    For a Barricade, a really disappointing upper durability. Zach, what’s been your top two or top three best/most durable uppers you’ve seen in 2021 tennis shoes? For the toe draggers out there…

    Great video review again. The first tennis specific shoe a had were the barricades 2. Maybe the best tennis shoe a ever had. But after that they stared to make then narrow. Years ago i had to play in the Jordan 2 for a few month. Those are the best shoe i liked the most to play in.

    I’ve been waiting for this video! I knew the barricades would sell out on day one, so I bought multiples (all three sizes that I might end up being). They’re arriving soon! And I’m feeling good about my purchase. Thanks for the video!
    Also, I wanted to ask… is Adidas discontinuing the sole court boost? And, do you think they’ll add a bounce option for the sole court shoe?

      So I asked the designer and I was told it’s under embargo so I don’t think any of us are going to find that one out but I would think it may be a while before we get new ones or even a bounce solecourt option- I did make a pair of those custom though if you want to check that video out

      I talked about them on a livestream when I reviewed the Jet Mach 3 but overall I’m avoiding that line of shoes, I think the lack of upper stability and outsole tread is dangerous so I won’t be reviewing them as it would just be me bashing them and I don’t want to make videos like that

    Thank you for another fantastic video. I still have my Adidas Novak barricades and while they are tanks (I have a fair amount of toe drag) and still going strong they can get uncomfortable in high humidity, I think Adidas finally struck a balance between durability and breathability/comfort. I hope this particular iteration succeeds.

    I had an opportunity to try them on at Tennis Plaza in Tampa, and as a huge fan of Barricade 7 (top 3 tennis shoe ever!) and having owned all the versions of Barricades since the 7s, I found this new one a lot wider in the toe area fore foot. I have a medium width foot but I like more narrow fit so when I stop had I don’t slide my toes into the wall and jamming them, after wearing these new ones in the store, I did not feel that security in the tow box and felt that if I stop had to change directions, this shoe gonna destroy my toes!
    I love the fit of the current ASICS FF and Resolution line, Nike Cage, Lotto 100s, and most performance shoes, but new Barricades are just too wide. Any thoughts?

    • @FootDoctorZach
      @FootDoctorZach 3 роки тому

      For me they were medium actually, you may just not have liked the shape of the toe box more than the size, in which case I’d just avoid because you can’t change shape by going up or down sizes they may just not mesh with your foot

Definitely compelling since I am looking for a new pair of Adidas, but I am trying my best to hold out for new editions of their SMB / SCB (IF they plan on releasing new versions that is..). Unfortunately these didn't cut it for me. I've been a barricade user from the beginning and these are definitely not as sturdy as the "old" barricade models. Didn't enjoy the lacing system as it felt weird on my foot like uneven pressure was being placed on it and they feel flimsy on the top as well. They also feel really low to the ground so my feet felt it the next day as well. I tried the Djokovic shoe and really was surprised how good it felt on my feet. @Foot Doctor Zach i gotchu. Adidas had em for 70% off, at $50, so copped a pair. I have pretty wide feet so hopefully sizing up 1 full size is enough. Often times, that lateral dorsal cutaneous nerve causes my foot to sorta fall asleep when I have a snug shoe around the sides.

    Can you pleeease help me decide between these here and the vapor x (maybe if I can get my hands on it the knit version but it’s kinda hard to find). Also I tried the true size I usually wear and the heel was moving a little, I felt more stable on one size smaller. Please help me decide? 🙏🏼

      @@FootDoctorZach Yeah like Dance Dance Revolution or StepmaniaX? I first played DDR competitively in 2003 and used to wear the Adidas Superstar SS2G Lows basketball sneakers back in the day. I've learned that the top tennis grand slams are played on acrylic, is that right? My Stepmania X stage is made of acrylic as well so I think tennis sneakers would be a great fit for me. I ordered an amazon tryon for the adidas uber sonic 4. But I'm also looking at other options like the Fila Men's Axilus 2 Energized. I think the best one for me would be the Adidas SoleCourt Boost but they're sold out in size 12 everywhere

    I had no idea adidas made a new Barricade. I hope it has the durability guarantee. The Barricade 2018 they made again - "by popular demand" - didn't have it. Yet was still $150 - AND never went on sale -__-
    Anyways, if these have a durability guarantee - time for Nike to take a back-back seat. I myself am quasi boycotting Nike, being that they are probably china's biggest money-maker, and we all know what they did/are trying to do to us. >:( ... Plus, I like Asics Gel Res better than Nike.
