I seen most eras after the 80’s. Those guys are more efficient but not as dynamic with the rock by handles, speed and toughness. How tf you think he got 4 scoring titles

In 7 Finals appearances Kobe shot under 40% for the series twice and shot 41% from the field and 31% from 3 in the Finals...just saying. Excuses are made for players people love!!!
FG% has NOTHING to do with efficiency. Bryant's True Shooting Percentage across those 7 Finals was actually +0.2% against the defensive opponent, positive scoring efficiency.
2001 Sixers: Top 5 Defense, 2002 Nets: no. 1 Defense, 2004 Pistons: no. 2 Defense, 2008 Celtics: no. 1 ranked Defense, 2009 Magic: no. 1 ranked Defense. 2010 Celtics: Top 5 Defense.
Exactly way to disregard context and Kobe played in the slowest era when scoring was down plus the true comparsion would be how well did Ko be did against those teams compared to other teams number one options who played those same teams

This shows you the power of narrative, single games, and moments that change people's perception of a player. That 48 point game overall holds so much weight in people's mind for how good AI was, when that he never consistently hit those heights throughout his career. Other examples of this are Kyrie's shot over Steph and people thinking Kyrie one of the clutchest players ever.

My only problem with the efficiency argument is that Chuck played in era where if you was the best player nobody gave a fuck how many shoots you took.. It’s also not easy to put up 30 shots in a pro game.. All the efficiency shit wasn’t really a big ass deal when some of the top scorers was 38% from the field today you lose minutes for that

The issue with AI was he was kind of inefficient for his situation.
AI does have the finals appearance, but if Harden played in a conference that was the same as the early 2000’s East, he could’ve also made a final as a team’s best player.
The 76ers was the best team in the east and AI was the best player in the east. So he really shouldn’t get that much credit. I say his game 1 performance was amazing but that’s about it

If James played in the early 2000s I think you would have been still good at elite. But he wouldn't be able to get to his spots like he normally does because the floor shrinks and he also would get guarded by the best defenders of all time during that period. Allen Iverson was pound for pound tougher got to his spots quicker and more effectively. Allen Iverson had the ball on a string. Nobody was catching that guy unless you were shaq or Tim Duncan somebody knocking him down. 8 hours a better mid-range shooter James harden is a better three ball. Allen Iverson didn't carry a team. Most eastern conference teams in the early 2000s in general didn't have great spacing. That 76ers team got to their finals because of their defense. If you go pound for pound as well and use the same metrics both had an unstoppable move but the difference is the league BANNED AI move while he was in his prime. There’s a difference between playing bad and not showing up. Ai played bad and even then there is some context being left out for that such as bad spacing and bad coaching. James Harden at times completely vanished and seemed disinterested.

There weren’t that many defensive PGs in the 00s either. You had Kidd, declining Glove, and Chauncey became better once AI was far away from his prime

Iverson came into the league averaging 23.5 and 7.5. He had seasons where he averaged 30+ and 7-8 apg. He would destroy the league in this era. His shot would be better too. Shame he played with no help till the tail end of his prime, but he absolutely is just as good if not better than harden.
