Pints with Aquinas is quite the good time. Keep up the good work bro! We up here chillin' in America. I have a question for you, Matt Fradd: Who would win in a street fight - Shrek with a dagger, or Grover with brass knuckles? Let me know cuz if anyone would know. It'd be you! Love the content! Have a great weekend and God help you!
You should have a separate supplement to this video where you ask Dr. Hahn to explain his experience of NOT converting to Eastern Orthodoxy because of the filioque controversy. It would be beneficial for Catholics who are not familiar / don't have the time to get into the depths of understanding the controversy. I have experienced some good fellow Catholics being enamored with Eastern Orthodoxy and even converting, and I never know what to say to them. I find Dr Hahn has the gift of making the complex simple for us little brain Catholics. God bless!
After listening to Dr. Hahn's account of the Eucharist, I suddenly felt the need to pray and burst into tears. I'm a protestant, but I don't think I can deny the Catholic church any longer. The Eucharist is real. It's not a metaphor. Please pray for me, a sinner. I think I have to become Catholic for the sake of my conscience. Peace be with you.
Sending prayers ☝ with love to you💙. Go to a catholic church for adoration (it's so quiet and peaceful), ask the Lord to guide you. God bless you and protect you always💙
I'm a born and raised Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) - for those who don't know, SDAs believe the Catholic church to be the beast of Revelation. Two years ago I started dating a Catholic girl and it is through her that I became open to looking at Catholic beliefs. My family and friends are predominantly SDA and very upset that I am considering converting to be a Catholic. But I can't deny the truths that I am seeing. I believe God's plan was for me to meet this Catholic girl - I don't think there is any other situation that would have caused me to look into another church. Especially the Catholic church! Please pray for me.
@@joshuasawyer3252 of course bro! I wasn’t SDA, but I was basically every other denomination - Baptist, Presbyterian, Anglican, Lutheran, Pentecostal(ish), so I’ve been around the block haha
You will only be trading one cult for another! The RC’s added books to the Bible. Read the book Fox’s Book of Martyrs by John Fox and you will find out who the RC church is and where their wealth comes from (theft and murder) and who the real Followers of Jesus Christ were and ARE! God bless you Real Good!
I was a Protestant for 30 years and went to a Catholic Church about 2 months ago - I have never been captivated by Jesus like I was there - been attending at least 3 masses a week and in RCIA - I have never encountered Jesus in that way - amazingly enough a sin I have struggled with for 40 years melted away at my first mass - glory be!…..
GOD bless your way to the Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. All the Holy Angels and Saints are your Friends, so you are Not Alone but Always under the Care of the Most High. Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through him who strengthens me." ✝️
I’m a cradle Catholic who didn’t leave the church but also never really appreciated its God-given authority to teach truth, goodness and beauty until I read Rome Sweet Home. Thank you and God bless you, Dr. Hahn!
After listening to Dr. Hahn’s other videos last week, I felt very sad of why I left Catholicism in 2005, but I guess it was because of the lack of understanding of the faith that I grew up with. When a Protestant friend invited me to their church I went and never left since just last Sunday, August 13,2023. When I went back to the Catholic church and took communion for the first time since I left in 2005, I can’t control my tears while kneeling down and asking God for forgiveness for leaving, then my cry turned into sobbing that I couldn’t stop for awhile. But I felt like God is forgiving me of leaving and felt in my heart God is welcoming me home. Thanks Jesus for sending Dr. Hahn and Steve Ray and Brian Mercier my way.
@@GoodTrueBeautiful hi! My experienced happened before and after receiving the Sacrament. knelt down and asked God for forgiveness before partaking of the Sacrament and after partaking it. In both instances I felt really moved and i started crying.
@@AnabellaWherrett wow that is lovely. However, I earnestly urge you to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation 🕊️ It will change your soul and open it up to receive the fullness of the eucharist once received in a state of grace!!! Your life will change for the better with monthly practice of confession 🙏 it’s a beautiful thing. Confession is a priceless gift and our souls depend on it
Did you have to do confession and somehow reconcile with the church before taking communion? Since you've been gone so long and have been attending Protestant church?
Yes I did confession but that was after I had my communion. I should have done it before communion but I don’t think God would be so legalistic about it. God knows our hearts and when He sees that we are sincere in asking forgiveness directly to Him, I think that’s what matters to God. I believe ‘repentance’ from our sins after confession is more important. We can ask for forgiveness all day long but if we have not truly repented (turned away) from of our sins then confession is just nothing but at a lip service to God.
When I was in a Baptist seminary working on a grad degree around 1993-4, I started reading Origen, Athanasius, Irenaeus and Clement and the rest for a history course. I started carrying a 10 pound New Jerusalem Bible to class and my 80 year old professor would lovingly harass me, then admit that his degree from neighboring Aquinas College was fantastic for him and in studying Greek we knew the Vatican scholars to be the finest in lexical titles, especially the classic “Grammatical Analysis of the Greek New Testament.” My grandmother’s priest and nun spoke at her funeral to the effect that Angela’s dying wish was for her Protestant offspring to come home to Rome, something I have not forgotten. I am still reading Greek Bible and recently acquired several Catholic study Bibles (Nabre, Douay Rheimes, RSV-CE). I have fallen in love with the story of St Athanasius and John Cassian. Pray for me.
I entered RCIA as the Son of an Evangelical Pentecostal Pastor back in 1994. I came into the Church at the Easter Vigil 1995, thanks be to God! Dr. Hahn became one of my early Heroes of the Faith! I was privileged to attend Franciscan University of Steubenville between 1999-2003 and even had a few evenings of prayer and bible study at Dr. Hahn’s home! God bless you always Dr. Hahn! You and Kimberly have blessed so many of us!
My wife and I will be confirmed this Easter Vigil. I've been studying scripture, theology and church history since 2011. After years of intense study and discouragement in denominational doctrine, I can't explain the relief in knowing I can rest in the Catholic Church. God has restored in us the joy of salvation. If you are discerning denominations, please begin with what the early church believed and save yourself years of research.
Ah stink, I missed this! My father (and my childhood best friend's father) both had Dr. Hahn as a youth minister... when they were all Presbyterian. Dr. Hahn isn't too popular among the local Protestant community back here, but he's very popular with the Catholic youth. Thanks for helping my father and Mr. Depew toward the Catholic faith, Dr Hahn! It's a beloved treasure to receive from my parents.
Heh...my current Protestant pastor knew Dr. Hahn back in the day and does not have much good to say, so it's interesting to hear him tell his own story. I'm moving toward Orthodoxy myself. There are still a number of issues with Catholicism that I still can't square with, as much as I would love to see and be in communion with Rome 😔
@@johnathanrhoades7751 Read more of what Dr. Hahn has written and Jeff Cavins. I think the Holy Spirit is calling you but it is hard for you to let go of how you were raised. However, you should go on a Catholic retreat and open yourself to receiving the Holy Spirit 🔥 through RCIA. Converts are always welcome and make amazing Catholics!
@@seaglasssparkles6910, that was my thought too. Johnathan, I get it. I was a Protestant (Evangelical to Reformed to Anglican) for 40 years and a missionary for almost 10. I came into full communion with Mother Church on November 5. God bless you!
If I wasn’t a broke college student, I’d literally give all my savings to listen to this! Scott Hahn is an incredible mind and one of the biggest reasons why I decided to come back to the church. He has such a prophetic way of explaining the catholic faith and is so humbled by the Holy Spirit.
As someone who was born and raised evangelical/baptist my whole life. My happiest day was coming into the fullness of Christ's Roman Catholic Church this last Easter Vigil after listening to anyone and reading everything that had to do with Catholicism
My wife converted after heating Scott's conversion cassette tape. How do I begin to thank you? That was my greatest hope for five years that she come to The Faith. We have been married for 30 years, now. Wow!
This is a conversion story I never get tired of hearing, apart from Dr. Calloway's. Made me realize how much of my own faith I have been neglecting and taking for granted as a cradle Catholic. God bless the two of you and your families!
It's a great conversion story. It takes years but in many ways as striking as Paul/Saul. I just re-read Rome Sweet Home a few weeks ago. It was interesting reading it again after I've studied more and grown in my faith (cradle Catholic).
@@lonedesertfox hi, sorry, I will repost my response to you. For some reason it got deleted and disappeared. But don't worry will definitely send it again here.

My heart is like pounding differently as i listened to this conversation. As a filipino and a catholic, this is relevant in our present times to perhaps reawaken our deep appreciation to the beautiful and precious gift of faith which we have received 500 years ago.
My wife is Filipina Catholic. Why are you so focused on 500 years ago? That was around the Reformation. I thought Catholic church was around for 2000 years.
@Lkv Alaan well i am Filipino too from Davao City. I have been watching them and steve ray, listening to catholic answers and others. Infact i just receive email response from Matt of the biblical references he used in one of his topic which i really appreciated.
@@peaceandlove544 It's so ironic, I've been excommunicated from my protestant church for not rejecting Catholicism. Now a few months later I've become Catholic, left my "fine" church, for one that is really in a mess right now. And I absolutely love it! Even with the "crisis" within the church, I absolutely embrace and love the Church!
About 10 years ago I came back to the church….or just left my cafeteria Catholic attitude behind. After my Mom stopped crying 😁 she said that I should check out this Catholic scholar she keeps hearing about. She said “I think his name is Scott Hahn”. The rest is history. Read many of this books, watched his lectures on You Tube and listened to his awesome conversion story probably 20 times by this point. I also daily listen to his rosary in the Hallow app. Never get bored of Scott Hahn. I hope to converse with him in Heaven one day.
As a lifelong catholic, with the exception of a teenage/ early twenties atheism,I have to say one of the greatest things to happen to the modern catholic church is protestant converts. Protestant converts are absolutely awesome.
@@peaceandlove544 the rosary is recitation of prayers while meditating on the holy events of the life, death and resurrection of Our Lord and His Mother.

Cradle Catholic here...I read “Rome Sweet Rome” and it was amazing. I really enjoyed hearing Dr. Hahn describe his journey to the Catholic Church. Dr. Hahn, and many other converts and “reverts”, are a blessing and gift to the Church. Thank you‼️😊 for your witness.
*Scott Hahn is almost exclusively the reason for my conversion from Presbyterianism to Catholicism (in 2003). I even had a whole bunch of his books. The one on confession he gave to me, and signed it, at the Atlanta Eucharistic conference in 2003. This was just before I became Catholic. Afterward, he came and gave a talk at my parish and signed the rest of his books that I owned. Our family moved in 2014 and I never found the books while unpacking. I’m so bummed that, somehow, I lost them in the move. This was such a great interview. I’m so happy to be a PWA Patreon supporter.
I love Dr. Hann’s story especially that two of his sons are becoming priests 😃🙏🏼🕊 we need more good Godly men to enter into priesthood. So happy to hear this and that they are interested in observing both masses. As a younger generation I’m so stocked by this 😃♥️🙏🏼 glad Trad here lol
I remember long ago being at mass and watching all sorts of people in line to receive, young and old, hauty and humble, and singing the hymn 'one bread one body' and it all became a vision of people walking into heaven for all eternity.
Dr. Scott Hahn, you had me at hello... Geez brother in Christ, as a cradle Catholic you continue to teach and inspire us to learn more and more! Thank God for you and your love for our Lord and his Church.
Great interview! As a Confessional LCMS Lutheran (ie conservative Lutheran that holds to the Lutheran Confessions…not that wing-ding liberal branch the ELCA), I too am currently investigating the claims of the Catholic faith. I have recently begun to read through the Catholic Catechism and am praying that The Holy Spirit will guide me. I love being Lutheran but will go wherever The Truth leads. However, I do want to provide some info for other Protestants who maybe aren’t quite there yet (as am I) but yet strongly desire a more traditional and liturgical style of worship with a Biblical and historical doctrine of The Eucharist. Lutherans confess that The Eucharist is truly the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. We reject the symbolic view and we reject the “purely spiritual” view of the Presbyterians. Luther was adamant about it being the True Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. Upon receiving it the Pastor says “Take and eat, The true Body of our Lord, given for you for the forgiveness of sins” and then “Take and drink, the true Blood of our Lord, shed for you for the forgiveness of your sins”. Another thing is that the Lutheran liturgy is nearly identical to the Catholic liturgy. I feel right at home when visiting a Catholic Mass because just as Dr. Hahn was saying, the liturgy is based on how worship is done in both the Old Testament and Book of Revelation (Chap 5 Heavenly worship). There is a wonderful book by Lutheran Theologian Jordan Cooper titled “Liturgical Worship” that goes into great detail about what everything means and how it connects to Scripture. Also, for those of you who are Reformed Protestants, check out his book “The Great Divide” which contrasts Reformed Theology with Lutheranism. At any rate, please pray for my journey into learning more about Catholicism and that The Lord will lead us where He wants us to go.
I have really appreciated the timing of your recent videos where you are asking some of the most respected Catholics why they chose Catholicism over Orthodoxy, because right now I am a struggling Catholic convert that is wondering if I made a mistake. To have an intellectual giant like Trent Horn or Scott Hahn explain their reasoning, it's really helping me to discern.
I’ve been really diving into the Papacy debate. I am Catholic but have always loved Orthodoxy, reading their saints was huge for me in returning to Catholic Faith. For some reason in the last few months I’ve been really fixated on this issue. I think I have finally let it go though. I feel like there’s more evidence for the papacy(especially looked at through a Jewish lense) than for devotion to the blessed mother, or even more than for the true presence in the Eucharist. I don’t feel like Orthodox scrutinizes those other sacred traditions to the same degree as they do the papacy. I think they are just trying to justify the split. We can convince ourselves of many things to justify a position. In the end I think that, just like a lot of Protestants view on the Eucharist as well as the early followers who left Christ bc of the Bread of life discourse: Orthodoxy, in relation to the papacy, echos the same statement... “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?”
There is a great book called Russia and the Universal Church by Vladimir Solovyov, you may find it helpful. Solovyov was thought to be Dostoevsky’s inspiration for the character of Alyosha in The Brothers Karamazov. Brilliant man, almost prophetic in regard to what we are seeing now in Eastern Orthodoxy.
Don't be confused. You may not agree with hierarchy but remember The Church, The mystical body of Christ is Our Lord, the real pastors of the church and the real sheep of the church. Within the church you may agree or feel beter with the traditionalist or maybe fine with Novous Order and the traditionalist but do not agree with the schim of blessing gay marriage or Eucharist on the hand nor with crimes commited by certain clergy nor on the lack of string of immediate action against them by the church hierarchy many times in the past but of coverage and changing location or sending the clergy to permanent retirement.
I thank God for having you in this ministry for thousands of people who had not yet heard true meaning of catholic faith .I'm hoping that this ministry will continue forever. May the Lord give you a long life and good health .
Dynamic theological duo. I appreciate you. Protestant living as best a half Cath as possible. So may hoops to go through to be complete due to life of bad chocies/sin. Help me Holy Spirit!!! I appreciate you Matt. Your show means a lot to us out here!!!
My next rosary will be for you, Vicki. A friend once asked ' how Catholic do you think you are?' and while I bumbled my response, another friend replied, 'when it comes to the Catholic faith, you are or you're not.' Much like the journey of Dr.Hahn, hold onto the hand of Jesus and face the Lord with humble courage. He loves you madly and there is no sheep who is less valuable to this Good Shepherd - let Him forgive you. And forgive yourself. You are welcome here.
We are all sinners! Including me and having come back to church after being away for so long, the church has restored my faith and I'm dedicated my life to christ. Praying the rosery, doing adoration, and volunteering at my parish I've never been happier in my life! Get involved and the holy spirit will work miracles. God bless you will pray for you. Remember the sacraments are there for us to clear our souls, minds, and get closer to GOD
@vicki will pray to our holy mother for her intercession in your life. Remember we are sinners. Some of us worse than others. I was a sinful man living my life for me, my pride etc...got locked up and Jesus saved me. Been a catholic entire life. Now I'm so in love going to confession, sacraments and having holy eucharist is the most amazing thing. I feed the poor, help homeless and have new friends in the church. Remember Jesus only wants us closer to him, the father and his holy mother. The saints are friends we can emulate cause any of them were sinners but yet loved christ with all of their hearts. Godbless you and keep us posted on your journey 🙏
Make an imperfect act of contrition if you can't make a perfect act of contrition and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you forward. All God asks of us in order to be reconciled to Him is true penance and turning to Him and away from habits of sin.
That part around 01:12 was really touching. To see him, more than 30 years after his conversion, still in love with the faith, specially with everything going on in the Church today.
I have been so blessed to be in a Bible Study - The Ignatius Study Bible Series with commentary by Scott Hahn. We have learned so much thanks to Dr. Hahn and although I've heard his conversion story before, I love hearing it again!
Absolutely wonderful interview. I almost cried hearing Scott's passionate discovery of the liturgical sources of the Mass, and I laughed out in joy and cried when he discussed the filioque.
I never "abandoned" the Latin mass, but growing up without any concept of what the priest was saying was not easy. The revelation of the beautiful prayers of the mass, once understood in the vernacular, changed my whole life. While the young can "prefer" the Latin mass, they forget that the information about what was going on in the mass came from the Novus Ordo, unless they sprung from the womb speaking Latin. Problems arises when the focus of the mass shifts from the Lord to the celebrant's personality and all the abuses therein. The well said Novus Ordo is magnificent. I would ask that whatever one's preference is, we must take care not to become liturgy snobs and fall into spiritual pride.
I am not even Catholic and I heartily agree! We face the same thing in the Bible churches about "the wrong kind of music"! It is another pride driven Protestant battle which leads to yet ANOTHER demonination. I have stopped calling the Reformation by that name-I call it the Rebellion. Look where it got us. Catholics, please take care you don't divide over issues of preference and esthetics. There is too much good happening in your world!
Maronite Cath here. We do profess the Filioque in the creed and go above and beyond to defend the immaculate conception. It really depends from Eastern rite to another.
I've taken Dr. Hahn's recommendation and will read Jurgens' "Faith of the Early Fathers". I'm a follower of Jesus looking for a bigger, deeper, more integrated faith. Thanks Matt for "Pints".
Awesome interview!!! The pray of the Rosary one of the weapons we Catholics use against the devil!!! I’m glad to hear Dr. Hahn prays the rosary and how he has seen the blessing of our Mother Mary on his life. ☺️Oh Mary, Conceived without Sin, Pray for Us Who have Recourse to Thee 🙏
I’m ordering Rome Sweet Home. I have been stuck in limbo between Protestantism and Catholicism. I was raised Baptist and there is such a teaching of how wrong being Catholic is, yet I find myself believing and being so drawn to it. It is such an internal struggle. I need clarity. I need guidance. I do love my current church and my children love it as well. There is some guilt associated with turning their world upside down like that, but I do believe that sometimes that’s exactly what Jesus asks us to do to follow him. Please pray for me.
I will pray for you and your family. The Lamb's Supper is another book by Dr. Hahn that you may like to read. It's a short book, but packed with so much beauty. May God bless you on your journey.
I appreciate your prayers so much. I finally took the plunge and have started RCIA and attending Mass about 3 weeks ago. Everything changed when I started to pray the rosary daily. Mary has heard my request for guidance and is guiding me to her Son 🤍 Now I am praying for the conversion of my husband 🙏🏻
@@mrsB0915 Your comment gave me goosebumps. Our Mother is a powerful intercessor! I will continue to pray for your husband's conversion, please pray for my husband's conversion. God bless.
I was just about to start a guided rosary when I saw your comment pop up! I will happily add your husband to my prayers. If Mary can bring a sinner like me home, there is absolutely hope for all!!
thank you so much. I am now in a kind of strugle because my husband is a Protestant. Just a few days ago he learned about Catholicism, of course he can not accept a lot of think in Catholic thingking. So please pray for us.
IMO I’d say it’s ok for your husband to question. Perhaps visited a kind knowledgeable priest you know who will sit down with you both and allow your husband to ask questions. Other options are taking the Bible Timeline study through Ascension Press and RCIA beginning next fall.
The same with my husband, he has not yet 100% believe in the Catholic teachings. Wr have been doing our Bible studies at home and we are studying the book of Romans which I explained to him we should never judge all the priests because of few bad apples because no one of us is perfect. We will be judged by God the way we judge them without looking into the facts. Satan loves to sow his bad seeds into the Catholic church and destroy some priests but it’s not a reason to abandon the Catholic faith. We go to church mainly for fellowship with God not just to people .
I love Ratzinger but it's so hard to digest, especially while raising kids...It would be awesome to read Hahn explaining Ratzinger because Dr. Scott Hahn is so easy and fun to read and understand. ...feel free to pass this idea on to him, lol.
I never get tired of hearing Dr Hahn’s story. Thanks for sharing this beautiful conversation. I am beyond excited for the Old Testament Ignatius Study Bible!!
I was raised Catholic and went to all Catholic Schools, including college. I didn't know ANY of this! I was resigned to an eternity in hell until a guy from a Bible teaching church shared the Gospel with my wife and me in the '70s. Many of the kids I went to HS with left the Church long ago. Now am I in my 70s and am in a real struggle about the Catholic Church being the one true Church. I am like Scott Hahn too, steeped in Presbyterian theology. This is painful to listen to, but then I never would have found salvation without the evangelicals who witnessed to us. So being saved as a non-Catholic is better than going to hell, and that is my consolation. And many of my friends from Catholic school never did get saved. Bless you Dr. Hahn and Matt Fradd too! Matt's book Deliverance helped me so much!!
I love Scott Hahn. It’s been quite a few years since I watched or listened to him in such a long presentation as this, and I almost forgot how truly amazing and special a witness he is. He is such a gift to the Church. His fidelity to and love for the Truth is so beautiful. His clarity of teaching on covenant and all that means stirs the soul and has the scriptures jumping out off the pages to invite us to a more profound encounter with God than we could ever even imagine.
How great and amazing your conversion story .you had a special call from God for a big mission to preached God's word and defend the catholic faith. May the Lord send you the Holy Spirit to guide you,and the gift of wisdom will be yours forever Amen. . .
Thank you Dr. Hahn for defending the restored mass in the vernacular language (Novus Ordo). It is so wonderful to have mass in our own language and to receive communion in the hands and receive both the Body and Blood of Jesus. It is like Pentecost and the early Church where we understand what is happening. We lost so much when Latin only masses were imposed across the entire western Church. It is my understanding that Koine (common) Greek, the language of the people, was the first language of mass in the Western Church. In grade school and high school we went to Latin Mass every morning. So I went to thousands of Latin masses and served at hundreds. We received communion on the tongue and of course were denied receiving the Blood of Christ. I quite frankly don't understand this false romanticizing of the Latin mass. I am going to speak the truth here. The way mass was said before Vatican II was quite frankly disrespectful. There was a real rot in the liturgy that cried out to heaven for reform. Mass was said in a slam bang way. Prayers by the priest were spoken softly at a fast pace where no one could follow even if they could understand Latin. We altar boys couldn't keep up with the priest in our responses. Most women prayed the rosary; the men looked bored and the children fidgety. Again, this is how it actually was, not the profound religious experience that the traditionalists claim. As an altar boy, I always think with humor when I remember an interchange I overheard by the priests about doing the once a year "kiss of peace." I forgot which service. But after all their planning, they ended up barely touching and kind of swinging back and forth. Now, we have a real kiss of peace where people share of themselves freely. The mass now is much closer to what Justin Martyr described with the restored prayers of the faithful, additional readings in the Liturgy of the Word, the kiss of peace and of course the most wonderful - receiving communion in the hands and under both species. Also, isn't Canon I basically the Tridentine mass but with sorely needed reforms? So where is the real problem here? In my mind, many people who push the Latin mass basically see Latin as a sort "Magic Language," where the religious experience comes from this mysterious incantation instead of what actually happens during the sacrifice of the mass. Sorry if this seems uncharitable, but it is what I have observed. As someone of Slovak descent, I grew up with the great heritage of Saint Cyril and Methodius who attempted to bring the vernacular language Roman Liturgy to the Slavic people but were stymied by Frankish Latinists who were using the Latin mass as a political hammer to gain political control in the region. Notice I said the Roman Liturgy in the Slavic language, not the Byzantine liturgy. This was approved by not one but by two popes. However, Cyril and Methodius were continually persecuted by the Latinists and in fact, St. Methodious, the archbishop appointed by the pope, spent two years in jail. He was put there by the Latinists so he couldn't promulgate the Roman liturgy in the Slavic language, again even though it had papal approval. After numerous orders by the pope, Methodius was eventually released but when he died, his followers were driven out and who then went to the more eastern Slavs. There they switched to the Byzantine Liturgy and their missionary work met with great success. The story doesn't end there. When the great East West Schism came, those Slavic Christians went with Constantinople. Western Christianity lost a whole major people. The story continues in the 16th century when the Protestants revolted. Probably the Protestant's main attraction to the common person was the ability to hear the mass in their own language. Just imagine if St. Cyril and Methodius had been able to implement the Roman liturgy in the language of the people. That would have spread around other parts of Europe. Men like Luther, Calvin and Cramner would have been much less attractive to the common people. A small blip in the history of the Church but not this terrible rupture that we have now.
Ironically, as a full blooded Protestant, non-calvanist, this video has given me a fervent desire to continue to know the Word of God better, because so many, Catholics and Protestants, get soo much wrong when looking to other men to interpret the scriptures for them. Only the truth can set you free, and only your own searching of the original Proto-canonical scriptures can lead you into a personal relationship with the One true and living God.
I love this talk its beautiful, I will listen again and again, I am Catholic thank you both, wonderful. I love Doctor Scott Hahn I would never get tired listening, love you too Matt, God Bless you both Philomena.
Scott Hahn telling the world about the objective superiority of the Traditional Latin Mass makes my heart so happy :) honestly, i used to defend the NO because “Dr Hahn spoke well of it so it can’t be *all* abuse”, but I’m so happy to hear that section of this interview :)
I was lucky to hear Dr. Hahn speak at the North Dakota Eucharistic Congress in Jamestown ND a few months ago, i found myself sitting totally stick entranced listening to every word he said. What an amazing man!
Now I really want to hear Dr. Hahn's reaction to Francis's de facto shutting down of the TLM. In 21 years of being Catholic I've gone to one Latin Mass, and yet I am still heartbroken over this particular letter.

I’m a cradle Catholic love my faith. Have never left the church but, I only went to confession the day before my first Holy Communion. I had a friend who’s father was a practicing Catholic priest. So I decided I was never going to confession ever again. So therefore I punished myself by not receiving communion all this years. Because the law abiding Catholic I am knew that if I didn’t go to confession I couldn’t receive communion. It wasn’t until I discovered Dr. Hahn a couple months ago and how heartfelt he talked about the Eucharist. I against my will went to confession , with the priest that I love so much which is also my coworker at the VA hospital. It was a face to face confession my biggest fear. All I have to say after my confession Father Jose absolved me of my sins, told me you are as clean as the day you were baptized gave me communion and prayed with me. Thank you so much Dr Hahn for opening up not only my eyes but my heart. This man is a legend he is so full of the Holy Spirit. You will always be in my prayers🙏

Probably want to pin your comment too.

Please tell us you did that after receiving the sacrament of penance 🙏🙏🙏
I will pray for you. God bless.

I entered RCIA as the Son of an Evangelical Pentecostal Pastor back in 1994. I came into the Church at the Easter Vigil 1995, thanks be to God! Dr. Hahn became one of my early Heroes of the Faith! My wife and I will be confirmed this Easter Vigil. I've been studying scripture, theology and church history since 2011. After years of intense study and discouragement in denominational doctrine, I can't explain the relief in knowing I can rest in the Catholic Church. God has restored in us the joy of salvation.

Wow, so cool to see the literal fruits!
Heh...my current Protestant pastor knew Dr. Hahn back in the day and does not have much good to say, so it's interesting to hear him tell his own story.

Thank God for you and your love for our Lord and his Church.
Reading Scott Hahn’s book is like reading my own story. It has been such a comfort in a trying time.
@@adamgoldwasser Thank you, I will look for that book!

I became Catholic 50 years ago. Wouldn't change a thing except I wouldn't have been so stubborn about having a relationship with Mama Mary!

We are such a lucky generation to access that kind of content freely, at anytime. God bless you Matt!
This discussion was fantastic! Dr Hahn is always so eloquent and articulate with his responses
Thank you for what you do Matt. God bless you and your family.
Dr. Scott Hahn is blessed with abundant grandpa energy. He's so wholesome.
We marveled at Dr. Scott Hahn's teachings just like the Jews marveled at Jesus' teachings in the New Testament. Marvelous in our sight!
yes amen
Great interview! Scott Hahn is just a treasure. A wealth of knowledge and a beautiful delivery. God bless you both! 🙏🏻❤️
thank you so much.
I hope you husband converts…..but most likely you will end up divorced. Ask me how I know….my ex is a Protestant.
Yes! Good idea! 😇
Thank you for sharing with all of us. This beautiful!
Story of Dr. Scott Hahn.
I never get tired of hearing Dr Hahn’s story. Thanks for sharing this beautiful conversation. I am beyond excited for the Old Testament Ignatius Study Bible!!
Oh my god, there is so much depth to the faith that I feel like I am missing out
Never too late to learn. I just started digging in a couple years ago and I can’t get enough.
I felt that way too. If you can’t beat em, join em! I was confirmed last summer. Lent is a season when people are drawn back to God.
You're not missing out. You're at the first few bites of a long, lovely feast. Enjoy.
@@oneperson5760 I love that analogy. And sorry, it’s not an analogy, it really is the feast of the lamb!
Can we even avoid this though? Our faith is so rich! 💗 we get to be forever students 💕
Dr Hahn and Dr Pitre make scripture come to life with typology
Steve Ray does as well.
True
I love Scott Hahn. It’s been quite a few years since I watched or listened to him in such a long presentation as this, and I almost forgot how truly amazing and special a witness he is. He is such a gift to the Church. His fidelity to and love for the Truth is so beautiful. His clarity of teaching on covenant and all that means stirs the soul and has the scriptures jumping out off the pages to invite us to a more profound encounter with God than we could ever even imagine.
How great and amazing your conversion story .you had a special call from God for a big mission to preached God's word and defend the catholic faith. May the Lord send you the Holy Spirit to guide you,and the gift of wisdom will be yours forever Amen. . .
I love how real he is this is truly inspiring ☺️💖
Jesus mercy,Mary help! 🥰🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
What a joy! Indeed that interview was. Thank you so much.
Yes - schedule another hour with Dr. Hahn and talk about the filioque and Eastern Orthodox vs. Orthodox
It is always enlightening to listen to Dr. Scott Hahn.🙏🏽❤️✨ You're both an inspiration, Mr. Matt. God bless you both🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Scott dropped a bomb on Delubac on the nature of grace. I'm such a theology nerd.
Bravo Dr Scott please enlighten us cradle filipino catholics..more please thanks

I always love Dr Scott Hahn. May God bless him.
Thanks a lot for this interview. It would be very helpful to hear more from Dr. Hahn.
It would be amazing if Scott Hahn could come on the show at the VERY least once a month
Yes!
Scott Hahn thank you for doing this work for me with great search for the truth with great wisdom
Was glued to the screen the entire episode. Thank you Matt and Dr. Hahn.
I'm laughing at me as I thought I had a pretty deep grasp of Catholicism and her impossible beauty. Thanks you my brothers.
I love Dr. Hahn. He rambles a bit in this interview, but he has so much to say and he is so incredibly bright. I admire him greatly.
