Warrior Arch Militant can do an amazing dual wielding melee build. I did it on my heretic run and made a "Khorne Berzerker" so to speak. worked out really well!
One thing that I gather from that mini-blog is that the new companion will have both of those new archetypes (aka blog suggest that kibelah will be locked to bladedancer and executioner), meaning that starting point of DLC will probably be in act 2 ( Im probably wrong but thats my read).
@@SlanderedGaming yeah i was keeping an eagle eye out for it because it's conspicuously absent from void shadows press materials. i've seen starrok sneak it in on at least two separate random reddit comments so i feel confident saying it's confirmed.
Not a fan of melee builds in the game; but this looks really good. I don't think I'll ever take this as the RT though; because we have enough melee companions *and* this seems to be the archetype for my future waifu... I mean new companion! 🤣
Eh, both have self-handicapping mechanics and are built around DOT in a game where once you build right, you'll usually be clearing the field in 3 rounds or less. Usually less. Seems smarter to just stick with the Melee GOAT combo: Warrior/Arch-Militant/Psyker
Blade dancer reminds me of the mantis zealot from the description and I saw some people low key mad that the soldier can’t get the executioner as a soldier pyro
Blade Dancer sounds fascinating and would be a great way to play as an Aeldari Harlequin if that was possible, which is not. On the other hand I'm waiting for the DLC. It might provide much more fun and I want my dogmatic operative pyromancer to romance Kaballah or however she is named.
Executioner will probably pair really well with Drukhari weapons cause those cause bleeding or toxic damage. Marazhai could make great Executioner if u can stomach him. Death Cult Assassin weapons are also known to cause above effects too. Some of their weapons are needle guns and gauntlets, while others are monomolecular razors and swords.
This is SUPER cool. The Executioner Archetype seems like a perfect fit for my Pyro Soldier Heretic run that I paused when they delayed the DLC. Kind of a shame that Soldier doesn't naturally get access to it but uhh....PC and all. I'm sure I"ll find a way.
thanks for the video buddy. i still had a pyromancer game from the launch that i got pretty far but then i decided to wait until the game is maybe a little more patched. im now delaying my restart after the dlc.. and maybe one patch.. haha
I can't wait to use the Executioner with the Melee pyro warrior build tbh. Vanguard feels like such a waste, granted we become basically invincible as a Vanguard tho.
I've been looking forward to playing this one. From how the DLC sounds, I don't feel as bad about my delay. Even more interested now. Really been enjoying the news updates, and all your other content as well. Thanks for sharing.
Carouse only use was for one heavy armor that gives deflaction bonus that scales with Carouse, it's pretty much the worst skill in whole game. They did confirmed that Kibellah will be recruited in act 1 and comes with bladedancer archetype. She also was confirmed that she'll stay with hereticus MC. For archetypes, blade dancer sounds very fun. It's pretty much how i would envision an agility dual wielder class, jumping around and using swords for deflects. For executioner, i'm concered about how viable it will be. Dots are on underpowered side and combat is too fast to make use of them. It also feels weird to me that it doesn't have agility nor perception increase in it, even though blade dancer and operative can use it. I'm waiting to see it's talents before judging it completly, so far it feels more of a gimick archetype.
Honestly, I am not excited. Self-damaging with the risk of new traumas is just not worth it most of the time, DOT effects are not worth it in a game where most fights are over in two rounds and some of the AOE effects look as if they do damage indiscriminately to friend or foe. Only time will tell, but I think they may have cool-looking but inefficient archetypes.
I feel very meh about these two. Melee was already so strong. Adding new melee archetypes isn’t super exciting. I’ve done two unfair runs and even there everything dies so fast that DoTs are useless for 99% of enemies. What’s the point of increasing damage over time of everyone is going to die the next turn anyway? Hopefully they’ll make more sense with more balancing changes.
Well after I have played XXX and completed the game XXX times it feels like executioner with increase damage over time is kind of pointless, everybody dies after like 1-3 turns except bosses.
Bladedancer is a pretty good addition for people who wanted a melee character focused on agility. Executioner is a bit more niche but they had to find something that wasn't redundant when compared to Assassin and Vanguard. Since Kibellah is a melee companion, the new archetypes were created in order to give her a greater identity instead of being just another warrior. Remember that originally there were no plans for this DLC to have new archetypes. PS: Knowing that the new archetypes are designed with the identity of the DLC companion in mind, it is assumed that the next DLC will focus on the use of shields and will probably encourage the use of shotguns with the possibility of an advanced archetype focused on dogs (or perhaps the opposite).
Last time I played dots were completely useless on unfair so IDK if this archetype is going to be any good or just flashy. I know they changed pyromancer but I don't remember anything on bleeding or poison.
Haven't played the game yet. I am considering the option to play once either the first or both DLCs are out. From what I hear of the game I might do only one playthrough so I guess waiting for the full experience is the way to go.
If you know for certain you will only do one playthrough it might be best to wait for the second game. I would recommend two though so you see at least two dispositions.
I'm thinking the same way! I appreciate the coverage here though, since I get some ideas, some preview, etc, so it's pretty valuable. Build vids are good, but if you're a delayed-gratification person like this, very important to have updated build vids in some form--so many rule changes and 'rebalancings', becomes necessary for relevance.
@@fsu7482 I am in the middle of my dogmatic run right now (chapter 2). I might do a heretic run in the future, because based on what I saw so far it might be interesting. But yeah, looks like heretic is the least favorite one, so I hope future DLCs and patches will make it better.
@damiang1442 yeah everyone sleeps on being evil in games and it's of the hardest runs in most games because high chance everyone hates you and just makes gameplay harder.
Maybe each new companion type comes with its own DLC. I could see us getting death cult assassin, Ork freeboota or wierdboy, a tau Pathfinder and kroot mercenary, and maybe a Guardsmen Survivor. Each dlc opening new opportunities and threats and maybe connecting partially to an element of the wider warhammer 40k rpg. With the freebooter or wierdboy, the orcs could come in to bring their own form of nuisance, and you have to deal with aggressive ramming attacks in ship battles and the mad wild chaotic inventions of the orks as you maybe have to contend with the undred undred teef region of space. With the tau and kroot, facing xenos threats like the Rakgol, and also investigating how and why tau weapons have found their ways into the armouries of some dangerous cold traders and a few fringe worlds. For the guardsmen survivor… it would be interesting to have the severance dominion getting involved as either antagonists or even potentially allies of convenience… and then there is potential ways to expand hereticus routes. Maybe a few characters to replace the characters that won’t side with you, each a kind of darker twist on each member who rejected you or that you killed off. Oh argenta won’t side with me or sleep with me… that’s fine… a dark ritual with some special chaos friends of mine will help to bring them into the fold… and if not… well… the gods will surely balance the scales in their own way.
The first season pass is focused on the empire, I suppose that if the sales of the DLC meet expectations we will have a second season pass and it will be there where they focus on the xenos and/or chaos.
Carousel gives you better resistance to poison and such things, it seems to be more passive in that a high value has been having me take less damage than others with lower scores. Just my observation in gameplay as I am still I'm first play though

Just finished another run that I started after 1.2 dropped. In this game you absolutely do not want the battles to last longer than 2-3 rounds, otherwise you're most likely dead. So that makes dot-specialized class kinda pointless. Also, pyro Idira absolutely obliterates pretty much everything once she gets Molten Beam, so usually fights are over in first turn anyway.
@@SlanderedGaming nah, can't say that it does. Granted, I don't play on Unfair, the situation might be different there, but on Normal and Daring you usually delete most enemies on first turn and finish the stragglers a couple of turns later. Nerfs to Archmilitant are barely noticeable, so Argenta with heavy bolter is still scary. And once you get Idira the gloves that bump her psy rating whenever she triggers perils/phenomena - it's basically autowin for every battle, final boss of Act 3 melted even before the adds, Uralon didn't last longer than three turns, final boss died in two (though there Ulfar really helped).
I'd say Idira is the most broken char currently, reaching crazy high psy ratings really fast, I usually had her at around 10-13, depending on luck, so Molten Beam easily reaches 500-700 dmg, with almost unlimited range and melting armor as a bonus. Add to that the talents that carry her overdmg to closest enemies with no range limit and between beams and lightnings from staff she's able to obliterate anything under Finest Hour - and you get free Finest Hour on first turn with Inquisitor's Decree.
A dual wield focused build that isn't assassin is exactly what I wanted
