I’m big fan of new Barricade. Externally supportive and high performance shoes. I don’t mind sacrificing some comfort for performance. It’s not slippers obviously and not a shoe for training etc, but it fits me so good that I can trust and give 100%
I’m a ASICS court ff 2 user and I slide around a lot like Djokovic. When I first used the new adidas barricades, I didn’t really like em, thought they weren’t as secure on my foot and was worried about moving fast and pivoting in them. Also I couldn’t really slide as well in them as with the ASICS.
After I tightened up the shoelaces a bit more, I felt more secure in the shoes and was able to do the same fast movements and pivoting with my feet as before. Also the shoes are pretty comfortable right out the box with the padded heel and tongue (top for protection shoelaces).
The more and more I wore the shoes, the better I started moving in them, and I was able to slide pretty well in them after the first day, second day, 3rd etc.
The durability on the side of the shoe if you’re a slider (and put holes normally into the side of the shoe) is pretty good. The “adidas” lettering is made out of a tough material to help protect the shoe when you slide... but of course I eventually wore through the letter, still no hole yet tho.
For me this shoe was more a hit than a miss, and I rate them in my top 2 shoes as of now.
Not sure which I like more, court ff 2 or barricades. But they are both solid choices.
The new barricades definitely feel lighter and less stiff and barely any break in period compared to the older previous models/generations.
Out the box I could slide right away with ASICS and have good traction (squeaks)
Out the box I needed a slight break in before I could start sliding with the adidas barricades
I like how the fit is true to size also. I’m true to size for both court ff and barricades.
It’s a really good shoe, love how supportive and stable it is, like the old barricades
I love the court FF laces. They lace up tighter without yanking in them, and easy to loosen
The laces aren’t “flimsy.” They’re thin, relative to overall width/thickness but that allows you to tighten them and lock in your foot. I dig these shoes a lot (former Barricade X user). Bounce 2.0 is comfy and the shoes ride low but offer a lot of support and aren’t “clunky.” Nice compromise between an Ubersonic and Sole Court Boost. They do run 0.5 to a full size bigger (length). I normally wear a 10 in adidas tennis shoes, I’m down to a 9.5 in these. Well done by adidas on these. Glad they’re back!
I have an almost new barricade 2015 model that I love. I bought 2 pairs in yellow. What model are they? Probably had 7 or 8 pairs of earlier barricades, maybe more
My last adidas baricade is same as murray worn with black and green.. i feel good, supportive and durable… but when i try assics court FF 2, assics is even better.. they are softer but still very supportive, and when land from jump, they are very very stable… i love assics
I bought four model, blue metallic and this one, both flat and uncomfortable, but solid and durable, after the yellow one and parley one, both solid, comfortable, cushioned, not flat, I'm very happy with the last of this, I love it!!
I have a pair, love them. Own barricades before for forever too.
What I noticed about those “flimsy” laces is that they work for a change. The stay tight and I do not have to keep tying my shoe laces constantly because they loosen up. Same laces are on asics gel resolution and I love them. So I rather take flimsy that works any day!
Right on!
would you like to make a video about the best tennis shoes for hard court slide?
Are they ever gonna reissue/reupdate the Edberg torsion comp?
Do you do your videos before, during or after working hours?
I had barricade 2 and 5s too, definitely best tennis shoes I have worn
I had knee problems with those shoes, but I still liked them for movement
I tried the Tokyo version and after 7 times “breaking” them in , the tongue and heel material was already wearing out. Returned to adidas. Had high hopes I am a long time Latitude wearer. But I agree this is a “miss”!
I'm watching this video and also Zverev vs Harris. I have never had adidas sneakers for tennis. Either too tight or too wide. Always felt uncomfortable. Then i see Zverev wearing adidas shoes. Does the pros use retail shoes or do they also have custom made shoes like the rackets the sponsor?
Hope you can do a review on Wilson amplifeel 2.0
It is actually pretty good shoes.. I never worn previous series of barricades but definitely hit for me in terms of comfort, stability and look!
Tsitsipas went back to Solecourt boost in the second match of the US Open, not sure why., He was rocking these at Cincinnati open just fine, could be that humidity at US Open.
Yeah I noticed that too. He was uncomfortable playing Murray and I think he might have gotten some blisters, so maybe thats why he went back to the Solecourt?
I dont know why adidas would remove the Solecourt line… they seemed more comfortable
@@sebastianfernandez3067 really, the Solecourts are gone now???
@@barryjohnson1330 It seems that way. I’ve checked many websites and the only Solecourts left are old ones, so they’re selling them a little cheaper. It appears that the Barricade line has replaced them :/
He got back to his original shoes
Interesting thanks guys
I was always a bigger fan of the Boost cushioning vs the Bounce. Not sure how the new Bouce 2.0 will feel.
Boost is made for comfort vs bounce is all about performance. That’s why almost everyone Adidas supported player on tour has bounce foam instead of boost
These shoes require a good 3 to 4 hour break in period. Used them to walk my dogs for about 4 hours before taking them on the court. To me, it’s somewhat unfair to compare to the previous barricades that were 2 to 3 ounces heavier. The shoe market is changing and trending towards lighter shoes. This seems to be a good competitor to the ff2.
I use to wear only Barricade for years, in fact, everyone had them but they really screwed themselves, then they went cheap and took the warranty off. Now, only Gel Resolution for me
I like the Mizunos as well, not as comfortable as the GP turbo but better ventilation
Gp turbo is too bulky for me and Mizuno has so little support unfortunately
I dont understand the laces toward the outside of the shoe
thanks
I just got a pair of women's. Too stiff and too low at the ankle area that it is uncomfortable. Will be returning it.
You could vacuum clean those carpets
I tried an 8.5 like I always get and it was not big enough in the width or on top. I liked most of the older models I tried in the past 25 years. For me the Tokyo model was a miss.
can anyone recommend a decent pair of tennis shoes that would be on the wider side and good for someone with flat feet
I have wide feet and New Balance 2E fit are good; if you have REALLY wide feet their 4E fit toe box is huge.
K Swiss my guy .
We have a video on our page that goes over shows that are better for a wide foot. Check it out! But I would recommend Kswiss Hypercourt Express 2, Babolat SFX, Head Revolt, New Balance and Wilson Rush Pro 3.5 👍🏻🎾
I often see reviews, of this shoe and others, in which the reviewer refers to the laces as "flimsy". I own this shoe and some of the others, and I just don't get it. What the hell are you guys doing to the shoe that causes the laces to be so flimsy? I have yet to break a lace on any shoe since I was about 12-years old. Maybe you should blame the racket...
Lol
I think people should blame their technique personally
Well said. I also love the "flimsy" laces. perhaps these guys who call it flimsy should blame their huge bellies that they can't crouch low enough to tie their shoes properly.
@@christiandelapena8623 Oh My Buddha.....that's a bit harsh. Does your first name mean nothing? Lol I agree though. I like the laces much better than the thick ones.
I think they do have a point though. I wore the solecourt boosts for a couple of months. Love the shoes, but on my right shoe the laces tore off by constant pulling and rubbing against the lace holes.
how on earth would coach Gu slide in these ? I tried it and almost broke my knee.
A dull tack feel in the arch? Thats nit a good sign
Tsitsipas switched back to the Solecourt Boost from the 2021 Barricade for his last match (vs. Mannarino) at the US Open. Not sure why. Tsitsipas (along with several other tour players) actually play with a custom Solecourt Boost. The upper is the Solecourt Boost, the sole is actually the Solecourt Bounce, Muguruza uses the same set-up. Not sure why Adidias doesn't release that shoe to the public. I'm a huge Boost fan, I saw the '21 Barricade at the Western and Southern Open and all the Barricade's I saw the sole was dis-colored, not a good look. FWIW
Yeah I dont know why they removed the Solecourt line tbh. I think they could sell the Barricades and the Solecourt just fine, because they’re very different from each other.
Guys are spot on, these shoes are ok but nothing special, stiff, tight heel, wide in forefoot high I like. Personally I love the Solecourt and feel those are better than these.
why they need to put huge adidas words in medial side...3 stripes not enough for branding i guess
Reminded me of the Feet you wear adidas shoes back in the day
Yonex has such random paint jobs , just random bits of color or all 1 color basically
I have wide feet, adidas shoes fits me well.
Does the new barricade have a 6 month warranty???
If you based in Europe (eu) then yes.
Just bring back the barricade V's and make them lighter!!!!
👍
FML 4 misses I just bought em they are on their way to me o gawwd
The Air Federer?
Barricades run too narrow in the toebox for me. I wear New Balance 6E shoes for tennis. I don't think that I can wear any other brands.
This channel is the Asian Invasion.
Loved the 5 and 7 Barricades...just bought these new Barricades and instantly DID NOT LIKE THEM!! Most points in this video are spot on...WHY! WHY WHY!!...go back to the 5 technology please!!
The old ones probably cost too much to make. All about profit margins over quality. 👎
when he gets the scale out all companies cringe
This barricade version is already a bust. For a premium performance shoe, your need shoe string holes that are not flimsy. If it fit Harry's big feet, it is a roomy full fit. This shoe looks nice but the lack of comfort and wearability will kill sales and its reputation. What were the barricade people thinking? 🤔 This drives a great model/brand into a deep ditch. A shoe known for performance must perform right out of the box. Next time involve tennis people in the shoe planning. Adidas, guys want substance over looks.
I cannot use adidas shoes, dies not work with my feet. Tried different models. I am satisfied with asics and yonex
Barricades have always taken forever to break them in.
The new ones take less than a day to break in
We've all been scammed by Adidas over the past few years so now, we can detect another scam almost instantaneously. One wearing, no thanks. Sadly, Adidas has come up with another loser and tarnished the good name of the Barricade. I'm afraid, the way the bean-counters are looking into the products, we will never see the kind of quality out of Adidas that we used to get, ever again. RIP Adidas.
Achiiles tendon torture ... You´ll get blisters, because you´ll get blisters, 30 min into the game
And again a shoe that i unuserable if you need to wear an ankle brace
Forefoot is too thin. Hurts my foot.
Same...a miss for me
I don't like the heavy Barricades. Nike running shoes are even friendlier to the body.
Hate huge logos. Won’t buy because of that then.
1st
Wow. When are you getting your award?
E
Its a no. Was in pain with the heel digging in. The solecourt boost is the best tennis shoe ever. You know a shoe is good when ebay prices are higher than retail for a tennis shoe.
These shoes are garbage IMO. They’re so stiff and the arch thing is hard as a rock. They feel like you’re running around in a hard mold rather than a shoe. I wear the Solecourt Boosts and those are 1000 times better than these. These are nothing like the past Barricades. Miss for me as well! I returned mine after trying them on and running around the house. I could barely get the shoes on my foot! I have a flat foot with normal width btw.
They’re hideous
Absolute miss.
horrible.
