it's a perfect combination of nostalgia and your narration that's so entertaining

Love the Sims 1 stuff! You should look into some of the weirder stuff you can do with the Makin' Magic pack. I remember throwing parties, turning people into toads, & seeing how many sims my pet dragon would eat! Also for every certain amount of spells cast on your lot different magic growths appear, the best one being these crystals that give your sims magical abilities (I say that cause they're like spells, but unlimited free casts) to teleport around & put out fires. Getting the magic-coins are a bit of a pain, but once you have a few sims with high logic or mechanical skills you can bring them to Magic town & perform on stage until they're all too upset to keep going. After that, you can buy the ingredients for the Get Happy spell & have them each go home to cast it on eachother before restarting the process. Not sure about a challenge, maybe start with $0, magic only? Iirc, there's a charm that gives your sims a lot of money that's made with an ingredient that costs a lot of magic coins.
I love all of your content, but specifically the Sims videos you make are incredible. My girlfriend is very picky about what she will watch on UA-cam with me but every time you upload a new Sims video she freaks out and tells me we have to watch it. I love it.
I hope u dont worry about other sims youtubers doing the same challenge- first, theres only so many challenges to do, and second its always fun to see multiple ppl try the same things and have different reactions and commentary
I found 2 rimworld mods: more floors and reinforced floors. The former gives new variations of existing floors and letting you build plasteel and jade floors, and the latter is compatible with the first, and lets you build reinforced versions of every floor that prevent infestations.
Building a blue house, at least for me, is the most Sims 1 thing ever, I was obsessed with the I'm Blue song as a wee child and would build blue houses with my friend while singing the song to no end
Early on in the Sims 1 I remember me and my Sis always made just one big simple square without any windows, lights, wallpaper or flooring only that it had a front door and furniture inside(maybe a interior room inside for the bathroom but that was it) and it was always the funnest set-up with the game because of how basic and cozy it was but later on we evolved the square design to include those things. Those were good memories, good thing I have Sims 3 installed to try that again.
I've been following your channel for a few months now and idk everytime you upload a video or vod on your second channel i get so excited to see it No matter what game your playing You have very quickly become my favorite youtube channel And i don't say that lightly it took me like 20 years to finally pick a favorite color. It's green btw
You play my favorite life sim and strategy games (sims, spore, ck3, rimworld) and your narration makes me laugh nonstop. Where have you been all my life?
"At the stroke of midnight, get it?" That joke was so forced, yet the explanation that followed had me bursting into laughter. Plus whomever said "if you have to explain it, it's not funny". Well I beg to differ.
The episode I've been waiting for I told my sister to try make a typical UK style council house but she's still yet to complete this as you'll always end up going over the top and not sticking to the minimum requirements 9/10 looks like a mansion in LA
It seems Timothy gained more than simple material wealth from the genies, as you can see he also possesses the ability to phase through his own home to destroy the filth that has begun to encroach on his living space. What good fortune.
You three could do a challenge in the sims 4 multiplayer mod. The challenge: Each of you starts in one tile on the bottom-most floor and race each other to the top-most floor while staying within your walls. You can try to block other players with your tiles so long as they are connected to your starting tile.
This is so funny cus when I first saw Spiff's video I genuinely thought I was clicking on an Ambiguous Amphibian playthrough just because of your "100 foot hole" start. I thought "What has AA got up to now?" And was greeted by a surprisingly strong tea scent and British poshness HAHAHA
Also be sure to check out Spiff and Kevin's runs of this (see the end) - realized they had made them in the middle of this lol. Each one's neat in its own different way
yes it's awesome that you and Kevin bounce ideas off each other.
That's wild. I thought you were doing a spin on Spiff's vid, but using The Sims 1, but no, everyone's doing it differently.
I didn't know you watched/ knew of them.
All hail the green reptile, for he blessed us again with a video one will take upon his soul with joy and gratitude.
Are you secretly Shane Madej from Watcher/Buzzfeed Unsolved????
He said my name! Love how all three of us had different takes on this at nearly the same time haha
Sounds a lot like the next Sims challenge should be a joint venture with all three of you!
this makes me hopeful for a collab between you, ambiguous, and RTgame
@@firebert123 I’d die to see such a crossover happen
More like bore ragnarok, amiright??
You should Collab, the chaos will be legendary.
Spiff and Kevin's runs were great, but I am a perpetual fan of your narration.
It's just so unique, I love the story telling/role-play type content he does and I wish there were more like him!
It’s kind of perfect
A wonderful voice
Such a soothing voice, he makes me feel… safe?
He also sounds like Plankton sometimes when he gets excited
Kevin stresses me wayyyy to much than i need to be stressed by these type of Sims playthroughs, too much dose of sociopathy for me.
Imagine being this guy's neighbor, never seeing him leave, but everyday somehow the house gets bigger and you're not sure how and then one day the house just fucking lights ablaze
Sounds like a junji ito story
you have one of my favorite channels on youtube
Omg hey Danny!
And he's holding it hostage right now!
Ayo? I love both you!

Does this mean theres now canonically more than 1 Channel on youtube?

The Sims 1 has a very special place in my heart. Your antics with the game with that legendary narration makes it all the better.
1 tile start? Sounds like daily life in New York City
lol too true
1 tile but the rent is jacked up to extortionate loan shark levels lol
I had a friend relate living in NYC to that episode of Adventure Time where their treehouse gets stolen and split into like 30 separate rentals and they got shafted into having single a ladder as an apartment. Now that's all I can think when people mention NYC rent lol
*laugh in $5000/month closet apartment unit*

The Sims 1 is a perfect game to match AA's personality. It's surprisingly literate in classical references, sometimes philosophical, but also deeply silly and surreal.
It's pretty much Will Wright's personality imprinted into a game!
I love seeing AA, Kev, and Spiff bouncing off each other like this, seeing the different iterations of similar ideas is just *chef's kiss*.
Stop typifying shit like "chefs kiss". Literally couldn't be more cringe if you tried.
Kev is Call Me Kevin and Spiff is Spiffing Brit.
I wanna see pthem in an isosceles lock (dick to butt to dick to butt to dick to butt, in an unbroken circle of interlocked thrusting men).
In one week, I've gone from never having heard of you to being addicted to your videos. Keep these glorious things coming!

this man loves genie lamps .. wonder if he could do these runs without them
Well, in Sims 2 you can dig for treasure and earn like that, in Sims 1 you could use a weasel and earn painting, so yeah, it's perfectly possible even without the genie lamps in my opinion
You can actually make a shit ton of money selling wooden gnomes, lol

If you used moveobjects on them you can put them out in the middle of the road, etc. and they'll float there in perpetuity, constantly trying to prevent themselves from falling to the ground.

Never seen a better narrator on youtube. I would watch you narrate paint dry and love it. Cant wait for more
Months ago you motivated me to get Sims 1 installed on my computer, which I successfully did, and now your challenges motivate me to try them as well.

They are. Kevin even posted a comment here.
Ah yes, the PortaPotty Start. A classic maneuver
I'm amazed at AA's vocabulary, I can't get enough of his narration/videos, theyre so good
I'm loving the Sims content. They've been funny, humourous, and hilarious. Dare I say, all three?
“I need to be surrounded by walls all the time” and “no jobs allowed” perfectly explains my time in this phony baloney PhD program.
Glad that my two favorite sides of the coins acknowledge each other’s existence.
The Poet Amphibian
And
The Chaotic Kevin
and the posh mix between the two, spiff
I'm not sure if you are reading this but your videos are like therapy to me.
I love how all 3 youtubers had completely different takes on this kind of challenge
Every single one of these seems to just be "buy genie lamp"
reminded me of Bender's "apartment" from Futurama and that one episode where Fry moves in there, the sim's jacket is fitting too
Im glad I found your channel! The Sims is my whole childhood, nostalgia is overwhelming!

This episode is excellent. I find Sims 1 bleak but a fun chaotic and I love it.
Every sims 1 challenge: get the genie lamp

Love the Sims 1 stuff! You should look into some of the weirder stuff you can do with the Makin' Magic pack. I remember throwing parties, turning people into toads, & seeing how many sims my pet dragon would eat!
